i need to start eating salmon because my body is lacking in so many beneficial nutriets that are in salmon and it’s literally the quickest and most effective way for me to get those nutrients.
however, i fucking hate the taste of fish and the Autism will not let me touch raw meat or fish with my bare hands. i got dad to skin the salmon fillet i had for dinner for me and then i brushed it with a honey, soy, and chilli dressing i made with a pastry brush and whacked it in the air fryer. i served it with some broccoli and rice (my faves) and honestly, it wasn’t That bad. it was Manageable but not the Best.
anyway, this is the long way of me asking if anyone has any good salmon fillet recipes or tips they can share with me that will help to mask the taste of fish where i don’t have to touch the fillet directly

Salmon Bowls
5 salmon fillets , 4-6oz each
2 cups dry jasmine rice (or use white rice, sushi rice, brown rice, or coconut rice)
1 1/2 cups edamame , shelled
1 English cucumber , sliced
6 green onions , chopped
2 mangos , peeled and cubed
2 avocados , peeled, seeded and cubed
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Sriracha mayo* for topping (optional)
Teriyaki Sauce:
½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 Tablespoons rice vinegar
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 cup + 1 Tablespoon light brown sugar
1 Tablespoon honey
¾ teaspoon ground ginger
1 clove garlic , minced
2 teaspoons cornstarch+ 2 tsp water , mixed together to make a cornstarch slurry
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
Make Teriyaki Sauce (can made and refrigerated several days ahead): Add all of the sauce ingredients to a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and boil for about 1 minute. The sauce should be thick enough to coat the back of the spoon. Allow to cool.
Marinate Salmon: Pour 1/4 cup of the teriyaki sauce over the raw salmon and set aside to marinate for at least 20 minutes or up to overnight.
Cook rice according to package instructions.
Cook Salmon: (I prefer the air fryer, but see baking and grilling instructions in notes.) Preheat air fryer to 400ºF. Spray basket with non-stick spray and place salmon filets inside. Air fry for about 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through (flakes easily with a fork, or about 125-135 degrees if testing with a thermometer).
Assemble Salmon Bowls: Divide rice among the bowls and top with a piece of teriyaki salmon, some avocado, edamame, mango and cucumber.
Garnish: Drizzle teriyaki and sriracha mayo over the top and garnish with chopped green onion and cilantro.
Notes
Sriracha Mayo: Mix 1/4 cup mayonnaise with 1.5 Tablespoons Sriracha. I love Kewpie Japanese Mayo.
Baked Salmon: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Remove salmon from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off and place on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes, just until cooked through.
Grilled Salmon: Leave the salmon filets whole. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place skin side down on grill over medium heat. Close lid and cook for about 6 minutes. Flip the salmon flesh side down onto the well-oiled grill and cook for another 3-4 more minutes or until the salmon reaches 145 degrees F. Remove to a plate.

Super Super Bowl Recipe - Air Fryer Salmon Bites with Homemade Ranch Dip
When I first saw this recipe,I knew I would be trying it because as you’ve probably figured out…I love salmon! I also don’t use my air fryer as often as want to and this was the perfect opportunity to put it to use and make something delicious! The only thing I would strongly recommend is having your fish monger take the skin off of the salmon for you because it’s such a pain to do it yourself!
This recipe comes together in a blink and I promise if anyone is home when you make it, they’ll be standing around waiting to eat a fresh, warm, delicious salmon bite as soon as they come out of the air fryer! I’m usually not a ranch lover, but making a homemade ranch dip is a game changer and so easy that I’m sure I’ll never buy ranch in a bottle again! These salmon bits are perfect for any occasion…I even served them with coconut rice (my go to) and avocado last night for dinner because I made so many! When I first saw the recipe I thought it would be great for a Super Bowl snack, but be sure to make plenty because these delicious little nuggets go quickly! The recipe is below…let me know if you try this and please guys…leave a comment!
A squeeze of fresh lemon makes these bites even more irresistible and I sprinkled a little of my favorite Honey Aleppo Seasoning over the entire platter. This is entirely optional, but very delicious! I use this seasoning on everything…there is nothing like it!
Recipe
I hope you’re having a great weekend! The sun is shining here and it’s cold but beautiful!

WEEK II So we have come to the end of week 2 and I have lost a total of 13.8lbs (6.3kg). I am very please with this; I have even had some treats this week like some Camembert Cheese with Breadsticks, a small amount of Aero Chocolate and some liquorice All Sorts left over from Christmas. I am trying to still eat food I love to eat like bread and bacon but just not necessarily in the same meal. We are having fish and chips for tea tomorrow from the chippy, I cannot wait but I will be having a smaller portion thats for sure! This weeks food has been a success I would say as my husband and I have found that a tomato cut in half with two big mushroom done in the Air Fryer topped with an egg is an amazing breakfast. I add spinach for that extra bit of iron. I have also had granola with yogurt and frozen blueberries. My snacks have sometime also been yogurt with up to three different fruits toped with some Sunflower and Pumpkin Seeds for the fibre. My evening meal today was Salmon, Air Fried for crispy skin with some Prawns in a Teriyaki sauce served with Brown Rice and Stir Fried Vegetables. It was delicious. I have now figured out how to use my Hula Hoop ball thing from tiktok I brought myself and I have to say with the right music to do it to, its really quite good fun. I have been doing it for around 10 minutes at the moment until I can build up a bit more stamina and my feet and legs stop hurting. I am aiming for 15 minutes every other day. I do it just before I have my lunch keeps me eager for food. Anyway thats this week, lets smash next.

Heat an air fryer for 10 minutes at 390ºF.
Place smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl and stir to combine. Check salmon fillet for pin bones and remove any missed bones with tweezers or pliers. Season the salmon on all sides with the spice mixture. Drizzle the salmon with olive oil and rub to evenly coat.

When stored properly, it will keep for up to 3 days. To prevent this from happening, keep it in an airtight container (this will also prevent the fish from smelling up your fridge!). Salmon is prone to drying out and developing a tough crust in storage.
#Perfect layers .9 full#
You can also serve it alongside creamy cauliflower rice with chicken for a low-carb meal full of protein.
Entree: Serve the salmon fillets as an entree alongside an air fryer baked potato, air fryer asparagus, or any other veggie you’re craving.
Salad Toppers: For a quick and healthy lunch or dinner, use the salmon fillets as toppers for caesar salad, arugula caprese salad, or quinoa kale and avocado salad.
For a quick brunch, pop the salmon on a toasted bagel with cream cheese, red onions, capers, and tomato slices.

Hot Tip: Pat the salmon fillets with a paper towel before you season them to help the dry seasonings “stick” better. Adjust the cooking time depending on the thickness of your fillet. Lower the cooking time if your fillets are thinner and increase it if they are on the thicker side. For the most accurate reading, make sure to stick the thermometer into the thickest part of the salmon fillet. Use a meat thermometer to gauge doneness. If you’re unsure if your salmon is fully cooked, use a meat thermometer to check if the internal temperature has reached 145☏.If you’re not a fan of the skin, you can always easily remove it after removing it from the air fryer. It also protects the salmon from overcooking. Use skin-on salmon if you can. Using salmon with the skin-on will help to keep all the juices inside the fish.Top the salmon with butter to add moisture. To prevent the salmon from drying out in the high heat, top each fillet with a couple of butter slices.Make sure the fillet is well-coated in the garlic parsley salt and you’ll be good to go. ¼ cup lemon juice - approx. one freshly squeezed lemon
2 garlic cloves - minced
1 tsp lemon zest
salt and pepper - to taste
Sweet and Spicy Marinade
1 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup soy sauce - or tamari sauce
1 Tbsp honey - or maple syrup
1 Tbsp lemon juice
½ Tbsp hot sauce
salt and pepper - to taste
Honey Mustard Marinade
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp dijon mustard
2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp whole grain mustard
½ tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper - to taste
Chili Lime Marinade
1 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup lime juice - approx. 3 freshly squeezed limes
½ Tbsp lime zest
½ tsp chili powder
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp paprika
salt and pepper - to taste
Italian Herb Marinade
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 garlic cloves - minced
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
salt and pepper - to taste
Orange Ginger Marinade
1 Tbsp olive oil
¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 Tbsp orange zest
2 garlic cloves - minced
1 ½ tsp ground ginger
salt and pepper - to taste
Directions
Salmon Marinade Instructions
Add all marinade ingredients to a small bowl and mix together.
Add salmon to a glass container or plastic bag and pour marinade sauce overtop. Container should be small enough so that salmon can soak up the sauce. Seal the bag/container and let sit in fridge for 1-2 hours before cooking. Salmon can also marinade overnight in the fridge.
Baking Salmon Instructions
Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place salmon fillet skin side down on the baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until salmon is easily flaked with a fork. (If you have small salmon fillets, just cook for less time).
Pan Frying Salmon Instructions
Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat with cooking oil. Once the pan is hot, add the salmon so skin side is facing up. Cook for 2-3 minutes then flip over so skin side is down. Pour the leftover marinade sauce over top of the salmon and cook for another 3-5 minutes. I like to watch the clock during this time because I’m not a fan of overcooked salmon.
At this point, depending on how thick the salmon is, the sides of the salmon should have just turned white and it should be cooked. To check you can use a fork to see if the salmon flakes easily. If it does, and the insides aren’t translucent, then it’s cooked. Remove from heat.
Grilling Salmon Instructions
Heat barbecue to medium heat, place salmon on the grill, skin side up. Cover and let cook for about 5 minutes, then flip. Pour extra marinade over top and cook an additional 5 minutes. Salmon will be done when easily flaked with a fork.
Air Frying Instructions
Lightly coat the inside of the air fryer tray or basket with olive oil or cooking spray. Add the salmon fillets skin side up to the tray. Cook at 400°F for 10 minutes, then flip them over and pour leftover marinade on top. Cook an additional 10 minutes, or until fully cooked.
Notes
Prepping Marinades
If you’re buying a large salmon fillet, I recommend slicing it into smaller portions first, as soon as you get home from the grocery store. This is also when you can add the marinade to the salmon. Get out multiple freezer bags to divide up the salmon, then place the marinade ingredients inside and seal. These can be placed in the fridge or freezer depending on when you’ll be using them.
Marinating Time
I like to marinate my salmon overnight to get the most flavor. But if I’m short on time, I’ll marinate for one hour minimum and then cook. Also, because the marinade has been in contact with raw salmon, it’s not safe to reuse it, so don’t save it for next time. You can still add the marinade with the salmon while it’s cooking. But discard any leftover marinade that has come in contact with the raw fish.
Storage Tips
You can use Ziploc freezer bags to freeze your salmon. When adding ingredients to your freezer bags, you can place the chicken in a glass container with a lid in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Defrosting Tips
I always take out my salmon from the freezer the night before I’m ready to cook and place it in a bowl of shallow water in the fridge. This will help to speed up the defrost process. Just make sure it’s completely sealed and that the top of the bag is not inside the water (you don’t want any water to get inside of the bag).
Cooking Tips
You can cook your marinating salmon in a variety of ways. I’ve cooked mine in the frying pan, baked it and even used the air fryer. I’ll go over how to cook your salmon in more detail below.
