The focus on combat in the hulu series is very telling to me because, like, Heller didn’t just omit that from the book for no reason. It would have been better world-building to explain why flak is so dangerous, go over the positioning/seniority of people in each plane, and how a bomb sight + rear cockpit works, but Yossarian doesn’t care and neither should you.
