Since it’s International Ace day, I’m tossing out once again the invite to my Ineffable AroAces discord server!

It’s a safe place for people in the Aro and/or Ace communities to come hang out and discuss Good Omens or for anyone (aroace or not) who enjoys discussions of GO through an AroAce lens. All are welcome to join!

We divide content up between SFW content, smutty content, dark content, and both dark and smutty content to allow sex-repulsed aces to safely engage in dark content if they wish to do so.

How about a bit of ace representation in Good Omens?

Please note: This text contains a spoiler for season 2 of "Good Omens" Oh dear, I still have a hyperfixation about Good Omens. So, not to shame anyone writing Good Omens Fanfics with angel/demon smut in it - enjoy the hell out of it, if you like (pun intended). But to me, Crowley and Aziraphale are very much somewhere on the ace spectrum. Like, they seem sort of demisexual - I mean, come on, they have known each other for ca. 6000 (!) years and it took them forever to acknowledge they are friends and it took Crowley even longer to understand - after a conversation with Nina and Maggie - that he loves his angel Aziraphale.

In the novel "Good Omens", there is this line about angels: "(...) and angels are sexless, unless they really want to make an effort" (page 194) So they also could be basically agender, if you ask me. Or genderqueer. And not much into sex either.

Also, they clearly enjoy being around each other very much, but they barely ever touch each other. Instead, it's all in the eye contact, the smiles, the friendly banter and bickering. So I guess in their case it's more about the romance and not about sensuality, if you catch my drift. I mean of course, we don't know what a season 3 - or a respective novel or another format for the story, if there won't be a season 3 for the tv show - will bring to the table of their relationship ... well, let's just say, I am looking forward to that so much, however it will turn out.

And meanwhile, I'll just sit here, enjoy a good cup of tea and dream about these two characters being agender and on the ace spectrum. 😇 ☕😈🍷

Obsessed with lovers and piners calling the object of their affections their best friend. Like yessss blur the lines between platonic and romantic love. show how important they are to you in a multifaceted way. Cover up your feelings with another kind of love that is just as true. One type of love does not negate the other and but tragedy can rip both out from under you single handedly, and it will hurt so much more that way. Losing a friend and a lover. Gaining both and not needing any labels for what they are. Using labels but having it be so much more than a title. Were they friends before they were lovers? Maybe it's just the feral ace person who resides within me, but I desperately want Crowley and Aziraphale's first real kiss to be entirely awkward and innocent and honestly kind of chaste

I want Aziraphale, desperate to hold Crowley, words tumbling out of him as he says "You know, the first time in my bookshop didn't count. And I should very much like to try, er... kissing again. Perhaps. If you were amenable?"
