Remember to thank your professors for their online courses (and maybe give a little feedback) when you hand in your final papers if they weren't complete assholes because a) being nice may pay off a little when they correct your work, b) if they answer you have definitive proof that they have received paper and c) a lot of them are old people who are a bit afraid of the internet so it is good to hear it's apprechiated :)

Sometimes I wonder where I got my absentminded personality from - and then there's my grandfather. He's an old fellow who has seen much in his life. Fled during the war and lived in the GDR until the German Reunion, and my grandparents live in that same house today still (at least 40 years by now).

My grandfather, my dad (his son-in-law) and I were standing in my grandpa's garage the other day.

Grandpa: * opens random drawer while talking * "Oh look, carbine rifle ammo!"

Dad: "What, how did you even get that?"

Grandpa: "To be honest, I don't remember. Maybe from my time in the army? Yeah, probably there. Anyways, do you need a drill? I still got this somewhere..." * opens closet and pulls out a gigantic drill *

Dad: "Umm, no, I got one at home already, but thank you."

Grandpa: "Don't worry, this one doesn't work anyways, I only still have it for show. You sure?"

And at that point we all just burst into laughter. Not the best story, I know, but I think I'll remember it a long time.

Never change, grandpa. I love you. <3
