What is Alarm Response by Peak Alarm?

Alarm Response

Several Police Departments in the Salt Lake City area will not respond to residential or business alarms without having the alarm verified.

For a reasonable monthly charge Peak Alarm will send a uniformed guard in a marked Peak Security car to respond to your alarm.

You get up to 4 of these responses per year that is included with the monthly fee and then there is a small charge per alarm response.

This is only offered in the Salt Lake Valley in Utah. We do this because Salt Lake City PD will not respond to alarms unless they are PANIC buttons. (Duress)

We also provide KEY response to specific properties where we put a keybox on your property and our guards show up and check the perimeter like they would for alarm response and they also enter the home or business to check inside.

While checking the outside of the building if they find a broken window or forced door then they will call the police and wait for them.

Key response is also useful if we get a temp alarm and your home has dropped below 40 degrees. Our guard can go in and check the home and verify the condition so you can get the proper repair people scheduled to fix your heating system before the pipes freeze. If this is not taken care of then when the pipe thaw then often you will have flooding.

The reason the police give for the non response is that most of the alarms they have responded to in the past were due to user error and false alarms and they consider it a waste of their time so several departments need to have verified alarms before they will send and officer.

Peak Security’s response is normally faster than the police would respond because the departments that do respond prioritize the calls and it may be over an hour before an officer could respond. Most of the time in the valley a Peak Security car can arrive within 15-30 min.

Having camera systems on your home and business is also a prudent measure that can be used in conjunction with your security system.

Elite Control allows you to connect remotely to your security system using your smart phone through a cellular communicator.

ALARM.COM

The Alarm.com app allows you to see alarms, troubles, add and delete codes and arm and disarm your alarm system remotely using your phone.

Qolsys panels send signals to the central station using both cellular and WIFI although it will not function with just WIFI but it will function with just the cellular unit.

VIRTUAL KEYPAD BY DMP

The Virtual Keypad app allows you to do the same things from the DMP app.

Elite Control is available when we install a cellular unit on your alarm panel so the elite control charge in billing includes the cellular charge which includes the ability to arm and disarm.

In circumstances where there is no cellular signal DMP panels can connect to the Internet and you can connect to the system through the Internet although we do not like to depend on the Internet as the sole source.

You can always arm and disarm using your keypad in your home or business. Elite Control is included whether you use it or not when we install the cellular unit on your system.

There are some older alarm systems that cannot support Elite Control so we would need to upgrade the system to a current DMP panel or a Qolsys panel so you can use elite control.

Another option on those systems is to install a cellular unit that can send signals but does not have the ability to connect remotely using your phone.

On commercial fire alarm systems we have to use a special cellular unit that sends several signals a day to meet fire code and this is Advanced Cellular or Cell Advanced or other companies may call it High Supervision Cellular. This allows you to get rid of the two required analog phone lines and use a cellular unit.

If you want to automate your home a bit, but you don't want any "smart" tech, you can just buy remote controlled power sockets instead

They are a lot cheaper and easier to set up and use than some home automation smart tech nonsense

They don't need an app (but some models come with optional apps and there are apps that are compatible with most of these)

Many of them use the 433mhz frequency to communicate, which makes most models compatible with each other, even if they are from different manufacturers

The tech has been around for a long time and will be around for a long time to come

You don't have to put any fucking corporate listening devices like an amazon echo in your home

Models for outdoors exist as well
