Alien (1979, Ridley Scott)
16/03/2024
Alien is a 1979 film directed by Ridley Scott.
The progenitor of a successful series of films, as well as books, comics and video games, it is considered one of director Ridley Scott's best films as well as among the masterpieces in the history of science fiction cinema. The events revolve around an alien species which in the story is identified with the generic definition xenomorphic, made up ferocious predators endowed with intelligence but incapable of feeling emotions, who reproduce like parasitoids by nesting in the bodies of other living beings causing their death.
Alien had three sequels, all with Sigourney Weaver as the protagonist: Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection. Two crossover films connected with another film series, Predator, were also produced, called respectively, Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Prometheus, a prequel more relevant to the Alien universe, was released in 2012, followed in 2017 by Alien: Covenant, while a direct sequel, Alien: Romulus, will be released in theaters on August 16, 2024.
In 2002 it was chosen for preservation in the National Film Registry of the United States Library of Congress.

Predator: Complete Series Review
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the best creature feature creatures to ever feature. Every time that helmet comes off I want to vomit and cover my eyes. It's like a blown open vagina with eyes and teeth. It's truly terrifying and it makes me wonder if I can take it.
As these movies go on they suffer from "I'm the biggest and baddest thing to ever exist but you keep making sequels". Eventually, they need to make one of these where the Predator wins.
Question: From a skill hunting standpoint, does the Predator be cheating? I mean, it's going after animals with teeth and claws using technology. Same for it going against a person. It's got radar, heat vision, auto aiming/firing weapons, bombs, and it's strong as hell. Sure, humans have some of that, but never the person(s) it's hunting. Take that suit off player, and let's see wha-- Oh god, it snapped me in half with its bare hands.
Predator (1987) Fantastic. Really smart use of a small budget. Makes staring at trees entertaining. No bullshitting around gets right to the action. The way it shows the Predator stalking them, learning. So good. Features the world's strongest handshake. Bill Duke(s) with the machine gun. Arnold with the mud. The name Dutch. Great fucking time.
Predator 2 (1990) Very 80's in a bad and good way. I like the idea of hunting in the concrete jungle but also I hate it. I like that it's more investigative than outright hunting but these thrive in the forest. They don't use enough elements of a city for my tastes. Going after gangsters isn't the same as going against a trained hunter. They don't operate the same, so it's really just ends up being a skilled killer going after regular assholes with guns. Overall it's a good time.
AVP: Alien vs Predator (2004) deserves better than the dust y'all paid it. It was a fun ride. It's a cool way to bring two "ultimate killing machine" worlds together. They didnt need to tie the alien history together, no one cares. I also don't need the bred to hunt history lesson, but I dont mind it. We just want to see 'em fight. Sanaa Lathan kicked alien ass and lived to tell about it. My question is how did they decide which creature would win? Coin toss or the humanish one is more relatable?
Picture it AVP: Some R word, the predators are back on Earth because of a Xenomorph and the Predator finds Alexa because of her earth knowledge and together they hunt it down.
Aliens Vs. Predators: Requiem (2007) when do the Xenomorphs start versusing the Predators? Because 40 minutes in and its a lot of human bullshit and aliens, of both persuasion, doing stuff but not together. This could work if it knew how to use the aliens. Also, cut the damn lights on, can't see a goddamn thing. Also, why the hell was this called requiem?
50 minutes, and still no predator vs alien.
60 minutes, with no A-ing versus P-ing.
70 minutes, the title has nothing to do with the movie.
75 minutes, finally the A's are v-ing the P's, but for some reason the humans I give no fucks about are taking up the screen time. Should be called Aliens Exist: Can't See 'em Though.
Is this worse than The Predator? Yes and that's saying a lot. At least some action happens in TP.
Predators (2010) really enjoy the fish out of water alien planet element. Answers some questions without ruining the mystery. The twist with Topher Grace needed to be more laid out to have a better payoff. Would've liked to see more of how and why the Predators use this planet as a testing ground. What makes this planet special, the terrain, the atmosphere, the flora and fauna? Because its unpopulated? Without all of that they might as well be on earth. Would've been cool to see each person's hunting style more. Basically this is the I need more movie. It's fine to just watch but a little more wouldn't hurt. Laurence Fishburne needed more screen time.
The Predator (2018) Absolute shit. Paint by numbers studio picture. Why make a Predator 15' tall and then do nothing cool with it? This doesn't understand why people like these movies. A 15' Predator isn't interesting or scary for the same reasons as a slightly above the average human Predator. It requires no skill, no hunting prowess. This is one of those "we have better computer graphics, let's show off" movies. The 2010's loved a let's make a well known baddie a "goody" plot twist. It was shit then, its shit now.
Trevante Rhodes being here does give this like half a bonus point but he's not the lead so. . . Also, Sterling K. Brown.
The fire alarm goes off the teacher leaves the room before making sure ALL the students have evacuated.
All these years later I thought Boyd Holbrook was that tall blonde Swede, not that one, the other one.
Every female character is the worst version of third wave feminism. Science woman: I'm super smart but also super hot and I know some bad ass stuff and I have an idiotic and deadly need to figure out what's happening. Wife woman: I'm not a nag and were divorced because he wanted to soldier more than husband, but I still love him. I'll do something defiant to the bad guys to prove that I'm not in this movie to just be his damsel.
This movie tries so hard to be every sci-fi/adventure/war propaganda movie you've ever seen.
Who the fuck wanted answers about Predator genetics? No one!
Everybody has sleeves under their clear lab suit but of course shockingly hot nerd lady scientist has on a tank top.
Follow sterilization protocols: but have your mouth and your hair uncovered.
Why did Group 2 need to be like this? What do all of them being mentally different add to this movie? Other than 18 minutes of crass unfunny, uncomfortable jokes.
Why did they shoe horn in this kid. This is the laziest most obnoxious plotline. Was trying to get his gear back not good enough to stand alone?
Adding "dogs" was interesting and alien world expanding without doing too much. But did it need to look like a Predator? It's not like human hunters dogs look like their owners. That's a studio head idea.
I forgot they tried to set this up as a series. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAhahaahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahhahahahahhaha.
Prey (2022) fucking fantastic. Should've been in theaters. Amber Midthunder (and co.) did what needed to be done. I love that the Predator itself is less teched out than the ones "before" it.
I would not be mad if Prey set off a string of prequel sequels. Paleolithic. Medieval. Ice age. A battle Royale with winners of yore. I'd love to see the evolution of the Predators weaponry and hunting skills. Even a future sequel. Let's see the Predator battle a human with equal future tech.

Watching Through My Collection: Day 32/36
Aliens vs Predator: Requiem (2007)
Day 31 / Day 33
There are two reasons to watch an AvP movie:
To see badass yautja action and rad gadgets
To see fucked up xenomorph shit
This movie delivers on both. Unfortunately, it also delivers on the annoying red shirt humans that Alien vs Predator (2004) had managed to avoid.
Tumblr media
Now, don't get me wrong. The human characters being boring or annoying isn't enough to ruin a movie for me. I just need good monster action to make up for it.
Sadly, the monster action isn't enough to make up for it.
I'll give them credit for putting a xenomorph in an actually well-populated area and just letting it go nuts on the unsuspecting civilians. The xenomorph gross-factor and weird reproductive shit is in full-force and true to form. It was also neat seeing them in more organic settings like a forest.
Plus, the "Predalien" hybrid was a super cool design and I think movies should be allowed to do weird things to alien biology on a whim so long as it makes a more interesting story. I for one find it entirely believable for a young xenomorph Queen to have a quicker way of creating a hive than laying eggs in one place and waiting.
Tumblr media
As for the other half of this promised equation- the yautja, nicknamed Wolf, was a neat concept and had a lot of promise and cool gadgets, but ended up being a bit bland. (Which feels a bit ironic when the directors admitted to preferring the Predator movies and made Wolf a xenomorph killing badass.)
Sadly, by making him such a silent badass, he just a tool to create plot momentum with no real personality to pick up on. He has almost no interaction with any living humans except when he's fighting xenomorphs and he doesn't have a hunting party so he has nothing to do but melt the evidence and fight.
The fights are fun, though. I just wish they had been better lit.
I'm glad the director of photography wanted to make it look different from the previous AvP and more scary, but then the directors are making a Predator movie and the cameras are making an Alien movie. The xenomorph scenes are great cause they're atmospheric and uncomfortable, but the yautja battles are too dark and confusing to really appreciate the action, and the movie wants to focus more on the yautja battles.
Ultimately, this movie deserved the bad reviews it got when it released and is far inferior to the first, but as a freak that loves horror crossovers and is easy to please; I still loved this movie.

Wolf Yautja x Reader
Summary: You loved living alone in your cottage. You moved out to be alone for a reason, you hated people, and you wanted to be left alone. And you were alone until a certain pair of eyes started following you.
Tumblr media
You saw the news on the TV.
Aliens.
And yet you ignored it.
You tried to live the life you wanted for so long as best as you could.
For as long as you could.
You still took care of your land, fed your animals and did your daily chores as usual.
You did see a couple of ships pass over your home but nothing more.
You have never seen an alien. Only on TV.
It appeared that they were fighting.
Then the government decided to nuke the city to kill both aliens.
It looked like it was the end of it all.
But little did you know, for you, it was only the beginning.
You had a feeling that you were being watched.
The feeling not quite leaving you alone. You tried to look. You walked around your land, in the woods, nothing, no one.
Could it be that you were becoming more and more paranoid? Could it be because of isolation?
You were imagining things.
Until one evening, when you heard noises inside your house.
Loud distinctive noises of someone walking around.
Fear struck you.
You couldn't move out of bed. You just laid there, blankets up to your chin as you were shaking. Your heart beat out of your chest as the door to your room opened.
The person was huge, way too tall for a human, they had to dodge under the door to move in.
Then, came a clicking sound.
This is when you realized, this was no human.
There was a God damn alien in your home!
You knew you couldn't do anything. This thing could tear you apart in a matter of seconds.
You pretended to be asleep, hoping it would leave.
It watched you for a minute or two, which for you felt like an eternity before it left.
After the alien creature left, you rushed to see how it got in.
All doors and windows were locked from the inside. But you surely heard its footsteps moving into the woods next to your home.
You were utterly confused.
How did it get in?!
Why did it get in? What did it want?
It didn't take anything, it didn't hurt you, so what could it want?!
For the upcoming days, you didn't sleep.
The thing came every night, sometimes late in the night sometimes earlier. It just stood there and did nothing.
By the third time you were considering asking it what did it want. Or staying awake to see how it would react.
But you were too afraid.
Then two weeks later, as you were leaving your home, the skull of a deer with antlers was on your porch. It was placed there delicately, facing the door so you wouldn't miss it.
You were sure it was the alien.
Was this its sign to show you that it could kill you? You already knew that.
You took the skull and left it on your porch. You thought if you ignored it long enough, it would get tired and just leave you alone.
But it didn't.
The next day, another animal skull was placed on your steps. Looked to be a cat or a dog.
Then, something like a fox and finally, a wolf skull.
You began to have quite a collection. But you didn't understand. Was this thing trying to intimidate you?
It was working.
You just refused to leave because you spent your life building this place into a home.
But, was your life worth staying?
It showed that it could easily kill you.
But then why was it hiding?
Why did it already kill you and take what it wanted?
What did it want?
Yautja prided themselves if they died during a fight.
It was the most honourable death they could ever ask for.
He fought many xenomorphs. One even left its scar on him.
And yet, now as he was fighting, he survived.
He got back on his ship and left, but his ship got damaged and it broke down in the woods.
Wolf had to fix his ship so he could go back to Yautja Prime.
On his way to find some materials he could use he stumbled upon a farm, he knew some humans lived out in the wild in their houses, away from other humans.
He hid behind a tree and observed, trying to figure out if this human opposed any danger to him.
The first time he saw you was when you took care of your crops.
He concluded that you were nothing but a harmless little human.
And yet, for the next two weeks, he found himself watching you. He sat up on the tree and watched you all day and fixed his ship all night.
He walked around your crops, looking at everything.
To him, it was clear that you were a provider. Much like the females on his planet, you took care of food while the males hunted.
But you had no male. Which was quite interesting to him.
How come no male humans wanted you as their mate?
One night, he got brave and decided to go inside the house while you slept.
He checked your home and found nothing of interest besides you.
He watched as you slept.
He stood there for hours, watching you.
You were so different from him, yet so similar.
You preferred to be alone, much like him.
You didn't have a mate, much like him.
He liked you. Which was extremely rare for him. During his life, he never looked for anyone like he did for you.
And so, he made his decision.
He will court you, win you and bring you back to his planet.
It was a simple plan for him.
And so, the first skull was placed on your doorstep.
You yawned as you got out of the bath, heading to the kitchen for some water before heading to bed, you stopped in your tracks.
It was here.
It was standing right in front of you. It was huge and grey and green and tall and... and you nearly fainted.
You knew you couldn't fight this thing.
You had no chance against it.
It raised its hands and pulled its helmet off, revealing its face.
This alien looked a lot like the one you saw on the TV once.
The one that fought the other.
You noted the scar on its face as it made a clicking sound. It started to walk towards you, you backed up into the fridge.
It raised its hand and placed a palm against your cheek. You looked into its eyes for the first time.
And somehow, you felt calm.
It made you calm down.
He made you calm down.
"What do you want?" you asked, hoping he would understand.
But he just made the same clicking sound as he did before.
"Why did you leave the skulls?" you asked and he moved his hand to the armour on his wrist and pushed a couple of buttons.
"Gi-fts." said a very broken robotic voice.
"Why did you leave me gifts?" you watched as he pushed more buttons.
"Gifts for Mate."
"Mate?" you asked and he nodded. Realization hit you and you realized, he was leaving you gifts so that he could court you. This must be an alien custom. "What are you?"
"Yautja."
"What's your name?"
"Wolf." the machine seemingly translated his name, but it was okay. "Your name?"
"My name is Y/N."
He nodded again.
"I want to take you to my planet. So we can marry." your eyes widened.
"Marry?"
"Strong female," he pointed at you, "Strong male." you would have assumed that he would have some issue having to marry you, wouldn't they only marry their own?
"Give me time. Two months. T-Then I will go with you." what were you saying? Why did you say that?! You didn't want to go! But you had no other options! This... Wolf clearly would get what he wants.
Maybe... those two months will be enough for you to get used to the thought.
Maybe those two months will be enough for you to grow some form of attachment.
Maybe... hopefully.
For the next two months, he stayed with you in the house.
The first week there was a lot of rain and storm so you were inside.
Most of the time you just kept looking at him or watched TV. He didn't speak, but he did notice the skulls you put up above your fireplace.
It filled him with pride, it meant you liked his presents.
That you accepted his courting.
For the upcoming days you cooked for both of you, since you weren't exactly sure what food he liked, you tried steak with potatoes. You can't go wrong with that.
And you didn't. He enjoyed it very much. Then the next day, he brought you cut meat, from where you were afraid to ask.
But you did cook everything that he brought to your home.
And he ate it all.
He still watched as you slept.
But instead of panicking, you found yourself enjoying having him there. He made you feel safe and you found that you wouldn't be able to fall asleep without him in the room.
You woke up each and every morning more and more comfortable in his presence, which did make you worry.
Turned out, you didn't hate company, you hated human company.
Wolf being the big alien that he was tried his best to be careful around you. He followed you everywhere, he watched you and learned.
He learned a lot about you from just watching you in the woods, but now, now he knew even more.
He saw the way you worked, how gentle and delicate you could be. But he also watched you chop up wood, showing that you can be strong when need be.
He liked it.
He was proud to pick such an amazing Mate.
It was the last day, two months had gone by and his ship was ready, he was ready.
He entered your house and found you in the kitchen, you looked out your window as if trying to memorize everything. But when you realized that he was behind you, you turned and smiled at him. A gesture he wished he could give back.
"I'm almost ready." you said with a heavy heart, but you were also ready to leave and be with Wolf, see where that path would take you.
And you felt ready for the adventure, it scared you but you felt ready.
You just wanted to remember this place.
You looked back out the window when he came up behind you, standing behind you, you felt his huge body but you didn't feel scared.
It felt good.
He felt safe.
He was a good two heads taller than you.
You didn't say a word as you turned around and looked at him. You really looked at his scar and his eye. You knew he still could see with it, but his vision wasn't the best on that one.
You could also assume that one of his... mandibles was missing. It's place is still present.
You wished you could ask, you wished he could tell you. He lowered himself, allowing you to reach his face as you reached up and ran your fingers down his scars.
You wished you were there to help him, you could have eased his pain.
And, just like that, you were ready.
--- 3 years later ---
Yautja Prime was very different from Earth.
Yautja were very different from humans.
You learned that Wolf was quite the loner. His name fit him very well.
He preferred to be alone in his home, working on his ship or head on a mission for a hunt.
He liked being with you.
You two were very similar.
You didn't enjoy the company of others, but you enjoyed having the others around.
On your wedding night, Wolf told you how Yautja found their mates.
He also told you about true mates. Which is what you would call soulmates.
He explained how he felt as if you two were true mates and you didn't agree at the time, but now you did.
Spending your last three years with him, you can confidently say that you are in love with him.
You only feel complete when he is there.
And from what he told you, he felt the same. You wore the necklace he gifted you with pride.
And you waited for him every day when he was away on a hunt. He always came back victorious with many gifts.
He proved his worth to you as a male and a Mate.
And so, you never once regretted coming with him. Even if you were nervous in the beginning.
He made sure you had a warm bed, filled with furs.
Every night he came to the bed, he held you close to him, keeping your smaller body close and safe.
You slept with the confidence of having him there. Knowing he would protect you if anything was to happen.
Not like anything ever did.
You found yourself not missing your old life.
The view you spent so much time trying to memorize, long forgotten.
All because of him.
You woke up every morning in his arms.
His body wasn't warm nor was it cold. But the feeling of his skin under your fingers always lets you know that he was there.
And you couldn't ask for more.

Imagine your Yautja mate giving you “kisses” by slowly and gently running their mandibles along your jaw and neck; playfully nuzzling and nipping at your soft skin.
Imagine their purring and little clicks getting louder when you wrap your arms around their broad frame and hold onto them tightly, all the while giggling and encouraging their affections.♡

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007, The Strause Brothers)
05/03/2024
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is a 2007 film directed by the Strause Brothers.
The film was released in the United States on December 25, 2007, in Germany and Australia on December 26, 2007, and in the rest of the UE on January 25, 2008.
From the corpse of the Predator Scar, infected at the end of the first film, a Predalien emerges, a Xenomorph born from Yautja and therefore much stronger than a Xenomorph born from a human.
Mrs. Yutani is the one who will soon co-found Weyland-Yutani.
Work began on September 25, 2006 in Vancouver, also changing the name several times.
In Italy, viewing of the film was prohibited for minors under 18, while in the United States only for unaccompanied minors under 17.
However, it received heavy panning from critics, recording a 12% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film also received two nominations for Worst Prequel or Sequel and Worst Pretext for a Horror Film at the 2007 Razzie Awards.

Wolf Predator x Werewolf Reader Part 1
The smell of blood was heavy due do the pouring rain; the full moon was at its highest in the sky, y/n watched the humans take off in a helicopter. Y/n then looked at the Predator battling an alien, y/n hasn't seen this predator before.
He looks very different than the ones y/n meet.
Three predators, young and not skilled. Only one survived against an alien queen. Even the alien the predator fights looks different, the alien looks more like a predator.
Y/n watches as the evolved alien push the predator into a wall, the alien begins trying to bite the predator. The predator dodges the assault, the predator then spears the evolved aliens head with a wrist blade. The evolved alien was about to stab the predator with its tail.
Y/n decides to make a move.
In y/n werewolf form you stand about 9 feet tall. Y/n is all black, muscular, your eyes glow an ocean blue color.
Teeth like knife's, claws like spears. Y/n sneaks behind the evolved alien, y/n grabs its tail, you were about to use its tail to stab it in the heart. When another evolved alien tackles y/n into the ground.
Y/n is still holding on to the other evolved alien's tail. Y/n goes through the floor, with the evolved alien on top of y/n. You land on the ground with a thud, the evolved alien bites y/n, but y/n hide is tuff and thick, the alien could not penetrate y/n skin. Y/n gets up and grabs the evolved alien, y/n pins it to the wall, holding the alien by its neck with y/n left hand.
The evolved alien tries to stab you with its tail, but it is futile. Y/n puts its head in y/n mouth, then y/n bites down, nothing but blood and brain matter remain.
Y/n looks in your right hand a sees the evolved alien's tail with the spine attached. Y/n drops the tail and y/n begins climbing back to the roof, you see the predator's helmet, you pick up the helmet.
Y/n then walks and stands in front of the predator, y/n hands him his helmet. The predator takes it from you and puts it on, you stand a couple of feet taller than the Predator, on the left side of the predator's face has scaring from alien acid, the Predator is also missing a mandible and left eye is pure white. The predator also has black braids, the predator begins to make clicking sounds.
Y/n tilts your head, y/n hear a women's voice coming from the predator, "thank you", y/n tilts your head to the right the predator does the same. Y/n shifts to your human form "Name", the predator makes more clicking sounds.
Y/n hears a robotic voice "Wolf", y/n smiles at the predator "I am y/n, a werewolf".
"Werewolf", the robotic voice says, y/n nods.
Wolf bends down a bit to look closer at y/n face, he looks at the marking on y/n face "blooded". Y/n nods at wolf "meet your kind before, killed Xenomorphs before". Wolf stands up, and begins walking away, y/n watches him.
Wolf then turns around and signals y/n to follow.
Y/n follows wolf through the sewers then through a forest. Y/n then smells predator blood, y/n follows Wolf for a mile, when y/n sees a fallen ship. A strong smell of blood is coming the ship, wolf passes the ship and leads y/n to a lake; he turns and looks at you. Wolf points to the middle of the lake, "underwater", Wolf nods.
"Understood", y/n begins walking into the water, you are waist deep in the water. Y/n turns your head a bit and you see wolf beginning to walk into the water. Y/n follows him underwater, the pod door begins to open.
Wolf swims inside, y/n follows him, the pod door closes.
The pod lights turn on, it begins letting out the water. Y/n and wolf are chest to chest, the pod wasn't made for two. Wolf looks to the right, y/n follows his gaze, red marking begins showing. Wolf presses something, then the pod begins making a noise.
Then the pod starts ascending quickly, y/n holds on to wolf. Once the pod stopped moving y/n let go of wolf, the pod door opens. Y/n turns around and walks out, but then y/n hears a low growl from wolf.
Y/n was about to turn around when Wolf walked quickly in front of y/n.
You follow him, the ship was very small compared to the one y/n had seen. Wolf stops at a door, the door slides open, reviling a cockpit. Wolf walks to controls, he sits in the chair.
Y/n walks in and stands near him, you can see Wolf typing on a screen. Strange markings like in the pod show up. Wolf then begins clicking, he looks at y/n "heading home".
Y/n nods at him, Wolf press a button and the ship begins getting ready for take-off.
