What is Juno in Astrology?

Juno is the roman equivalent of the greek goddess Hera. Juno rules marriage, family life, fertility and commitment. This is a very feminine and nurturing energy that blesses an individual with their equal partner with whom the individual will create a stable home. As much as Juno rules over home and commitment, people see Juno as the marriage asteroid. The asteroid that shows you how you fill the gap of 'a domestic life with a partner'. Juno is basically the pattern in our long term committed relationships. Traditionally, people end up marrying and creating a domestic environment aka, a 'home' with their long term partners.

Therefore, Juno, rules over the partner that is most likely going to play this major role in your life, and your dynamic with them. Many people call this as, 'soulmate'. It also talks about your viewpoint on marriage and commitment as a secondary thing.

Note: Juno is about that one (or sometimes 2) long term lover of yours. It doesn't work on situationships or temporary relationships! So be careful.

Sun in Juno Persona Chart:

The Sun illuminates wherever it sits (the house or sign). The Sun will show you the identity of the marriage, and the foundation it is built upon. This relates to the values, beliefs, common goals and the trajectory of the relationship. This is the vibe/the essence of the relationship itself, "Explain this dynamic in one simple word?" What is the major theme between you and your partner. Suppose a person with their Juno Sun in Libra will be focused on creating harmony and balance within their relationship, while a person with their Sun in Aries will be focused on establishing an identity of their own within that relationship.

Moon in Juno Persona Chart:

The Moon shows the area of life where we feel at home and naturally comfortable. In a Juno Persona Chart the Moon shows the emotional bond you will have with your soulmate. It is the halfway meeting place where two people connect over on a deeper emotional level. Moon will show the bonding of two individuals and how they come together to relate with each other.

North Node and South Node in Juno Persona Chart:

The North Node shows the direction the relationship is supposed to go. It's like the north star of the relationship, guiding you towards your destiny. These are new things you will be learning about relationships and marriages. Whereas the South Node rules over your past, and also your past lives. These are the things you have mastered already. There is a hint of karma attached to your South Node if it makes a conjunction to any planets in your Juno PC.

Mercury in Juno Persona Chart:

Mercury shows the communication style you have with your soulmate, and how you both collaborate on solving problems/brainstorming plans/generating ideas, etc. A person with Mercury in Gemini in their Juno Persona Chart will be very talkative around their partner. They will be constantly bouncing ideas to each other, constantly focused on learning new things, etc. Whereas a person with their Mercury in Capricorn in their Juno PC will solve problems practically in the relationship and will focus on doing rather than talking.

Venus in Juno Persona Chart:

Venus shows what we are attracted to. It rules all things luxury, finances, romance, etc. In a Juno PC, Venus signifies the love language you have with your soulmate. It shows the aesthetics of your shared resources/materials, like a house. Venus is the softer and more pleasurable side of things, so it will show how you and your partner experience the joy of being together.

Mars in Juno Persona Chart:

If Venus is luxury and pleasure, Mars is how we pursue it. It's more than just sex. Mars rules over our passion and agression, our drive to achieve what we want, and how we generally react to challenging situations. Therefore in a Juno PC, it shows how you both deal with challenges/arguments/problems in the relationship, how you both work as a team to achieve/go after something, and your sex drive in the relationship.

Jupiter in Juno Persona Chart:

Jupiter rules over luck, expansion and growth. Wherever Jupiter is placed will show how you grow with your partner in the relationship. This growth refers to mental, emotional, and spiritual. Jupiter will show you the areas that hold the most abundance for your growth in the marriage/relationship. It shows how you and your partner grow together over the course of time.

Saturn in Juno Persona Chart:

If Jupiter expands, Saturn limits. Wherever Saturn is placed in your Juno PC will show the area of life that is restricted/limited in some or the other way in your relationship. It also shows how you and your soulmate deals with imposing limitations over certain things in your relationship, and what types of challenges you both will naturally encounter during the course of this relationship.

*NOTE - Neptune, Uranus and Pluto are very slow moving generational planets, therefore they are not necessary to look at separately in their zodiac signs. But you should check the house they fall in. Here's a quick overview of what each planet represents:

Neptune - Shows the spiritual/unconscious side of the relationship.

Uranus - Shows the erratic sudden changes you both bring into each other's lives.

In your Juno Persona Chart, the 12 houses show those areas in correlation to your relationship with your soulmate.

1st House:

This house is how you perceive the relationship you have with your soulmate, what is the image this has in your mind. It's is more than just your perception or idea about the relationship, because it also focuses on your beliefs, and what you desire as a outcome of this connection. This is the established identity of the relationship and also how you direct the "I" in your relationship.

2nd House:

This is a more materialistic house because it focuses on the "what" the relationship has. Your resources, finances, assests, these fall under this house and it shows your idea of creating a stable foundation physically in the relationship. This shows how you deal with the things you own together, like a house or, a child, quite literally. This house is the indicator of wealth and resource management in the relationship.

3rd House:

This house focuses on the sharing of thoughts, ideas and analysis of in depth topics. This shows the communication in the relationship. It's the communication style you have with your soulmate, how you both choose to express your needs and want. The planets in this house will tell if communication is healthy or not, it expression of thoughts come easily to both people or not.

4th House:

This house's primary focus is on the private life of the individuals within the relationship. It shows how both of your open up with each other and relate on a super vulnerable manner. This creates the energy of "us time" where you and your soulmate is away from the eyes of the world, in your own little bubble. Who you both are when nobody is looking, the in depths of the relationship. And it also relates to the family life and your home environment.

5th House:

This house is the house of joy, pleasure, fun, creativity, children, and the things we do for it's pure enjoyment and the pure experience. In a Juno PC, this house shows how you spend fun time with your soulmate, whether it's going on dates, having sex or spending quality time together. Pets are also a part of this house.

This is the house where you both come together as a team rather than two individuals. Through this house you learn the meaning of commitment. This house is the house where you act as a couple, a duo, a team. It also shows other people that a play a role in your marriage/relationship and how you both deal with those people altogether. This house is the house of partnerships and relationships, whether its your relationship with each other or with others as a couple.

8th House:

This house is all about what you share with someone, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. This is the house we learn the hardest and the most life altering lessons in the relationship. A stellium (3+ planets) in this house indicates that this relationship will teach you a lot of lessons and most likely you will unpack a lot of karma and transform because of this.

9th House:

This is a pretty lighthearted house, but you will experience your perspective on life broadening. This house will show travel, higher education, a blending of two minds, spirituality and it also hold the energy of luck and expansion.

10th House:

This house is about career and public reputation. This is the energy of how the world see you and your soulmate as a couple, the reputation that you have at large. Astro Observations [pt.1]

This post is just for fun and these are some of my personal observations that I’ve made about certain astrological placements. Enjoy! :)

- libra moons are all about keeping the peace and are known for being non-confrontational, but if they need to protect themselves or someone they love, they will bring out fighting words like no other

- even though the rising sign is generally the first impression we give to others, aries risings don't really give off aries vibes. they have more of the leadership qualities and are very ambitious and proud like an aries, but not as combative, blunt, and impulsive as other aries placements

- having a pisces mercury means you constantly forget the word you’re about to say, always have to make everyone feel included and heard in every conversation you’re having, and word vomiting to random people

- 10th house moons find emotional security through notoriety in society, either just in their personal community or nationwide on the grand scale and the element of the sign the moon is in tells how they tend to acquire notoriety

- fire moons acquire notoriety through their overall charisma and energy when dealing with others

- earth moons acquire notoriety through physical and financial means

- air moons acquire notoriety through the way they communicate and connect with others

- water moons acquire notoriety through their compassion and empathy for others; they also tend to acquire it through their families

- virgos love small things and tight spaces. a lot of them want tiny cars and small animals

- people that have an 8th house mercury tend to be secretive about things they’re doing in their personal lives like people with mercury in scorpio, but they tend to do it on a smaller scale

- ie. someone with an 8th house mercury won’t tell others about something they’re practicing until they feel they’re good enough to show them, but someone with a scorpio mercury wouldn’t tell others about something until they needed to put it to practical use

- people with libra mars always have receipts to pull up in arguments because they hate raising their voice and find no point in arguing just for the sake of arguing

- if your midheaven is at a leo degree (5º, 17º, 29º) then you might become famous at some point in time, or you might just work with or around famous people

- 9th house suns truly do have intense god complexes, but they are usually right about whatever they are claiming to know

- pets that have virgo placements are constantly cleaning themselves and have a tendency to clean wherever you touched them as soon as you lift your hands off them

- people with prominent libra placements tend to be picky eaters because if the food doesn’t please them or their tastes, then they have a hard time trying it again later due to the past experience

- your chart ruler (aka the planet that rules over your rising sign) is one of the most important placements in the birth chart because your perspective is filtered through that planet and the sign and house it’s in 

- having the north node in aquarius means that you need to incorporate technology more into your life in order to find success, whereas having the north node in leo means that you need to learn to be more comfortable without the need of technology in order to find success

- we all know that cancer placements (especially cancer moons) are all about family, but they really do expect you to drop everything for family if they are in need

- men with aquarius moons like to think that they’re super progressive, but they’re actually the most traditional people around

so why did you give the iterators hair? im so curious! also for suns, why was he created to be rude if they didnt want him to be rude?? it seems like a terrible set up lmao

I just felt like it when doing their first designs. I like "bold" iterators, but for me adding them hair makes them feel more human-like, in a way. And it just looks nice to me, so, why not?

About Suns... Ight hear me out--

In this AU creating an iterator is almost like creating a living baby - you can give it certain genetics to have a certain character, but you can't predict what exactly would come out of it in the end.

The Ancients were experimenting with the amount of empathy they could give to an Iterator to make it not only function as planned, but also care about its citizens. They added close to NO empathy to Sliver Of Straw as at first they were trying to get a perfect working machine, but a drawback was that nobody would be able to live on it.

They added a lot of empathy to Moon so she could take care of a big city that accepted refugees from another group where an accident happened.

And they were trying to creat Suns as a middle ground between those two. But sometimes things just don't go as planned. And humans (aka Ancients) can make mistakes.

They gave each iterator one semi-private channel for conversation with each other, and what happened was Suns getting into conversations with SoS and her changing his worldview rapidly. Manipulating him, in a way, so she could use him as a waste material for her own goals, as well as a distraction from her personal experiments with void fluid. At that, Suns empathy significantly lowered, especially toward his creators, and he started to take on unwanted characteristics, considering that he was, in fact, pretty emotional. However, he couldn't exactly show it, as he understood the consequences, so he took out his frustration and anger on Moon, and then on NSH when they were created.

Of course, it took time, but when it became too apparent that things needed to be changed - the Ancients decided to meddle with his personality. And he was not happy about it. His past self remembered it well. But could do nothing, as another brand new character replaced it to suit whatever was needed of him.

With that, SoS also started refusing conversation with him, as her another attempt would attract unwanted attention. Suns also was no longer that gullible and now had some distinct morals to him. Even tho he couldn't remember what he did in the past (at first), he now had no desire to oppose his creators.

Nothing Satisfies Me But Your Soul

Her heels echoed throughout the halls, the only sound in the entire building that was too silent for way too long. She didn't hurry down the halls, no, she took her time as she approached her destination.

Where her visitor was waiting for her.

She crouched down to their level and smiled through the veil of her hat. "It seems like you took my words for granted. Look at what happened to you, if only you had seen past your hubris things would be different."

With a flick of her fingers, an object appeared from thin air in her hands. "You notice this? This will be the deciding factor for the trajectory of your life. Now all I need is...." She grabbed the crown from their head and slowly took it off, putting it on the scale and began to speak:

"Scales decide based on their life, if they were a person who did wrong or did right. The blood on their hands the good things they have done, show me what they did under the moon and sun. Depending on what they've done or seen; heaven or hell is where they will be,"

The woman watched the scales as the instrument seemed to hover in the middle for a few seconds before tipping to one side; the woman listened as the sound of a bell echoed through the cell and a red light glowed from the scale.

The woman smiled sinisterly before turning back to look at her guest, who was pale, quiet, and immobile. "The scales have shown that you committed bad things, and it's been decided that I should take you to hell to live out the punishment decided for you."

"Doesn't that sound wonderful, Mister Sam?" ***

I was inspired after watching an explanation video of the miniseries of The Fall of the House of Usher and Verna is a character that immediately intrigued me. I love stories where they take the concept of death and create a character that interprets death to a certain degree. So I decided to write about Lady Death aka Kristen.

Why is Sam dead? In this story Dream never shows up to Pandora's Vault and Sam and loses all three of his canon lives to suicide attempts and starvation.

FNaF Security Breach: The Daycare Attendant Mistreatment Theory

it's clear from various in-game details and hints that the Daycare Attendant doesn't receive the same treatment as the other characters at the Pizzaplex.

the first thing i noticed is when you're about to switch off the lights in the playground, Sun says this:

"New friend, this- this area is area is off-limits! You’re gonna get us in trouble..." 

notice the "us" here. Sun mentions getting “in trouble” with a tone of dread - as if it’s something that’s happened to him before, and he’s really not looking forward to it again.

“us” might not even mean Sun and Gregory. it might mean Sun and Moon.

this whole exchange implies that Sun (and most likely Moon too) get reprimanded and punished often, even for something as simple as entering an area they're not supposed to. overall, Sun seems extremely anxious and high-strung - which, at the time, is partially because he knows there's something wrong with Moon - but other than that, it seems ingrained into his personality. both Sun and Moon panic when you make a mess, and immediately drop whatever they're doing to frantically clean it up - which could mean they get punished for allowing the Daycare to be messy (or even just not pristine). you could even say that Moon's constant repetition of stuff about punishment (”Bad children must be punished,” “Bad children must be found,” “It’s past your bedtime, you must be punished!”) is some kind of projection, reflecting the punishment and treatment that he and Sun receive. in a similar vein, Sun seems to be obsessed with rules and reprimands you for being a “rule breaker”.

Moon also rarely says “Hidey hide, hide away,” which obviously is meant to make it feel like the dark and scary version of hide-and-seek - but could also imply, if the projection idea is true, that Moon (and maybe Sun too) have tried hiding in fear when they were going to be “punished”. the Daycare Attendant's room is absolute garbage - littered with trash, cobwebs everywhere, and clutter taking up most of the room. both Sun and Moon are impulsive cleaners, so it's highly unlikely that they WANT it to be that way. 

based on the fact that there are S.T.A.F.F. Bot parts, various toys, and a whole arcade machine in their room, it seems like their room is also being used as a storage room - or, more likely, it originally WAS a storage room, and only now doubles as the Daycare Attendant’s room.

this especially makes sense considering how the room is also connected to the theater, it’s small with an odd layout, it’s about as plain and dull as it gets, and it isn’t themed around the characters at all.

now compare that to the vibrantly colorful, character-themed, cushy and comfy rooms the Glamrock characters live in. considering how absolutely fantastic everything in the Pizzaplex is, the Daycare Attendant’s lack of a proper room can only be out of pure neglect.

despite considering every other animatronic character a friend, Freddy refers to the Daycare Attendant as an “it”:

“We are almost out of time. We need to get to a recharge station immediately. Every hour, the power is diverted to the recharge stations. When that happens the lights go out, and when that happens the Daycare Attendant is free to roam the building. It will find you.”

“Gregory, good news! It is almost 6 o’clock. You will be safe now if you find an exit. But hurry! The Daycare Attendant is loose one last time.”

as if calling the Daycare Attendant an “it” wasn’t enough to show his disdain, Freddy also says “loose” as if he’s talking about a wild animal.

also note that Freddy makes it clear that when the lights go out during the power diversion, aka the last 10 minutes of each hour between 12 AM and 6 AM, is the only time the Daycare Attendant is free to roam the building - meaning that at all other times, they are bound to the Daycare and not allowed to leave, unlike all the other characters who have free roam of the building (well, except maybe DJ Music Man cause... yeah). both Sun and Moon are noticeably very creaky when they move, implying lack of proper maintenance. look at the exposed mechanical parts on their joints and the back(s) of their head(s).

notice how their faces clearly don’t match the much cuter, less uncanny designs shown on their posters and merchandise - for example, in all his merchandise, Sun has pupils instead of pure-white eyes (however, the color of his eyes varies across different representations of him - maybe they were just too lazy to decide on a final design?)

Sun and Moon may have just not been finished, and nothing in the game implies they’re still being worked on. either that, or they deteriorated over time and never received proper repairs - or maybe both.

and on top of all this? i can’t find or think of a single reason that the Daycare Attendant would receive such poor treatment.

i guess it’s just Fazbear Entertainment being Fazbear Entertainment.

...and then, on the other hand, we have DJ Music Man - who, despite Freddy seemingly being good buddies with and calling him "such a nice fellow", has zero merchandise, posters, or promotion to be found anywhere in the Pizzaplex... though i guess that’s probably cause they didn’t wanna spoil his reveal in-game.

×Little Explanation×

Dream, Reader, Drista, and Tommy belong to a rare hybrid mutation species called "Celestials", which are similar to The Starborne Origins except for a few details that differentiate them from the rest and why they are called mutated. Celestials are also known as "Children of Chaos/Void" due to the mysterious and ethereal essence the Void offers, it's even said that Celestials came from the Primodial Mother Chaos [Yes Chaos is actually a Demigirl].

Dream is still an Owl Hybrid, however his Celestial mutation takes when it's night or in complete darkness. His wings turn black and is now littered with stars.

Reader is a Phantom Hybrid, but she don't take much damage from the sun like their Origins [Since the Sun is practically a star in science means]. She still retains her Hybrid Abilities albeit a bit more powerful at night.

Drista is a Void Shifter, basically a nocturnal version of a Shapeshifter. The power of her abilities depends on the moon cycle, she is at the strongest every New Moon and weakest at Full Moon, and how close the Void is, more closer determines the power she has.

Tommy is a Demon [I'm a big fan of Horned-Innit okay–] but his Horns are pitch black with small rings full of celestial debris and stuff surrounding it.

They can all appear and dissapear their hybrid features at will [Exception of Drista since she's she's a shapeshifter and it ain't entirely obvious] and stop aging at 25, living for centuries.

×Backstory and Plot×

Celestials are pretty rare and deal a lot of market value, so the four siblings travel a lot. However, a group of hunters found them and decided to capture/sell them to the Black Market.

Dream, being the eldest, decided to be a distraction, though that'll cost his wings getting ripped, while Reader, second eldest, hid Drista, third and was a child, and Tommy, youngest and was a baby at that time, in seperate locations to grow normally and out of danger.

Dream managed to escape with his wings still intact but now wears a mask to prevent recognition whilst Reader continues traveling and making sure she doesn't get in to trouble or contact [Obviously].

The four grow up away from each other due to the dangers of their mutations but Dream had enough and devised a plan to meet up with his siblings after for so long, aka the SMP. Tommy and Drista are well aware of their bloodline and know they have siblings, siblings who risked their lives to make sure theirs were stable. The lore goes on in canon, except Dream shows subtle favoritism on Tommy and Tommy seems alright with Dream's presence.

Until Jschlatt appeared. Dream knows him very well, as he was one of the hunters who tried to kill them.

Pogtopia time, Reader comes with Drista, both observing from the shadows. Reader approaches Dream with the information that almost everyone, save for Techno, Phil, Wilbur, Ranboo, Connor, and Niki, have direct connections from the hunters who tried to ruin them, that includes Tubbo. Reader and Dream make a plan to bring Tommy to their side and isolate themselves from to SMP to further avoid problems. Canon goes until Tommy Exile, then we go to divergence.

Dream still manipulates Tommy, albeit no abuse or torture, with the intention for Tommy to join him and their sisters to go wander together, away from the SMP's Problems. Then they have healthy Disc Duo bonding time until Reader and Drista comes along to join them, and to warn about the upcoming war. Since the past is revealed and Tommy no longer is associated with Tubbo, sadly, they are not joining Techno and set off to leave the SMP. The Celestials went off to live in peace for a while, they don't really bother themselves in war anymore since the family is now complete and that's all they can ask for.

I defiantly strayed from what the ask originally was but the core idea is still there. Enjoy!

Celestial Convergence

Summary: After being separated at a young age, Dream decides now was the time to get his family back together again…

“Are you insane!” You whisper-yell at your brother, the idea he proposed sounding outrageously risky.

“Maybe a little, but can you really blame me? This could be your only chance to escape.” He reasons.

“What about you though? I-I can’t just let you get yourself killed.”

“(Y/n), please. Don’t just throw away our only chance at freedom for me, we have to do this so they can grow up safely.” Dream urges, nodding towards a sleeping Tommy and half-asleep Drista. You stare at the two for a while before taking a shaky breath.

“Okay, let’s do this.” You give a look of determination. He beams at you and gives you a hug, you’re more then happy to return it. Dream steps away from you and stares down at the iron bars that kept you locked in this cage, he grips them tightly, his knuckles almost turning white at the force. It always amazes you whenever you get to watch his wings unfurl, the feathers shifting from their usual barred owl colours to a black canvas, mirroring the starry night sky itself. With a harsh tug he manages to bend the bars, now it was your turn to act quickly scooping Drista and Tommy up into your arms and cling to them while you focus on making not just yourself but the two of them disappear with you, another harsh tug and there’s just enough space to squeeze out of the cage.

“What was that?” “The celestials are escaping!” “Well don’t just stand there! Get them you idiots!” The voices of the hunters ring out around the area, you move as fast as your legs can carry you to the nearest grouping of trees for cover. “Oi! I found one!” You paused for a moment and dared yourself to look back, seeing the hunters give chase to Dream. You wanted to help him but the squirming toddler and stirring baby reminded you otherwise, you continue forward into the surrounding forest and keep running until the shouts and clashing of weapons fades from your ears…

How long have you been traveling? A while, that’s all you were able to decipher. After the first night of your escape you hadn’t really stopped moving, not like you were unused to that but the two little ones in your arms certainly needed somewhere much safer to stay, luckily you had finally made it to a town you were familiar with by night 3. You keep yourself invisible and have a look around, the night offered such calming ambiance but now was no time to rest. You walk up to one of the houses and have a peek inside, it was simple enough, but that wasn’t what you were looking for. Moving to the next house you have another peek, nothing there either. The third house was about the same as the previous two, it wasn’t until the eighth house that you found what you were looking for. It wasn’t a person in particular but a sigil, one that indicates protection and refuge, they’ve been used to help celestials like yourself many times in the past, a symbol of hope for you. Still though, with everything going on you couldn’t just let both your siblings stay here, it’d be too suspicious. You carefully place Drista down, she lets out a soft whine having gone from your comforting grip to the hard ground.

“Shhhh, I know it’s difficult but you’ll be much safer here on your own… just don’t try to shapeshift too much.” You say quietly. Making yourself visible for a moment you use your now free arm to give a few knocks to the door and take a step back, returning to the shadows. A sheep woman opens the door after a bit looking around until she sees Drista sitting there looking up at her innocently, the woman picks her up and carry’s her inside, taking one last look around before shutting the door.

“Looks like it’s just you and me until I find somewhere else for you to stay.” You sigh, looking down at Tommy who just yawns and cuddles into your grip…

Another few days had passed and the terrain was becoming much colder, you’d made the mistake of dropping your invisibility cover for a rest seeing as it drains your energy after a while. However the mistake was you did so in a semi-public area meaning people saw you, and while most went about doing nothing a few alerted some hunters in the area. You made a mad dash in the only direction they weren’t blocking, gripping tightly to the baby in your arms to not drop him.

You wrap your cloak around Tommy, doing what you could to keep him warm, you were part phantom so the cold didn’t bother you as much thankfully. You dash through a forest and the second you’re far enough away you focus and make the two of you invisible again, staying as still as possible while you hear the approach and retreat of the hunters footsteps. You let out a sigh once the coast is clear and continue trekking your way through the snowy tundra, it wasn’t until nightfall that you see a small light in the distance, a glimmer of hope sparking in you. Hurrying yourself forward you see a house take shape, then you pause… what if this was a trap, could you really trust this? Staring back down at the squirmy baby in your arms a soft smile dances across your lips and you knew you had to try, for him. Stealing yourself you continue forward, drawing closer to the building, once close enough you peek inside the window just catching two boys close to your age dash down a hallway. Your eyes scan the interior of the home, when they land on the sigil you prayed to see you physically in relief.

“Don’t you worry, you’re going to be taken real good care of here. You’ll even have older brothers to play with.” You reassure, though you’re not sure if it’s for Tommy or yourself. You go to place him down by the door when Tommy starts whining, managing to shuffle his arms free of the cloak around him and reach them towards you, he makes a grabbing motion with his hands as another whine leaves him. “Shhhh. Shhhh. It’s okay. I’ll be alright, but I can’t stay here, it’s too risky. I promise one day I’ll come back and we can be a family again. For now you be good to these people, okay?” Small sobs and more whines are your response, it broke your heart that you had to do this but there wasn’t any other option that would be safer. “I know what can help.” You mutter as you bundle him up again nice and cozy. You start singing a soft lullaby.

“It always seems more quiet, in the dark, it always feels so stark~ How silence grows under the moon, constellations gone so soon~ I used to think that I was bold, I used to think love would be fun~ Now all my stories have been told except for one…~” You pause a second to look down at the nodding off baby, a melancholic smile on your face as you continue. “As the stars start to align I hope you take it as a sign that you’ll be okay. Everything will be okay~ And if the seven rings collapse, although the day could be my last, you will be okay. When I’m gone you’ll be okay~ And when creation goes to die you can find me in the sky. Upon the last day, and you will be okay~” With that you gently set his sleeping figure down before making yourself visible enough to place three loud knocks on the door before disappearing from view once more.

“Hello?” A blonde haired man answers the door, this couldn’t be more perfect, he looked like he could genuinely be Tommy’s father, no one would know any better. When the man spots said sleeping child he carefully picks Tommy up and scans the area with a concerned look, completely unaware of your presents now a few feet away. With one more sweep across the area the man finally retreats into his home with a saddened sigh.

“Be good to him. Please.” You quietly plead, disappearing into the night…

It’s been… years since the last time you’d seen anyone from your family, you couldn’t say for how long. Time has always been something you didn’t bother yourself much with preferring to focus on the now, and right now you were following a lead you got from one of the villages you commonly did trades with. Someone had mentioned an SMP that had arose awhile ago and in the time it’s been around there’s already been a war and the potential for a second to arise, needless to say curiosity got the better of you. Still you didn’t wish to waltz right in, after all you were never safe from hunters and the odds of some residing in such a place was extremely likely, not to mention with the mild translucency to your skin it wasn’t hard to pick you out of a crowd. Having finally made it to the border of said SMP you take a second to evaluate your surroundings, readjusting the hood of your coat over your head you continue forward.

There wasn’t much going on, maybe a few common mobs, but to be fair you did wander into a more forested area. Soon enough faint voices can be heard in the distance, too far for you to make out what they were saying, but it was defiantly people. Invisibility has always been your best friend throughout the years, although it can be exhausting if used for too long on sunny days like today, still you needed to approach with caution and find out if whoever was talking would be friend or foe. You edge closer and closer until three people are visible, one wore an odd pair of glasses? Goggles? Hard to say for sure. Another wore a t-shirt with a flame logo on it, and a matching white bandana. The last of the three wore a smiling mask, making it impossible to see any facial features, and yet something felt oddly familiar about him. While examining the three you slip up and crack a branch under your feet, these three had fast reflexes, they all pull out bows and shoot in your general direction. One of the arrows manages to catch your arm making you lose focus and tumble into view, completely visible.

“And who are you supposed to be, a spy?” The bandana one questions, glaring daggers at you. You stare at the arrow in your arm, that sadly won’t be coming out anytime soon, then up at the three. “Well? You gonna say something?” More of a threat then a question seeing as he raises his weapon in your direction. Moving quickly you kick out the guys legs and make yourself invisible once more, fighting past the pain to push off the ground and make a dash back into the forest. Even with the arrow still visible you weren’t an easy target to see as you weave through the trees, listening for the trio chasing after you. Taking a moment to catch your breath you duck into some bushes, watching as two of the men run by while the one with the mask pauses and tilts his head in an odd way, as if listening for something. You take in a sharp, pained breath when you accidentally nudge the arrow against the foliage, immediately the masked man turns and stares in your direction, you cover your mouth to avoid making any more sudden breaths but as if still able to hear you he approaches your hiding spot. Hoping to make a quick getaway you use your more mobile hand to grab some loose dirt, throw it at the man to distract him and make a mad dash in the opposite direction.

“Wait, stop!” You hear him yell, as if you’d listen. You’ve come so far on your own and you were not about to give up and let yourself be captured now, although the blaring sunshine mixed with your exhaustion and injury certainly weren’t helping you any. As you push forward you can feel the pain in your arm getting worse, losing your focus and no longer able to keep yourself invisible any longer you stumble to the ground. You have to scream into your arm to muffle yourself as the impact with the ground causes the arrow to once again shift, you needed to remove this thing, now. However, as luck would like to have it the masked man appears again, you pull your crossbow out and take as best of aim as you can with one arm, if you were going down here you’d do so fighting.

“You’d best stay away if you know what’s good for you.” You threaten, trying desperately to hide the waver in your voice.

“Easy there (y/n), I’m going to hurt you, I promise.” You’re taken aback at this but don’t drop your guard.

“How-how do you know my name? Who even are you?” Honestly you felt more scared of what could happen if you were left alive, was he a hunter that you’ve encountered in the past? What did he want with you? Your thoughts felt so jumbled together but abruptly stop when you see two wings unfurl from his back as he takes off the mask. You’re speechless, tears welling in your eyes when you finally get to see who’s behind the mask.

“Hey sis.” You wanted to leap from the ground and hug him but the growing pain prevented you from doing so, noticing this Dream hurries to your side. “Here, let’s get you somewhere safer and take care of that wound.” He places your good arm over his shoulder and before you’re able to stand on your own feet he lifts you into his arms and takes flight.

“What are you doing!? You’re gonna get us noticed.” You say alarmed.

“Relax, I already sent the others away, and this is the fastest mode of travel I can give.” He says unbothered. You try to relax as much as possible, distracting your mind by watching the landscape pass by below…

You must’ve passed out, either from pain or blood loss because the next thing you know you’re waking up on a bed, your arm nicely patched up. You flex your arm around to make sure it still had mobility in it, it was a bit stiff but nowhere near as bad as earlier.

“Oh thank Prime you’re alright.” You look over and see Dream staring back relieved. “You passed out about halfway through our journey here, you looked pretty pale, I mean you always look pale, but you looked… paler then usual.”

“It’s good to see you too…” You huff out, more out of breath then you thought. You stabilize yourself to stand and walk over to him, seems the both of you had the same idea as once you’re close enough Dream pulls you into a very long awaited hug. The two of you take a minute to just relish in your reunion, once you feel satisfied you abruptly shove him.

“You shot at me!” You say, now realizing you were partially in this situation because of him.

“Okay, to be fair, in my defence I didn’t know it was you at first.” He quickly defends, holding his hands up in fake surrender.

“You don’t know who a person is so your first instinct is to shoot them? Real welcoming, truly.” You roll your eyes sarcastically.

“You’re the one who decided to make a break for it.”

“Well in my defence, I thought you were all hunters.” It’s silent between the two of you for a while.

“I sorry.” Dream breaks the silence again, taking in a long breath. “It’s been a lot over the years, I had to hide and change a lot of myself to keep people off my trail. I guess we both just acted out of instinct.”

“Hey, it’s alright. I’m still in one piece and we managed to find each other again after so long, so it’s not all bad.” You reassure, earning a soft chuckle from Dream.

“Yeah, suppose you’re right.”

“If only the others were here too, then everything would be perfect.” You hum, Dream brightens up at this.

“Well, actually…” He trails off. Dream then explains to you all that’s happened before your arrival, including how both Tommy and Drista had found their way to the SMP but since you had to part with them at such young ages they didn’t fully remember everything, just bits a pieces.

“Okay, and I guess with this new war on the horizon it hasn’t been easy for you.” You fill in the blanks, Dream nods. “Well then what are we waiting for?” You walk over and grab his mask, handing it to him with a determined look in your eyes. “Just tell me what I can do to help…”

I know, I’ve been gone for like a month, honestly thought I’d get this out sooner but life just has a way of not being in my favour as of recent. I’ll be fine, and thank you all for your patience ❤️❤️

If Garou joins the HA, Amai Mask would lose his mind, I am sure...

And a part of me would kill to see those 2 interact.

I am still kind of pissed than Amai Mask wanted to kill Garou that badly, like seriously, not even the others nobody heroes wanted that, they were just getting out their frustation and past humiliation in him, they never said anything about killing.

How do you imagine things going with the rest of the class S than Garou did not fight (in contrast of the webcomic)?

With Sweet Mask, his black & white no-tolerance policy is understandable knowing what he is, and the extreme edge he's been living on where he cannot afford any leeway, pardons, or lapses in control, because it's reflective of the mental battle he's having within himself, so I'm not angry with him (and knew he had his role to fulfill.) :'3 However, many other heroes in the wc were on board with Garou's execution, finding reasons to 'justify' enacting it and all, while the ones in the manga either stood by as bystanders, or gleefully joined in a petty/vindictive mob of payback that called their 'good' behavior as heroes into question - cause Tareo could not stand by and called them all out for their unheroic behavior (good for him~) with King on pacifist support to emphasize how shameful they were. Cause 'good' heroes need to be above indulging in this type of impulsive, 'feel good' backstabbing violence, or they're no better than petty thugs or at worst, the inhumane monsters (oho..SM) themselves.

So naturally, SM will likely resist and still be vehemently opposed to Garou joining (unless...SM's identity is exposed and thus removes him as the 'barrier' from entering S Class), but as for what the rest of S Class will think of Garou??

I'm actually going to laugh if the manga's 'Garou vs S Class' is going to be a post-arc held competition/tournament to determine his placement among them! x'D So let's go down the list.

Blast: future Garou fought him and learned his portal powers + gravity techniques, but for all current Garou knows, Blast is the one credited for defeating him with the 'Zero Punch' out of nowhere. As for Blast himself, unknown how he'll come into the picture again.

Tatsumaki: was knocked out and never interacted with Garou. In the wc she had reason to fight him thinking he'd hurt her sister, but not here. This time manga Tatsu probably won't care about Garou (esp if she’s focused on Psykos in the post-arc), plus she knows she's the boss anyway.

Bang: self-explanatory. He's already on board supporting him and setting things up to make Garou his replacement following his hero retirement.

Atomic Samurai: ooh this is interesting. Cause he and none of his disciples fought Garou to build a grudge against him. (Aww, missed opportunity for Garou to ‘catch’/parry the Sun Blade~) Plus he respects and trusts Bang. So he’ll either be in support of Bang’s judgement OR he’ll want to gauge Garou’s strength (aka his worthiness as Bang’s replacement) with the ‘apple test.’ If AS doesn’t leave on a post-arc journey in search of the Moon Blade, then either he or his disciples could show interest in fighting/training with Garou, with respect to Bang.  

Child Emperor: ohhh...unsure here. In the wc he was in support of Garou’s execution, but here he stayed out and (aside being knocked out by radiation in the future) never interacted with him. So unless CE still insists on putting up a fight (or if he still leaves for the Neo Heroes with his own reasons), Garou probably won’t be that thrilled to face a child either. 

Bofoi (Metal Knight): lul....he showed up at the VERY END on cleanup and healing duty to treat everyone’s radiation poisoning with magitech. Not bad! But he honestly still has other urgent targets on his paranoia radar to bother with Garou, so he’ll likely stay out to focus on his own, more pressing problems as usual.

King: what a nice guy! :’D He stepped up as a hero in support of Tareo to save Garou, while Garou had previously saved him vs the cadres (as King’s literal Ultimate Wave Motion Cannon.) So King has no reason to oppose Garou...but IF there’s a hero competition requiring some fighting, then King could react like ‘oshit’ as his new reason to want to train himself among dojos. 

Zombieman: hmmm...he’ll probably have more reason to want to investigate ‘god’ as a detective than do any fighting. Unless his ever-healing body is used as target-practice to hone techniques, there’s not much for Garou to gain by fighting him either.

Drive Knight: LMAO he peaced out early and has more dirt to uncover on Bofoi and Blast than to honestly give af about Garou.

Pig God: he’s a nice guy and dependable hero too. Unless Evil Natural Ocean is still out there for him to ‘eat,’ he probably won’t have much problem with Garou. 

Darkshine: ah. He DID directly fight Garou who broke his confidence + heroic spirit (along with all his other ptsd from suffering at the hands of the cadres.) Poor guy. He honestly won’t be in any shape to want to fight, and will probably (retire hero work) want to focus on training/body building instead. (In the wc, this is his reason for leaving for the Neo Heroes to help train others at their facilities.) He IS a nice guy at heart and even welcomed Garou to train at the HA’s facilities...but yeah. I don’t think Darkshine will be in the mood to oppose Garou again. 

Watchdog Man: so Garou did fight him way back, but unless the city he guards is in direct danger, he probably won’t have much reason to care (or remember) much about Garou either way.

Flash: aha! He already picked a fight with Garou vs Platinum. So naturally when it comes to Flash’s pride, he probably won’t give up the opportunity to challenge Garou again. The ironic thing however - that Flash might not even realize, is how he was defeated by Platinum, but Garou ‘avenged’ Flash by defeating Platinum in turn. x’D

Genos: ohhh...how unfortunate. Because Genos has future memories, he’ll have that much strong reason and ‘evidence’ to distrust and oppose Garou. (At the cost of everyone else thinking he’s fanatical to downright ‘mad’/insane for having such wild claims.) So depending on how it’s presented to the audience, Genos could appear like he’s in support of Sweet Mask. D: BUT if Saitama calms & convinces Genos otherwise, Genos will support him, so that’s another story.

Metal Bat: ah good, no problem. Cause while he’s fought and interacted with Garou, he’s also seen some of his better sides + heroic potential to be ok with Garou, and pointedly did not agree with Sweet Mask (ayy). So Garou won’t be Mb’s reason to join the Neos (if he still does, cause he might not this time.) But aside consoling Zenko Mb’s still a friendly meathead bro enough to want a competitive rematch with him, anytime.

Tank Top Master: while the Master himself is a reasonable man, it’s his...tank top army that’s another story. Him saving face and managing their grudge/dissent with Garou will be one of his most pressing problems.

PPP: hmmm...cause Garou already effortlessly defeated him while unconscious, he could still believe Garou’s dangerous. Unknown if he’ll want to fight Garou again, but if he does, he won’t be that much of a challenge to Garou either way.

The day is finally here -- my cast has come off and my broken leg has healed quite well! And with that unexpected phase of my life moving on and moving out, I think I'm ready to tell you all about my next great adventure.

I am so over-the-moon excited to be joining EA Maxis working on The Sims 4, working remotely here in Europe! So excited I couldn't help but spend all day yesterday shooting, filming, and putting together this little video announcement. I even broke out Clip Studio Paint to doctor my own Career Page in game.

The Sims franchise has meant so much to me over the past 22 years since it's release -- I wrote about it in my essay in Tales from The Margins, I've spoken about it on videos and at panels, and I've played just about every installment in the series to date and loved them all in one way or another. Which is why this dream opportunity is something I still can't believe is real. On Monday, I start with the team. I can't wait!

So here's to my next adventure, getting to be apart of the team making the most important franchise to my heart.

so he's resolved to making a change!! promises himself that he’s gonna get both him n his grandma outta this poverty!! n yes he sucks w education but jaehyun’s strongest talent is that he’s hella good at soccer!! he alw played w the neighbourhood kids at some paddy field, but he got on the team when he was in middle n high school and he’s alw been the Star Student

gets scouted for fc seoul outta high school!! he goes off quickly to do his military service then comes back n has been playing for the national team ever since!!

anw the downfall starts when he gets a,, rlly bad injury in one of the games, n jaehyun being the man he is refuses to rest and keeps pushing n he Really damages it for good,, has to get knee surgery and he’s out of the game for 6 months yikes ( recovers from surgery ~beginning of 2021 )

when he gets back he never quite gets back to his former glory 😩✋ he starts playing again but he gets injured So Easily and there’s talk of fc seoul wanting to sell / drop him bc even tho he has gr8 skills, he gets injured too often rip

starts panicking n Dreading that him and his grandma are gna go back to his life of poverty if he loses soccer, bc he literally has No Other Talent

around the same time he catches wind of some of the soccer players contemplating match fixing,, basically what it means is people usually bet on the outcome of the game, and the players anonymously bet against their own team and sabotage the game so they get a huge payout

knowing that his career in soccer is prob coming to an end, out of his desperation he starts doin the same thing oop ,, this goes on for a year until him and the other soccer players get found out mid 2022 ( so like last month teehee ) and a Huge Scandal breaks out

all of them get dropped from the team obv and banned from playing soccer, jaehyun included 😩✋ n there’s people in seoul literally spitting on him when he’s walking past the street like tf

anw the leo rising in him is rlly Not Dealing Well w all this hate n one panicked night, decides to look up places to run to where people don’t know his name 😩 during his search he finds out ab the secluded maehwa mansion that recently opened up, so he packs his bags n the rest is history!!

The Ledge #555: This And That

Once again we have a show devoted primarily to material I've been listening to around the house. Honestly, since it was announced that Television's Tom Verlaine had passed away on January 28, 2023, I have wanted to do a little tribute to him on The Ledge. So tonight you can hear a handful of his classic Television and solo tunes. RIP.

There's also a wide variety of tunes that comprise almost 60 years of rock and roll. There's a handful of garage rock classics from the acclaimed Pebbles series. There's a track from one of Robert Gordon's collaborations with guitarist Link Wray. There's also a sort of tribute to Burt Bachrach in the form of a Stranglers cover that somehow caught my ear a day or so before the announcement of his death.

And there's also a couple of sets of new tunes, primarily songs that were cut from last week's new release episode, along with more cuts from recent Rum Bar Records releases. I've also premiered the newly reissued single from Popsicko on Big Stir Records, which was officially released today. (Look for a full album later this spring).

Don't think that I've forgotten about my yearlong sub-theme, "52 Weeks of Teenage Kicks". This week's submission is from a great friend who has not only been a Ledge listener for over a decade but he's a bigtime supporter of RealPunkRadio in general. This full moon will be opposing the sun and mercury in capricorn, bringing to our attention, in my opinion that we need to relearn how we nurture, care for, show love, and the way we support others. Compliments on their looks and accomplishments is nice and all but it kinda is feeding into the culture of narcissm and sending the message that you're only valued by your looks, status, appearance, material things, our egotistical selves. From a young age, we've all been conditioned to believe this, people treat you better if you look your best or fit a specific beauty standard. That's why so many people today live to impress others and keep up appearances with surgery, cosmetics, filters in anyway to make themselves look better bc they feel like who they are aside from that isn't enough..

I feel like we need to rethink how much of our behaviors, praise for others, and admiration are based on superficial things. Constantly telling people they're beautiful, handsome, talented, it's appreciated ofc, but is that all they are to us at the end of the day? Does that help them become a better person, does that validate their entire self, does it do more harm than good?

We should try to be more constructive and maybe get to know people on a deeper level. Appreciate their authenticity, their humanness, who they are at their core.

And for us moms/parents out there this new moon in cancer is also shedding light on our home life, our children, our parenting styles. Remember to not bring our traumas, expectations, egos to be tied to our children in a negative way. Little by little provide building blocks for our young ones to develop into their own person with none of our baggage attached. Don't praise or prioritize only superficial things bc we know looking good these days is so important in the world, but try to challenge ourselves to look beyond that and be more impactful with our kids. Praise kindness, responsibility, being respectful, balance out the serious/stern side (capricorn) with our emotional/loving side. You don't have to be mean to teach your children a lesson, and you don't have to be too careful and sweet either. It's more important to teach your children how to survive in this crazy world, so try your best to focus on what's important.

Pallas is conjuncting the moon in the 1st house, house of self. So we all are becoming aware of our emotional nature, matters of the home/security, maybe how we parent/nurture ourselves. Take leadership to give yourself emotional fulfillment and create environments that make you want to thrive. Even if that means cutting out/placing boundaries against the people in our lives who are reminding us of our past unhealed selves, this is family members, old friends, people and places that we have now outgrown. It's time to take matters into your own hands and live for yourself, demand a good life. With the past few years we've all be struggling, experienced death after death of loved ones. We can't keep holding ourselves back from being our purest, bravest, comfiest, emotional, messy, and authentic selves...were only here for a limited time.

A lot of people... aka me🙄, are so far gone from who we were as a child, who had no limits, insecurities, self hate, inner judgment.

So it's just something to think about.

The moon, sun, mercury will also be squaring chiron in aries so it may flare up some insecurities and issues related to our identity and how we show up in our lives. Egos will be flared, we may be stubborn and impulsive, trying hard to control everything and hide away. Regardless of it all, our insecurities are bound to be seen, you might as well just say fuck it and put less pressure on being perfect or socially acceptable. What's more important then being perfect is just being a good person, being someone who makes others feel heard, respected, safe no matter how diff we are we have the same instinctual/emotional needs.

Ceres is in libra in the 4th house opposite chiron so to me that's how I see this all.

- Having water signs in earth houses can lead to a muddy foundation: Here the act of balance could be crucial. Water and Earth create a muddy ground, which can be extremly nourishing (as water signs seek security just as much as earth signs on that level), but too much water and everything drowns. Water signs in earth houses can create a big fear of loosing security and initate a constant, underlying worry in an individual. Stability and security could depend on the emotional state of a person. Setting the right mindset and believe system, as well as confidence will play a big role here.

- I noticed that men with Virgo Mars(!) and Virgo rising can have a very ‘wiry’ apereance regarding their limbs, they can also have sinewy hands, but especially feet. It doesn’t matter if they are smaller or muscular, there is always something stretched and delicate about them. Also: they tend to have tiny/well defined waists and delicate hips.

- If you have Aquarius with a mixture of earth, especially Virgo, touching your Ascendant/1st house or any other placement that relates to your physical appereance, it can give you a tendency to have an androginous look.

- This is more for fun, but asteroid Adonis (2101) can give you an insight of what type of male figure you find attractive.

- 10th house placements can be extremly polarizing and actually very controversial. Not only does it put a planet and sign in the house of our reputation, but also in a house that shows us how we want to leave our mark in society and establish ourself in it. People with planets, especially personal ones, could have felt like their image always plays into things or they are always risking their repuation. Because their image is empathized here (also by the 10th house individual themself) these people can be really calculated and strategic. Also, very private and secretive, this bears the potential for carrying a ‘mask of professionalism’ for too long and people might get a wrong idea of how they actually are, and the 10th house native themself could sometimes lose touch with their unfiltered, naked self.

- People who have strong Water influence in their personal planets, Pluto/Neptune/Mercury/Moon in the 1st/2nd/3rd or dominant can become easily sensory overloaded when nervous/emotionally unwell, every sound/smell/touch can become extremly overbearing. This can also be true to people with strong Virgo/Gemini or even Taurus influence.

- People with very distinguished/prominent teeth or a signature smile can have Capricorn touching placements of personal appereance.

- Moon in Capricorn does have a link to society but I believe it’s not in the way most people think. Capricorn Moon can have a very deep emotional link to the way they want to build and contribute to society and thus they can be very concerned with the impact they leave on it. Capricorn is linked to the preservation and building of society and now try to set this into the emotional realm: this placement is not solely occupied with ‘‘making sure they are financially stable’’, a lot of Capricorn Moons I’ve met always had some sort of dream or motivation of how they want to contribute to society or leave a mark, because they are literally emotionally invested in it and thus are extremly passionate as well. Another thing can be that they also suffer from the way their are perceived and looked at in public, or the large collective can have a huge influence on their emotional nature. Thus they can often decide to take action and directly adjust their environment to their likings (aka why they can be so incredibly hard working and ambitious).

Favorite performances from 2020 and also from 2021? (it doesn't matter if you haven't seen much, just curious)

I appreciate this ask since I'm not going to get to do a drama awards type post, and there were definitely some standout performances in the past 2 years that I didn't get the chance to talk about. So, in no particular order, here we go:

Since I already talked about this in my 2020 top 10 I'll mention it again here: I think Oh Jung Se is a strong contender is I was giving out my own personal Daesang. Not only was his role as Moon Sang Tae in It's Okay to Not Be Okay one of the finest pieces of acting I've seen in a drama, during the same period he was also putting in a performance as a chilling sociopath in The Good Detective. I was watching the two dramas at the same time, and seeing him in both roles was giving me whiplash.

In 2021 his performance was probably the single best thing about Jirisan, which turned out to be a ludicrous mess. I haven't watched Uncle yet, but I expect I'm going to like him there too. He's just a consistent and powerful character actor. I'm a big fan.

Recently I finished watching The Red Sleeve, and I have a lot of complicated feelings about it. It's one of those dramas that keeps you unsettled and conflicted until the end. But that isn't to say that the lead actors aren't incredible in it, just the opposite in fact. Lee Jun Ho and Lee Se Young play off each other so well. They manage the ambivalence and complex range of emotions those character require with a subtlety and deftness that was really top notch. I can't imagine anyone else in those roles.

I've been a fan of Lee Se Young since I first saw her in The Best Hit. And of course she's been acting since she was a child, and is a well known talent, but in the past couple of years she's cemented herself as one of my favorite female leads. Her performance was the standout for me in Kairos too, but I just love to see her in these historical roles. She was phenomenal in Crowned Clown too, and Red Sleeve feels like the natural continuation and maturation of her abilities. You love to see it.

On the lighter side, Shin Hye Sun came out and absolutely slayed me in a double role as So Yong/Bong Hwan in Mr. Queen. She could not have been more perfect. The way she embodied the character of Bong Hwan, her mannerisms, the tone of her voice, her comedic timing. But she also nailed the heavier scenes. Easily one of my all time favorite comedic performances.

You can't really talk about acting in 2021 without talking about Shin Ha Kyun in Beyond Evil. I don't want to get too deep into it, because I'm going to talk about it more in my 2021 list (spoilers, I guess) but he devoured the role of Lee Dong Shik. That drama is tightly and compellingly written, but without Ha Kyun it wouldn't have lived up to the half of its potential, in my opinion.

A few additional notable mentions: I know a lot of people didn't watch it and it's one of those slow dramas that requires the right kind of temperament to enjoy, but I loved Jeon Do Yeon and Ryu Jun Yeol in Human Disqualification aka Lost. It was also just lovely to see Ryu Jun Yeol return to dramaland after so long exclusively making movies, and to see him give a really wonderful, subtle performance that really had him showing off his acting shops. And then I think the underrated performance of 2021 was Jang Nara as Hong Ji Ah in Sell Your Haunted House. She really just showed us everything in that role. Grit, anger, grief. Her scenes with her mom just tore me up. It was an unusual character from her and I would love to see more like it in the future.
