Happy lesbian visibility week to all my plural lesbians, lesbians in/who are systems, and lesbians with CDDs! (And a special shout-out to all lesbians whose lesbianism is affected or complicated by one or more of the above!)

Hell yeah, factives!!
Hello! This is a simple culture-is blog about being a factive! Submit your experiences, stories, and jokes about what your life is like as a factive right here!
Rules:
Follow the format! Start your submission with "factive culture is", or write as if that's being said before your submission starts.
No fakeclaiming or discourse! You can mention those things in your submissions, but don't bring either here.
(That said, quick discourse disclaimer that we support endogenic and non-disordered systems here! Factives are welcome regardless of their origins! It'd be pretty silly if they weren't, given the origin of the term, lol.)
Keep any mentions of NSFT content light! We don't mind it ourselves, but let's try to keep Tumblr from nuking this blog, shall we?
That's all for now! We'll add more later if we think it's necessary. A quick tag list for navigation is under the cut!
factive culture is: for posts about factive culture submissions and original posts
not factive culture is: pretty much everything else
asks: for asks that don't count as submissions
mod post: for original posts about the blog itself or other important matters
submission: self-explanatory
original: for factive culture is posts we make ourselves

are any systems willing to share how splitting feels for them? we're not sure we understand how to identify it.

Something that I’m trying to come to terms with is that I can’t control everything, especially about my system.
I need to accept that I might not ever know if we’re polyfragmented.
I need to accept that I may never know how many alters we have.
I need to accept that I cannot control switches.
I need to remember that it’s okay if I can’t control everything. And it’s hard sometimes, but I keep trying.

Hello and welcome to factfessions! We've seen that there are a lot of spaces for fictives specifically to come and talk about their source and lives, but comparatively little for factives. So heres to fixing that.
Some information:
-We will not be allowing syscourse or origincourse on this blog, and related asks will be deleted. We are pro-endogenic and partially endogenic ourselves.
-We will be allowing custom tags, but ask you to try and stay away from emojis.
-We allow factives from all sorts of sources.
-We will tag basic triggers (dth, sh, etc) and more as asked.
-We will tag typing quirks and ask if possible to have a translation. If there is not one provided or you are incapable, we'll make one ourselves.
Currently this is run by two mods (in the same system), Mod Elsen and Mod Kris. We will be updating this post if anything changes

Daydreaming about creating stuff specifically as a plural person, about a SI of us as a system, a lil interactive twine where you just talk to some of us, writing down stories of what happens in the headspace and sharing it, writing down our canons and conversations and everything.......just fun things, to connect and show the world.

hi this is our stimboard account, our main sys account is @buttoneyesystem
we will be doing stimboards probably mostly based on some of us, like fictives. we do take requests, anyone can request themselves. just send the ask and we'll look into it
requests are open, request any thing you'd like but know we have the right to deny the request
pro/comship dni
half of these stimboards will be like us doing ourselves as stimboards, but we rlly dont care if like system doubles/irl doubles reblog or anything. we dont mind doubles and will never make anyone censor themselves for something like that, if you cannot handle doubles, i dont suggest you stay
sys stimz is our tag for stimboards weve made
thanks for reading

it's so weird to me how casually some people comment on scars. in my source I had a lot of girls ask me about the scars on my back, specifically asking if they were some kind of tattoo. they're not. they're scars, and they have a very bad memory associated with them. maybe if I don't bring them up to you, don't comment on them? -Caleb

Once again BEGGING for system blogs/system positivity blogs that are for systems with trauma/DID/OSDD/DDNOS WITHOUT being focused on syscourse and how terrible it is to be a system and how disgusting and cringe other people are for X Y or Z

Throwback to when we ran into the word "dissociation" on tumblr as a teen and thought "huh sounds rough, glad i don't deal with that stuff myself"

One thing that is a little strange to me is that in the system + plural communities, the idea of "wanting to be something before realizing you are it" is just kinda... forgotten here. And as a result, people who want to be a system/plural are treated as malicious intruders, instead of just people who might have a subconscious pull towards a community that they already fit.
Like... let's set aside the concept of created systems here. Or endogenic systems as a whole, even. Let's focus only on traumagenic systems. Even with only systems that come from trauma, there have been many accounts of people who "wanted to be a system" without realizing that they already are one, the same way that some people "want to be gay" before realizing they're gay, or "want to be trans" before realizing they're trans. This is not an unknown or rare phenomena; this happens in many different communities, including neurodivergent ones. It's not that strange for people to describe their feelings as a "want to be (x)" before they find out why they feel like they fit or belong in a certain community/under a certain identity. The same way a woman can say, "Man, I wish I were a lesbian, that way I'd be able to be with girls," without realizing the truth, someone can say, "Man, I wish I were a system, that way I'd have others to help me with my life," without realizing the truth.
And I know that at first glance, these sentiments can sound insensitive! It feels like they're pushing aside any struggles that comes with being the thing they want to be. But that's not what they're saying when they say they want to be that thing. Often, all they're saying is that something about (x) resonates with them, so they're looking for reasons why that would be, which ends up expressed as, "Something about this speaks to me, so I guess I must want to be this." I mean, if you feel "strange pull towards A Thing" (*cough* subconscious recognition of the self *cough*) and can't figure out why, wouldn't the first thing you do be to compare this strange pull to "pulls towards Things that I have experienced before" (desire, longing, etc)? And wouldn't you probably conclude that this new pull must be one of the natural pulls you've experienced all your life? It's an easy mistake to make.
Of course, there's more to mistaking this "strange pull" as wanting to be plural than just relying on past knowledge and experiences to come to an incorrect conclusion. Return to the idea that someone knows that (x) resonates with them, but the best way they can describe it is "I must want to be (x)." This in turn becomes them looking for reasons why they'd want to be (x) – because why would they want to be (x) without reason? – and end up focusing on the positives about being (x). These sentiments aren't meant to ignore negatives, they're meant to find an answer to their own questioning, with the logic followed of, "Something about this speaks to me, even though I'm not this thing." → "Maybe I want to be this thing?" → "But why would I want to be this thing?" → "It must be because of (list of positives of being that thing)."
Sometimes, "wanting" to be something is just the first step you need to take before finding and accepting that you are that thing. But if "I feel like I want to be this" is only met with scorn, like it often is in the system community, that first step goes nowhere. There is no self-discovery, there is no learning about the complexities about being that thing, there is nothing except a scolding that you do not belong unless you already know why you feel like you should belong. Which does not leave a good impression on any questioning people, even those who aren't saying these things.
Yeah, these sentiments can be a little insensitive at times. Yeah, these sentiments can be tone-deaf to the realities of being a system. And, no, not everyone who says they want to be a system is actually an undiscovered system who just thinks they're a singlet. But maybe take a chill pill the next time you hear someone say something like, "I wish I were a system," and talk to them about the impression their words give off instead of just telling them that they don't actually want to be a system because it's a "horrible way to live". You might just be talking to an egg who needs a little direction, and even if you're not, a little kindness will probably help more than a quick dismissal.
TLDR: Don't forget that many people "want to be a system" before they realize they are one. Not everyone who "wants to be a system" is intentionally trying to dismiss the hard parts of being a system, nor do they mean any offense.

It took me a little too long to realize that the way that certain groups of alters all live in one place together and don’t really interact outside of a few parts fronting with parts from other groups and Tom checking on everyone is probably some type of subsystem arrangement, huh?
Especially since it’s more than just being in separate places, there’s very little interaction between parts from other groups very by design - like, we’ll have an incredibly hard time interreacting with parts from other groups outside of the “surface” parts, like the ones that seem to exist to be a presentable version of each group or the best at communicating or something.
Like, the only forest spirits that most non-spirits have met are Everest and Rocky, the only vampires that most non-vampires have met are Zayne and Lestat, etc. etc.
The most crossover comes from The Counsel, the big decision makers, and a lot of them don’t truly belong to a group, they just chose a group to live with for one reason or another. And even then, they’re in charge of how we function so it makes sense that they can break the rule, especially Tom.
Not really sure the point to this, just trying to ground myself with some of the stuff that I’ve learned with new splits and spending more time with and getting to no more parts better. I also hope that maybe this can help someone get a clearer picture of their system and how things are working for them if it can.

hello did you all make the term pluralpunk?
No, we did not. All of the terms we’ve made from scratch, based on other terms, or synonyms we’ve made for terms are all listed on our site. This includes all of our non-system terms, such as kin and mogai terms, as well. The most we ever did with Pluralpunk was help the coiner word the definition and reblogged the coining post(s) a few times. Unfortunately, we’re not sure if the coiner is still around on Tumblr and, if they are, we don’t know what they’re current username is. If anyone does know and the coiner is okay with it, please add a note or reblog with the actual coiner of Pluralpunk. Thank you!

Fun fact: ask any DID/OSDD specialist and they will tell you how different system members can experience different things.
Different members can have different allergies, symptoms of disorders that the body has (ie: one alter has tics because of autism but a different one is non-verbal), the brain can work and develop in different ways.
I know several systems with alters that have different dominant hands, synesthesia, different pain levels and tolerances, allergies, etc. This is also all proven by trauma specialists.
You aren’t faking because different alters experience different things. The brain works in weird ways to cope with trauma.
DID and OSDD specialists agree that these disorders can work in different ways. The only similarity amongst systems is that they all formed from trauma.
