Make My Wish Come True (1)
Chris Evans x Racist (Race) former Afghani citizen reader.
Tumblr media
“We’re goin’ down to Kabultown!” Chris Evans yelled happily over the sound of the wind rushing into the car windows as he drove up the freeway. He was racing east on the 10 Freeway toward downtown Fremont, California from Los Angeles with his two best friends. They had finished the Avengers’ Franchise with the last movie: Endgame. The big cast parties were over, but now, on a perfect June evening, the trio wanted one more night on the town together before going their separate ways.
Tonight, Chris was treating his friends. A famous Hollywood A-list actor. He was on magazine covers and voiced anime and cartoon characters in children's movies like Toy Story. He had even received a startling amount of money from his director’s check. He at first did not know what to do with his cash. Why? He is single and lonely. He dated here and there but he never loved them. He tried to love but there was only lust and he had to separate. Now, with his wad of cash in his wallet, he was taking his friends out to dinner.
Filling the shotgun seat with his bulk, Sebastian Stan folded his arms across his broad chest. “I say Las Vegas is better. There are lots of pretty girls there.”
Hooting with laughter, Robert Downey Jr. leaned between them from the back. “If you want girls so much. Why do you reject your fans’ thirst tweets?”
Sebastian gave him a light-hearted swat with the back of his hand. “I do not want a hookup. I want the real deal.  My parents met in Las Vegas. Maybe my bride is there.”
Chris laughed. He and Sebastian felt envy towards Robert. He has a wife and daughter. They both want a family to settle down. Dating was not something they wanted to do anymore.
“Maybe your bride is an actress?” Robert laughed.
All three roared in laughter.
“Speaking of actresses. Remember that movie “Kabultown?” Robert grinned impishly. “The one starring Yul Brynner? The last line was classic.”
Sebastian turned to Chris. “Damn it, he’s going to refer to a pop culture quote again.”
“He’s unstoppable.” Chris shook his head.
“Forget it, Angelo. It’s Kabultown.” Robert intoned.
Sebastian gave him another back-handed slap.
Chris sped on, the skyscrapers of downtown in view ahead. He would start visiting men in suits very soon. He wants to not be in a series of movies but an independent movie like the movie he did for Knives Out. He liked the different roles he used to do when he was younger. Tonight, he was taking his two best pals to a particular restaurant. A special young lady caught his attention on youtube a month ago. Her comment was interesting so he clicked on her profile. She was a (race) 18 year old girl who was born and raised in Afghanistan and at age thirteen she moved to Fremont, California. It seems that a lot of Afghans would live in Fremont. He wondered how come. He did not know anything about Afghanistan. Other than the part that they are bad people by the media. To his shame, Chris felt stupid when he realized that Afghanistan is in Asia and not the Middle East. He thought all of those Muslim ruled countries are in deserts and trashy places. It was not particularly his fault. Hollywood would make Afghanistan an awful place. Like Robert. His first Iron Man movie was located in Afghanistan where the bad guys were. Your youtube channel had nothing interesting to others. It just showed that she worked as a waitress at this Afghani restaurant and attended community college. But, to Chris, she was interesting, she made videos in Pashto of cooking and sewing. She had closed captions on her videos. But, Chris could care less about the food she was cooking or the dresses. I mean, the food looked delicious no doubt. The Afghani dresses looked like weird pajamas. But, he was memorized by her. Her voice was so lovely. Feminine and pure. As if she was singing. He had no clue what she was saying without the subtitles. But, God, what a darling she was or in Steve Rogers’ case: a dame.
Her raw skin looked as if it was filtered by photoshop. He knew that is how she really looked because she moved around. Glowing and healthy. Clean and young was what described her skin. Her eyes were (small, big, round) it made her look so cute like a lolita. He had to make sure she was an adult. She did not look eighteen at all. A middle schooler but her height and her certified tweet of her community college made him sigh in relief.
Chris felt something sleeping inside him wake up. No. Not sex. He slept with many women. This is something he felt in his penis and heart. Fuck. Is this love? Chris always liked Disney movies. When he sees your videos, he feels like a young prince. Instead of a middle aged actor. Where has she been all his life?
Chris hadn’t told Sebastian or Robert about you.
Beyond the skyscrapers beckoned Kabultown, a strange and mysterious island of Pashtun culture in the American greater part of California.
Out of sight over the coast, the sun remained high, but downtown and in Kabultown, tall buildings threw shadows that gave the streets an air of mystery. Storefronts were darkened and the streets seemed empty. Most of the people visible from the street were Pashtuns, many wearing work uniforms or dirty aprons. When they spoke to each other, they sprinkled their own slang, using words that rarely entered mainstream English.
“I have heard Kabultown has all kinds of underground tunnels, secret rooms, and passageways,” Said Robert. “Maybe it’s just an urban myth, but rumors go way back.”
“Urban myth.” Sebastian shrugged. “Let’s talk about the Ghost of the Sha (King) of Persia.”
Robert chuckled and gave Sebastian a whack on the arm. Sebastian smirked back.
Chris shook his head. He loved his best friends. They were like his brothers. He then parked his expensive sports car and led his friends up the sidewalk, looking around. He didn’t remember the name of the restaurant. It was a weeknight, with few tourists out.
Some of the tourist-based businesses in Kabultown had carpet shops. They were beautiful and handmade. Bread and bakery was included. Afghani ovens were just holes in the ground before the fire. Can one believe it?. Another was a pet shop. Cats are favored for some reason. None of it seemed to belong in this world but Kabultown it belonged. Chris never expected to be here. He loves Beer and dogs. Maybe he was attracted to that waitress due to being opposites.
“Smells good.” Said Robert. “Is that Kabob cooking?”
“I smell mantu (beef dumplings).” Sebastian nodded. “Yo, Chris. This place better have something alcoholic. I am not religious at all.”
Chris ignored him, eyeing a narrow storefront jammed between a big cafe and a bank. A couple in their twenties stepped out. Chris caught the guy’s eye. “You know a Pakhtana named (Name)?”
“Ha! You know one who’s not?” The guy laughed way too loud. With a sigh, Chris blinked and saw a familiar cuisine restaurant. Kandahar Jannat (Heaven). The place where she worked!
Nervous but excited to finally meet the girl of his dreams along with his best pals who might be his best men at his wedding, he held the door for the two of them.
Today was the day he was to get her number.
Change of POV
“Hello, Sultans.” You came over to three men wearing expensive clothes you have seen in the mall. A twinge of envy pricked your heart. Oh, how you wished to afford designer labelled clothes. You had to sew all your crap. People would make fun of your clothes and call them pajamas or rags. That was why you were in community college. You came to America middle aged and by the time you were an adult, your English was still broken. Currently, you are working for higher education. You picked up the menus from the counter.
“Hi.” Chris grinned, he was glad to see you again. “Three of us.” Chris peeked at his friends. Sebastian was looking at you like Chris first did. Robert looked at Chris and nodded in approval.
“This way, please.” You bowed a little and led them to a weird place to sit. Chris felt hurt when you did not seem to recognize him. He also felt good too. Why? If you knew how famous he was, would you act different or the same? As for the seats, it was so different. Mattresses of stitched carpets laid on the floor and so did a tablecloth. There were candles and no modern lamps giving the place a dark atmosphere. How strange are Afghans. Robert smirked at Chris and nudged him in the ribs.
Chris saw your face before you turned away to get the cookies and tea set. You looked much lovelier in person. Damn. A barbie doll that you are. Fuck. He felt his pants tighten. He did not want to scare you so he looked down to his phone and pretended to be busy.
Sebastian blinked at Chris curiously and Chris winked back. Sebastian nodded and caught on.
“I wonder if the building has secret rooms or hidden tunnels.” Robert nibbled on a pistachio cookie.
You placed a strange tea set in front of the men. No handles similar to Chinese tea cups and something Chris saw you cooking in one of your youtube videos. Turkish Baklavas. The thought of you being his wife and him fucking you on the kitchen counter made his bulge come out more and wet. You are his Endgame.

Five songs you’ve been listening to on repeat recently?
Delta Dawn [remix] - Skeewiff [sampling the original by Tanya Tucker. It's simply a straight up banger.] A Happening - Hyperstory [Inexplicably brilliant, I don't completely dislike everything else I've heard by them, but if you ever hear any one song from them, and nothing else, make it this the track.] Hayling - FC/Kahuna - [Almost meditative for so many reasons, it's impossible for me to place this into a specific genre, or explain how or why its so great.] Kiss the Sky - Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra [Another genre-bending track that's hard for me to put a finger on. I can't say that I've enjoyed most of what else I've heard from Shawn Lee, but this track is unparalleled in its brilliance. The lyrics are among the most important and beautiful words I've ever heard, and it often drives me to tears in a great and beautiful way.] Delhi Belly - MarchFourth Marching Band [It's literally impossible for me to not dance to this track, even seated with my injured ankle. It's a perfect blend of New Orleans Jazz Funk, World Beats, and a incredible performers. If I ever had a TV show, podcast, or radio show... this would have to be the theme, price be damned.]
Last movie you watched?
Harvey (1950) - This was a classic play from a gifted playwriter, turned a quintennial cinematic classic. It stars James Stewart, reprising the role from both British and American stage, as an almost "Mister Rogers" pleasant milquetoast who is a beloved, generous wealthy heir who is treated relatively normally by most of his friends and fellow townspeople in spite of his best friend and constant companion, Harvey, who is an invisible fairy spirit [a Pooka in Irish mythology] in the form of a giant rabbit, apparently seen only by the main character. His family and most of the townspeople blame the apparition on alcoholism and they attempt to have him committed, but as the story goes on, more questions begin to arise as to whether or not the hero really needs medication or commitment... and whether or not Harvey is actually real. For my younger friends, yes, it's pretty likely that Donnie Darko is at least partially based upon this story, albeit probably a much darker version [I've never seen the latter].
Currently watching?
Looking quite forward to the new season of Bar Rescue, a documentary/"reality style" show about floundering, often mismanaged taverns/bars/restaurants in need of fresh ideas and/or better management skills.
Currently watching the second season of Bob <3 Abishola which is a sitcom about the budding romance and future marriage of a middle-aged small-garment manufacturing industrialist trying to run his father's business in Detroit and a stern, but loving and caring Nigerian-American hospital nurse who is both supported and sometimes beset with her overbearing, well-meaning immigrant family.
Also United States of Al which is a sitcom about a discharged US-Afghanistan war vet who is currently separated from his wife, living with his father and adult sister, and is now hosting his former Afghan-born translator from the war who recently arrived in the US and hopes to become an American citizen. I've only seen a couple episodes of this, but it has some potential.
Fellowship of the Ring: Lord of the Rings Saga - J.R.R. Tolkien; which on a personal note is the first novel I've been able to read in at least seven years[!!], ADHD is a harsh mistress. The LOTR books are kind of like [please forgive the term] an Autistic dream and an ADHD nightmare. There's so much infodumping about Middle Earth, even in dialogue sometimes, but yes, long sentences, extremely detailed histories, literally thousands of character, setting, and creature names to mentally keep track of. My mother said she literally had to take notes when reading it, and I get why. Sometimes a character or place name is casually mentioned and it takes me a second to remember; some characters AND place names have two or three different names, which makes it even more confusing, but it's still a lot of fun!
Okay then.... I tag @cyazurai @kimbr3 @cliosimming @mysandy0610 @seaslugsims @orchidlyhere @theplumblob @cindysimblr @wannabecatwriter @potentialfate-sims @azuhrasims

Want More Science? Get A Thousand Splendid Suns
This book is a very good book to read!
Do you want to read it ?
A Thousand Splendid Suns is a breathtaking story set against the volatile events of Afghanistan's last thirty years - from the Soviet invasion to the reign of the Taliban to post-Taliban rebuilding - that puts the violence, fear, hope, and faith of this country in intimate, human terms. It is a tale of two generations of characters brought jarringly together by the tragic sweep of war, where personal lives - the struggle to survive, raise a family, find happiness - are inextricable from the history playing out around them.Propelled by the same storytelling instinct that made The Kite Runner a beloved classic, A Thousand Splendid Suns is at once a remarkable chronicle of three decades of Afghan history and a deeply moving account of family and friendship. It is a striking, heart-wrenching novel of an unforgiving time, an unlikely friendship, and an indestructible love - a stunning accomplishment.--front flap

Timing Tips:
How long a bingo game lasts depends on what pace you read the clues at and how many players you have. If you read faster, such as for older or more experienced students, or if you have more players, the game tends to end more quickly. In general, I suggest allocating between twenty and thirty minutes to a bingo game. Since they can potentially end as early as the fourth word called, though that is quite rare, I encourage you to keep playing in the event of the game being over earlier than you expected it to be. Almost 90% of bingo games with a 25 word list and 25 players will see their first bingo within 7 to 11 words being called.
