Aerosucre and exceeding takeoff weight limits, name a more iconic duo

Cargo plane clipped a tree as it took off and was filmed passing mere feet above electrical wires

A cargo aircraft that struck the top of a tree at the end of a runway as it took off was 606lbs (274kg) overweight, according to an early investigation by Colombia's Aeronautica Civil.

The incident occurred in Colombia and involved an Aerosucre Boeing 737-200 — with pilots slammed for attempting flight despite knowing the aircraft was overweight.

Great Job by pilots In flight An Aerosucre Colombia Boeing 737-200, registration HK-5026 performing a freight flight from Mitu to an unknown destination (Colombia), returned to Mitu for a safe landing on runway 20 because the main cargo door was open or opened in flight. The cargo door remained attached, was wide open in flight during the final approach and fell down into a nearly shut position during roll out. The damage to the aircraft needs to be assessed. .
