Ruth apparently went exploring in the mine, found treasure, Edward read about Draugen in a book, it's a man thing without a face, visit u in your dreams, and if u wake you're lucky, but someone near u will die.

Everyone is gone, a man was found, he hung himself.

Twin brothers were very angry, and now the church bells are ringing. And I'm running to it"

The Spes et Fides

This model shows the first Steam Whaler, the Spes et Fides (affectionately known as Spissa) was commissioned by the Norwegian inventor of the harpoon gun Svend Foyn (1809-1894), built in 1863 and commissioned in 1864. She had a round stern and her hull was green with a yellow band. Rigged as a schooner, the sail was only used in favourable winds, but never for whaling. The power of the steam engine could take the boat up to 7 knots of speed, and was also used to power the equipment to handle the carcasses.

Her first voyage took place in the spring and summer of 1864, and the catch amounted to three whales. However, the second voyage did not take place until 1866 and was unfortunately unsuccessful, as was the third voyage in 1867, when only one whale was caught. The first really successful voyage took place in 1868, when Svend Foyn, after replacing some of his equipment with better ones (including his harpoongun), caught 30 whales. From then on she was a successful whaler.

On 23 November 1904, the ship was sold to B. C. Skancke of Mehavn, Norway, who kept the name but did not use the ship as a whaler. In January 1912, the ship was taken over by Andreas Widero from Aalesund, but was sold on to Th. Bergh, Narvik, on 27 November of the same year. After that, the ship lay in a damaged condition in a shipyard in Tromso. Her new owners sent the ship to the Oren Mekaniske Verksted for repair and rebuilding.

Spes et Fides Wreck (x)

On 4 January 1913, the ship began service under the new name Evanaes, carrying fresh herring. Her last voyage was on 18 December 1917 from the Storfjord with a cargo of fresh herring to Melbo in Norway. The ship took to the water in bad weather and adverse winds. About seven miles from Tisnes, near Tromso, the engine stopped and the ship sank while the crew of seven climbed into the lifeboat. Eventually they reached the coast.
