A-level politics is crazy, there's a guy in a danger mouse t-shirt debating a licence to vote and some guy proposed a cap on voting age but is very obviously losing more and more faith in his idea by the moment, and very reluctantly voted in favour for his idea in the end. No one else voted for it either.

A levels are almost over which feels really strange. I only have 2 exams left and will be done in less than a week. All of my exams have gone surprisingly well though there are things I definitely wish I could have done better. John's Passion narrative has a never-ending fascination for me, because it's where you get Jesus at his most divine--knowing everything that was going to happen, making the guards fall to their faces when he speaks the name of God--while the people around him are at their most human.

There's an entire political drama going on. Pilate the Roman pagan getting dragged into this provincial Jewish religious dispute. These Jewish leaders and Jesus providing different visions of truth to a politician who doesn't care what the truth is. There's extremely sharp political back-and-forth between the Roman and the Jewish authorities--the Pharisees trying to force Pilate's hand by saying that everyone who makes himself a king opposes Caesar, then Pilate backing them into proclaiming Caesar as their king and twisting the knife of pettiness by labeling Jesus as the Jewish king in four different languages while He hangs on the cross.

Petty, personal, political human drama taking up all their attention.

And meanwhile, God is dying.

I officially have my A Level results! I got an A*A*A with my A being in history and my A*s in Politics and English. I'm shocked and relieved and so excited to have gotten into my first choice uni to study Philosophy and Politics.

I hope everyone else getting results today and in the next few weeks is just as happy, but if not remember that grades aren't everything. I know it felt to me like if I didn't do well the world would end but there are so many options out there that you might not even know exist.

I can't wait to start blogging properly again in September when I start university! Thanks to everyone who has been liking my posts throughout this journey <3
