The prev post i rbed also reminds me of that time when Ndns & our allies frequently had to keep making posts defending various Native tribes and trying to give them the proper credit & dignity they deserve because of how long theyve been demonized, especially like the Mexica & Inca for example, as well as the hypocrisy of White ppl for that demonization bc while ppl will go on and on about how "scary" they thought "Aztecs" were for human sacrifice, on the other hand they'd call Vikings & Ancient Greeks "cool" for the exact same thing.

Only for some dickhead to make a million note post going "stop woobifying Native Americans they did human sacrifice!!" as a response to us doing that. Which was us trying to stop seeing Natives as scary, ruthless savages.

Like don't pretend you care and then use anti racism as a guise to continue racism, fuck off.

you should check out the cottagecore post by cottageburner, hes an indigenous man who explains how the aesthetic is inherently colonialistic even outside of north america. i feel like everyone whos discussing it on your blog should read it. ty ollie.

K so my prof was talking about Indigenous filmmakers in Canada because our topic for the week is documentaries. She started talking about “K’nai”, a nation in the southern part of Alberta and I was so confused as to what she was talking about. I have lived in this province my whole life, not to mention I’m Cree so like knowing the nations in this province matters to me. She said it like 3 times before I realized she meant “Kainai” but was trying to sound like she knew what she was saying. Like it’s fine moniyaw, just say it how it’s spelled, that’s a closer pronounciation than whatever the fuck you were doing 🙄
