the last of us seems like an excellent show but i fear i can’t watch it bc tell me why i watched the first 30 minutes of episode 1 last night and then immediately had the most fucked up zombie dreams

taking a creative writing intro course this fall and i’m so, so excited!!!!

#.txt #it definitely wasn't in the books but the other two courses i had slotted aren't going to work until the spring so i chose it as a filler #and then got really attached to it #first had to submit to the humiliating ordeal of confirming it was a personal interest course to my advisor but she was chill with it haha #(bc she was pushing for me to take another course that's only offered in the fall but i said maybe next year because i'm already taking two #other language courses) (it's too complicated for the tags) #i'm just genuinely so so excited #hoping it will consistently inspire me to write + i'll feel a little more learned #since i loved creative writing in high school but the first year of college was just crazy insane busy (which is kind of the vibe for my #future endeavors as well because almost full time work full time school ahahah) #of course scared that i'll have hardcore imposter syndrome and everyone else will be better writers and talented and passionate #which i want! but it also makes me feel a sort of weird vibe idk i know i'm good at writing. but the technical aspect is tricky #plus there's also weird feelings about childhood dreams - #as in i always wanted to be a writer but i learned to bite down on that dream because obviously it wasn't going to work out #so sometimes i feel like i failed myself by giving up on my dream even though i didn't really? #because studying something else was the practical choice for ensuring i have more prospects for career etc #plus i do like what i'm studying now #but writing was just what i always wanted you know #so i guess i can reclaim it a little now #school starts in two days though. haha *dies*

Your question made me realize we haven’t seen daffy and bugs like, Together with a capital Tee since the weird tlts spinoff movie 🤣😭 Man!! we’ve been starved for so long. (Wabbit may count, they’ve interacted a couple times but ehhh)

I like what LTC’s been doing, bringing everyone back to their roots. I wanna keep that momentum going and have Bugs and Daffy act like their 40s selves and pair them up in subsequent shorts.

They could work well as a duo, as rivals, anything! We’d have a larger range of storytelling/gag opportunities with Bugs and Daffy acting like their truer selves. A 40s Bugs is impatient, cunning, a smart ass, he could easily be an unwitting instigator with Daffy’s tendency to victimize himself. Daffy meanwhile, is crazy, energetic, unpredictable, he’d make such a fun villain to Bugs’ underdog. I could see them in westerns, in a modern setting, domestic or cartoonishly violent….They’d just. Bounce off each other wonderfully!!

But if we have to go modern, I’d say we’d look to the The Bugs and Daffy Thanksgiving special as a blueprint for future works. B+D have this really delicious mix of their modern depictions with Clampett-isms sprinkled in. I wouldn’t make a bunch of original characters to pit them against though… I’d rather them fight against the established LT villain library.

Or!! You know those WONDERFUL Lt shorts where the tunes had their own plot going on, but celebrity gags were tossed in for extra laughs? I’d love something like that too!! It’d put B+D back into the spotlight, in cultural relevancy, and give writers an opportunity to flex. If WB wanted to play dirty, a B+D short making fun of the industry and celebrities could be the annswer to Disney’s shitty Chip and Dale movie lmao. The current industry landscape loves to go all meta and flex IPs, so having Bugs and Daffy take the lead and inconvenience celebrities for 9 minutes straight would be absolutely wonderful. The only tricky park is putting together the right crew. It could easily become a cynical, awkward short where Daffy and Bugs don’t exist as their own characters, but as vehicles for branding (coughspacejam2cough)

Of the three options, the latter yields the largest reward in terms of publicity and “bringing Bugs and Daffy back”, but I have LITTLE faith in the current animation landscape to do them justice. the middle two options already have established themselves. Keeping the LTC staff to work on Bugs and Daffy shorts (if they’re all available) seems like the best route to go!

WHAT SPORTS DO YOU PLAY / HAVE YOU PLAYED? i don't do any rn 💀 but outside of mandatory participation (ie in classes) i've enjoyed swimming and soccer, though that wasn't competitive (like soccer was competitive but like. the way kids playing at lunch on the school oval is). i used to do tae kwon do and badminton as well.

HOW TALL ARE YOU? 167cm 'on a good day', as they say, or else 164cm LOL

FAVORITE SUBJECT IN SCHOOL? music and lit, but also partially bc i enjoyed the social atmosphere in those classes? i also enjoyed learning chem and bio.

DREAM JOB? i mean, given that i swapped courses, it'd feel wrong to not say 'author' lol but also like. even just editting? one thing i do really wanna do though is go to retirement homes and share the stories of the older adults - be that their life, or just a story they want to write but might be unable to? i mean, the best outcome/goal would be to enable or facilitate them writing it themselves, but i do want to write for people as well. especially within this specific context, i think having that social aspect is super important. (side note i just remembered a story one of the residents told me when i was on prac in '21 year and now im sad lol i hope she's well)

my friend missy asked me to fill out an art summary for the year! because a. lot has changed about my art over the course of 2022 (pretty much entirely in the second half...)

the june & september pieces were chosen bc, fun fact, they were the Only things i posted during those months according to my archive! as for notable milestones...

i got my tablet at the tail end of july, so anything from august on was drawn with that instead of with a mouse!

and i switched back to lineless art after two years of decrying it back in october :'D now i. don't think i'll ever look at lineart ever again at this point...

i still have some pieces i want to get out before the month ends, so stay tuned for those! and everyone who's been following me this year, whether you were around to watch any of this change in real-time or if you came by pretty recently, thanks for being here <3
