Says when he started YouTube he was in the Air Force. He thought YouTube was the most awesome thing, it used to be a cool small community. His song "I'm So Gamer" was featured on the front page. He says it got 770,000 views, but mostly not rated well, like 2.5 stars. That got him 1,000 subscribers.

He beefed with The Amazing Ashiest over vegetarianism. He told his audience to eat meat every time Greg made a video talking about vegetarianism, so Greg made 8 back to back videos about vegetarianism to make people sick of eating meat. He says it backfired for The Amazing Ashiest. He says it was a cool experience and they eventually met and shook hands.

There were cool people on YouTube back then like Shane Dawson. Says there was a YouTuber (can't catch the name) back then who he didn't like because he would put random celebrities in his thumbnails. Says he's (Greg) more of a butts and cleavage in the thumbnail, then react to it.

YouTube had a lot of free speech back then, like iDubbz saying the n word with the hard r. Greg would say "nidder" then bleep it out to sound like the word. It was a joke and he was making fun on racist people, but people thought it was proof he was racist. That's why he would do it in a southern accent. People got the joke back then, but now they don't.

[Shiloh candy corn video, I've typed this story so many times I'm not doing it again.] His point is everyone got the joke then, but doesn't get it now.

Says people got the joke when the director of Guardians of the Galaxy made a joke about liking little boys. Now people say he's a monster. The cast stood up for him and said it was a joke. He says people like PewDiePie and Shane Dawson tweeted inappropriate jokes like that.

Says our current culture is the scariest thing ever because they try to hurt you for jokes. People lost their sense of humor.

Making content was fun back then. People looked at the full picture and facts and not things taken out of context. Over time it became, "let's cancel Tobuscus and not hear his side of the story." Says you guys went crazy and Tobuscus didn't do anything. Like Johnny Depp. You guys made Jenna Marbles cry for a misunderstanding.

Says recently he's been able to tap into optimism that comes and goes. Some days he's bitter, but some days he's ok.

Says he saw a French movie in a theater about a man who went to a concentration camp with his son. The father realized the happiness of his son was the most important thing ever, so he explains things to his son in a way that won't hurt him. He distracts his son from a pile of dead bodies. [Greg is crying now] Says the father was trying to make the best of a terrible situation for his son and he can relate to that. Says the love a father has for his son is overwhelming and it's important to value the health and mental health of your kids. Says it's one of the most beautiful aspect of human beings, being in a concentration camp and still doing everything you can to keep hope alive.

Says if you can make your life better, even if you lose money and can't follow your dreams- his dream since he was 15 was to be creative.

He was making videos trying to help people like don't self harm, don't kill yourself, this is how you deal with depression. He made thousands of videos for a decade of his life. He wanted to help people, but he said so many things he regrets. He did things that were popular and demanded of him, like taking about furries. He didn't care about furries, but whenever he made videos about them they got clicks and likes. His DDLG videos, he thought it was gross, but they got views. Those videos weren't his interest. He loved making comedy videos and seeing people encourage him in the comments, around 2009-2012. But things have changed.

He doesn't want to talk about the things people say about him on Twitter, YouTube, and national television. He says it's crazy, he was just a random guy in the military making videos and it blew up to him getting 2 billion views before the adpocalypse. He worked every day and neglected his life, threw his life away. He wasn't spending as much time with friends and family as he should have.

He was loved by a lot of people, but things turned and now everyone hates him. When you piss people off, they piss back. He prided himself as being the most honest YouTuber. He says he's pretty sure he always said "one of" the most honest because how could he be the "most" honest? He passed a polygraph and he had yankee white or just under yankee white security clearance, so the US government trusted him. He is certified in every way with his honesty. He was discharged under honorable conditions, originally discharged honorably, but it was downgraded he thinks because he served 3.5 years instead of 4.

He values blunt honesty, but it's not compatible with the world these days. It makes things harder for his family and they are the most important thing in the world. Says he lays with his kid every night and they watch SpongeBob together. Sometimes he's playing games or on twitter, and he's thinking this is the only thing that matters. This wonderful human being and the people in his life. Being on social media directly punishes the people he cares about. Now they have to deal with people walking up to him in public and saying things to him. He says lately people who have come up to him have been awesome.

He says one time he was with his family and a girl came up to him and asked if he was Onision. Later she went on Twitter and said she was terrified because he was ordering a burrito bowl. He asks why she would walk up and introduce herself to him when he's with his family? Someone at Lowes took a picture of- he cuts off and says they violated his family's privacy.

He's not sure why he didn't come to this conclusion sooner. Says the woman who played Eleven was bullied off social media when she was a kid.

You could be famous and make millions, but the consequences outweigh the joys of having a private life.

Says he's leaving social media. He's said it before, but his reason was never this good. If you're paying him a subscription, he's still going to do that. Everything he doesn't get paid for, he can't do anymore.

He tried joining the military again, but they rejected him because he doesn't want to kill people. He says he could have a desk job or clean the septic tanks, but they said no. He has to consider other options.

He says a lot of men love him on OF. He says he's a top, but they want to do things to him. Appreciates the gay men who support him.

Hey! I watched the podcast live earlier and just blatantly decided to come to you since I saw you were watching it :) hope you don't mind

My review is honestly that it was so so much better than the last one Dream (and also the last one Sapnap) took part in.

The people there, for starters, were so much calmer and neutral and, while some are odd figures to see for the - probably - first time (case and point, Amouranth) they actually were all knowledgeable, open and not biased. Amouranth actually proved to be likeable in last hour or so if you overlook what her job is which is fine by me and everyone else was honestly not really prejudiced against Dream and Sapnap's fanbase which was a nice surprise. They all were very diverse in their communities which makes discussions more interesting.

Obviously I had chat closed, after the first few minutes of seeing them spam weird stuff, so neither do I know nor do I care what happened there and I advise everyone to follow that strategy.

The topics might appear dry to a degree but that's normal and I actually thought they weren't as bad as others made it out to be either. Cryptocurrency and E-sports may not be everybody's favorite stuff to hear about but it was actually somewhat interesting to hear the conversation. Also it wasn't all they talked about either and it was mostly enjoyable.

People have to remember that this wasn't a podcast about Dream and George, it's a podcast they take part in, it's about Twitch in general, not about Minecraft, and about stuff happening in the world like Covid-19 and whatnot. And the amount of interest the people there actually showed in them despite that was very nice to see. When they talked about Minecraft, others took part in the conversation and brought up own opinions and experiences, and they listened when they talked or asked questions about E-sports and Twitch con.

Onto Dream and Sapnap - they talked a lot more than in most other podcasts they were in before! They didn't seem particularly disinterested either in my opinion? It was just that they were doing stuff in the background, playing games or be on Twitter etc. so reaction times were sometimes a little bit slower and might've made it seem like that but -

The fact that Train wanted to close the podcast but Dream talked about Sapnap wanting to stay more and then they went on for another hour kind of cancels that out for me.

Memorable Dream and Sapnap moments I remember at the top of my head from that were (not in order):

Train tries to explain the 1v5 Manhunt and everyone is kind of confused what he's talking about until he talks about landing in a boat

Dream and Sapnap were asked what's new in the Minecraft community and deadass didn't remember MCC despite Dream streaming the practice server

Ultimately we got Dream doing a few laps in Ace Race from his POV and him dominating in Dodgebolt, even winning 1v2s (on the server)

Dream correcting people on what the best colors for marketing are

Sapnap mocking us with not talking and he's generally just there to fuck with Train and troll everyone

At one point XQC joined and asked to 1v1 Dream in Minecraft. He got demolished and then continued to get demolished by Sapnap

Dream talks about the SMP a bit (once when they proposed that he turns it into an org to make more money and he just blatantly says that he doesn't want to get a check of his friends money; later they asked how he picks the people for it)

Sapnap wants to do one live E-sports event for the experience but not go pro

(Something along the lines of:) Slasher: "You can just pay a million to do some real Minecraft event (probably for live E-sports or whatever) and do it yourselves right?"; Dream: "Oh yeah, let me do that real quick."; Slasher: "I mean, assuming you make like 30 million a year or something."; Dream: "Definitely not thirty."

They're hypothetizing on Obama in MCC

Sapnap is the only one to hear Myth say Goodbye

Train: how old are you; Sapnap: ²⁰

Sapnap just highkey trolling the whole group (Do you live in Canada? Yes. | Are you in New York right now? Yes.)

They talk about conventions and whether Dream and Sapnap would consider going to them. Sap mentions Dreamcon again

They talk about streaming for a bit (They explain the concept behind having alts; Sapnap streamed 6 hours on his main and averaged 177k viewers/19 hours on his alt with an average 48k viewers/everyone is just highkey baffled; Dream: "I have zero hours.")

They pull the George doesn't know what Dream looks like scam again

Sapnap is asking Train if he would give Sap all his Bitcoin for Sap to run into Dream's room and face reveal prank him on Train's podcast

They are theorizing on how they would market Dream's face reveal, Dream and Sapnap find their idea stupid

Train jokingly offers to give out his stream key to Sapnap and Dream and for them to organize a podcast "with the gang" and Sapnap bluntly agrees. Train is baffled. (Pls. Yes. Probably not and a joke but please. Yes, give it to me.)

Maybe I'll look up the time stamps later if you want me to, but yeah :) I probably spammed you. I found it honestly very enjoyable and I only saw people complain so I wanted to give my opinion

i'm acquainted with an afab nb who calls himself a "lesbian" (he's okay with male pronouns btw). around 2 years ago, when we were 15 i met him through a childhood friend because she said we would get along. we hit it off nearly instantly and we would talk everyday. he told me he was nb and i told him i was a trans man, at the time i was still on the fence on nb and i didn't care enough torisk my connection with him over this. then we mzade plans to meet up again and he said he wanted to make out and shit when we met. i accepted because i found him attractive and nice, things are going well! then a few days before our meeting i find out he's a lesbian apparently. i go "well, than that means our hook up is cancelled lol" and he goes "no, that's alright, i see you as a woman". yep. i made up an excuse not to meet him because that was such a huge shock.

we're from Brazil, so we use portuguese, a latin language that has no gender neutral pronouns, so people started making up such gender neutral pronouns and i view them just the same as neopronouns : unnecessary and easy to use. after a while, he said that he was now going by one of those neopronouns and sent me a link to those pronoun listing sites, i tried to explain to him that it's very hard for me to just learn new sets of pronouns because autism and shit, and he says he doesn't want to talk to me anymore because of that.

i still have him added on whatsapp but we don't talk, i just see the "fuck cishet" "fuck gender" memes he posts on his status. from talking to him over the years, i could see he's genuinely dysphoric. he told me his most urgent plan was to go see a therapist to start medically transitioning like me. he would sometimes talk about how much he wanted to be on hormones, get top surgery, get phalloplasty but he's totally not a man! i also don't doubt he is a lesbian because we used to talk about women a lot, so it's mostly just a skewed view on what the label means, nb people can't be lesbians and such. to me, it sounds like he's just a trans dude, but because he's so into the Twitter mentality of hating cishets and 278292 genders and fuck men that he just doesn't want to be a straight guy. i'm a trans bi guy and i even sometimes make jokes about "God im so straight" when i see a hot woman but considering that he has very lefty views being straight must be the end of the world for him.

do you think it's a lost cause? should i try to talk to him again? i say this because he's genuinely a nice person but he's also the one who can't shut up about how men are so bad and gender is so cosmic and other dumb shit. considering we're still 17, i kinda hope he can change. honestly i just miss having someone to play minecraft with and i can relate a lot with him.

I'm not a wise old community member with years of experience to give you the perfect solution. But I have had my share of friendships falling apart for various reasons. And let me tell you, sometimes it's better to stop being friends. Sometimes the nostalgia of the past makes it hard to realize that. Unfriending someone isn't easy. Losing someone is always scary. But you gonna do what's best for you.

But if you really want to continue the friendship I would shoot them a message. Ask if they still only see you as a women. If yes, drop them. That part of your story really rubbed me the wrong way. If he can't see you as a man, then he isn't worth keeping as a friend. It's not worth trying to make it work if he's not even going to see you as who you are.

If he does see you as a man, ask him if he actually wants to be friends or not. He might just say no and if so, again, it's not worth trying to make it work somehow. If he says yes, set your boundaries. No hating men talk or other things that make you uncomfortable while you two are hanging out. If he agrees great. Otherwise, he isn't going to make you feel happy. He'll only frustrate you and make you feel guilty/angry.

Personally, I'd unfriend him and move on. Someone who can't see me as a man and has clearly shown they don't want to reach out to me isn't a relationship I'm willing to put energy into. But you're not me. If you think it's worth it, the worse thing that can happen by reaching out is him proving he won't respect you. He certainly is capable of changing. People change a lot as they get more experiences as adults. But they can change for better or for worse. And it's not your job to help them. It sucks letting someone go. But some people just really aren't worth the emotions they're gonna put you through if you continue to be around them.

Good luck. And I hope you figure out which option is gonna be best for you. And I especially hope you're able to find friends that respect you as the man you are and don't make you uncomfortable. You deserve that. And there are people who will respect you a lot more then this person.
