So I typed up a long response with facts and lore snippets about how things change in the 40k universe all the time and was ready to post it as a response to a Facebook thread going insane about the new Woman Custode. But then I thought better of it and deleted it.

These people crying about it dont care about either lore or facts. They have their hate and misogyny and that is all that matters. They love to make others just as miserable as themselves and I refuse to engage in that.

Its like the old saying, “Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their leven and beat you with experience.

So what can we do that is actually constructive to meet these idiots? Do it with love, with happiness and joy. Trolls crack in the sunlight after all.

If you have a Facebook or Twitter account, go to the post and write how happy and excited you are about these releases. Show others they arent alone in wanting this. And of course, the bottom line, if you have the expendable money, buy the things you like.

And if someone responds negatively to your comment, just block them and move on. You won't miss them.

I’m so happy over the femstodes and been ignoring most of the weirdness (even after getting messaged by angry fans /:) but I was wondering; Do you think the way GW went about with the retcon was kinda bad? It’s super funny they did a Twitter post saying they were always around but I felt like an actual explanation/showcasing of woman would’ve been nice. Like of battles and saying they went missing or a book on Kesh with details. Though IK GW always sucks at retcons (and codex itself was bad lol)

I think the way they went about it is exactly the same way they've gone about every other lore shift they've ever done. New lore stated as everpresent fact in codex with a short story/sprinkling of new information. Novels and novellas later.

People nitpicking at their methods now as a means of questioning quality are either being disingenuous, or being lemmings.

I don’t think I really need to say it, but this entire fem-Custodes debacle is completely and utterly ridiculous.

Getting upset and worked up over certain people being allowed to exist in your fictional universe is amongst the most unpleasant ways anyone can act, and is a thoroughly repugnant type of behaviour to see in someone.

If you can’t handle women, or societal minorities for that matter, being present in the fiction you consume, then, quite frankly, you can take your bigoted, misogynistic opinion and shove it up your ugly arse, because none of us want to hear it anyway.

You’re the reason this community, and many others, get a bad name, so if you could kindly do us all a favour and come back when you’ve learned how to behave as a mature, grown-up man, rather than as a spoiled, whiny toddler, that’d be great.

For the rest of us, who are capable of intelligent thought and basic human respect, we can enjoy our fiction like adults, while the manchildren and the incels throw temper tantrums in a ditch full of their own shit.
