A bit of a crackfic because I'm like that so be prepared for hints of that!

This is also gender neutral and it's pretty short because it's a prologue.

I'm also giving you some animal companions because I said so-

Prologue - Am I Dead?

It was just a normal winter day. The sky was clear and blue, snow covered the ground and most of the animals are in hibernation.

But a certain (h/c) person was going down a hill at speeds equal to a bullet train on a sled, laughing as they slide down. You threw your arms up, turning around a tree. As you slide down a flat surface, you crashed into a boulder. Thankfully, you had no serious injuries, but your sled was destroyed.

"Aww.... My sled's broken..." You muttered, holding up some pieces of the broken sled. You suddenly laughed, turning your hand a bit while it started to glow. The pieces of the sled moved around, going into its places and soon, the sled was all brand new, not a single trace of damage on it.

"Good as new." You said to yourself, smiling at the newly repaired sled. You looked up at the sky, noticing that it was getting dark and decided to head back home. As soon as you entered your home, a small blur of pink came rushing at you, jumping into your arms. It was one of your animal companions, and she was excited to see you again.

"Hello to you too, Yume." You said, hugging the small creature close to your chest. Yume is a small pale pink fox with six fluffy tails and dark pink doe like eyes. (She basically looks like a fusion between a Vulpix and an Alcremie. I'm a bit of a Pokemon player lmao) She was a dream spirit, one of the rarest creatures in your world.

"Mei!" Yume exclaimed, rubbing her head against your chest. You held Yume and walked to the back of your home, which held most of your other animal companions. Your biggest one was a massive serpent with shiny scales and ocean blue eyes. She looked at you and nudged your head. You laughed and put Yume down, pulling out two cooked alligators. (Don't ask, just roll with it 😂)

"Hungry, girl?" You asked, holding up the two alligators to your serpent. She sniffed the alligators and chewed on them, eating it slowly. You smiled at her, patting her head as she ate the two alligators.

"Guess you were. Good night." You said, patting all of your animal companions and telling them good night. You exited the room and made your way to your room, with Yume following you all the way. You hopped in your bed, laying down as Yume got into a pouncing position, wagging her butt and jumped up on the bed. She approached you and curled up into a ball, purring in her sleep. You stroked her fur, feeling yourself falling asleep.

"Night, Yume...." You mumbled.

"...... Wake up..... Wake up, miss." An unfamiliar voice whispered. You felt hands shaking your shoulders gently, repeatedly telling you to wake up. You slowly opened your eyes, your vision a bit blurry but it became clear after you fluttered them a couple of times. You groaned, sitting up from what seemed like a sort of infirmary.

"Ugh, who's there?..." You groaned out, yawning and rubbing your eyes. The person who was trying to wake you up was a young girl who looked like an teenager. The girl had light purple hair and green eyes. She wore a orange jacket over a white shirt along with black shorts and one long black sock. She also wore shoes that looked modern.

"You're awake! I thought you were dead." The girl spoke, looking a bit scared of you. You just stared at her for a full minute before you jumped out of the bed.

"HOLY MOTHER OF STARS, WHERE AM I AND WHERE ARE MY CHILDREN?!" You shouted out, pulling out your weapon. The girl screamed in fear, backing away from you.

"I DON'T KNOW WHERE THEY ARE! DON'T KILL ME, PLEASE!" The girl begged, using her arms to shield her face. You immediately calmed down, lowering your weapon and gave her a smile.

"Okay!" You answered, a flowery aura appearing around you. The girl was shocked at the sudden change of your behaviour. She lowered her arms down, taking some steps towards you.

"So.... Are you a goddess?" She asked hesitantly.

"Well, yes, but actually no." You answered, leaving the girl confused. You froze when a woman with dark hair and the same eyes as the girl come in the room.

"You're awake. Good." The woman spoke, looking at you with a neutral expression on her face. You had to admit, she was pretty, especially with the wing clip in her hair. You blinked at the woman.

"Who the hell are you two?" You finally asked, pointing at both of the females. Seemingly recognising your divine aura, the woman bowed down.

"Forgive us. I am the eldest sister of the Valkyries, Brunhilde. And this is Göll, the youngest sister." Brunhilde introduced herself and the girl named Göll.

"Okay, but where am I? Am I dead?" You asked. Brunhilde got up and straighten her attire and cleared her throat.

"No, you're in Valhalla." That answer made you short circuit. That was the last place you wanted to be in.

"WHHHHHAAAATTTTTT?!"

Also if the Death Note cast were gym leaders, what types do you think they would specialize in? I'm tempted to say L is Dark, Light is Dragon (Kira is Poison?), Misa is Fairy, and Matsuda is Normal, but idk.

TYPE SPECIALISATION

hate to say it because I want to give him one of my favourite types (dark, dragon, water, ice) but he's a fairy type. he's a fairy type all the way. he loves how pink and fluffy and sweet-like they are.

MAIN: Fairy

SUPPLEMENTAL: Psychic, Grass, Ghost

TEAM

Gardevoir: Psychic / Fairy

Gardevoir form strong bonds with their Trainer and will do anything to protect them. L needs someone to look after him. In addition, Psychic types are generally known for their intelligence, and Gardevoir is a strong Pokémon. A good choice all around!

Mimikyu: Ghost / Fairy

It's kind of like an adorable toy! L is oddly fond of such things because they remind him of childhood, which he never really had. Also it likes the dark and wears a mask to hide from the world, so that's basically like L pftahhahjhahassja

Milcery: Fairy

This is a floating blob of cream! Can you imagine a more delicious wonderful Pokémon?! Milcery also brings good luck to bakeries, which L likes because he wants the places he likes to prosper. In addition, it evolves into Alcremie, which gives its Trainer sweets! L can't wait.

Shiinotic: Grass / Fairy

This Pokémon send people to sleep, which L is very grateful for as it helps override his insomnia. It also makes defeating other Pokémon easy, and L's lazy in ways like these. He likes to get fights over with quickly. I don't think he joins tournaments or anything.

Swirlix: Fairy

L wanted to catch this Pokémon because it smells and looks like cotton candy. Unfortunately, all it does is make him hungry, and Swirlix itself also likes eating lots of sweets... However, L forms strong bonds with all his Pokémon so he'd just buy more sweets lmao.

Clefairy: Fairy

Clefairy is the epitome of a Fairy type! Pink, cute and caring. It's also popular but hard to find, which makes L pretty proud of himself. But the real reason he caught it was because he was sick and thought it was an escaped Chansey...

LIGHT 🖋️

TYPE SPECIALISATION

I thought Light's was easy, then I started thinking and I was tossing up between adding Dragon, Dark or Psychic. HAHSJHAHA your Poison note was my favourite, it suits. Some of these Pokémon are more Light-y, some are more Kira-y.

MAIN: Fire

SUPPLEMENTAL: Poison, Steel, Fighting

TEAM

Salazzle: Poison / Fire

This uses poisonous gas to manipulate people into being its slaves... Replace poisonous gas with poisonous words and that sounds familiar. Plus, Light probably liked the look in its eyes HDHAHDHDH

Arcanine: Fire

A strong, loyal and all around awesome fire Pokémon. Arcanine is also often used by Officer Jenny as a police dog, and I think Light would subconsciously align himself with the law by doing this, because he sees himself as law and justice.

Combusken: Fire / Fighting

Light got this guy as a Torchic, for his starter Pokémon, and is actually fond of it. It's his family. I think he'd really like chickens for some reason, maybe cause of the chicken and egg thing... Anyway, he likes how it uses its legs to fight (maybe he's associating it with someone...).

Iron Moth: Fire / Poison

Even though it's more space and UFO-ish, there's something about it matching records in an old book and observing humanity that reminds me of a Shinigami. So I thought this Pokémon would be oddly fitting for Light, thought I can't imagine how he caught it considering “no records exist of this species being caught”...

Heatran: Fire / Steel

IT LIVES IN A VOLCANO!! Light was definitely super into volcanoes as a kid (couldn't be me lol) so he'd probably make it his personal mission to catch and befriend one of these guys. They're magma and can climb on ceilings and walls.. pretty cool hehe

Sneasler: Fighting / Poison

It's kind of like an evil-looking Meowth, huh? It's poisonous and strong and likes to live alone. Light can respect that (but at the same time went to capture one... not very Loner of him). He would also like mountains.

I got lazy and only did flats, but there's a small art thing for the other characters at the end

MISA 💝

TYPE SPECIALISATION

Fairy would have worked, but I think Misa would go with the basic cute Pokémon, plus a couple of dark ones. like in canon: she's not goth (I believe that's the style) but sometimes dresses like it.

MAIN: Normal

SUPPLEMENTAL: Electric, Flying, Dark

TEAM

Furret: Normal

I think one of Misa's main criteria when catching a Pokémon is cuteness. They have Pokémon fashion shows, iirc, which would be Misa's thing. Anyway, this is a cute, nimble Pokémon and it can move through small spaces, which is surprisingly useful for Misa.

Oricorio (Pom-Pom): Electric / Flying

I have an Oricorio card and it's surprisingly strong!! It looks cute and has like 60HP but can deal 100 damage which seems Misa-ish. She also loves that this type's feathers match her hair. And the bird thing matches with Light's chicken thing.

Eevee: Normal

do I need to explain this...

brain says yes I do. she's a little bit basic when it comes to liking cute Pokémon, so Eevee was a must! She hopes it evolves into a Sylveon, but it's probably gonna become a Jolteon lmao

Ditto: Normal

It's cute and versatile! Though it has a really bad sense of humour and laughs at lots of things.. I think Misa would default to having it as a Stufful. I was going to give her a Stufful actually but it was the wrong type djjdjf.

Morpeko: Electric / Dark

Misa thinks this thing is adorable and appreciates that it has a darker side. She also finds it super cute when it's eating, which is lucky, considering its reaction to hunger. That said, she kind of loves how troublesome it is when it's hungry...

Bombirdier: Flying / Dark

Misa thinks this is a very elegant Pokémon, and caught it expecting refinement. However, it just drops things everywhere... Things that make loud noises... Misa jumps every time.

MATSUDA 🦆

TYPE SPECIALISATION

His was a little funny to figure out. Oddly enough, I really don't think he'd be normal, so I went full nature version. Water and earth and all. Honestly he probably catches Pokémon regardless of type, just tends to hang out in these types' habitats more.

MAIN: Water

SUPPLEMENTAL: Grass, Rock, Bug

TEAM:

Wartortle: Water

Because of course he picked Squirtle for his starter Pokémon (affectionately). Matsu loves this fella and appreciates its much-needed wisdom. Apparently Wartortle's very old. I don't know how Pokémon time works, but I feel like Matsu would love old things, animals, people...

Swadloon: Bug / Grass

This is in my opinion one of the funniest and cutest looking Pokémon ever and something about it was so Matsuda-ish. He would also love that it helps the ecosystem, and though he felt bad about taming it he really wanted to be friends!!

Magikarp: Water

Matsuda caught one of these guys because L always said they reminded him of Matsuda. He's a little sad that L sees him as “the most pathetic useless Pokémon ever” but at least it's pretty darn cute and has lots of potential (evolution wise), right?

Omanyte: Rock / Water

It's been restored from an ancient species, and Matsuda probably has an interest in archaeology or something so he finds that cool. Plus, they're being released into the wild too much and becoming a problem. He thinks they're kinda like cute squids.

Shuckle: Bug / Rock

SHUCKLE!!! There's something inexplicable about this Pokémon. All it really does is protect itself and hide under a rock, but there's a je ne sais quoi about it. Matsuda is a big fan. It also likes berries and looks a little like a dinosaur.

Lombre: Water / Grass

A nocturnal Pokémon that sleeps on river grass. To be honest, Matsuda probably caught it by accident (if anyone can do that, Matsuda can) one day and just shrugged, said "new friend!" and moved right on.

RIE 🥀

mwahaha or something.

TYPE SPECIALISATION

I kept changing her types because the first batch the Pokémon didn't fit and the second batch were too similar to L and Misa. I kept Psychic and Dragon the whole way through, which is why the first four only have one type.

MAIN: Psychic

SUPPLEMENTAL: Dragon, Ice, Bug

TEAM

Dragonair: Dragon

An angelic and peaceful Pokémon that can change the weather! Plus, Dragonair seems very majestic and beautiful. Rie caught it as a Dratini and this is the Pokémon that has been with her the longest, apart from her starter Pokémon of course.

Espeon: Psychic

Rie loves Espeon a lot and was surprised when her Eevee didn't evolve to Sylveon! She probably prefers Espeon for its intelligence and ability to predict other Pokémon. Rie calls it a Poké-Pyschologist even though it deduces actions by physical matters, not psychological.

Goodra: Dragon

It loves the rain and tbh who doesn't? Rie is more the type to sit inside with a warm drink and look out the windows than stand in the rain, though. She also finds Goodra cute and calm, though it does go to 100% when angry... Huh, kinda Rie-ish.

Alakazam: Psychic

Intelligence is a quality Rie needs in her life, or she gets incredibly bored. So of course a Pokémon that remembers everything is on her wavelength. Plus, it looks like it knows magic tricks. (It doesn't. It's close to hitting Rie the next time she asks how to cheat better at cards.)

Snom: Ice / Bug

I discovered this Pokémon while scrolling through the Pokédex for this project and it's my favourite now, so I had to give it to my favourite OC. Rie loves the snow and ice, more than the rain, and this cute little blue porcupine-y thing is “just so perfect.”

Rabsca: Bug / Psychic

She doesn't talk about it because it makes working in a male-dominated field harder, but Rie really wants to be a mother. And canonically, this Pokémon is always caring for an infant! Rie also likes how colourful (poisonous even) and dignified it looks.

(bonus) Kyurem: Dragon / Ice

It's a bonus because Rie wouldn't have it on her team, but if she were to catch a legendary it'd be this guy. Fits with her types and is waiting for a Trainer to fill it with “truth and ideals,” according to the official Pokédex.

Insane person ramblings below cut^_^

I think there are two major routes you can take when attempting to Pokemonize Lloyd. The first is just making him Colress. They are functionally the same character- similar interests, motivations, and morals. AKA generic mad scientist who wishes to create "the strongest machine/weapon/i dont even know", who doesn't care about the violence or sacrifice, arguably works for the wrong side, and remains friendly to the main characters anyway. Like, there genuinely is not much to expand upon there. Just pop out Colress and snap Lloyd into his place and there you go I guess.

(BTW Colress was one of the first characters I was ever deeply obsessed with as a kid. This does not mean anything)

The second route is trying to replace Lloyd's interests with machines into something canon typical that also reflects his role in the series. Unsubtle way of looking you in the eyes and telling you I want him to be a Pokemon Regional Professor so bad because I said so.

(Colress was my original but the chokehold Professor Sycamore has had on me for over a year now......I am not biased at all umm)

While a Pokemon Professor is probably a littleee too goody two shoes and social for Lloyd, it is The role that always implies extreme amounts of research in some dedicated niche. Lloyd can exclusively research man-made/object inspired Pokemon or something! Close enough to robots. Either way, the whole plot of the game is that the Professor chooses a small batch of kids, gives them a strong Pokemon to start off, and then tells them to go collect data, while the kids usually end up changing the world instead. Lloyd's whole role in Code Geass is he gives a strong weapon to Suzaku in exchange for him collecting data, and then Suzaku goes and does fuck whatever with it until the planet is fixed I don't know. Literally the same! And honestly, we just deserve a Pokemon Professor who is a bit of an unlikeable freak.

I do not think Lloyd would care about battling much and I do not think he really cares about Pokemon themselves a whole lot either! But their abilities and possibilities would probably interest him similarly to how he is invested in Knightmares. And even if he acts like he doesn't care, he definitely has a little litter of Aron sleeping in his house.

Anyway code geass pokemon crossover is NEVER going to happen but I think it is silly. There an an Alcremie sitting on his table

Hihi! Hugs! Currently a little bit obsessed with pokemon since the dlc for indigo disk comes out soon (4 days as of now when I'm posting this) so apologies if I'm not posting some pretty lovely otome guy/girl stuff for a little while...I just can't help but live and breathe pokemon until I have terapagos securely in my party! Little baby turtle must cuddle forever and ever!

So for now, I offer you random pokemon teams that remind me of my/your men for no particular reason : (Ikevamp) -> (Tears of Themis)

Arthur (Ikevamp) :

• Popplio -> Primarina line (Because Vic! Ok? I think I'm referring to one of my first posts)

• Applin -> Flapple (Because of that thing when you give someone an Applin you confess your feelings and ensure a happy future together, reminds me of the red ribbon thing ok!!! ><)

• Lillipup -> Stoutland (Remember in Alola how it helped you find stuff like a dowsing machine would in previous gens? It can be a detective-y pokemon! Yay! Also again...dog...Vic...yeah...still this one represents his detective skills)

• Happiny -> Blissey (Arthur's doctor skills and how much he cares! I can see him having a Blissey!)

• Mimikyu (His interest in the occult and its cute)

• Shiny Milcery -> shiny Alcremie (Reminds me of his love of fudge! It just does! Not much of an explanation but yeah, also the blue decorations!)

Isaac (Ikevamp) :

• Porygon-[2-Z] (It's a super math-y pokemon ok! Well at least the most math-y in my opinion, plus it levitates which I think Newt would find cool)

• Magnemite -> Magnezone (Idk it's a pokemon for really smart people and it's a super science-y and professor-y pokemon...so yeah...don't expect me to try and give a physics answer, my brain is fried)

• Applin -> Appletun (Enough said, just has to happen, it's a big cuddly sweet apple pie, Newt...apples...yeah...this one is sweet ok, also the romantic thing about Applin)

• Sandshrew -> Sandslash (Kanto to be exact! Because Harry, need I say more?)

• Hatenna -> Hatterene (Newt is super calm...so I can see a Hatenna sticking around him! It might cutely fall asleep at his desk with him)

• Togepi -> Togekiss (Newt had a thing with Theology, don't quiz me I'm tired, anyways in Sheild the dex entry is "Known as a bringer of blessings, it's been depicted on good-luck charms since ancient times" and I was like...awww Newt might like that...kind of a sweet angelic pokemon)

Napoleon (Ikevamp) :

• Rufflet -> Hisuian Braviary (Jupiter! Because, because, because)

• Honedge -> Aegislash (Have you seen his rapier? Enough said, the man can fight)

• Sewaddle -> Leavanny (Idk this always feels like a nurturing pokemon that I could see in a school as an assistant or smth so it would help out at L'École de Napoleon or smth like that)

• Riolu -> Lucario (It's a smart and just fighter, it fits! Plus it doubles Leon's coolness factor XD)

• Bagon -> Salamence (Bagon wanted a change so bad it happened! The whole flying thing...Leon gets it! He wanted to bring about some change pretty badly so they just kinda connect...plus it's a cool dragon!)

• Komala (Cute napping Koala to cuddle with...need I say more? Even more of a reason to sleep in)

Faust (Ikevamp) :

• Shroodle -> Grafaiai (Mephie! It's a poison type! Yay experiments!)

• Beldum -> Metagross (It's a smart person science-y pokemon that floats!)

• Elgyem -> Beheeyem (It loves experimenting with humans and thier memory so Faust would probably get a kick out of it!)

• Zorua -> Zoroark (He would be fascinated by the shape-shifting and it brings the coolness factor, sorta somewhat matches his vibes)

• Nacli -> Garganacl (It can hurt and heal with its salt powers which might get rather useful for Faust)

• Spiritomb (guy works as a priest...I'm assuming he's had experiences with funerals and stuff and I can see this as his ghost type pokemon)

Vyn (ToT)

• Deerling -> Winter Sawsbuck (Svart's animal is a deer...and Vyn's hair is white ok!)

• Petilil -> Liligant (His love of gardening and elegant things...it just kinda works)

• Ralts -> Gardevoir (seems like a pretty good psych nurse pokemon to help him out with the feelings stuff and all)

•Rowlet -> Decidueye (His love of Archery)

• Fidough -> Dachsbun (His love of sweet things! And pastries)

• Sinistea -> Polteagiest (Authentic! Just because that's the Vyn-est thing he could get in pokemon!)

Marius (ToT)

• Gimmighoul -> Gholdengo (He's a rich fun loving CEO...explain to me why excitable money made surfing ghost isn't up his alley!)

• Smeargle (Artist...yeah...enough said)

• Ekans -> Arbok (His symbol is a purple snake...I couldn't not do this!)

• Luvdisc (Our Marius is sort of a flirt!)

• Pikachu (It's fluffy and as in the public eye as he is...probably felt a lot in common)

• Rotom (I associate Pax with tech so...yeah...idk...it just fits in my mind)

What do you think what type of Pokémon trainer would he be and what type of Pokémon would he have?

I have thoroughly thought this out and has even written this in my Pokémon AU post but I’ll just go into more detail here!

Pokémon AU! Iguro Obanai

“Lord of the Poisons~ welcome him, Iguro Obanai~! He’ll wear down your Pokémon with deadly poisons and drown out your chances of winning~! The one and only Poison Elite Nine”

Type of Pokémon

Obanai uses Poison-type and he would be a Elite Four member(or Elite Nine as to fit the Hashira)

Kaburamaru would be a Shiny Ekans(as Shiny Ekans are the closest to white, small snake Pokémon you can get)

Obanai uses Poison-types solely because Kaburamaru is a Poison-type

Obanai’s choice of his league team is the following in exact order;

Seviper, Scolipede, Drapion, Toxicroak, Crobat & Nidoqueen

Nidoqueen is Obanai’s ace and strongest of his six. The reason Nidoqueen was chosen over Nidoking is as a attempt, to try cure Obanai of his fear over women

Nidoqueen is practically Obanai’s starter Pokémon, gifted from the Master, and she has special IVs and access to a Mega transformation

Whilst all the other five Pokémon on his team are self-found

Type of Trainer

Obanai is extremely strict and tough on his Pokémon. He suspects them to follow his commands with no hesitation and he won’t take shit. If they purposefully disobey him, he’ll punish them

By putting them in the PC at the Pokecentre for a few hours so they learn their lesson

As a Elite Four/Nine, Obanai is one of the nine most powerful Pokémon trainers in Japan and his training schedule reflects this

Obanai uses direct counteractive moves to get around his Pokémon’s weaknesses. Every one of his Pokémon can fight a ground-type or a psychic-type

Kaburamaru is not a battle Pokémon, kept out as a detection and security alarm as his senses are refined. Many shiny collectors try to buy Kaburamaru off Obanai

Anytime Obanai is out of the Tokyo Plateau, he is exploring the forests for specific berries and natural healing to support to defence items to be held by his Pokémon for additional help, alongside his two allowed Super Potions

Obanai is not favouritistic towards any of his six team but with his ace Nidoqueen, he is slightly less tough on as she is his best fighter

Obanai’s main strategy up against enemies is the poisoning status condition. He uses Poison Jab or Cross Poison and once he has inflicted poison, he mixes inbetween offence and defence until the enemy Pokemon faints from poison

However. Obanai is very grateful of and protective over his Pokémon. The moment even just one is injured or fainted, he either rushes it to a pokecentre or uses his own supplies to heal it

Kaburamaru is the only Pokémon that stays out constantly. His team are usually sleeping in their pokeballs unless summoned, Obanai believes they should preserve their strength if not being used

Obanai doesn’t nickname his Pokémon. They all are called by their species like Sanemi. He may shorten down their names at times, as when he called Nidoqueen; “Nido” but that’s it

Obanai’s room in the Tokyo Plateau is a very forest-like environment, full of poison-type Pokémon in the trees. He seems to be fine staying in the room as the Pokémon must be docile

Obanai collects Fairy-type Pokémon to give to Mitsuri. She has a few gift Fairy-types from Obanai and the only non-fighter Pokémon she has shown out, the Alcremie is also from Obanai

Obanai’s Toxicroak is a fun jokester, who messes with his opponents and enjoys playing with younger Pokémon he finds. He gets scolded the most by Obanai for his unserious, light-hearted behaviour

Obanai’s Drapion is a ferocious, emotionless machine built for battling. He doesn’t like his fellow teammates and expresses favouritistic love towards Obanai. He will never disobey Obanai

Obanai’s Scolipede is very calm and friendly. He enjoys setting up Pokecamps and likes to race other Pokémon for fun. He is also a big metalhead, Obanai and him bond over metal music

Obanai’s Seviper is elegant and dark, with a nasty thirst for victims to bite. It simply despises having no attention and enjoys participating in Pokémon contests. He and Obanai have a matching fang of severity

- One where his fingers constantly leak pink Alcremie cream. He can't stop it, and it stains. It smudges his clothes, his hair, his papers, everything.

- One where Ms. Opal takes him out to the depths of the Glimwood Tangle, tells him all of the ways he has disappointed her, and leaves him there. Impidimp in the shadows chuckle at him as he tries to find his way out on his own, but he is only ever met with more trees...

- One where he is locked in a closet. Shouting rages outside. He can't tune it out, regardless of if he covers his ears or tries to sleep or bangs on the door.

- The mural. Over and over again. Sometimes, just exactly as it happened, Copperajah and Rose and all. Sometimes looming in the background of a completely unrelated dream. Sometimes Rose is replaced with Opal. Sometimes, the pieces of rock tumble over him and bury him, and he has to claw his way out. Sometimes, the Macro Cosmos employees who took his wishing stars take him, clawing him to pieces with too-sharp fingernails or escorting him to a police car, all while Rose and Oleana look on with passive unblinking faces. DR POKÉMON TEAMS

Fluffyboy Ralsei!!

1. Wooloo: This cute Pokémon's wool can be used to make scarves (as well as all sorts of other fluffy knit things). It's so fluffy, it won't take any damage even if it falls off a cliff! This Pokémon not only resembles Ralsei, but is also a reference to Asriel's team in Pokémon Undertale. I like to think Wooloo is the one whose wool Ralsei collects to make his own clothes in the Dark World. Wooloo is based off a black sheep, and its black-and-white colouration can be a reference to Ralsei's appearance changing depending on if he wears his hat.

2. H. Zorua: Ralsei shares this illusion-crafting Pokémon with Lancer, although Ralsei's is a ghost and normal type regional varient of Zorua. This white Zorua resembles its trainer. It even has a red "scarf"! According to its Pokédex entry, "This Pokémon has a cowardly disposition, so when it's not around friends, it basically always stays transformed as something else." We don't know what Ralsei's "overworld"/Light World counterpart is, but it very well could be a plushie that looks like this Pokémon!

3. Woobat: Woobat lives in dark places and caves. It leaves behind heart-shaped marks where it sticks to walls. It is said that if a person finds themselves with the same mark, it is a sign of good fortune and friendship. Speaking of friendship, this Pokémon evolves with high friendship. I like to imagine it will reach its second form, Swoobat, during Ralsei's adventures with his friends Susie and Kris.

4. Mimikyu: Mimikyu is a lonely, dark form with a hand-sewn costume. It resembles something that already exists, but it's definitely something different. It remind me of Ralsei's training dummy, and the way he shyly hid under his hate for the entire first chapter of the game. It is here for many of the same reasons I put it on Papyrus's team (I wonder...if Papyrus ever goes on a Dark World adventure and ends up in Undertale with Sans...could this be where Papyrus's own Mimikyu came from?)

5. Jigglypuff: This adorable, fluffy, pink Pokémon sings to put foes to sleep, and it evolves into a very fluffy, very cute, very STRONG Wigglytuff. Its big ol' eyes remind me of Ralsei's own big and adorable eyes behind his round glasses. They almost have the same curl of hair on their heads! I wonder if Ralsei copied Jigglypuff, or if Jigglypuff gets it hair styled by Prince Fluffyboy.

6. Alcremie: The sweet cream Pokémon, it is adorable and sweet and references Ralsei's affinity for baking. It is a mirror to Lancer's Mr. Mime. According to the Pokédex, this Pokémon is used by bakers to help them make sweet treats. It also has many different forms it can take depending on how it is evolved. The picture I used here is its basic form, but Ralsei very well could have any number of combinations, including its black shiny. Heck, he might have be friends with a whole bunch of them! Maybe he makes them in his cauldron...who knows! It's cute to think about, though. Just...keep them away from Susie, Ralsei! She might try to eat them...

Now, our assigned Legendary and Mythical may surprise you, but hear me out...

Rayquaza: Rayquaza is obviously a match to Ralsei's green colouration, but it is also here for a deeper reason. It is one of three ancient nature Pokémon, Pokémon so ancient they have primal forms. They're probably as old as Ralsei's prophecy. Since Kris gets Kyogre and Susie gets Groudon, this is the perfect trio to represent our Deltarune heroes. While Kyogre and Groudon fight, much like how Susie and Kris didn't get along in Chapter 1, Rayquaza keeps the peace between them like Ralsei did. Rayquaza and Ralsei bring Kris and Susie together. Rayquaza is also associates with the skies and stars, like Asriel is in the Light World.

Darkrai: Darkrai is a Pokémon misunderstood to be evil, kind of like how some people are suspicious of Ralsei. However, Darkrai only puts people to sleep and gives them nightmares to protect itself. In reality, it is just lonely. It is known as the pitch black Pokémon. It can create areas of total darkness, like a Dark World's dark fountain. I like to think Ralsei met this Pokémon and befriended it after showing it mercy and kindness instead of immediately attacking it or running away. While Darkrai isn't on Ralsei's team, I imagine it protects its friend Ralsei from the shadows.

Sylveon - Sylveon wraps its ribbonlike feelers around its Trainer's arm because this touch enables it to read its Trainer's feelings. Once a fight breaks out, it will unflinchingly charge at dragon Pokémon that are many times larger than itself.

Togetic - They say that it will appear before kindhearted, caring people and shower them with happiness.

Alcremie - When it trusts a Trainer, it will treat them to berries it's decorated with cream.

Delcatty - Delcatty prefers to live an unfettered existence in which it can do as it pleases at its own pace. Because this Pokémon eats and sleeps whenever it decides, its daily routines are completely random. The favorite of trend-conscious female Trainers, they are used in competition for their style and fur.

Primarina - To Primarina, every battle is a stage. It takes down its prey with beautiful singing and dancing.

Clefable - They appear to be very protective of their own world. It is a kind of fairy, rarely seen by people. According to tradition, people who see a pair of Clefable skipping by can look forward to a happy marriage.

Details:

I had a lot of fun with this! It leans more towards the anime iteration, but I’m not a huge Sailor Moon person, so I’m not sure if there’s a huge difference between this character in the anime and manga, haha.

Superficially, I wanted a focus on cute Pokemon. Some of these also have the Cute Charm ability, evolve with friendship or affection, or evolve with a Moon Stone!

Sylveon felt like a good starter, and a basis for measuring character development. Its Pokedex entries emphasis that it has a loving personality, but is also unflinchingly courageous. Togetic evolves with friendship, and was retconned in later games to be a Fairy-Type.

Alcremie is a reference to the character’s sweet tooth, and another cute Fairy-Type.

Delcatty is stated many times to be popular with women due to its appearance, and its pre-evolution Skitty is emphasized to be very cute and silly. It felt like a Pokemon Usagi would love, and also somewhat references Luna.

Primarino is beautiful, another Fairy-Type, and a starter Pokemon, and its slightly more serious personality felt like a fun contrast. Naturally, I chose Clefable for its association with the moon, happy couples, and rarity.

Very small extremely minor headcanons. I promise.

Steven is mix-handed. He's left-handed but has learned to use his right almost as well as his left.

Raju will drape himself over his partner to rest if they're not tired when he is.

Chain likes to sleep facing out into the room.

99% of the time Zapp sleeps nude.

Steven wants three (3) kids. He would be okay with more but he thinks three is a good number of baby.

Steven's sisters look more like their father. Steven looks more like their mother.

[Pokemon Exist] His Abuela has an Arboliva. She was the one that found Cerezita.

Zapp has a very young half-sibling... He's actually never met them in person. He's nervous about going home and meeting his mother's new fiance, but he sends a few toys home for the holidays.

Zed's antennae are ultra-sensitive feelers. If he were not a civilized fishman, they would be used for hunting prey.

Chain can't pinpoint when exactly she started having feelings for Steven. She really does want to confess to him though.

Leo used to be able to balance on the back of Michella's wheelchair to go zooming with her. He is out of practice but could probably still pull it off.

[Pokemon Exist] Zapp's Delcatty is a spoiled baby because she's pretty much his only connection to his mother. She has an old and faded bandana around her neck, along with her collar since he rarely puts her in the pokeball.

[Pokemon Exist] Raju may not pay attention to the pokemon that follow him around, but he takes care of them when they're injured. And he helped Delcatty get around when Zapp couldn't.

Zapp knows when his mother's wedding is going to be. He's gotten an invitation. He just... doesn't know if he wants to go. He's already been cleared time off if he chooses to, he just has to decide.

[Pokemon Exist] Leo is trying to balance his team by typing, though he's also struggling since his Natu won't evolve and won't leave his side.

[Monster AU] Daniel and Marcus haven't figured out how they're twins and half-siblings. There are possibilities but given that they're a nephil and a cambion, it's uh... a little harder to figure out.

Daniel enjoys watching speedpaints, both digital and traditional mediums.

All of Klaus' siblings speak at least three languages. German and English are the common, the third is up to them.

[Monster AU] Zapp's blood fully awakening would be cripplingly painful. It comes shortly after the events of Calamity Auction. (note that I don't have full details on the arc but know the gist of it)

[Pokemon Exist] K.K.'s husband has both a Drowzee and a Munna to help their sons sleep. He also has an Alcremie that helps him at work. (She loves playing with the boys)

[Pokemon Exist] Cerezita has stolen one of Steven's ties, so he got her a matching bowtie. It makes her very happy.
