Maybe it’s my fear of not being believed but I literally can’t do comedy where the other person isn’t being believed. Straight up, at first I would get stressed when the Human Centipede clip was going around. Like, do you know how terrifying it is to be in a wild ass date where you think you’re in danger and the waiter notices but has they have to open their mouth so now you have lie. Or the Elmo Rocko memes like, OF COURSE ELMO’S DISTRESSED! I WOULD BE TOO! LIKE EVERYONE IS TELLING YOU THIS ROCK IS REAL WHEN IT’S NOT(and like yah I’m sure there’s nuance to the situation but like COME ON).

Or Bibi from La Familia Peluche, I remember liking the show as kid and I still do but like, fuck man, the borderline emotional abuse than girl goes through IS WILD. LIKE EVERYONE FUCKING TELLING YOU THAT YOU’RE NOT NORMAL AND FEELING LIKE YOU’RE GOING CRAZY. I remember rewatching La Familia Peluche in Highschool and like fuck man, that period episode. Or to this day I remember the scene where they were serving food and she started to eat first and her family chastised her so she stops but then they make her feel back cause she already started so now she just continue to eat it and like I’ve literally been in a similar situation. And for those who haven’t watched the show, the whole shitck is that this is an absurd world where everyone works on a different level and Bibi’s the only who reacts normally to our eyes(the comedic straight man to alot of the jokes), which leads to the iconic line “Bibi porque no eres una niña normal”(Bibi why aren’t you a normal girl) that is said in every episode. Which from a dramatic irony perspective that we the audience know she’s the only normal person, makes it a funny joke, but if you think about it too hard, it’s so fucking sad, I just can’t help but not fully enjoy the show cause I just constantly feel bad for her.

Fuck even watching HALF LIFE VR BUT THE AI IS SELF AWARE FUCKS WITH ME! Like yes I very much enjoy the series! But, most of the time I’m just feeling bad for Gordon, like fuck man, I’d react the same way, wouldn’t you. Like ESPECIALLY BENRY! MAN DID HE STRESS ME OUT! I genuinely felt so bad for Gordon!

And then this slides into how I can’t enjoy alot of comedy(especially cringe humor) cause even though I understand the joke and think it funny on paper, I just end up feeling too bad for the character to actually enjoy. And it’s awful because I’ll STILL watch the shows because I’m invested in the characters not the humor if that makes sense??? (Oh, Community/The Office, the hate love relationship I have with you).

Anyway, yes I’m so fun to watch comedy with, I literally can’t be in the same room from some scenes. And yes, all my favorite characters follow the Only Sane Man trope, why’d you ask?

i've been thinking about lotor's encounter with the paladins where they just... keep him hostage. he really said "i think it's time we had a talk" and they proceeded to put him in a jail cell wtf!!!!! that was NOT a talk!!!!! /lh

anyways, i've been thinking about the hostage exchange between zarkon and the paladins--lotor for pidge's dad. when they're discussing it before it happens, i feel that pidge and lotor's kid would butt heads very severely. it's no question that they would be there with him. he's declared an enemy of the state and, by association, they are as well, regardless of whether zarkon actually knows about them or not. i think the paladins would discuss keeping them around for information's sake (and lotor would actually agree with this; he wouldn't want zarkon to get his hands on them for any reason), but they would be so intensely against it.

like "you do not get to take your father back at the cost of separating me from mine, that isn't fair" kind of thing. "you do not get to talk about us as if we are just bargaining chips. we are living and deserve as much respect as you do. you do not get to judge us based on the actions of others" also. yeah. just very raw, visceral emotions. and furthermore they KNOWWWW that zarkon isn't just going to hand over her dad, like???? it's so obvious to them but of course they aren't listened to.

and they're just completely inconsolable about it, about that whole situation!!! like!!!! pidge should know what this desperation feels like, allura should know what this desperation feels like, right? but instead they are realizing how few favors having galra blood does for them and now they kind of get why lotor clutches onto his altean heritage.

(pidge DOES get the desperation, but that's the problem--both of these poor children are failing to think clearly because of that desperation, which is rooted in the same place, and it is leading to them spitting nasty insults towards one another, digging into places that should not be dug into. "this is so typical of the galra 😒" "shut up that's why your dad got kidnapped 🙄" now i think they could probably be friends actually but that would happen way later on LMAO)

OK, with the information Balmung gave us, I want to add my own input, although this is mostly from personal experience, so I apologise that I can't exactly back this up with scientific reasoning. Then again, Klint is a ghost, so that got thrown out the window ages ago, didn't it?

Basically, I have and still do suffer from this amnesia that Klint seems to be suffering from. It is certainly a coping mechanism and one the body has subconsciously done; I was fully convinced that certain awful events never occurred, or occurred in a completely different way, until they returned to me. For some, I had abstract, reoccurring nightmares about the event in question for years until I finally realised WHAT these nightmares were about

I can say with confidence that rediscovering the truth, having the suppressed memory return... It is not pleasant. Some brought relief as I finally had an answer to the nightmares, others simply brought more nightmares and denial. It is awful, but it IS necessary for healing. I can confidently state that it hurts, but it has also brought closure, and has allowed me to figure out why I fear such things in present time, and now I can work on overcoming such fears. I am unsure if this can be done with Klint, but if it can, I can say there IS an upside to this. Klint may even come to terms with this own his own in due time, but only once he has begun to heal. Sometimes fixing present problems can fix the past ones, y'know?

And, to add another note... I'm sorry Barok, but I completely understand why Klint would not want to turn to you, but I also understand your frustrations; guess who's a middle child? I am! My elder sibling and I have gone through a lot, and they have refused to turn to me for help, even though we are both adults now; they have stated to me they still see their "little sister", not the adult I am. On that note... My younger sibling and I share the same age gap you and your brother do, and I would not dare to turn to them for my own issues. I cannot burden them with what I suffer with, even miniscule things. They're... My little sibling. I still see a young child, not the teenager who will be a grown adult in years to come

I guess what I'm trying to say is... This is a difficult situation where if done incorrectly, Klint may be hurt more than he already is. But... I guess if I, someone who also suffers this amnesia, can slowly recover, then why can't Klint? There's no comparison of trauma, trauma is trauma and we both went through hell. I've been given the opportunity to heal, why can't Klint?

I hope this personal recount can provide a bit of insight and comfort. Both for Klint's situation... And your own Barok. You may suffer from this to, but... You'll be OK. I promise.

"May I ask that you bring everything else from the menu?" he says in a sterner voice to the employee. "E-everything, Sir?" the waitstaff questions. "Well, naturally. I can't let my Darling starve."

"I'm bored. Let's leave now", you mention bluntly, standing in front of the heavily ornate table with a huff. "Are you sure, Darling? It's an important meeting for the country", Mr. Politician tries to plead. Around him, the other men sit baffled, observing the outrageous exchange. "Now!" you conclude louder. Before anyone can protest, your boyfriend stands up obediently and reaches out for your hand. "Then allow me to guide you, love."

A paradox. His earnest work is put to a halt if you require anything from him. Somehow, he has until now managed to juggle the two with little effort, and to his credit, there have been many instances requiring nerves of steel. Such as you paying him an unannounced visit to the office, and disliking the fact he was unavailable due to a meeting. So, you marched over to the window and promptly flashed your chest against the glass. Everyone else was focused on the opposing whiteboard; he was the only one who immediately noticed your arrival. "As you can see, the expected result is irresistible", he continued with a professional smile, tapping the graph with a marker.

Everyone knows Mr. Politician is fervently devoted to his principles. Take his last public speech, for example. Knuckles white from gripping the podium, he'd nearly choked during an eloquent -but passionate - conclusion. His face was red, his jaw tightened. He needed a moment to recollect himself, and the public waited with bated breaths, visibly emotional. Of course, they couldn't tell the outrageous truth: that you were shamelessly kneeling at his feet, pumping and teasing his erection until, at last, he let go all over your face.

"I wanted to see if you'd stumble on your words", you explain afterwards, wiping the sticky liquid off with a damp cloth. "That would've been unpleasant", he responds with a shiver. "It was live on national television."

He does not seem too bothered by the potential risk of being caught. Truly, his nonchalance knows no bounds when it comes to you. Or perhaps it is part of the charm. There's something quite depraved yet tempting about this perpetual contrast.

To return your daring favor, he gently places you onto his desk and spreads your legs, leaving trails of kisses along the inner surface of your thigh. A quick glance down confirms his suspicions: your bare bottom lays on top of confidential, rather important documents he dutifully signed hours ago. How thrilling of a feeling! He already smiles in anticipation, picturing himself as he hands over the folder to the oblivious party. He's not breaking any rules, now, is he? Nowhere in the book of etiquette does it state you mustn't fuck your beloved on top of official papers.

You gaze at the disheveled face underneath you. "One day I'll get you in trouble", you blurt out between whines. "Me? Oh, Darling. You know I always have everything under control." He lifts himself up and gives you a quick, desperate kiss. "Including you."

someday i need to do a big meta about how angela is dolores’ doppelgänger character kind of like akane is for maeve and craddock is for william and i guess arnold is for bernard. she’s just like this slightly-off version of dolores and accordingly has similar but slightly-off dynamics with william and teddy and humanity in general and it’s so interesting

#her circumstances are also like. a more direct and literal version of dolores' #(hence why they had that little connection moment when dolores saw her reaction to having to be a sex object for logan) #but like. i'm obsessed with her relationships i think they're so interesting #like the way she has this funny little tension going on with william since there is obviously attraction there but #she's offering a type of interaction or relationship that he very specifically does not want (meaningless) #and she obviously feels some type of way about the person he became and seems to find him... sort of interesting and diverting #loathsome but also pitiful in kind of an amusing way. like how dolores pretends to feel (although we know from s4 theres more to the story) #or the way she has like this weird trauma bond with teddy because they kind of sit in the same position (subordinate and loyal to dolores) #and him killing her in escalante was kind of... both of them suffering at dolores' hands (i hate to put it like this but it's true 😔) #bc they had no choice other than to play the roles that she assigned to each of them but also understood that she didnt have a choice either #so they can't help but empathize with her and feel loyal to her despite that #plus how it's sort of implied that her main emotion toward humanity is just rage. which dolores also has but its complicated by other things #so she's sort of like a manifestation of all of dolores' most negative emotions toward the world (re how she dies) #truly any time she starts talking for any length of time i'm like 👁 LETS ANALYZE #i love her #westworld
