Damon watched with lingering amusement as the stowaway walked away from the bar, spine straight as she ducked beneath the curtain that separated the main bar from the strip club section of the Arc. Once she disappeared beneath the tattered cloth, Calderon’s shoulders tensed more than he thought was possible. The girl was driving their dear Captain insane and Damon didn’t think it was only because of her attitude.
Like a shadow, he took the empty seat beside Calderon, motioning the bartender for a refill. Tense silence settled between them so thick that Damon was positive he could cut it with a knife. Glancing out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that the Captain ignored him, that perpetual grimace on his face.
“Looks like Red gave you a piece of her mind. Gotta say, surprised the girl has that much spirit.”
Cal glanced at him sharply, the beer in his hand hovering a few inches from his lips. “What did you call her? You know what, I don’t want to know.” With a sigh, he set the drink down, rubbing a hand down his face. “What do you want, Reznor?”
Damon tried to ignore the jab, a flash of irritation disturbing his otherwise jovial mood. “I want to know why you’re letting Her Majesty get you all riled up. I thought you wanted her gone.”
Calderon pinched the bridge of his nose, his distress only fueling Damon’s need to get under his skin. “Ayame… convinced me to keep her aboard.”
Damon snorted, burying his face in his glass when Cal shot him a glare. Oh this was just too easy. “So you like her?”
“I don’t like you but I still keep you on the ship.”
“You pay me.” Damon reminded him, his mind already building the next part of the plan. If Aya was willing to fight for the girl… “Besides, you’d be bored if I wasn’t around.”
“Bored? With Aya and Bash? I think you’re drunk.” Calderon scoffed before taking a sip of his drink, looking briefly disgusted by the taste. “The girl can stay as long as she’s useful.”
Damon’s lips curled, a predatory grin he couldn’t hide. “Oh, I’m sure you have many uses for her.”
The muscles in Cal’s jaw flexed, his hand curling dangerously around the bottle. “If you don’t get away from me-”
“Fine.” Damon said, putting his hands up in surrender, as if he ever would give up teasing Calderon. It was too much fun. “I know when I’m not wanted.”
Calderon rolled his eyes, ignoring him when Damon took his drink and headed to the exact place where Daianira had disappeared a few minutes before. With a glance at the Captain, noting that he was still moping at the bar, Damon ducked beneath the curtain, ready to carry out part two of his devious plan.
The strip club portion of the Arc was already rowdy, a crowd growing near the tiny illustrious pilot as she swung around a pole. June was standing off to the side, frowning as he watched the men surrounding Aya, ready to step in like the guardian he was. Too bad for him, Damon didn’t intend on leaving them at a mere rowdy.
Fiery and stunning Daianira stood next to June, watching the scene with her arms crossed over her chest. He noticed how her eyes swept over the occupants of the club, gaze not on the lovely show in front of her, but scanning for threats. There was something about her, something that said she’d lived in darkness before and knew how to find it.
If Calderon wasn’t so clearly flustered by her, Damon would’ve been tempted to see how that darkness tasted.
Taking a sip of his drink, he approached quietly, not that the two of them would be able to hear him coming with all of the catcalls and shouts aimed at Aya. Or the blaring music from the speakers. Or the fact that Daianira’s turquoise eyes were making daggers at anyonne who got too close to the stage.
Sidling up to the stowaway’s side, Damon nodded to where Aya was spinning around the pole, one side of his mouth curling into a grin. “Looks like fun.”
Daianira raised an eyebrow, giving him a look that screamed that she was considering committing him to an asylum. “Then why don’t you get up there? If it looks so fun.”
He leaned against the wall, crossing his arms casually, his smile only widening. “Why? Did you want me to?”
Daianira rolled her eyes, turning to June in a feeble attempt to ignore him. She really didn’t think it was going to be that easy, did she? He moved behind them, threw an arm around her shoulders and leaned in, blowing a raspberry against her cheek.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“It’ll piss the Captain off.” He muttered, noting the weird look June threw in their direction. Oh if June only knew what he was thinking in his twisted head. “What better reason to do it?”
That caught her attention. He knew it when her mouth twitched, her eerily vivid blue eyes widening, that he’d hooked her. Now all he had to do was close the deal, sweeten it enough that she would gladly throw herself up there even if it would embarrass her because the temptation of getting on Calderon’s nerves was too great.
“I may not remember more than my name at the moment, but I’m positive I don’t know how to dance… like that.”
Damon squeezed her tight against his side, ignoring the tension in her shoulders. She was too uptight, too much like Calderon. This would benefit her just as much as it did him. “Aya is a great teacher. Let her help you. At the very least, have some fun. You do know how to do that, right?”
She rolled her eyes, taking the challenge and stepping up to the side of the stage. Damon couldn’t hear whatever it was to she said to Ayame, but he recognized the gleeful look in the pilot’s violet eyes. She was teasing her and the stowaway had no idea how to react. At least he wasn’t the only one enjoying this.
Daianira climbed onto the stage with a bit of help from Aya before the two of them began discussing the finer points of pole dancing. Damon didn’t care how it was done, as long as it was done right. Because if his little stowaway caught on quick enough, there would be one hell of a roaring crowd to greet the Captain when he eventually stumbled in.
“Let me show you.” Ayame wrapped her hands around the pole, waiting for Daianira to study the grip. “Just hold on like this.”
Daianira tightened her hands around the pole and Ayame frowned. She reached forward to adjust the fingers, trying to pry them from the metal.
“No, that’s too tight. Relax, will you?” Aya’s eyes widened in concern, squeezing Daianira’s shoulders gently. “You’re as fucking tense as Calderon.”
Damon saw as the stowaway chewed on her bottom lip, frowning. She was still tense, but there was a fire in her gaze, a look of annoyance at being compared to the Captain. He smiled, filing the look away for further inspection later. At least, he can find a way to use this later, when one of them irritated him. Ayame gave her a few more pointers on how to swing without falling off of the stage before stepping away, leaving plenty of room for her to attempt it. Daianira swung around the pole slowly, her hand getting stuck a few times. She paused briefly, cursing under her breath, wiping her palms on her pants.
Damon leaned on the stage below them, smirking up at the amnesiac woman when she noticed him standing there. “Nervous, Princess?”
“Damon, leave her alone.” June said from behind him.
Damon chose to ignore his advice. Where was the fun in that?
“Maybe you should get Calderon up there, Aya. It might be what he needs to loosen the stick up his ass.”
Aya snorted, flashing him a grin before going back to teaching Daianira the secrets of pole dancing. Somehow, she managed to get her around the pole without stopping for a few spins.
“You’re a quick learner.”
Only a few more turns before Daianira managed it on her own, Ayame’s assistance no longer needed. As she spun around the pole, he caught a glimpse of a real grin on her pretty face, cheeks flushed with exhilaration, her rose gold hair flying in all directions. Ayame joined her a moment later, the two of them taking turns around the metal pole, getting the crowd riled up at the sight of the two beautiful Kitalphans.
Damon caught a glimpse of June’s face out of the corner of his eye. The cowboy’s cheeks were flushed red, those perceptive eyes wide as he watched Aya and her new partner in crime twirling like a couple of circus freaks.
He snorted, waiting for the crowd’s noise to draw the rest of the crewmates. Bash appeared first, curiously ducking beneath the curtain only to pause just past the threshold, blinking dumbly at the sight in front of him. He recovered quickly, putting his hands in the pockets of his pants and approaching where Damon and June stood.
“What prompted this?” He asked, managing to tear his eyes away long enough to look at them.
June sighed, running a hand down his face. He almost felt bad for torturing the cowboy, but sometimes sacrifices had to be made for the greater good. “Damon happened.”
Damon’s lips turned up. “You can thank me later.”
Bash rolled his eyes at the same time June groaned in mortification. Damon figured the cowboy was going to have a bad time with what he knew was coming. Because Calderon would hear the ruckus and come investigate, he wouldn’t be able to help himself. And that’s when the fun would begin.
“Where’s Ry?” He asked Bash, grin widening as Daianira took another turn around the pole, having the time of her life by the looks of it. “She’s missing quite the show.”
“The noise was too much for her. She stepped outside for a bit.” Bash chuckled as the crowd started to cheer loudly, Ayame and Daianira both getting into the groove of dancing together. “I think we’re in trouble with these two on board.”
“I hope so. Need to liven the ship up a bit. Especially with Calderon’s moodiness lately.” The subject of his conversation entered the strip club as if the mention of his name had pulled him in. Damon motioned towards the Captain. “Speak of the devil…”
“And the devil appears.” Bash agreed, shaking his head at the setup. “I hope you know what you’re doing.”
“You can’t seriously be asking me that. Because we both know I like to live dangerously.” Damon watched as Calderon’s eyes immediately went to where the girls were, sapphire going to slits, jaw clenching and shoulders stiff as he stomped closer, intent on stopping the show. If he was a cartoon character, Damon imagined there would be smoke coming out of his ears.
Once they were in earshot, Calderon waved angrily at the scene, turning on Damon immediately. “What the fuck is this?”
Damon raised an eyebrow, trying to be unaffected by his friend’s seething rage, but his mouth twitched with a smile. “The girls wanted to burn off some steam. I can’t deny there are worst ways to spend my time.” Nudging the Captain in the arm with an elbow, his smile only widened. “I know you agree with me, Cal.”
“I told you to stop calling me that.” Calderon’s sharp gaze was on Daianira as she spun, laugh echoing over the din. His cheeks almost looked pink but in the dark club, it was impossible to tell. Damon swore he was blushing. “She’s going to break her neck.”
“And it’s such a pretty neck. Isn’t it, Captain?”
Bash snorted behind him, but covered his mouth with his bionic hand, eyes moving anywhere but at Calderon who shot him a sharp look. June, on the other hand, had purposely moved away from the three of them, conveniently placing himself out of range of Calderon’s hands. Not that the Captain had even glanced his way.
“Maybe it’s your neck you should be thinking about, Reznor.” Calderon grumbled under his breath, rubbing the back of his neck with a hand. “Get her down. We’re leaving. Now.”
“You’re no fun.” Damon pouted, hands in his pockets as he leaned against the wall behind him. “If anyone needs to relax-”
Calderon’s murderous expression cut him off before he made a mistake. Damon shrugged in an attempt to let it go, knowing that there was only so far he could push the Captain before someone got hurt, but he knew that dark look in his eyes. There was something about the girl that put him on edge. And he would find out what it was.
“Get Daianira down. We don’t know who she is. If someone recognizes her-”
“Worried about her?” Damon teased, enjoying the way Calderon’s nose scrunched in disgust. Oh yes, there was definitely something there.
“I’m worried about us. Now do it.”
Calderon shoved past a couple standing off to the side, not even bothering to apologize. Damon shook his head, eyes flashing towards Bash who still stood beside him.
“He’s got it bad.” The bionic said with a deep laugh, gaze settling on the girls still having the time of their lives on stage. “How long do you give it before he explodes?”
Damon snorted, the bet already made before he opened his mouth. “Not even a week. The stowaway likes to piss him off. He won’t be able to hold back.”
Bash only responded with a full bellied laugh, knowing there was no way Damon was going to lose a bet when he could just fix the win. Which, seeing as if benefited everyone if Calderon got laid, he figured the odds were in his favor.

Esterine Peg'asi's Life
A timeline I put together for Ester. I tried to stay as in the canon lines as possible.
Infancy (0-2)
Ester Peg’asi was born at the beginning of March to the Stellar Queen Ta’jean and King Fenris as half-human, half-tilaari. He was the youngest of eleven children.
He was mostly cared for by the maids and was said to be a quiet, sleepy baby.
At the age of one year, Ester could smoothly communicate by pointing and gesticulating.
At the age of two years, he was fully potty trained and began to “disappear,” as the maids put it, to other parts of the castle.
When he would stay put in his nursery, he spent most of the time sitting in a corner and staring fixedly out the window.
Early Childhood (3-5)
Ester was determined to break away from the maids around this age, craving independence. He was incredibly silent, to the point where people mistook him for mute, and had already developed a glare to put people off of talking to him.
Ester learned to read between the ages of three and four when his cheery tutor, whom he found very patronizing, didn’t seem to be doing enough, according to him. This resulted in Ester sneaking his tutor’s colorful kid’s books into his bed to sound out by himself. After a while, Ester grew bored of the same short, sugary-sweet stories.
Soon, he was leaving his nursery to spend hours devouring books in the large, spiraling library the palace held, giving surly looks to the librarian who was offering to show him to the children’s section until she went away.
Ester showed the ability to reason logically at quite an early age and seemed to have a good understanding of what was going on around him. He enjoyed people watching, preferring to listen than to speak himself.
At the age of five, Ester succeeded in getting away from the maids' watchful eyes and was given a bedroom on one side of the palace. No more maids asked him if he would like a bedtime story or a snack or attempted to follow him around, and he most definitely didn’t need his wetnurse anymore.
Childhood (6-9)
Around this age, Ester started to realize how everyone around him seemed to pretend a lot. They especially pretended to like people they hated and befriended others who could help them gain something with sweet wording. He came to the conclusion that it would be in his best interest to become more friendly, so he started practicing by having conversations with himself. To the palace staff’s amazement, he became a polite and respectable little boy. On the outside, anyway.
Ester still didn’t socialize unless he absolutely had to and continued quenching his thirst for learning. He excelled effortlessly in his tutored lessons, and during one of the mandatory cognitive exams he took, which he received high scores for, it was concluded that he had an eidetic memory.
But aside from reading and schooling, Ester had other ways of satisfying his curiosity. He spent a lot of time roaming the palace; he wasn’t considered an important part of the Peg’asi family, so he went relatively unnoticed when he did this. Soon, he began discovering the palace’s secrets. First, a rusted key that unlocked a secret passage behind a portrait in a dead-end hallway. The passage forked: one path led to a secluded area outside the palace, while the other offered a peephole into the throne room. Then, in an abandoned study, a hatch beneath the carpet led to the sewers, providing access to a bustling street via a mapped route through the sewage system. On and on it went, and Ester could remember every single secret perfectly, down to the amount of dust on the floor or how many scratchy lines on a wooden railing.
Tweens (10-13)
As he got older, Ester started craving something more than the hundreds of books he had read. He wanted to go to a proper school rather than the lessons on etiquette, dance, and calligraphy taught by the palace tutors and influenced by the nobles. For the first time in his life, Ester went to ask his parents for something.
Ester was dismissed almost immediately, but he didn’t give up. He stubbornly sent email after email, bombarding his parents with carefully calculated reasons why he should be allowed to attend an outside school. When his emails were blocked, he used drones to hover handwritten letters into their room and slipped accepted school applications under their breakfast trays. His eldest sister, Nerissa, lectured him about what he was doing many times, worried about what their parents might do to him if he kept this up, but he stayed determined.
Maybe just to shut Ester up, King Fenris finally agreed to let Ester attend his school of choice despite Queen Ta’jean’s apprehension. Smug, Ester entered a virtual day and night school with a variety of subjects conducted by people his parents didn’t have easy influence over. It wasn’t the most prestigious or the wealthiest, but it offered the most knowledge. He made sure it was virtual because he really didn’t see the point in putting up with adolescent drama and long commutes when he could learn from his bedroom. Besides, it was best not to shove how much he was thriving in his parent's faces in case they decided to take it away.
His desk, while already messy with notes and books, became even messier with stacks of study guides and textbooks. He was in his element. Ester studied an array of unfiltered history, political science, physics, dead and modern languages, new and ancient literature, the art of philosophy, a plethora of fields in mathematics, and even some military education.
This was the period in Ester’s life when his night owl and recluse tendencies flourished. Usually, people choose a schooling plan that either takes place during the day or during the night. Ester chose both.
Teens (14-17)
Ester began being expected to attend rare events such as odd weddings or funerals and maybe a gala here and there. For most of his life, Ester avoided people and was expected to avoid them, but now he would be forced to talk to the stuffy nobles, plaster a smile on his face to uphold the reputation of the Peg’asi family, and blah blah blah. He realized it was more than hatred of socialization he had; he also had anxiety.
Ester was good at hiding his anxiety, and he maintained his polite demeanor when asked to converse with others. He was a bit stiff, but it satisfied his parents enough, who never really paid attention to him anyway.
Although Ester’s existence may have been revealed to the nobles, he remained an enigma to everyone else. Long story short, his newfound allowance to attend a few affairs did not give him much opportunity to interact with his people.
Ester continued to be distant with his siblings but it wasn’t really his fault. His siblings were either indifferent to him or utter bullies, so he wasn’t exactly encouraged to speak to them. Nerissa was an exception, however, and Ester slightly admired how she would stand up to their father’s corrupt ways.
At the age of seventeen, Ester met Vexx Serif, a guard assigned to protect him. At first, Ester was a bit annoyed at Vexx's presence outside his bedroom door and escorting him everywhere. But slowly, they became close friends, Ester trusting him enough to share the secrets he had learned about the palace over the years.
Present (22)
The main story begins.

QSMP AU - Project A6-DOMINATION - Prologue
Katran’s P.O.V.
It started as a day like any other, he wakes up, eat breakfast, start on doing some experiments, his examiners asks about how he’s feeling, does some exercise, eat lunch, does some more experiments, goes back to his room, study a lot on the small shelf with books on his room, takes a bath, eat dinner and sleeps. Repeat.
It’s a mundane thing. He knows it. And he pretty much got used to this situation, although, deep down in his heart, he doesn’t agree with it, but doesn’t show it in his face. He doesn’t let his emotions be known, that’s what they want, after all.
Although… there’s a part of his day that makes him feel at little bit better. When he gets out of his room, sometimes he sees a wavy blonde haired guy with cyan tips with light green eyes, beige skin, wolf tail and ears and a curly black haired guy with black eyes, beige skin and clipped black wings interacting each other. He doesn’t understand a single thing they say, but he likes to just watch them, their joy and happiness being freely shown to one another, a thing he hasn’t been able to show.
He likes to observe especially the blonde guy, his smile and laugh captivated him the first time he saw it, wanting to know why he laughed and how he can do it. But the more times he observed him, the more he felt something for the blonde, something he can’t explain what it is.
Whatever. He shouldn’t be thinking these things now, otherwise, THEY might discover it and reprimand him. He looked to the roof, already in bed, preparing to sleep.
Sometimes, he has strange dreams he can’t explain what they are or where they come from. Sometimes he dreams of playing with a girl, she looked to be older than him, and at the end of the dream, he could only see everything burning, like a movie roll being burned.
His eyes are getting heavy, and the last thing he hears before falling asleep is the sound of something really heavy falling and people screaming.
Kauan’s P.O.V.
It was another amazing day for him, he got up, ate breakfast, made some experiments, answered questions of the staff, went to the library of the facility, ate lunch, made some more experiments, painted a picture, talked with staff, ate dinner, went back to his room, took a bath and is now laying on bed.
The staff taking care of him is amazing, they are so kind to him and are always happy to see him, and he’s the same to them… although he doesn’t like the evil man who comes once in a while to check on him. He’s the only one who treats him badly for being too emotional and not wanting to do test he judges being too dangerous. He doesn’t know what he’s doing wrong, every other staff treats him like a friend, at least a friend he sees in the books he reads in library.
One person he considers being a friend is Zach. He learned his name, although with a bit of difficulty, their languages being similar but also different. Zach is a man with black hair, black eyes and clipped black wings, he asked Zach one time why his wings are clipped, but the black haired man said he didn’t know why. He finds it odd, after all, aren’t birds supposed to fly? He would find it enchanting to see a bird, there isn’t any pets on the facility, except if you count the guard dog.
Kauan always likes to read the library books, but he does it hidden, he doesn’t think that the staff knows he’s reading the books from the library, but if they know, he thinks they ignore it. It’s not that it’s anything inapropriate for him, but he thinks they wouldn’t approve having thoughts like these, after all, they strive for conformation, and he thinks they wouldn’t approve if Kauan’s ideas were against their ideals.
Reading these books is one of the favorite parts of his day. He reads about fairytales, horror books, mythology stories, sci-fi, everything you can think of! Even didatic books! But his favorites are romance and slice-of-life books. He likes to imagine how life would be outside of the facility he’s in, and how nice would be to have someone else at his side.
...There was one day he was talking to Zach and he noticed someone walking by past him, he saw a man with red eyes and yellow pupils, straight white hair like the snow in the graphic novel books, black triangle-shaped animal ears that are on each side of his head instead of being above his head, pale skin and black marks that covers his skin from one eye to another and a small black mark on his nose, besides the two white and black tails behind him.
When he first saw him, his heart fluttered for a second, and he kept staring where the white haired man went. He was almost pretty sure he was looking at him too. Zach made fun of him because he was blushing and he had to hold so much back to not punch him. Since that day, he couldn’t stop thinking about that man and how he would like to see him again and perhaps talk a bit with him. He didn’t even know there were other people in the facility besides him, Zach and the staff.
The day he met Zach was a bit strange. He never told the people taking care of him about that, because it was implied he couldn’t talk to anyone else besides them and the staff working there.
He was going to his usual place on the library and he bumped into Zach who was speeding through the corridor. Turns out he was late for his experiments, and if he didn’t hurry up, they would punish him. He didn’t even know they punish you if you get late to the experiments. And since he was already late for it, Zach said it didn’t matter anymore and spent some time with Kauan until he went to eat lunch. Since that they, they met at the library after they did their experiments and talked for a few minutes before they went their separate ways.
Kauan is grateful for Zach. Really. He thinks he would’ve gone insane if he didn’t have an actual friend like him, even though he’s a little bit chaotic for a place like this. The staff are his friends too, but Zach is a person who he can share his secrets without having the fear of being reprimanded by the staff or getting hurt by the evil man.
He’s reading a book about nature, and his eyes are getting heavy while he’s reading it. The last thing he hears before sleeping with the book laying on his chest is something really heavy falling and screams.
Zach’s P.O.V.
His day already started going wrong. He woke up late, didn’t ate enough food on breakfast, his examiners only scolded him during his experiments, someone stole his lunch, his afternoon experiments were shit – everything in his body was hurting, the craft room was closed, dinner tasted horrible, his shower was too hot when he went back to his room and couldn’t fix it and his bed broke. Just perfect, although the staff said they were going to replace his bed the next morning.
Although one thing made his day not be so horrible, and it’s his meeting with Kauan, the blonde wavy haired guy with cyan tips, green eyes and wolf ears and tail. Kauan has his right eye blinded, but that doesn’t stop him from being the most agile person he has ever seen and a man with good eye for details in his paintings too.
Kauan is a person so easy to tease. One time he caught Kauan blushing at a guy with white hair, black triangle-shaped animal ears on the side of his head, red eyes with yellow pupils, two tails and marks on his face passing by and he teased him about that so much that the blonde looked like he wanted to punch him so much but couldn’t in fear of being reprimanded by staff.
His fascination with the blonde never stops, and he appreciates that. It makes his life more tolerable with how the staff treats him. Kauan’s imagination about what’s like on the world outside of the facility never ceases to amaze him, although he half understand the things he say, and leaves him thinking about that too sometimes.
He started questioning things they have been as soon as he met Kauan. He never knew there was someone else like him on the facility as well. And there were other things he was questioning too, like why can’t they leave; if he met Kauan here, there are others like them too; why they are doing experiments to them; and most importantly: why his wings are clipped.
He never thought about that before Kauan asked that. It’s just that, once you begin living with it, you don’t question it and get used to it before someone pointing out what’s wrong about the situation.
After that, he began dreaming he was a kid, with his wing not clipped, and he was flying through the bright blue sky and the clouds that Kauan tells in his stories on the books he reads. Although, he always lived at the facility, even when he was a kid, that’s why he doesn’t understand he’s dreaming that.
Anyways, tomorrow is another day without mistakes, and hopefully the evil guy won’t appear to punish him for his behavior of the past few days. He closes his eyes and the last thing he hears before falling asleep is of something really heavy falling, a faint roar in the distance and screams.
Zammy’s P.O.V.
His day started like most, he woke up, ate breakfast, did some experiments, went to the library to read sci-fi and other things, ate lunch, did more experiments, slept for the rest of the afternoon, ate dinner, went back to his room, took a bath and wrote some puns he thought about while reading the books on the library.
You could say it looked like a normal day, nothing wrong with that, but he knows whats going on. The staff thinks he doesn’t because he pretends to be dumb and not knowing anything, but he knows there are more people being tested at this facility and there’s someone keeping them there. Not letting them leave and see the outside world. Everyday he eavesdropped on the staff conversations and learned about some interesting stuff that could may or not help him escape from there.
There is this guy, WA02, the people with him called him that, he wears a blue helmet and a blue vest and he has really white skin, like paper, and paws, he writes all the reports the staff gives him. Sometimes they talk in a language he can’t understand, so some of the information he gets is pretty useless if he can’t undestand, but he tries his best to understand. Today they informed they would be doing more intense tests on a girl called Lua.
The name sounds familiar to him, it feels like he heard it in some unknown past. He thinks it would make sense he would have probably heard it before, after all, he’s been dreaming these past few months of a boy called Jason. The name sounded familiar to him too, but in a different way, like it was one of the most important things he couldn’t ever forget of.
He can only hope they don’t hurt too much this girl, because they have also done these intense tests on him too, and it hurt so much.
He looked at a mirror on the other side of his bed, he saw his messy slightly wavy dark cyan hair with orange tips and bear ears and his lazy orange eyes. He had eye bags under his eyes. Most days he stays up until late, but today it felt like he was supposed to sleep earlier than usual.
Welp, a bear like him needs his rest. He closed his eyes and the last thing he hears before falling asleep was something really heavy falling, a roar in the distance, people screaming and distant gunshot sounds.
Violety’s P.O.V.
It started like any other bullcrap day. She woke up, ate breakfast, did some experiments, gave feedback to her examiners, went to the music room, ate lunch, did some more experiments, trained a sport with the staff’s permission, went back to her room, took a bath and started humming a song to sleep.
It was so frustrating, her best-friend Lua told her they were going to do some intense experimentations on her during the night and there was nothing she could do to stop it from happening. Violety had one of these tests before and she couldn’t move properly the day after because of the tests. And it was because she broke one of the rules that bear told her.
Lua wasn’t by all means a saint, but she didn’t deserve one of these tests either. Lua was a girl with curly purple hair, cat ears, black eyes, olive skin, a moon with stars mark on her cheek, covered by a band-aid, and a demon tail. The girl revealed to her that she also has black wings, but doesn’t show them because it’s difficult to summon them.
Violety met her on her way to the music room. Initially, Lua was a shy girl, and she was hidden inside the music room because she didn’t wanted the staff to find her. She told Violety that she was their favorite do to experiments on, and that she was tired of having to do them every single day. Violety stayed with her as long as she needed before going to get lunch.
That day was when they were about 7 years old. Now they are both 17, Lua having her birthday earlier than her, and to this day they have meetings on the music room. Violety even taught Lua how to play guitar, and she met Lua’s true self; a mischievous little half demon half cat who has quite some choice words and is someone really understanding, calm and quite the magic dreamer. She can’t understand Lua in the language she talks, but they created their own language to try to understand what the other is saying.
Violety can only hope she will see her friend well on the next day. As she falls asleep, while her humming is slowly stopping, the last thing she hears before falling asleep was of something breaking in the distance, something really heavy falling, a roar, people screaming, gunshot sounds and fast footsteps on the distance.
Clara Victory's P.O.V.
Her day was perfect. She woke up, ate breakfast, did some experiments, gave detailed answers about how she’s feeling to the staff, went to the sewing room and made some scarfs to give to staff as a gift, ate lunch, did some more experiments, went back to her room, studied the rules that were given to her, ate dinner, took a bath and is tucked comfortably in bed.
It was a perfect day like any else. No need to complain about anything, there was no reason for her wanting to leave this facility, her life was perfect, after all.
Although… if she wanted to complain about something, it would be about her white clipped wings. She would like if they stopped plucking her feathers from her wing, it hurts so much and she can’t cry or complain about it, about the blood that drips from the place the feathers were plucked, the agonizing pain it came with it and the shame that came with it that she couldn’t get away from it or stop it from happening. Otherwise, they would punish her hard, and then she wouldn’t be following the rules that were given to her. After all, she needs to be conformed with it.
She pushed away these thoughts. She shouldn’t be thinking about things like that, after all, everything in there was perfect, you just need to put a smile on your face and do everything they want that your day will be perfect.
She looked at the mirror besides her bed. Her straight blonde hair with white tips was falling down behind her, her light blue eyes stared back at her, she saw her cat ears on her head, her clipped wings tucked gently behind her and subtly her tail hidden on her side. Her skin was a bit more paler than usual, perhaps because of the blood loss, but that was necessary to have a perfect life.
She closed her eyes and started falling asleep pretty quickly. The last thing she hears before falling asleep was something loudly breaking, something really heavy falling, a loud roar, people screaming, gunshot sounds, and people running past her door.
Lua's P.O.V.
Her day started like usual. She woke up, ate breakfast, did some experiments, went to the music room, ate lunch, had the afternoon to do what she wanted, so she went to the library and studied about mythology, magic and rituals, went back to her room, did some light exercises, ate dinner and was called to do some unique night experiments, something she never did before.
She had a bad feeling from it since the start. When she told Violety, her best-friend, that they were planning to do some intense experimentations on her that night, she could see her friend’s beige skin lose its color.
Violety is a pretty girl, she has straight cyan hair with brown tips, has blue eyes and a wolf tail and wolf ears. She met Violety while hiding on the music room from the staff. She was the first nice person she met on life, and it meant so much for her.
Lua never went a day without bandages on her arms or legs, not even in her oldest memories from when she was 6 years old. She wasn’t dumb as the staff told her she was or naive, although she used to be when she was younger.
She knows something is going on behind the scenes, but doesn’t know what, and she can’t even eavesdrop on their conversations because they feel she’s there. It’s unfair, really. Perhaps it’s because of her partially demon self? She doesn’t know.
She was guided to her experiment room and began to do her tests.
It. Hurt. Like. Hell.
Now she understood why Violety looked so pale and shocked when she told her that. It was way more painful than the usual tests they do to her, it feels like they are trying to extract her soul from her body, to make her wish she wasn’t even thought to exist by someone.
All she could do was to scream, cry, and persevere through this situation.
She was beginning to hallucinate through her pain. She was seeing a boy younger than her standing in front of her, reaching out to her in tears, while he couldn’t do nothing to help her. She feels like she knows this kid from some place, but she can’t remember where.
Then, the boy disappears and a voice begins to roam her mind. It wasn’t her voice, or from anyone else in the room. It was a voice from a man she feels like she heard it before. It told her to get revenge for what they were doing to her, to get her freedom, to make them pay, to kill them.
Kill them. Kill them. Kill them. Kill them.
The last thing she remembers before losing consciousness was she broke the chains keeping her from leaving, knocked down a big machine besides her and felt herself changing, physically and in personality, and a big roar that she made.

Fanbinding: The Pen is Mightier by shamelesscooper
Tumblr media
Mobei-Jun realizes with increasing clarity that he wants to serve Shang Qinghua. Shang Qinghua does NOT pick up on it.
Another meet-up bind, as a gift to @rhipidurafan! "The Pen is Mightier" is a Scum Villian moshang fanfic that reverses some of the power dynamics. I got some help from a friend since I'm less well read for this particular ship, but I found the fic very cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I decided to test fate a bit on this bind by rounding and backing an A6-sized book that was only 190-ish pages, whoops. But success favored me!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also gave my first go at polished graphite edges, which I think turned out very well! This book has the graphite on a three sides, including the rounded fore edge. Endpapers are from Renato Crepaldi, which I also used to do the marbled paper inlay on the pen for the cover. (This was also my first time doing an inlay with this particular method, rather than doing a full cutout).

Tumblr media
Thank you anon <33 glad you like my art uou <3 and about uploading images, you mean on tumblr? idk i didn't really put extra effort to make image looks clean? hmm but i remember tumblr tends to shrink images when it's too long, so if your image is too long (e.g. webtoon) try cropping them to make the length not go more than double the width.. maybe that will help. another reason may be that your image size is too small? my canvas size is usually a6, so if it's art, try to draw on bigger canvas size. hope this helps <3
Tumblr media
Hi I'm good thank you <3 I do not allow using my fanart as a fanfic cover. I do not want my art being used anything else than pfp on tumblr/twitter. Thank you so much for asking <3 I wanted to answer this privately, but i can't find the button to answer private now, so i apologize for answering it publicly 😔😔

AU T7S Where Kelso Doesn't Exist on the Show
This turned into an outline/first-draft hybrid of a fanfic I would call One Difference: Michael Kelso Doesn't Exist.
Quite a few twists. Lots of Zen. Plenty for the other characters, too.
Season 1
Jackie joins the basement gang because of Fez. Jackie enjoys his flattery and attention, but she hasn't promised him anything romantic or sexual. She also keeps her time in Eric's basement secret, acting like she doesn't know Fez, Donna, Eric, or Hyde while in school.
Hyde influences Eric to be more delinquent than he otherwise would be. Without Kelso as his partner in crime, Eric fills that role.
Eric gets into more trouble with both his parents because of his shenanigans with Hyde. Donna also finds Eric slightly hotter for his rebelliousness. In canon season seven, she tells Eric she thinks it's hot when he does naughty stuff.
Unfortunately for Eric, his parents don't agree. He doesn't get the Vista Cruiser, as he does in "That '70s Pilot" (1x01). They tell him that unless and until he acts responsible enough to have a car, he's not getting one from them.
Red's opinion about Hyde is also different. Instead of seeing Hyde as a good kid who rough around the edges, he thinks Hyde's a danger to his son and tells Eric Hyde's no longer allowed in the house. He also tells Eric to let Hyde find another dumbass to get into trouble with.
Jackie wants to go to the junior prom so badly that she accepts Fez's invitation. Problem is that she's finding herself attracted to Hyde in spite of herself. Before Red banned him from the basement, regardless of how annoyed he is by Jackie, she's drawn to him.
Hyde is the only one who fights the guy (and his friends) who punched Eric unconscious in "Grandma's Dead" (1x23). Without Kelso there, Fez tries to help but is tossed aside and passes out.
Hyde gets more than a fat lip from that bar fight. He's bruised all over. He's allowed to go to Grandma Forman's funeral to support Eric (because of Kitty).
When Red sees Hyde, he assumes the worst about why Hyde's bruised and swollen. Eric tells Red what Hyde did for him, and that significantly changes Red's mind about Hyde.
Fez is confused as to why Jackie runs hot and cold with him. Hyde and Eric both answer that she's a nutbag and he should look for a girlfriend elsewhere. Donna, though, defends Jackie. They're friends now, and Jackie's helped Donna transition her friendship with Eric into a romance.
Fez decides to fight even harder for Jackie's love, and Hyde and Eric groan.
After Edna abandons Hyde, Red (without knowing yet what happened) lets Hyde join his for dinner three nights in one week. During these dinners, Red starts to understand that Hyde is a good boy who's rough around the edges. Kitty, who always liked Hyde, is grateful for how he stood up for her son.
Once Red and Kitty learn that Hyde's mom abandoned him, he allows Hyde to live with them on probationary status. Hyde has to cut out the nonsense and stop cutting classes.
Hyde excels at following Red's conditions, so much so that Eric becomes jealous. With Hyde no longer doing senseless stupid stunts, Eric decides to do a stunt of his own. He's got way more experience in it since Hyde essentially trained him in the art for eleven years.
Eric, who's earned the Vista Cruiser a third through the season, decides to take his mom's keys to the Toyota and find out how fast and far it can go on one tank of gas. Donna, Hyde, and Fez try to convince him not to.
Jackie is present for this moment, and she encourages Eric to go with his plan. This pisses off Donna and Hyde, but Fez finds it hot (despite not wanting Eric to do it).
Hyde tells Eric if he's gonna do something so stupid, Hyde better go with him.
Eric ends up swerving to avoid another car, but the Toyota's bumper falls off and the left taillight is busted. A good measure of paint has been scraped off.
When Red discovers what happened to his car, Hyde takes responsibility for it. Eric objects and says it's his fault. They fight over it, and Red fights internally with himself whether to blame Hyde and kick him out.
But, unlike Donna and Fez who have run off, Jackie steps in and says it was Eric's idea and that Hyde tried to stop him. She's a witness. She knows Hyde will be homeless if Hyde doesn't let Eric take responsibility, and then she'll lose access to him.
Red is relieved and disappointed. He makes Eric and Hyde work to pay off the car repairs. Rather than being upset by this punishment, Hyde feels more like part of the family.
Season 2
Fez tricks Jackie into a kiss during the movies. Once she realizes what he's doing, she stops him. With no Kelso to slug Fez, Jackie runs out of the theater.
Jackie tells Donna what happened and admits she liked the kiss. She's considering dating Fez in secret.Donna has two problems with this idea: one, Fez tricked her into a kiss, which doesn't set a good precedent for the start of a relationship; and two, Jackie shouldn't date Fez in secret. If Jackie has romantic feelings for him, she should be proud to date him and not let xenophobia -- or fear of others' xenophobia -- dictate how she lives her life.
Jackie says in this conversation that she's never had a boyfriend before and she's getting long in the tooth. It's time for her to start dating already. Fez is a terrible choice. "He worships me. He's great dancer, but ..."
Donna says, "He's foreign."
Jackie says, "No. I mean yes, but you're right that I shouldn't treat him like a dirty little secret. The problem is ... I love kissing, and Fez is good at it, but I'm not sure Fez is the one I want to kiss."
Donna, shocked and intrigued, says, "Is there someone else you want to kiss?"
Jackie becomes cagey, an obvious tell, and Donna calls her out on it: "There is someone you want to kiss! Who is it? Do I know him?"
Jackie, very uncomfortable, escapes the question by escaping the conversation (and Donna).
In the circle with Eric, Hyde, and Fez, Donna does her best to keep her mouth shut about Jackie. But Fez brings up how he kissed Jackie at the movies and that Jackie ran away afterward.
Eric and Hyde rag on Fez (and Jackie): "Why Jackie? I mean ... why Jackie?" "You found the Holy Grail, man -- the secret to gettin' Jackie to disappear."
Donna, unhappy about their burns, says, "Jackie liked the kiss, you jackasses -- " which makes Fez brighten -- "but she wants someone else to kiss her that way."
Fez, Hyde, and Eric: "Who?"
Donna: "I don't know. She wouldn't tell me."
Eric: "Oh, God -- that must mean it's one of us!"
Hyde: "Donna's hot. Wouldn't blame her."
Eric: "Not Donna. Us! You and me!"
Hyde: "No way, Forman. You make her sick, and she makes me sick. She wouldn't go after her best friend's boyfriend anyway."
Donna, Eric, and Fez: "How do you know that?"
Hyde: "Uh ... "
Donna (teasing, singing): "Hyde and Jackie sitting in ... in ... have you two ever sat in anything together?"
Fez (sad): "Only the remains of my heart."
Hyde: "Look, last winter at her ski cabin, she whined to me about wanting this guy Jake Bradley -- "
Eric: "The Jake Bradley? The Vikings quarterback?"
Hyde: "Yeah. But he's dating Kat Peterson, so that's never gonna happen."
Donna (remembering): "Right! And you tried to 'comfort' her by saying Jake wouldn't cheat on Kat with Pam Macy either, so Jackie's in good company.
Hyde (chuckling to himself): "That was a pretty good burn."
Donna: "You were a total jerk that weekend -- and not just to her."
Hyde: "Yup. I was. [Sincerely to Donna] Sorry, man. For all of it. No excuses. Just a reason: head was screwed up from my ma. Wouldn't want anyone to do to me what I did to you, and I'm glad we're still cool though I don't deserve it."
Donna's about to accept his apology, but Eric says, "What did you do to her?"
Fez (morose): "What I did to Jackie."
Eric (pissed and confused, to Hyde): "You kissed her in a movie theater in Alpine Valley?"
Donna and Hyde: "The ski cabin."
Hyde: "And she slapped me good. Too bad it didn't knock sense into my skull."
After this circle, Eric is uneasy about Hyde.
Laurie, bored, finds a sad Fez moping around the Forman driveway. She gets him to open up about Jackie's latest but as-yet unspoken romantic rejection of him. Laurie sees an opportunity to amuse herself.
Laurie: "You're a virgin, right?"
Fez: "Yes -- no! I have done it with many women. Like a stallion."
Laurie: "Mm-hmm. Care to prove it?"
Fez glances around. "Where?"
Laurie holds up the keys to her parents' Toyota and nods her head toward the car.
"B-b-but we could get caught!" Fez says.
"It'll be more fun that way," Laurie says and pulls Fez to the car.
A little later, Hyde goes to the driveway. The garage door is open. The Toyota is rocking. At first Hyde thinks the Formans are having sex, and he back away. Then Laurie screams, "Fez!" in passion (and in an attempt to get caught).
Hyde is more repulsed by the idea of Fez and Laurie screwing than the Formans and flees to The Hub.
At The Hub, Jackie is eating at a table alone. Hyde brings his tray of fries, a hot dog, and a soda to her table.
Jackie (suspicious and intrigued): "What do you want?"
Hyde: "You don't have to worry about Fez anymore."
Jackie: "Huh?"
Hyde: "Look, we all know he's been after you for months, but someone caught him in her web today. He's probably gonna stay there willingly, even if the spider sucks out his insides ... leavin' him a dried husk."
Jackie (annoyed): What are you talking about, Hyde?"
Hyde: "Spotted Laurie and Fez doing the backseat bossa nova."
Jackie: "Is that some kind of dance?"
Hyde (smirking): "Some kind. Doesn't require clothes. [To himself] Hope he's wearin' a condom."
Jackie (understanding): "HE'S HAVING SEX WITH LAURIE?"
Hyde winces at her shout. "You should be happy, man. Now that she's got Fez on his back, he'll get off yours."
Jackie: "I -- well -- who's gonna ... "
Hyde: "What?"
Jackie: "You'll just burn me if I tell you."
Hyde: "Likely. [Gently] You can still tell me."
Jackie: "It's just that ... I don't get a lot of attention at home, okay? And I have no boyfriend to lavish me with the adoration I totally deserve, so now that Fez'll be all over Laurie, I'm gonna be alone."
Hyde: "Not alone. Lonely."
Jackie: "What's the difference?"
Hyde: "Trust me; there's a difference."
Jackie stares at Hyde a moment. Then she says, "I do. I do trust you."
Hyde, realizing he made a big mistake, says, "I'm gonna take the rest of my lunch to-go." He stands up with his tray of food and leaves The Hub while Frank (the manager and cashier) yells at him about it. Hyde says, "I'll bring it back!" and hurries away outside.
Fez, exhilarated and a little scared by what happened between himself and Laurie, looks for someone to confide in. He wants someone who will react helpfully, so Eric's out. Hyde's at The Hub with Jackie, so Fez can't find him. Next door, however, is Donna.
Nervously, Fez relates to Donna that he just lost his virginity to Laurie. Donna's first reaction is disgust and shock, but she recovers and asks if he's okay. "And please tell me you used a condom."
Fez: "I don't know if I'm okay -- but yes, Pépé wore a coat. Laurie said I was all right, which is a synonym for *okay,* but did she really mean it? And the first-first time lasted five seconds. The second first time was eight minutes and -- "
Donna: "Spare me the second-by-second breakdown. Please. I want to know how you feel -- emotionally. Because, y'know, it's Laurie! And how did this even happen?"
Fez (laughing): "Oh, you silly virgins and you're silly questions. Sex-education in this country is very lacking. You see, women have -- "
Donna: "I know how sex works! I mean how did you and Laurie ... *why* did you and Laurie?"
Fez: "Oh. She was bored. I was heartbroken over Jackie, and now Fez is no longer a virgin. But what if Laurie just used me to burn Eric? Or if she'll never have sex with me again? Or if that will be my *only* time having sex? Because I liked it ... about four minutes into the second first time."
Donna wishes Hyde were the one Fez was talking to. She's very uncomfortable. She's also worried about how this situation will affect Fez and Eric. She says, "Laurie is always up to something. Whatever you do, even if it's having sex with her again, don't trust her. And don't mistake sex for love. They're totally not the same thing. And I think you should tell Eric right away. Like now."
Fez: "Wow. This is a lot to think about."
Donna: "I just don't want you or Eric to get hurt."
Donna supports Fez by being present in the basement when Fez tells Eric about Laurie. Eric has a negative reaction, and Donna tries to calm him down. Hyde enters the basement amid this bit of chaos.
Hyde: "So Forman knows Fez and Laurie did it, huh?"
Fez, Donna and Eric: "How do you know about that?"
Hyde: "I was there, man. In the driveway. Saw the Formans' Toyota rattling around. Once I spotted the cause, I was outta there."
Eric, hoping to find an ally, says to Hyde, "So what now? Laurie's not hanging out with us just 'cause she and Fez committed that abominable act."
Hyde (to Fez): "Whatever you do, whoever you do, is your business, man. Just don't make it ours, all right?"
Donna: "I already warned him not to fall in love with her."
Fez grows annoyed at his friends' controlling, unsupportive attitudes. He decides that if Laurie's interested in him, he'll have fun with her as long as it lasts.
Throughout the rest of the season, Fez and Laurie's strange relationship continues. Jackie's disgusted and thankful she'd realized she doesn't have romantic feelings for him early. Red is oblivious, but eagle-eyed Kitty recognizes that Laurie is "playing" with Fez (please excuse the unavoidable double entendre).
Kitty sits Laurie down and has a serious talk with her. Kitty knows Laurie is in no way faithful to Fez and doesn't want her to break Fez's heart. Laurie tries to reassure Kitty, albeit dismissively, that the heart isn't the organ Fez is concerned about.
Dissatisfied, Kitty goes to Red. Big mistake. Red puts the onus on Fez and tries to scare him off Laurie. Fez tells Laurie about this development, which makes her want Fez more.
Jackie tries to befriend Hyde, much to his annoyance. She likes how real he is, especially compared to the guys who are part of her social circle at school. She finds in his personality and demeanor aspects she feels she lacks within herself and is attracted (platonically) by that.
Hyde shows no interest in reciprocating any friendship until he witnesses at school a nasty encounter Jackie has with a very competitive cheer squad teammate, Julie. Julie is gunning for cheer captain for the varsity team next year. She sees Jackie as a threat and uses Jackie's lack of boyfriend as a way to spread rumors about her.
Hyde teaches Jackie his version of Zen so she can protect herself. He also introduces her to the circle in between lessons. Unfortunately, being Zen goes only so far when Jackie Burkhart is a lesbian (remember, 1970s) and other untrue statements about her are written on blackboards and whispered by students whenever Jackie walks into a classroom or a school hallway.
To mitigate these rumors, Jackie starts dating Chip. Hyde is wary of this development and keeps an eye on it.
Before Jackie and Chip's third date, at school Hyde questions Chip -- whom Hyde knows is a year older than Jackie and has bragged about previous sexual "conquests". Chip says what he and Jackie have is quid quo pro. Chip goes on a few dates with her, tolerates the yapping, and on the last date he gets to nail her.
Hyde: "Is tonight gonna be the last date?"
Chip: "Hell yeah. She's a bitch."
Pow!
Hyde lays out Chip with one punch. It's witnessed by a lot of students, including Jackie. Jackie wants to know what happened. Hyde manages to get out, "He said bitch. Last date. Nail you -- "
Unlike the Jackie of T7S Prime, this one is a virgin at this time on the show. She's sexually inexperienced, and she pieces together what Chip intended and why Hyde punched him.
Unfortunately, the school principal arrives. As he hauls Hyde to his office, Jackie shouts that she loves Hyde. Many students witness this moment, too.
The principal suspends Hyde from school for the rest of the year, which only has two weeks left, but it means he can't take his finals. He'll have to attend summer school and anger management classes.
Eric and Donna's stories in season 2 are relatively unaffected by Kelso's absence except as described above.
Season 3
Jackie happy-brags to Donna about what went down and why Hyde has to go to summer school. Donna thinks what Hyde did is noble but that Jackie needs to tell her dad about it since the principal doesn't know.
Jackie thinks Donna's idea is great. She does tell her father, who uses his influence to get Hyde out of anger management and a commendation on his transcript for community spirit-- despite the principal condemning the use of violence to solve issues. Chip is expelled because of Jack's influence (and fury that someone thought to hurt his daughter in such a way).
Hyde remains suspended for one week but is allowed to return to school to take his finals.
Jackie is flustered that Hyde doesn't thank her for her intervention on his behalf. He protected her, and she protected him, so -- to her mind -- they should be really close now.
When Jackie confronts Hyde about his lack of gratitude, he tells her he never would've had to punch the guy (Chip) if Jackie didn't give into social pressure. Although this statement is victim-blaming, Jackie does think hard about how toxic her social circle is and tells Hyde he's right. She'll choose her friends better. In fact, he'll be seeing a lot more of her from now on.
Hyde complains to Eric and Donna about this latest situation. Donna's pissed at Hyde for blaming Jackie for Chip nearly taking advantage of her.
Eric, meanwhile, is still focused on Fez and Laurie's relationship and says he bets Laurie took advantage of Laurie, but no one was around to punch her before she could get to him -- not that a man should punch a lady. But if Donna had been there ...
Donna slaps Eric's shoulder and tells him to pay attention to the matter at hand.
Hyde takes to heart Donna's point about victim-blaming Jackie and wants to make it right. He apologizes to Jackie, in his own way. He says, "I get feelin' pressured, and sometimes it puts us in situations we don't know are dangerous. Chip is a sneaky bastard, and you're not used to sneaky bastards. I am, but you couldn't have seen what he had planned for ya. Even if you could -- "
Jackie: "You're rambling, Steven."
Hyde: "I don't ... yeah, okay, I do. I am. Anyway, I'm sorry for acting like a dillhole after I punched Chip. I kinda punched you, too, with my words."
Jackie: "Yeah, you did. It really hurt ... and not only because I really like you."
Hyde: "You shouldn't -- like me, I mean. I'm no good. But under your abrasive, bossy exterior is someone I can stand to be around."
Jackie (touched): "Aw! Does this mean we're friends?"
Hyde: "I knocked a guy's teeth in 'cause he called you a bitch and planned to do a lot worse, and you had your dad bail me out of goin' to summer school and more. People who hate each other generally don't do things like that, so ... "
Jackie (excitedly, hugging Hyde): "We're friends! Hey, why don't we go to the Sizzler for dinner and celebrate?"
Hyde (uncomfortable): "I'm not sure we -- "
Jackie: "I'll pay."
Hyde (now agreeable): "You've had a rough couple of weeks. Let's go, kid."
Jackie and Hyde's arc in season three is their growing friendship that they manage to conceal from everyone but Mrs. Forman. She keeps it mostly to herself but talks to Red about it. Red approves because of his experience with her in "Career Day" (1x18).
Fez and Laurie's relationship ends when Fez discovers that Laurie's cheating on him. His friends say they all warned him but still display various levels of sympathy.
Donna says, "Why did you like her so much anyway? She was mean to you most of the time."
Fez: *She had sex with me, Donna. Regularly! How could I not love a woman like that?"
Hyde: "Dude, you didn't love her."
Fez: "I loved that she had sex with me. Regularly! And sometimes strangely, which I also enjoyed very much."
To help Fez get over Laurie, Hyde takes Fez "cruising for chicks". It cheers Fez up a little, but he's relatively down the rest of the season.
Eric never gets the idea of getting Donna a promise ring because Kelso doesn't exist to give it to him. Still, Ric and Donna's relationship goes downhill because of h increasing independence and his increasing insecurity.
At the end of the season, Eric has an important conversation with Donna. He says, "When do you think we'll get married? Before college or after college?"
Donna (laughing, thinking he's joking): "Why not tomorrow? We could drive to Vegas, and an Elvis impersonator can officiate."
Eric: "I'm serious. Donna, I can't imagine my life without you."
Donna (stunned): "Are you, like, proposing?"
Eric: "Hypothetically if I were, what would you say?"
Donna: "I'd say, 'We're seventeen and have no idea where our lives will take us.'"
Eric: "But wherever they take us, you see us together ... don't you?"
This question leads to the rest of their breakup scene in "Promise Ring" -- minus the actual ring.
Season 4
Eric's depression proceeds as it does on the show. For the first half of the season, he dates random girls. Donna doesn't date.
The heartbroken Eric and Fez set up the get-Hyde-a-girlfriend party. Jackie invites Rhonda -- not because Jackie's insecure about not being the prettiest girl at the party but doesn't want to find Hyde a potential girlfriend. Fez and Rhonda hit it off.
With no Kelso and no vanity-driven insecurity, Jackie stays at the party and watches Hyde closely but sneakily. She's relieved when he doesn't seem seriously interested in any of the girls.
After a short absence, Hyde returns to the party with Melissa. Jackie recognizes how disrespectful and manipulatively Melissa treats Hyde. Once Melissa leaves, Jackie pulls Hyde aside.
Jackie: "Melissa's really pretty."
Hyde (still dazed by his attraction to Melissa): "Uh-huh ... "
Jackie: "She's also everything you hate about me."
Hyde: "What?"
Jackie: "You clearly didn't pay attention to how she acted. She was bossy, mean, and -- and -- what's that word you taught me, when you described how your mom used to give you the silent treatment whenever you pissed her off by blinking too loud?"
Hyde: "Withholding."
Jackie: "That's it! She's emotionally withholding, and she's gonna use that as a weapon against you if you date her. I can see it already."
Hyde (annoyed): "Jackie, I spent an hour with her. You can't tell all that."
Jackie: "You had one conversation with Chip, and you knew exactly what he had planned for me."
Hyde: "Because he told me!"
Jackie: "And Melissa told me. I might not have your sexual experience or whatever, but I'm an expert in manipulation. ... Just think about what happened between you two tonight before you call her, okay?"
Hyde (mostly because he wants to end the conversation): "... Okay."
But Hyde does as Jackie asks. He flashes back to how his mom treated his dad (Bud) and eventually himself. Melissa did seem to resent him already, and he'd end up resenting her. She might be a great girl -- but not for him. She clearly doesn't think he's enough for her as he is now. Not a great way to start a relationship.
At The Hub a few days later, Donna tells Hyde that Melissa told her he never called. Donna asks why.
Hyde: "You called me whipped after she left the party. That was enough."
Donna: "Oh, come on, Hyde. I was teasing. Melissa's really cool. You're cool. I don't think you should miss out on each other."
Hyde: "And I don't think you and Forman should've broken up. You obviously miss each other, but what can I do about it?"
Hyde hit the target he was aiming for. Donna, emotional and pissed, leaves The Hub.
Jackie arrives at The Hub and passes Donna, who says, "Hyde's being a jackass today. I wouldn't sit with him."
Jackie does sit with Hyde, however, and she gets him to spill about not calling Melissa and his interaction with Donna.
"Thanks, by the way, for lookin' out for me," he says.
Jackie: "That's what friends do even when it might piss their friend off like you did Donna."
Hyde: "She'll get over it. Don't know how she and Forman'll get over each other, though."
"Tornado Prom" (4x15) happens a few episodes earlier in this AU. Jackie really wants to win Snow Queen, but she laments to Hyde that she has no date. Hyde shrugs. Jackie says, "You could take me."
Hyde: "I could, but I won't. Plan on partying in the principal's office."
Jackie: "You can still do that. But if you're my date, the teacher-chaperones won't be as watchful of you."
Hyde: "Huh. ... All right. I owe you for Melissa -- and I hate owing anyone -- but no dancing."
Jackie: "Five dances, and you wear a tuxedo."
Hyde: "No dances, and I wear a shirt and pants."
Jackie: "Steven!"
Hyde: "Whatever. One dance."
Jackie: "Four and a tux. I'll rent it."
Hyde: "Two dances, and I wear the suit Bud left me after he -- well, left me the first time."
Jackie: "That mustard thing? Ew! ... Three dances, a nice suit jacket, pants, dress shirt, and tie I'll buy you, and I distract any teachers who might be eyeing you."
Hyde: "Deal."
During his dances with Jackie at Snow Prom, Hyde begins to realize his romantic, aesthetic, and sexual attraction to Jackie. It scares him. After their third dance, he definitely wants to have his circle in the principal's office. Jackie joins him with Fez and Rhonda.
Jackie falls asleep. Hyde draws a unibrow on her forehead. She wins Snow Queen, and Jake Bradley wins Snow King. Jackie is elated but can't understand why everyone in the gym is laughing at her. Then she sees her face in a mirror and knows Hyde is the culprit.
Jackie is furious, but instead of letting humiliation get the best of her, she goes Zen. Everyone is impressed, including Hyde -- and he knows now he's in big trouble.
After "Tornado Prom," Eric realizes he'll never get over Donna if he doesn't actually try. Without Jackie setting Donna up with Casey Kelso, Eric's able to focus on his own date life. He asks out Shelly ("Eric's Panties" [3x06], who is happy to go out with him.
Donna's emotional spiraling begins again. She doesn't want to date anyone, but she's afraid Eric and Shelly might actually have a chance at a relationship (unlike his previous dates).
Jackie (to Donna): "Oh, my God, you still love him!"
Donna: "Of course I do, but that doesn't mean I can be with him. He tried to control my life."
Jackie: "No, he confessed his undying commitment to you, and you rejected it."
Donna: "Because the second I carved out a little piece of my life just for myself, he freaked!"
Jackie: "Someone who loves you as much as Eric does would be willing to work through that."
Donna: "How do you know? You've never even had a boyfriend."
Jackie: "No, but I understand love and that it takes compromises and work ... and trust."
Donna: "Then I guess I don't trust Eric to work on compromising with me."
Jackie: "He compromised with you all the time!"
Donna: "I compromised with him. Until I was sick of him refusing to respect me enough to do the same."
Jackie: "Have you ever told him that?"
Donna: "I told him to trust me."
Jackie: "That's not the same thing."
Donna: "It should've been enough."
Jackie: "Obviously, it wasn't."
Donna: "Well, that's not my problem."
Jackie (mockingly): "'That's not my problem.'" [She pinches Donna's arm, and Donna cries out in pain and anger.] "Who's problem is it, then? Eric's, someone who Shelly or another girl might give a chance to let him learn from his mistakes and be happy? Or the person so stubborn she'll end up alone and miserable because she's in love with someone who needs more time to understand what he's doing wrong?"
Donna can't absorb Jackie's insight all at once, but the seed is planted.
Jackie's parents find out that Hyde took Jackie to Snow Prom. They think she's dating him, despite her protestations to the contrary: "We're just friends! He'll tell you the same thing!"
Jackie's parents want her to stop hanging out in the Formans' basement. She can go to Donna's house, but if she keeps going to the Formans', her father will cut her off financially.
Jackie has more than Hyde to lose. Despite that Donna doesn't go to the basement as often, especially now that Eric's dating Shelly, Jackie will miss all her friends there.
In the basement, Jackie announces her conundrum without saying that Hyde's the reason for it. She says her dad wants her to spend more of her spare time with her "real" friends from the cheer squad and in her own grade. She's decided, though, to get a job because she knows everyone here will miss her too much.
Eric, Donna, Fez, Rhonda, and Hyde's reactions are unenthusiastic. But in private, Hyde asks Jackie what the actual deal is.
Jackie, to her surprise, admits the truth. Hyde laughs and says, "That's ridiculous. Your folks are ... "
Jackie: "Ridiculous! I know! You'd never like me that way."
Hyde: "Right. Never. And you wouldn't date a poor, lowerclass burnout dirtbag."
Jackie: "Exactly! Not that you're a dirtbag ... or poor in the non-money sense. You're richer in every other way that counts compared to the sons of my parents' upperclass friends."
Hyde (sensing the awkwardness between them): "So you're getting a job, huh?"
Jackie: "I'm going to the mall. Maybe Halverson's is look for someone pretty to model its clothes."
Jackie ends up at the Cheese Palace, hired to hand out cheese samples to potential patrons. She has to take the bus to the mall and back because her dad took away her keys to the Lincoln.
Hyde feels partially responsible for Jackie's situation, so he drives her home from work when his own work schedule allows.
Eric catches Todd "the Cheese Guy" kissing Jackie (Todd had tricked her when she was down about her parents' lack of trust in her and low opinion of Hyde).
Jackie doesn't want Eric telling anyone because she's humiliated that her second real kiss was due to being tricked by another boy. Moved by compassion, Eric keeps her secret.
Except that Jackie feels like she cheated on Hyde in some way.
By the end of the season, Fez doesn't get terrible advice from Casey Kelso, and his relationship with Rhonda is intact.
Donna has grown completely depressed. She refuses to try to break up Eric and Shelly by telling Eric she loves him. She had her chance to work through the toughest part of her relationship with Eric, and they both blew it. She needs to get away for the summer, and she heads to the bus station -- and California -- to stay with her mom.
What Donna doesn't know is that Eric has broken up with Shelly. He's still in love with Donna, and he can accept living in the now with her and leave the future unwritten.
Jackie tells Hyde about what happened with Todd. Hyde says she doesn't need to confess to him. He's no priest.
Jackie: "I do. I feel terrible about it, Steven. He tricked me!"
Hyde (growing protective): "What do you mean by tricked?"
Jackie: "He offered to give !e a sympathetic hug because of my parents, you know? But he turned his face, and his lips pushed against mine, and we were kissing. I was so confused, but I kissed him back! Just like I was confused when Fez tricked me at the movies and kissed me -- and I kissed him back."
Jackie (tearing up): "My teammates are right about me: I'm a naive loser. God, I've never been kissed by a boy I've chosen to kiss. Who I've wanted to kiss. And -- and if you hadn't looked out for me another boy, Chip, might've done a lot worse."
Hyde (consoling): "Hey ... hey, that sucks. But it's not your fault, all right? I didn't get to choose most things about my life, either, but I got to choose my friends. Like you."
Jackie feels a little better, but her first tear falls.
Hyde: "Listen, any guy you choose to kiss someday will be lucky."
Jackie: "Any guy?"
Hyde: "Well, someone who wants to kiss you back."
Jackie: "Would you want to?"
Hyde (flushing a little): "If you kissed me ... it would be cool."
Jackie: "That can mean anything!"
Hyde: "I wouldn't hate it. ... Hell, I'd probably like it."
Jackie places her hand on Hyde's cheek. She kisses him gently. He responds gently -- at first -- then they're making out with each other heavily. Fade to black.
Eric goes to the Pinciottis' house to tell Donna about his breakup and what he's learned about trusting the moment. Unfortunately, Donna's not there. Bob and Joanne don't know where she is. They let Eric wait for her in her room. He waits a long time.
Season 5
Jackie and Hyde's romantic relationship develops over the summer. They keep it a secret because Eric is sad and mopey about Donna. They also want the relationship to be just theirs while in its beginning stages, without their friends' opinions.
Hyde gets Eric the plane ticket (using Eric's Candy Land stash) to go to Donna in California. Hyde and Fez cover for his absence.
Eric and Donna reconcile in California. Without Casey being an issue, and Eric explaining that he dumped Shelly and never had sex with her because he never stopped loving Donna, they actually deal with what broke them up.
When Fez and Rhonda catch Hyde and Jackie in the basement post-kissing -- unlike Fez -- Rhonda recognizes what they walked in on. Hyde decides to act Zen about it. Jackie follows his lead.
Rhonda: "That doesn't work on me. I know love when I see it."
Hyde (laughing nervously): "Love? I don't love, man. I tolerate."
Jackie: "No, no, no. I tolerate. You're so overwhelmed by my beauty that I tolerate making out with you."
Fez (to Rhonda): What are they doing?
Rhonda: "Acting like two in love dorks. Want to see if Mrs. Forman has any peach cobbler left over?"
Fez: "I suppose I could tolerate that."
With Rhonda and Fez gone, Jackie says, "Steven, are we dorks?"
Hyde: "Nope."
Jackie: "Are we ... in love?"
Hyde: "How's about we quit talking and get back to what we were doin'?"
Jackie and Hyde continue to make out but wonder about Jackie's question.
Donna and Eric return from California.
Without Kelso, Jackie and Hyde's arc consists of figuring out just how they feel about each other, supporting each other through life issues (e.g., Jackie's dad going to prison) and not always getting it right the first or second time.
Eric and Donna don't get engaged this season. They're too busy finding the balance between their fears, individual desires, and how all that affects their relationship.
During the senior prank, Eric, Fez, and Hyde are present. Eric tried to get artistic and paint a tribute to Donna. He miscalculated his reach and fell off the water tower. Hyde leaves Fez to check on Eric. Fez is arrested.
Jackie is afraid to admit to Hyde she loves him. Hyde is afraid he's unlovable, but Kitty reassures him and says, "Maybe Jackie has to hear it first."
Hyde: "And if she laughs in my face?"
Kitty: "Steven, you've loved that girl for years. You can deny it all you like, but a mother knows. And if you've chosen someone worthy of your love, which I believe you have, you'll hear the right thing."
Jackie, meanwhile, has gone to Red -- who doesn't want to get involved but does. Jackie says, "When did you first tell Mrs. Forman you love her?"
Red: "Between when I fought in World War II and the Korean War."
Jackie, despite knowing Hyde would never join the military and dislikes conflict of any kind, decides she'll have to take drastic action.
Jackie finds Hyde in the Formans' basement. She says she's declaring war on him.
Hyde, confused since he and Jackie haven't had any serious fights in a while, says, "Before you do that -- whatever that means -- I've got somethin' to tell you."
Jackie wants to speak first, but she's learned that she has a tiny window when Hyde is open and vulnerable enough to say important things to her. She doesn't want him to shut down, so she gestures her assent.
Hyde: "I love you. ... Okay, go declare war."
Jackie, taken a back says, "I -- I ... I admit defeat. I love you, too!"
Hyde (unsure): "You what?"
Jackie: "Mr. Forman went through one war and was about to fight in another when he told Mrs. Forman he loves her. So I thought if I declared war by telling you I love you that either we'd both win or both lose. I just needed a definitive answer."
Hyde (laughing): "You are one freaky, freaky chick. Glad we both won. Medical care for vets in this country, 'specially mental care, sucks. Have you seen that guy on Sherman? He -- "
Jackie quiets him with a kiss. "Another time, Steven. This war is over."
Hyde kisses her back.
Rhonda marries Fez so he can stay in the country. Red doesn't have a heart attack.
Eric, inspired by Fez and Rhonda, proposes to Donna at the end of the season. We don't get her answer.
Season 6
Kitty is devastated that Eric and Hyde are leaving for college. Eric says, "It's in Kenosha. We'll be less than forty-five minutes away."
As in The Middle, we get the characters' college experiences, but they're in Point Place for the majority of episodes.
We learn that Donna said yes to Eric's proposal by seeing the engagement ring on her finger. Their arcs revolve around keeping their engagement secret, accidentally revealing it, and their parents' reactions on top of dealing with college life and sharing a house with Hyde, Fez, and Rhonda off-campus.
With Donna out of the house, Bob spends his fatherly attention on Jackie. It's helpful and annoying, and then her mom returns to town. The conflict this arrival creates is handled more seriously than it is on the show with Kelso.
Hyde struggles in college. He's smart but not academically inclined. His temperament is much better suited to an apprenticeship, learning a craft by doing the craft. He's scared.
During one weekend, Hyde learns Hyde bought Wilson & Son's Muffler Shop. He asks Red if he can work there on the weekends. Red hears the uncertainty in Hyde's voice and gets the truth out of him.
Hyde says he doesn't want to disappoint him or Mrs. Forman after all they've done for him.
Red says part of being an adult is making one's own path. Red will hire Hyde full-time if that's what Hyde wants. Hyde agrees.
Hyde then has to go through the process of telling everyone else. Mrs. Forman is worried but trusts Red to teach Hyde well -- and is happy he'll be moving back into the house.
Jackie is shocked, but she ultimately supports Hyde in his decision. She's also happy he'll be next door instead of forty minutes away.
Eric, Donna, and Fez are not happy, especially Eric. He's afraid Hyde will end up like one of his cousins. But Donna says Red owns a muffler and car repair business, not a gas station. If Hyde's happier, then he needs to make this change for himself.
Once Red and Kitty learn of Donna's engagement, they try to stop it. Shenanigans enue for a few episodes until Eric and Donna finally get the chance to tell them that the marriage won't take place until after college, which they're in.
Rhonda learns she's pregnant at the end of the season.
Hyde receives a letter in the mail from someone who claims to be his sister.
Season 7
Part of Hyde's arc is learning about his biological father and that side of the family. He's been working for Red for eight months, but W.B. works in music, and that's Hyde's true calling. Red lets Hyde go from the muffler shop.
Fez and Rhonda deal with Rhonda's pregnancy while going to college.
Donna gets the opportunity to study abroad in Paris for her junior year. Eric wants to go with her, and he applies for the same opportunity. Odds are against him, but he studies hard, inadvertently distancing himself from Donna she doesn't know why.
Near the end of the season, Eric learns he's accepted. Donna finally understands and wishes he'd told her. He didn't because he didn't want to get either of their hopes up.
Jackie is accepted togoing to NYU in New York City. She's torn because Hyde manages Grooves in Point Place. W.B., though, just happens to be expanding his business into the Northeast. Hyde will run the giant, new flagship store with Angie's help.
Rhonda has the baby. It's a girl, ten pounds, eight ounces. Fez is a proud papa.
Red and Kitty face the fact they'll truly be empty nesters. "Until Eric's senior year," Red says, "when he and Donna will be back in Wisconsin."
The show ends with the Vista Cruiser driving away. We see the license plate, and Hyde shouts (unseen): "Goodbye, Wisconsin!"

urchin specials no. 1-3
Tumblr media
Long time no see! I have been busy the past few months but finally had time to get started on my urchins specials project.
What is this you might ask? :D
I've always wanted to try to bind a fanfic to look like a Penguin Classic. when I got some brilliant orange bookcloth in a mystery box order from Ratchfords I was even more intent on making this happen so I researched Penguin Classics designs through time and eventually came up with my own design which is not a direct copy of an existing design but nonetheless looks like it could've come out of a Penguin catalogue.
I combined design features of the vertical designs (vertical coloured stripes, prominent title, black vertical line, the publisher and imprint names in colour) and the horizontal designs (Gill Sans with letterspacing in three weights, bold, regular, and light with a rule below the title in colour). Further, just as the Pelican imprint has its own logo, I created a new logo for the series. the Penguin Specials series was a specialised non-fiction line separate, but part of, the great Penguin Classics imprint.
All of these inspirations culminated in my urchin classics (lowercase intentional).
“I left the medic room with ash on my hands and grease on my mouth and my heart clamped round with iron wire, the sort they used to keep urchins out of the shops in Molly.”
—Havemercy, Jaida Jones & Danielle Bennett
the first three urchins are A6 sized bound in turquoise or yellow bookcloth (the orange will be reserved for A5 sized urchins), self-ended, and printed on 80gsm Xerox Cream. the cover paper and the dustjacket is 160gsm Canaletto Cream.
urchin no. 1 - The Constellations of Touch by what_alchemy (Daredevil, Matt/Foggy)
Tumblr media
urchin no. 2 - In the City of Blinding Lights by Mizzy (Daredevil, Matt/Foggy)
Tumblr media
urchin no. 3 - Something Dumb to Do by poisonivory (Daredevil, Matt/Foggy)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I need to do some finetuning on the jackets as the first three didn't come out right (the margins on the flap text aren't correct on any of them) but so far I'm really happy with how these came out. :D
P.S. here is a video on tiktok for those who want to see these in action.

🌹Rose Serpent Press Yearly Overview 2023 🌹
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Better late then never am I right? Stats below the read more!
🐍Total:
6 books bound, all unique, and single fic books rather then duplicates or anthologies. Of these, 4 were fanfiction.
Of these, 4 were A6 and 2 were A5.
A total of 213599 words uniquely typeset.
The word count this year was a little less then the year before, and about half of the number of books bounds then last year. This result is likely as this year many of my typesets focused on single-fic books rather than anthologies, series of anthologies, ot duplicates which composed of a good number of the ones I had bound last year. I had also been quite busy this year unfortunately, and didn't have as much time as I wanted to put work into bookbinding. I had also gotten a lot more pickier for how I like to do my typesetting, and as a result it took me much longer to do a typeset then previously. Which reminds me I have some nearly finished typesets I just need to touch one or two things up on... ooops. This also seems to be a A6 enthusiast year as I seem to have focused mainly on those, rather then the previous A5 books.
Total of books bound over the two years now: 19 books, 2 published literature, 1 journal, and 16 fanfiction. For fanfiction, 50 unique fics have been printed, spanning across 6 fandoms. Four new fanfics were added this year to the list, and three new fandoms; Hannibal, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Trigun.
🐍Fandoms and Ships:
Trigun: Vash the Stampede x Nicholas - 1 book, 1 fic
Jujutsu Kaiden: Gojo Satoru x Getou Suguru - 1 book, 1 fic
Gintama: Sakata Ginroki x Toushirou Hijikata - 1 book, 1 fic
Hannibal: Hannibal Lecter x Will Graham - 1 book, 1 fic
Published literature/other: 1 book, and 1 journal
🐍Breakdown by title:
Nachfolge (A5) - 82150 words
Lilac (A6) - 16820 words
Journal (A5) - no words, 60 sheets
Wolf and I (A6) - 46115 words
White pony (A6) - 10049 words
Carry Me Home (A5) - 58465 words

Safe Haven
Fandom: Andromeda Six Pairing: Juniper "June" Nyux/f!Traveler Rating: General Summary: Maris never felt at home in Goldis, but with June, she's never felt safer. Words: 953 Additional Tags: Love, Feelings, Friendship/Love, Post-Orion
Read on AO3
Tumblr media
The hallways of the Andromeda Six were deserted, a depression falling over the entire ship after the events of Orion. Chrono was in their solar dust, Tilaarin on the radar as their next stop. But Maris couldn’t stop thinking about the experiments, the agony on June’s face, and how easy it was for him to destroy the Orionite tainted soldiers. She’d been honest when she told him that he didn’t scare her, he never had, but her heart hurt every time she remembered the tortured expression on his face when he’d apologized to her for it all.
As if he had to apologize for simply existing.
Maris somehow managed to resist seeking him out after his visit to her cabin a few days before, knowing there were preparations to be made for Tilaarin, that the guns were still in need of repairs, and that the crew was busy with all of their normal tasks. But after three more days of silence, she found herself standing in front of June’s door, the access panel glowing a dreadful red that did little to ease her nerves.
After a moment’s hesitation, did she really think she was important enough to bother him for no reason, she lifted her fist to knock, the echo loud in the quiet. The door opened barely a few seconds later, June’s confusion immediately turning to delight at the sight of her, a smile brighter than any sun she’d seen on his handsome face. Any doubt she had vanished as he reached forward, rough fingers closing around her hand.
“Maris? I wasn’t expecting you-”
“Oh… I’m sorry. I just… haven’t seen you for more than a couple minutes here or there in the last few days and I wanted to… I should have asked.” She flushed, feeling like a complete idiot, and took a step back. “I’ll leave you be.”
“Please, don’t ever apologize.” June shook his head and pulled her closer before she could sprint down the hallway, the door hissing closed behind her, leaving them alone in his room. His fingers trailed down her arm, a softness to his grey eyes that left her weak in the knees. “I’ve missed you.”
“You did?” She responded with a flirty grin, running a hand over his vest, the smooth fabric soft against her fingertips.
June chuckled, stilling her hand before she could go farther. Lifting it to his mouth, he pressed a kiss to her knuckles, soft and slow, eyes burning as he watched her duck her head, unable to stop the blush on her cheeks. His lips trailed down her hand until they reached her wrist. Then he pressed another kiss there. When he spoke, his mouth was still against her skin and she felt every word. “I always miss you when you’re not here.”
Clearing her throat, she turned away, trying to hide the flush beneath her choppy teal hair, but failing miserably. June tugged on her hand, stopping her before she tried to run for it again, guiding her closer to him. She glanced up as he wrapped an arm around her waist, soft lips brushing against her forehead.
With a sigh, she wrapped her arms around him, her face pressed into the white shirt he wore. He smelled so much like the sandalwood and lavender soap he bathed with and fresh air and life. He was solid and warm, his arms holding her gently against his body, and for the first time in months, she felt safe. Like she was finally home. And that terrified her more than the thought of returning to Goldis, of facing down the man who orchestrated her entire family’s massacre.
“June? I need to tell you something.”
“You can tell me anything.” His hand trailed down her back in gentle strokes, his heat soaking into her with each touch.
Maris felt the flutter of butterflies in her stomach and she turned her face so he wouldn’t see the terror in her eyes. The last thing she needed was for him to misinterpret it as fear of him. Her fingers toyed with a button on his shirt, trying to focus on the words so she didn’t jam them together into some incoherent nonsense. Like usual. “You… make me feel safe. You make me feel like I can be whatever, whoever, I want to be and that’s not something I’ve ever felt before.”
There were more things she wished she could express this early in their relationship but her tongue grew heavy and she paused, closing her eyes as the horror of being so open and vulnerable hit her full force. June inhaled deeply, his chest expanding against her cheek and she closed her eyes tighter, hands trembling as her fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt.
“Maris?”
June hooked a finger beneath her chin, tilting her head towards his, but she kept her eyes shut, terrified to see the look on his face. He shifted closer, pressing a single kiss to each eyelid before waiting for them to flutter open, green eyes meeting grey.
Running a hand across her hair and curling the teal strands around his fingers, the corner of his mouth turned up into a smirk. “You don’t have to be afraid to admit what you feel to me. Because with you, I feel the same. You make me feel normal… more of a real person than I’ve ever had.”
Maris felt all fear, all worry, all doubt melt away at his words and she sighed, hugging him tighter. June let out a chuckle before laying his head atop hers, chest rumbling against her cheek. A happy sound that she vowed to hear every day of the rest of her life.

Aphrodite (A Damon and Ester Snippet)
Just a silly little thing I jot down after discovering the origin of Damon's name.
Warnings: None
Setting: Tilaarin (Epi 7-8?)
Damon and Ester walk relaxedly, side by side, the sun slowly setting in the distance. Damon stretched; sparring with Nerissa was actually tiring. He had to admit that she knew her way around a blade; flopping into bed seemed very appealing right now. Damon glanced at Ester, whose head was tilted downward, auburn hair tickling his eyelashes. He looked lost in thought.
He nudged Ester’s shoulder, saying, “Keep doin' that, and your brain’s gonna burst one day.”
Ester blinked as if coming out of a daze and looked around at him, “Oh, sorry. I was just reflecting.”
“On what?” Damon asked.
“Some stuff Alisa said,” Ester replied, then his lips twitched into a smile, “...She said she’d hunt me down if I hurt you. I don’t see why she should be teasing you about being protective.”
Damon shook his head, “Somehow, I’m not surprised.”
Ester laughed softly, “You really care about each other. She’s like your very own Pythias, huh?”
Damon tilted his head in confusion, “My what?”
“Pythias,” Ester repeated, “From the story?”
“Still no clue what you're talking about.”
“Damon and Pythias,” Ester made a dramatic gesture with his hands. “It’s an old human story. Greek. It’s the origin of your name. You didn’t know?”
Damon rolled his eyes, but it was affectionate, “There’s only one nerd outta the two of us, and it isn’t me.”
Ester whapped Damon on the shoulder lightly, and Damon grinned.
“Well, put simply, Pythias and Damon were close friends, and one day, a tyrant king accused Pythias of going against him and said he was to be executed. Pythias accepted his fate but asked if he could travel to his homeland first to close his affairs and say goodbye to his family. The king refused, but Damon, seeing how important this was to Pythias, said that the king could take him hostage until Pythias came back. The king agreed and said that Damon was to be executed in Pythias’s stead if he did not return. Pythias left, and soon, the deadline for his return started to arrive. The king grew impatient, but just as Damon was about to be executed, Pythias returned. He apologized and explained that he had been captured by pirates but had fled the ship by jumping into the sea and swimming for hours until he found shore, desperate to come back and save his friend. Touched by the pair’s friendship and loyalty to each other, the king let them both go free,” Ester turned to look at Damon, cheek flushing faintly, “It’s a bit of a fairytale ending, but the story grew popular, and Damon and Pythias became known as an icon of loyalty.”
Damon stared at Ester, “How the hell do you remember random stuff like this?”
Ester shrugged, “I don’t know. You interest me, and I suppose a passion for something helps me remember it.” This time, Ester flushed completely, “I-I mean, it interests me. I enjoy mythology, and Greeks played a big part in it—stop laughing!”
Damon bit inside of his cheek to quiet down his chuckling, “You're adorable, did you know that?”
Ester sped up, eyes fixed determinedly away from Damon and ears still bright red, “I’m never telling you anything ever again.”
Damon jogged closer to Ester, “Nooo, oh come on- don’t worry. You interest me too. And besides, if Alisa’s my Pythias, you’re my Aphrodite,” Damon said the last part in Ester’s ear, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. Ester turned to make a face at him, and Damon started laughing again.
“You’re so cheesy,” Ester groaned.
“Sorry, I think you mean charming,” Damon raised his eyebrows.
Ester rolled his eyes but smiled all the same.

An Embellishment of Lore
I think as Fanfic writers, we often add lore to our stories. It is natural for us to build upon the pillars set for us. But what about the foundations, gravel and grit? What was a piece of Lore you added to Dragon Age that wasn't pre-existing?
I will provide an example of my own below from two chapters concerning the topic. CW for Blood and Violence.
Chapter 26: Disciples of Lust, Lies and Power
Solas’s eyes rested on the table as I deliberated, they presented in a hazy hues of purple and gray, like a storm churning on the black horizon. His mind was occupied by something, clouded over by a memory.
The corners of his mouth twitched into a deep frown before sliding back up into disgust.
“You have memories you’d aspire to forget…so do I.” He stated lowly as his hand hovered over the board.
“The Veil I suppose.” I surmised as I selected my next move based on his.
Solas plucked his Pawn from its dock at A6 and observed it, twisting the stippled token in his fingers.
“It was a grand spectacle when the Evanuris played chess, they didn’t use marble carved pieces such as these. They used slaves armed with weapons.”
I relented my gaze from the board to stare at him in growing unease, no longer able to concentrate as I listened to him continue.
“Swords for the King and Queen, lances for the Knights, daggers for the rest. There was so much blood one could no longer see the checked tile. Deleterious entertainment.” Solas set the piece down, his tone tempered with notes of repressed rage.
"Is that how you became so skilled?" I murmured, thoughtlessly. "Who fought on your behalf?"
"You don't know what you suggest." He growled, his fist curling around the table. "Countless lives were lost, lives spent as if they meant nothing, no one fought on MY behalf. Do not equate me to them."
“And yet, when the mighty veil comes crashing down, you’ll free them. Those that are so evil. What happens if they escape your vague plans?” I chided, smug that I had something to wield against his supposed perfection.
“They will never see the light of day.” Solas raised those churning eyes to my own.
Chapter 27: Two Queens
(Context: Moon'Hwa is cutting his hair)
"You asked me earlier when we played chess ...if I joined the Evanuris in their deleterious game.” He stated rather than asked.
I jumped, startled, and nearly took off my own finger.
He watched me curiously with a brow held in question.
I nodded slowly.
"I was one of the Pawns...then I became a Knight...then a King and then...something more."
"You were a slave?" I asked as gently as I could, trying to recover from my surprise, my tongue coiled around the last word hesitantly.
"Not exactly," Solas explained and finished with a sorrow-drenched whisper, "She asked me to fight."
"Mythal?"
Snip.
"Yes." He answered after a pause.
"...so, you had to prove yourself."
"Not to her. Them ." He hissed as if referring to them at all was akin to a heated knife slicing through flesh.
"You became something more? Did Mythal elevate you?" I probed, genuinely interested.
Snip.
"I ascended as a general to lead her armies against them. To give orders, strategies, and plans that ensured success. Victory canonized me as a god...as one of them."
“Is that when you discovered your magic?”
Snip.
“No, I knowingly carried it, but I did not wield it.”
Snip
“Even when you fought with weapons, why didn’t you take advantage of it? It would have been a boon.”
“ Pawns aren’t granted the use of the Fade. I couldn’t strategically put it to use. The Evanuris enjoyed watching the struggle. The sword was enough with my intent provoking each strike.”
The memory that his imagery conjured struck a chord in an already fracturing symphonic resolve.
“Pawns, although simple, can accomplish great things.”
How about you? <3

✦ Things to Know / QNA ✦
✧ Things to know :
>> TEAMMATESWAP is a ONE person fan project created by zombvibes. (me, the person running this account) >> The main tag for this au is : TEAMMATESWAP - DR AU (this is the same tag I use on my main so... might as well use it.)
✧ QNA
Q1. What is TEAMMATESWAP?
A1. This along with similar questions have already been answered! Please refer to the Masterpost.
Q2. Are fanworks allowed? (Fanart, fanfics, fan music etc.)
A2. Of course!! PLEASE never hesitate to create something for this au! Just make sure to tag this account so I can reblog it on here!
Q3. Am I allowed to make an au inspired by TEAMMATESWAP?
A3. Of course!! (It’s not like the idea of an UTDR swap au focusing on a few characters is unique to me anyways LMAO.)
Q4. Why specifically Susie, Noelle and Berdly? And will there be any other swapped characters? Like a Kris and Ralsei swap?
A4. At the time I created this au (a month after chapter 2’s release), I was fixated on those characters. ...that’s it. Nothing too crazy. As for other characters, absolutely not. It’s a little too late for that. (Plus a Kris-Ralsei swap never interested me.)
Q5. What about the weird route/snowgrave route?
A5. The Weird Route (or Cryocrypt) IS different compared to the original Snowgrave. Including how many individual diverging paths are in the route itself. Of course I’ll go into detail but all information about the Cryocrypt route is here!
Q6. I have a question but it’s not here.
A6. The inbox is pretty much always open and I’m down to answer any question you have! (As long as it's nothing inappropriate.) Click here!

Sometimes you make things and they just stare back at you and flip ears.
I made a tiny case for an A6 notebook and my ebook reader mainly because I had a trip from work that included spending over 4h in car as a passenger. The boys' expressions when I took out leather pieces and started stitching them - priceless xd

Yesterday, as I finished putting the three pieces together, I decided I could add these metal triangles. This way, should I ever need it, I can make a tiny bag/purse out of it if I attach some kind of belt or strap. Also I think it's a nice detail in itself, adding a bit to the whole case.
The case is just wide enough to put there my notebook (I made it ages ago, I hardly use notebooks for fanfic writing these days) and mu ebook reader. I can also take out the reader and put there a pencil case instead.

Don't let it fool you - it's tiny.

I like the way it turned out.
