If you do the thing for "valid" reasons, then you can't pick it. (e.g. if you don't swear because your religion forbids it, or don't drink because of a family history of addiction, then you can't vote for that option, because you don't have the Childish reasoning that the poll is about)
Basically "is this something that someone would feel comfortable making fun of you for, without an 'excuse' on hand that would be socially unacceptable to continue mocking?"
If you can snap at them about being on meds that interact poorly, or having asthma, or not being able to afford real jewelry, it's a "valid" reason and you can't vote for that option. Also it's pretty cultural; I get a lot more shit for the cigarette avoidance in Serbia than in the US, and someone in Germany is less likely to be mocked for the spice thing than someone in Texas.
If it's more than one (very likely), then just pick the one that people feel the most entitled to be dramatic about to your face.
(I was gonna say 'over 25' but half the site is under that age. Then I was gonna say 'over 20' but then I'd have to deal with people talking about underage drinking because America. So instead here.)

One thing that gets me about Yoojin is that it would have been so easy to just give up and die before the regression. The last repayment skill can help him survive in dire situations but it's also deeply traumatising to use and he still definitely had to struggle to make it out alive a lot of the time. And we hear about some of the effects of this sometimes, this all fucked him up so bad he self-medicated with alcohol to the point that he didn't even think to question people coming in his home to drag him to rehab, without which he almost definitely would have died. But he kept desperately going on and surviving. For Yoohyun.

Fic Rec of the Day:
Holy shit I finally read it. God damn. This is a MASTERPIECE. Tread carefully and take care of yourselves if you read it - this is a very real story surrounding Crowley's trauma, therapy, and the deep social bond between him and a truly caring therapist.

Dio Brando x Reader
Tumblr media
Dio Brando
You forgive the most evil characters no matter how bad their deeds are and think you can fix them. You have a vampire kink and you prefer cats instead of dogs. There's also a 10% chance that you were that kid who would unironically yell "KONO DIO DA!" and think it was funny.
First Date
If he's human than you meet during school and bond over you're hatred of alcoholic father's whilst getting drunk on cronenburg Irish whiskey. You have a secret relationship because Dio is now fancy and can't be associated with a "loose" woman. His pullout game is strong (it has to be so he doesn't have an army of miniature Dario's running around) and you leave him once you find out that he's been sleeping with all the local prostitutes (men included).
If he's a vampire then he's kidnapped you for food. Don't expect to live as this isn't part 3 Dio. He got a mother to eat her baby and plays with mancats. At best he'll leave you to starve after asking you how many breads you've eaten in your entire life.

Arissoholic
[PT: Arissoholic]
Arissoholic, an arissodiction(link) subterm connected to thinking one has alcoholism and makes the person, whether it be because of delusional or IRL attachments, being an alter that has alcoholism but the body doesn't, psychosis, etc., feel disconnected from their external addictions. This is not for "fun" or voluntary "I wanna be this ✨️", this also doesn't override the external addictions the person has. This term is not for "transitioning" of any kind either and is not radqueer or transid friendly and not comparable to transgender.
As well they don't support the fetishization, romanticization, misinformation, etc. of alcoholism. (Because these terms also understand you can't change these things or changing these things would be harmful to the user)

What do you miss most about outside?
I do still go outside sometimes, just under constant supervision. So, I guess it would be more interesting to say what I miss about going outside on my own.
It's hard to say, really. I mean, I guess the obvious answer is "going wherever I want without a leash."
I miss going to the library. I'm the kind of geek who likes to sit there for hours reading books I don't have to check out, or just leafing through things I find interesting. It became my go-to place after Dad hit the bottle. I knew he couldn't follow me there, all drunk and belligerent, but after a while I just came to like it on its own merits.
Andrew and I would spend time there together. Studying, talking (quietly), drinking crappy library coffee. Sometimes we'd share a pair of earbuds and watch something together on our phones.
I miss that a lot.

People are thinking/worried about Figgy and Tuca’s relationship going bad ‘cause of him mentioning that he drinks a lot. Yes, there’s some very obvious concerns (like him mistreating her while drunk or causing problems with her sobriety) but I have a different thing in mind with what could happen, but keep in mind if most likely reading too much into things:
Figgy said he likes taking care of people…well what if that’s to the point he kind of neglects to take care of himself or address his own issues ‘cause he’s always putting others first (and yeah, “deals” with that through drinking) So after a while, Tuca starts noticing this pattern of his and it ends with her being there for him…helping him get sober. Showing him that it’s ok to ask for help instead of always being that help

So some thoughts hit me about Chick Hicks that I didn't elaborate on too much before so I figured I'd give the Chick fans something. Heads up we're gonna be talking about alcoholism a bit.
So I mentioned that his father Chaz Hicks was a racer, though Chick doesn't even remember when he raced legitimately. This is because Chaz's career was brief and ended when Chick was very young. But Chaz couldn't stand not racing, so he moved to illegal racing. He also got the idea in his head that Chick had to be a racer and wouldn't accept any failure. Chick really had no objections, so he went along with his father's wishes.
Chaz had some skills but honestly, he caused his own career to suffer. When he was a legitimate racer, he was so aggressive and cruel that sponsors didn't want him and other racers despised him, which contributed to the end of his career. He was too much of a risk. In his anger (and the subsequent anger/grief of his wife leaving him), he turned to heavy drinking. When he raced illegitimately, his aggression wasn't the problem (it was quite the crowd pleaser, actually), but his drinking habit started to hinder him.
Chick had been dragged around to his father's races frequently. He spent more time down at the race track than at school. Regulars at this track knew him as 'Chaz's boy'. Chaz told him to 'watch and learn' from his races and also told Chick to place bets on him. Unfortunately, Chaz didn't win often enough and they lost a good amount of money on those bets. (And Chaz blamed Chick for this of course). Chick started to realize that he could indeed learn from his father's races, but not learning from his father's tactics that got sloppier and more desperate with each race. Chick started observing the winners more. And he was a quick learner when it came to races.
And it's worth saying, Chick was a good driver by the time he was 14. I don't mean that he started learning at 14, I mean that he was a skilled driver. He joined the piston cup circuit at 16. He was pretty skilled from the start. I think it's not pointed out enough that he'd still have to be pretty skilled to consistently be the 'runner up' to Strip for so many years. He figured out how to play off his aggression and awful attitude in a way the crowd likes, something his father never figured out. Believe it or not, at first he didn't bump other racers much. But one year went by without him winning a piston cup, then two, then three, then four. Desperation combined with increased pressure from Chaz pushed him to start his habits. He got meaner, and more blatantly so. Strangely enough his more invested fans loved it. Sure, he was seen as an asshole by most, but he couldn't deny that the victories and the adoration felt amazing.
Though ever since the tiebreaker race, things feel...different. But not in a good way. He can't explain it but this doesn't feel like the glorious 'Chick Era' like he had been hoping for since his rookie year. And it's not like he's suddenly losing, he's still doing great, but things feel...incomplete. But it's probably nothing, right? It's probably fine, he'll shake off those doubts any day now, right? He assures himself that it's fine, nothing's wrong.

this iron man storyline is something that really, really harkens back to the original purpose of tony stark (and identifies something a lot of modern comic writers could stand to remember). and that’s that tony was never meant to be an accurate representation of a rich person. he’s an entirely fictional dream of what a rich person could be. and that was always supposed to be part of what drew people in; that he’s loaded and he’s brilliant, but his life is still a goddamn mess. the fact that they managed to make a multi-millionaire relatable; simply because his life is so goddamn weird; is what makes him compelling.
and that’s something that’s so apparent in this storyline because in real life, this does not happen to rich white men! in real life, men like that have access to luxury treatment options others could only dream of. they don’t get in trouble with the cops; often they don’t even have to pay anyone off and can get by on clout alone. their reputation doesn’t have to get completely trashed; they have pr people to handle that.
men like that don’t end up homeless for months on the streets of new york. that’s not a thing that happens! men like that don’t experience harassment from cops and doctors just for a. existing and b. being an addict. men like that don’t have to suffer from the fact that any social programs that could possibly help them are nonexistent or severely underfunded. that is not the reality of rich white men.
but it is tony’s reality, because he’s fictional. because he’s this weird little “what if” dream of what an ethical rich person could be. because iron man writers up to that point had all simultaneously understood that a hero isn’t interesting if you can’t relate to them; and that means tony has to get dragged down with the rest of us.

Legit just saw an anti bitching about how “The personification of the Seven Deadly Sins are always the same. Why must Lust in particular always be hot? Why can’t Lust be a 47 year old fat gross man with a drinking problem”. Like, ignoring the casual fat phobia issues… The point of the personification of List being hot is that they’re supposed to…. Invoke lust. I knew critical thinking and media consumption wasn’t exactly their strong point, but this is a new one
