On February 18th 1957, Kenyan freedom fighter, Dedan Kimathi, was executed by the British. He led the KLFA (MauMau) revolution against the brutal British occupation of his country.
Dedan Kimathi, was hanged at dawn at Kamiti, just over 48 hours after his leave of appeal had been rejected by the Privy Council.
He was executed on a charge of carrying a revolver, which, under the Emergency Regulations, was punishable by death.
The basis of Kimathi's request for leave of appeal at the Privy Council was that he was on his way to surrender, and was not in fact "captured."
He also revealed that he was taking in his arms as was required of those who surrendered. The judges, however, rejected this without hearing his lawyer, describing them as "lies”.
Kimathi went calmly to his death and was described by a senior prison official who was present at the execution as a model prisoner. "To the last he was composed and quiet," he said.
At his own request, a Roman Catholic priest spent the whole night with him in his cell.
Although many African leaders were hesistant to condemn the execution out of fear of being labelled Mau Mau sympathisers, anti colonial activists from different parts of the world were quite forthright in their criticism.
“I don’t lead terrorists. I lead Africans who want their self government and land.” — D. Kimathi

“Yo no dirijo terroristas. — D. Kimathi

You don't honor the actor who passed away unfortunately by killing off the character they brought to life. You honor them by continuing to tell their stories, you don't need to kill T'Challa at the expense of elevating Shuri or any other character in the film. Both Characters can be alive and share the spot light, both can shine together. Shuri's and T'Challa relationship was the highlight of the first solo film why would you want to get rid of that dynamic? Don't use Chadwick Boseman's IRL illness as part of your plot let the character live, let us see what kind of King he would be once opening the boarders to Wakanda let us get to see him in all his glory. Even if you pass the mantle on we can have both and shouldn't have to choose.

Welcome to my Tumblr blog where I'll be sharing insights into the fascinating lifestyle of a Ghanaian student! Ghana is a beautiful West African country known for its rich culture and warm people. Being a student in Ghana is a unique experience that is full of adventure, learning, and fun.
As a Ghanaian student, life can be very busy and demanding, but we are known to take it all in stride with a smile on our faces. Our typical day begins early in the morning, with a quick breakfast of porridge, bread, or tea, before heading off to school. Traffic in Accra, the capital city, can be quite heavy, but we find ways to navigate it and still make it to class on time.
Once in class, we are engaged in various academic activities such as lectures, group projects, and assignments. Ghanaian students take their academics seriously and are always eager to learn, ask questions, and engage with their professors. We also enjoy participating in extracurricular activities like sports, music, dance, and drama.
During breaks, we often grab a quick snack from the campus canteen or food vendors nearby. Ghanaian cuisine is delicious, and we have a wide variety of options to choose from, including jollof rice, waakye, banku, and fufu. We also love our street foods like kelewele (spicy fried plantains) and bofrot (doughnuts).
After classes, we may spend time studying in the library, socializing with friends, or attending student association meetings. Ghanaian students are known for their friendliness, and we enjoy making new connections and building relationships.
As the day comes to a close, we head back home to our families, where we enjoy a home-cooked meal with our loved ones. Ghanaian families are very close-knit, and we value spending time together, sharing stories, and catching up on each other's lives.
Weekends are often spent doing chores, attending religious services, or participating in community events. Ghanaian students are actively involved in community service and are committed to making a positive impact in their communities.
In conclusion, being a Ghanaian student is a unique and fulfilling experience. We are hardworking, friendly, and love to have fun. We are proud of our rich culture and heritage and are always eager to share it with the world.

Princess Yennenga
The Warrior Princess and the Mother of Mossi Kingdom (modern day Burkina Faso) in West Africa.
Princess Yennenga was the beloved daughter of the Dagomba king, Nedega, who ruled in the 12th century. Not only was she beautiful, she was also a cultural icon and a warrior. At just 14, she fought against the neighbouring kingdom, the Malinkes.
Not only did she have excellent skills with javelins, spears and bows, she also commanded her own battalion. Her prowess as a horsewoman and as a fighter made her revered by all and loved some more by her father.
Yennenga ran away from home after her father refused to let her get married. He wanted her to be a warrior but she wanted a different fate. During her sojourn, she was fought with the Malinkes, fell in love a man named Riale, and birthed a son called Ouedraogo.
Ouedraogo, upon reaching adulthood, left his parents home and travelled north, where he formed the kingdom of Tenkodogo, which is considered the cradle of the Mossi Kingdoms.
It is for this reason that Yennenga is called the mother of the Mossi people. She has been honoured with a number of statues and roads have been named after her in Burkina Faso. The Burkinabe national football team is called Les Étalons (The Stallions) after Yennenga's famous horse.

Princesa Yennenga
