Random fantasy character ideas

A knight sworn to protect a princess, but they both hate each other’s guts

A thief in the found family that can’t keep his hands to himself and has to constantly resist the urge to steal things. Also can’t keep his nose out of others’ business

A team of assassins that are basically a family, with a whole bunch of different dynamics between them

A prince/princess best friends with a servant (does not have to be the same dynamic as merlin)

A sarcastic and kinda-grumpy uncle/aunt and an adventurous, hopeful (sometimes irresponsible) nephew/niece

Blacksmith/inventor/engineer/alchemist (literally anything with building) best friends with an animal sidekick, but no actual real life friends because everyone sees them as weird

I think at first when she figures out how to change she tries her best to stay under the radar. She ignores any ghost attacks tries to focus on keeping it together. I imagine it's hard being a cheerleader when you phase right through your teammates. I imagine she'd become kind of quiet and keep to herself. She doesn't know what she is and it's scary. But once she figures out the upsides the world better look out!

Yeah I definitely agree with this line of thought, but I’d go one step further.

I think she’d try to “suppress” this new weird part of herself, because she’s normal!! She’s TOTALLY normal, nothing weird is going on at all!! She’d pretend as if nothing is going on at all, she’s totally fine, she’s not a freak. Of course, her anxiety over the situation only makes her powers wig out even more, so after a while she finally comes to the conclusion that she HAS to practice using these powers and gain some more control, so that she’ll never have to use them again.

Then, slowly, she starts to realize these powers are… kinda useful?

Cheerleading suddenly becomes ten times easier when you’re able to actually FLOAT in the air, and you can do all these impressive flips and stuff and make people think you’re SUPER cool. And heck, flying in general is pretty nice.

I think Paulina might go on a bit of a selfish streak, using her powers for personal gain at first, like cheating on exams, turning invisible to spy on other classmates to get that sweet gossip. And maybe at one point, she does save someone in her ghost form, and then like a light bulb it goes off in her head—

She can TOTALLY become SUPER POPULAR if she becomes a SUPERHERO!!!

So she becomes a (selfishly motivated, of course) superhero, usually just saving people when there’s a crowd, anything to get some attention on her, (Like she’d be that kind of person to record herself giving money to the poor to get those sweet views) and even perhaps starts bribing people to put themselves in dangerous situations so she can ‘save’ them. Generally just becoming a worse version of herself.

And then perhaps she gets her own version of The Ultimate Enemy, where she’s confronted with all her past choices and sees that she’s on the road to becoming something truly monstrous… And she realizes she doesn’t want that.

She doesn’t change right away, of course, cuz who can change on a dime? But she does start to become just… a little nicer. Maybe a bit more helpful here and there. She starts to recognize she should help people just for the sake of helping them, not for views or public opinion, and not to put herself on a pedestal. But merely just because its the right thing to do.

Over all, I think as a character Paulina would have a constant struggle with her selfishness vs using her powers for true good, but slowly does learn that being a hero means doing the right thing no matter how the public perceives you.

a big part of the reason why es/me holds no truly possessive nature in her relationship with car/lisle is because of her marriage as a human.
