Allah swt sees your daily struggles, He knows your internal dilemmas, He hears your silent questions, He recognizes that you're trying and He appreciates your weak attempts to strive in His path. He would never let your efforts go astray. The reward is coming. The relief is coming. The faraj is coming. Keep going my dear. Never stop trying. Never stop striving. Never stop walking towards Allah swt.

Hold Tight To The Remembrance Of Allāh
Shaykh Sālih Ibn ‘Abd Al-‘Azīz Āl Ash-Shaykh حفظه الله said:
“Pay attention to the usage of favours, times of ease, and present conditions. Favours pour down from morning to evening, but where is the remembrance of Allāh? Where is the gratitude? Shaytān may come to and make one think oneself deserving of these favours due to one's actions, forgetting one's sins, transgressions, shortcomings, and the favour of Allāh the Exalted, on an individual level or a societal level. Thus it is obligatory upon the slaves of Allāh - as individuals and as a community - to give attention to the times of ease and favours, holding tightly to the remembrance of Allāh. Then when the hard times come, Allāh the Exalted will bring ease.”
[Advices Of Abū Ad-Dardā’, pg.39. Translated By Rasheed Ibn Estes Barbee]

How much worse does it get? Does it even get better?
Since no one could answer. I did exactly what Ustaza used to say.
“Whenever you’re in distress, run to Salah or Quran. The first call for help should always be to Allah.”
I opened a random page of Quran & came across the story of Musa AS in Surah Qasas.
It begins by explaining the condition of Bani Israel under the rulership of Firaun. They were going through a trial in which their newborns and men were being slaughtered while women were kept alive.
Next ayah said: Allah wanted to confer a favor upon those who were being oppressed in the land and make them leaders and inheritors of land.
Allah was planning to bring the weak into power.
This was enough to understand that all trials end one day, but the next ayah left me amazed because it answered my exact question.
The ayah talked about Musa AS, when he was born and how Allah saved him from getting executed. Thousands of children were being slaughtered, and he was the only one saved. Why?
So that he could grow & save Bani Israel from the shackles of Firaun one day. The saving of Musa AS was the beginning of Allah's plan in favor of Bani Israel.
Look at how many years before the plan to save Bani Israel begin. And how many years later it came into effect.
What do we want? We want our situation to change immediately.
Allah could have said KUN, and the state of Bani Israel would have changed instantly, but He is the planner. He works subtly, uses means, and gradually His plans come into effect, and the delay brings only khayr.
I think there would have been people like me, even at that time, asking the same question while being completely unaware that the plan to save them was already in motion.
So yeah, it will get worst as it got for Bani Israel. But, it will get better as well.

Health is morally neutral. Being healthy doesn't mean you're a better person and being unhealthy doesn't mean you're a bad person.
Allah swt is not punishing you with disease or disability or illness. These are just facts of life and have nothing to do with how good or kind you are.
You are deserving of good things and love and kindness regardless of your body. Allah swt loves you the way you are and He understands that your body has limits.

ramadan series: ramadan for women on their periods ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sometimes, it can be disheartening when we're on our period during ramadan - especially if during the last 10 days of ramadan - and it may feel like we are missing out on the blessings as we cannot fast or pray. however, there are other things we can do to take part and it is important to plan what you will do on these days in advance.
some things you can do are:
sit and talk to Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ
one of my favourite things to do is just talk to Allah, whether I'm sitting down or walking around. He is always there listening, so why not talk to Him like He is your Friend? ask for what you would ask for during salah, have a conversation and pour out your heart as though you were in sujood - except now, you're just talking with him outside of prayer! this is a great way to boost your connection and relationship with Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ .
gain islamic knowledge
there are many ways to do this such as: - reading an islamic book - watching islamic lectures / videos - listening to islamic podcasts
study surahs
if you type in 'tafsir surah _____' on youtube, there are videos out there that can help you understand surahs in more depth and learn lessons from them. someone on youtube said why not study Surah Maryam to learn about an important woman during this time and get inspiration from her!
there are many resources to study the commentary of the Qur'an online that you can read, too.
eat healthily and regain nourishment
this is a time to eat healthily and drink lots of water to rejuvenate your body and have a break before you fast again. cook and eat healthier recipes to help get your energy up so that when you do fast again, you are able to do so better Insha’Allah.
increased dhikr
make a plan for yourself. for example - maybe you'll want to recite istighfar and subhanallah x250 times during salah times so that, although you can’t pray at the moment, you are still remembering Allah during prayer times and gaining blessings.
perhaps you can even wake up at Tahajjud or Fajr time and do dhikr then, to remember Him during the early hours when you would usually wake up to fast and pray.
you can recite Durood Sharif as soon as you wake up or when you’re about to go to sleep
learn names of Allah and invoke Him with them during du’as.
listen to the Qur'an
we may not be able to physically touch and read the Qur'an Mushaf during this time, but we can still listen to it, alhamdulillah. play it aloud and listen to it throughout the day as you cook, study, go for a walk, etc. there are many playlists of the Holy Qur'an on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
you can also read it on your devices (phones, laptops), as you are not physically touching the Mushaf, and can download PDFs of the Qur’an too.
do charitable acts
increase your charity and pay sadaqah, give to the poor, have a little sadaqah box, make iftar for the homeless or for neighbours or family and friends.
rest!
our bodies go through different things during our periods and different women experience different symptoms. aside from doing good deeds, make sure to also listen to your body and take care of your physical and mental health too. this can also help get your energy levels up to fast again after, Insha’Allah, and is also counted as a good deed as you will be taking care of yourself!
don't forget that good deeds are multiplied during ramadan, alhamdulillah, so don't fret when you get your period. Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ can and will still be pleased with you and your acts and answer your du'as.

"If you lost against your toxic desires and end up asking him to make you a better you, He loves you.
If the moon shines upon your tears on your insomniac nights, He loves you.
If the Sun is still heartwarmingly bright for your eyes lost in void, He loves you.
If you sit to talk to Him without opening your mouth and letting your soul speak the truth, He loves you.
If you meet the two angels on your left and right, 5 times a day, He loves you.
If death crosses your mind and you ask him for more time to get things right, He loves you.
If you can still go back to Him for forgiveness, He loves you."

There is not one thing that I have asked Allah swt and He had denied me, but that He has replaced it with something a thousand times better than what I asked for, or if not so, the least would be that He swt has saved me from the bad and harm which my request would have brought upon me. For He is indeed the All-knowing, the Most Merciful, the most Generous. Alhamdulillah.

“I was a hidden treasure. I loved to be known. Therefore, I created the creation so that I would be known.”
hadith qudsi
Think of how pleased Allah SWT is when we do what we created to do, that is remembering him. Dhikr, salah, reciting Quran, learning about the deen, loving others for his sake, avoiding the haram, performing good deeds with the intention to please him, talking about islam, giving salam, giving zakat, repenting, making dua, helping fellow brothers and sisters, practice the sunnah, going to the mosque; all in remembrance and consciousness of Allah SWT.
May we leave ramadan knowing Allah SWT more than we did when we entered this blessed month. Ameen.
