A paper crown and a heart made of glass
A tattered gown and a kingdom of ash
She walks alone, she could never look back
The story of a queen whose castle has fallen to the sea
She'll make it out, but she's never the same
She's looking down at the scars that remain
But you hold your ground
When your kingdom's in flames
'Cause it's the story of a queen
Whose castle has fallen to the sea
Knowing there's no one who will be
A king that will come and save his queen
When all she needs, when all she wants, when all she finds
When all she is and ever was is compromised
'Cause there's no one to love her
When you build your walls too high
And there's no one to love you
When you build your walls too high

can u recommend some bands? i think i like ur music taste and i am terrible at finding music
ty :)
of COURSE I can <3 you’ve probably heard of some of these, but maybe there’ll be some you haven’t! I don’t know what you already like, so… here we go :)
Hozier. Yeah this was always going to be first on the list I’m currently listening to basically nothing else! He’s an Irish folk/soul/blues/etc idk musician who uses a lot of religious and mythological themes in his lyrics and has a lot of songs that include social justice commentary.
The Amazing Devil is a folk rock band with an incredibly unique sound. Their songs are incredibly emotional and have an awesome fantasy vibe going on—plus there’s two singers, and they often sing independently from each other, which is something you don’t see often!
Good Morning Bedlam is a bluegrass band that I’ve gotten into recently! They’re sort of like… a mix of the amazing devil and the crane wives?
The Crane Wives, while we’re at it, and
The Oh Hellos. they’re fairly similar and I don’t have a ton to say about their stylistic differences, but they’re all definitely worth checking out!
Florence & The Machine. Most people have heard of them but I always like to recommend them anyway
Alec Benjamin, if you’re into softer indie music! He has a lot of different styles of lyrics, but his voice is consistent, so he’s great to listen to if you’re looking for that sort of variety.
Chxrlotte doesn’t have a lot of music out, but I’m a big fan of the music she has released, including the ones about Good Omens! The others are more angsty which I love too.
The Family Crest is an orchestral indie pop rock band, which blows my mind. I can’t believe orchestra isn’t a more utilized tool in popular lyrical music, because they do it so well.
Good Kid is actually my brother’s favorite band, and I love them too. They’re also indie rock, but they have a very distinctive style and are easy to get into! Plus they haven’t released a shit ton of songs like some other artists, so it isn’t overwhelming to explore their discography.
Jonatha Brooke is an artist I only know about because my mom liked her music a lot in the 90s, but she’s got a super nice voice and has some awesomely relatable lyrics. I especially recommend her album Ten Cent Wings!
Midlake is a super melodic folk rock band. I’m obsessed with their album The Courage of Others, which has a melancholy vibe that’s super easy to get lost in.
Palaye Royale is harder rock than anyone else on the list so far, but they’ve got an awesome style. Unique voice and definitely darker themes in their lyrics.
Tears for Fears is a pop rock band that I love because my dad does. (My parents are musicians—I trust their music taste).
Toad the Wet Sprocket got their name from Monty Python, but PLEASE go listen to the Architect of the Ruin EP. You will not regret it. Also the song Something’s Always Wrong is like… entrenched in my very being.
Elbow is a band that I never see in fandom circles, but they’re definitely not obscure. Check out their album Little Fictions! They’re kind of like Midlake.
Will Wood ranges from chaotic and fun (The Normal Album) to absolutely soul-crushing (in case I make it)! Sometimes even both at the same time!
(I would’ve also put Paramore, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and other rock/pop punk bands I like on there, but I assumed you already know them.) (If you were looking for harder rock or metal, let me know, because this list is not that.)
If you want more genre-specific recs or even album/song recs, don’t hesitate to ask!! Music is the fuel of my soul.

Do you ever just look at your favourite songs by a specific singer and think does this say something about me that other people would find concerning?

Outrunning Karma - Billy Hargrove Song Comic Pg.1
Image Text [ Outrunning karma that boy... He's such a charmer all the bugs & the larva follow him out to California.]
Song by Alec Benjamin
I’ll be uploading the pages as I finish these because I’m not entirely sure how long it will take me to do each page. There's only 10 pages though so it shouldn’t be too long! Billy is driving through Texas in this scene on his way to California. This page doesn't have as much symbolism in it as the next 9 pages will, but there is a couple that if you see it, feel free to point it out!
Also, this comic will contain references to abuse, the treatment that Billy and Max went through, as well as depression and internalized homophobia.

bad astrology by flower face
#yellowjackets#jackieshauna#ITS DONE OMG ITS FINISHED#what do I do now. with my life (ranking)#also ive decided i am gonna do literary analysis. on all of em#literally i have NO idea if anyone cares. well. i do bc I care and tbh that's enough to me#<- guys look im living so healthy#anyways this was a blast#hope somebody has at least discovered flower face trhu me bc its one of my fav artists#mitos incredible life#mine art tag#also im sorry the like long scenes 3 and 4 arent on beat :/ i love that song but it has so long instrumental stuff and idk what to do there#ALSO!! i had it all planned out like at least half in my docs (like always)#and then in the middle i was like 'omg what if I only show jackie-after-the-argument and shauna-after-jackies-dead'#(excluding the argument and the flashbacks (they used to hear us thru the floor))#which was. restricting. very much#also meaning was changed (originally wanted jackie to have the line 'idc if ure not made for me' but the only scene i could think of was th#ure hungry for and that was the next scene already so.)#anyways this was originally gonna be lottienat before i started with The Shark In Your Water#bc I thiught it fit them SO well. (still do) but now I like have to get away from the jackieshauna thought and then ill do the lottienat#probably#omg also I want everyone (who has read this far. whoever would do that) to know i was running on like 25 screen#recordings and 3 jackieshauna scene packs form yt#that's why. I dknt have that many clips alright im not using like 10 scenes over n over on purpose#gotta go but im gonna make a wrap post thingy once im back slay#no actually I get like average 7 notes (<- that's a lie Idk bc I didnt count) but im proud of myself this is amazing#ive wanted to do smth similiar alr#but it was some album by alec benjamin and a different thing for every song (like a poem‚ a painting or a play)#but I lost motivation this is the first thing that i actually pulled though all the way I think#jackieshauna: The Shark In Your Water

My oc Dalia and her little robo-brother <333
She likes to tinker ala Tinkerbell, but her experiments always end up in a computer or robot short-circuiting. Except this one for some reason. He has survived, against all odds.
Her father's plan was to give her a new toy to experiment on but she ended up *cough* giving him sentience *cough* I mean– with a new brother.
Now she's gonna teach him stuff. U know, about feelings and organic life.

And what if I want to write another song analysis nobody cares about? You can't stop me. This one's gonna be about how Outrunning Karma by Alec Benjamin fits Itadori Yuuji because it does. It simply does. I know Itadori feels like he'll never atone for what happened in Shibuya, and this song really exemplifies that guilt. I don’t care if people think Alec Benjamin is considered cringe now I do what I want.
Tumblr media
"Outrunning karma, that boy / He's such a charmer, all the / bugs and their larva follow / him out to Colorado." -> Itadori is a charmer; he’s really nice, funny, respectful but in a charming, boy-ish way. He has the fabled Unshakeable Spirit that makes him respected by his peers. But this attitude, this charm, this unshakeable spirit, it makes people want to break him. That’s how we get Mahito, the bugs and larva, hellbent on destroying that willpower. That’s how we get his broken spirit, with the weight of thousands of deaths following him no matter where he goes.
"Ten-dozen hearts in a bag / Their bodies lyin', he'll drag / them down to Colorado / A modern desperado." -> He can’t abandon the burden of Shibuya. He’ll take them wherever they go — nothing anybody will do will get him to forgive himself, to let go of the bag of a thousand bleeding hearts. He will always carry their lives with him. I like the second part of the stanza, too, about the desperado. A series of violent crimes, or it could be a reference to the movie: a man is thrust into a dark underground, and in an attempt to rid the world of a drug lord, he leaves a trail of bodies in his wake. I can’t think of a more accurate description/comparison of Itadori’s story.
"And he'll race for miles through the night / he runs because he knows he cannot hide." -> I believe, just for a moment, he wanted to run. Run from the world that made him the vessel of the King of Curses, run from himself, run from the curses and Shibuya and the Culling Games.
"He's never gonna make it, all the / poor people he's forsaken, karma / is always gonna chase him for his lies.“ -> But he knows running would not absolve him of his guilt. Leaving the Jujutsu world will not change the fact that he believes he killed all those people, it will not change anything. The souls of those he failed will always follow him.
“It's just a game of waiting from the / church steeple down to Satan karma / There's really no escape until he dies." -> Just as the lyric says, it’s all a waiting game for Itadori. He has one goal: save Megumi. That was what gave Itadori the will to keep going, after Todo lost his hands and the world collapsed around him. Megumi have him this one goal, and when it’s all over, he will wait for his judgement. There is no escaping his karma for “not being strong enough” to suppress Sukuna until he is finally executed. Only death, only the final judgement, will give him salvation.
"Outrunning karma, that boy / can't run no farther, it's the last days of Sparta, follow / him down to meet Apollo." -> It’s the final fight. The only place he would run was straight to the Culling Games to kill Sukuna, to fight for the soul of Fushiguro Megumi and those that have been killed along the way. In this instance, Apollo was the patron god of Sparta. Even though he was “good”, he could bring mass destruction with the tip of his arrow in the form of a plague. Just as Itadori brings good, but as a vessel, he brought destruction to the city. A plague of curses. Also, as referenced in the chorus. Christianity actually demonized Apollo as a malevolent deity. Evil. If we take this interpretation, it’s still talking about the same instance: Itadori will follow Sukuna until the King of Curses has perished. He was willing to even fight him for all of eternity in Hell, as mentioned when he died and Sukuna forged a pact with him.
"And he'll brace for battle in the night / he fights because he knows he cannot hide." -> He can’t run from Shibuya, he can’t hide, so he will do this one final act and fight. Fight for the lives unrightfully taken under Sukuna’s fingertips, fight to kill Sukuna, fight to save Megumi. This, he knows, is his only fate.
Itadori is so tragic. I really need him to save Megumi and together they can heal, because that’s what they do, right? Save each other from their toxic mindsets. They’ve been doing it since Season 1. They will do it again and again and again.
