Well, I was going to wait to buy the beautiful British versions of these books, but they all aren’t going to be out until late 2024, and Book Outlet had five of them for $4 or less so here we are

He's a thief. He's a prince. He speaks to the Gods. He's barely more than a child. He's killed a man. He misses his cousin. He's a manipulator. He stole a stone of immortality from the people who were trying to steal it. He didn't die all the way. He never wanted to fight. He just wants to lay in his library and read. He had his hand cut off. He's a politician. He's a drunk. He's never more trouble than he is worth. He loves her and he's telling the truth. He's a menace. He's a king. He can steal anything. He's a liar. He's conquered two countries. He's terrifying. He's shorter than all his friends. He's a father. He's always underestimated.

Agape being onboard with marrying the volatile mess that is Eugenides in Queen of Attolia, and later, presumably, being just as onboard with marrying Sophos's uncle who is Sounis... Interpretations of her agency in those matches might vary, but if you assume she was only too willing to go ahead with them... Something very intimidating about how badly this woman wants a project
"(...)He was an astonishingly angry man, but he had many admirable qualities.” [the Magus] glanced up at Eddis and said, “He could be quite charming.” “Agape might have made something of him,” said Eddis.

Took a hot minute (switching brain meds no fun can we get an oof in the chat), but I'm BACK with the memes, this time for A Conspiracy of Kings!
Unfortunately, this is the book where my child started asking us to read sections aloud (we avoided the murdery parts), and Hakakatoes and Akrekeysmashnesh can go kick rocks
Tumblr media
But anyway. Let me take you through a bit of my process when I started this book.
"Oh boy, my favorite side character from the first book is back! I wonder what he'll get up to!"
Tumblr media
Trauma is what. Should have known.
Tumblr media
Baby boy needs some therapy and a course on self esteem my gosh.
Tumblr media
He's too cinnamon roll for this awful political hellscape he got dumped into. But when it comes down to it...
Tumblr media
Bunny Boy came in clutch and it was glorious.
Tumblr media
(Me too, Gen.)
Tumblr media
As if he didn't feel guilty enough already. Give! My! Child! A! Break!
And a couple extras of two of my favorite moments between the kings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyhoo, overall not my favorite book in the series so far (which pains me to say because Sophos is My Darling Child Whom I Love Very Much), but still an excellent read!

OwlCrate is at it again, folks!
Official merch for the Queen's Thief series is coming out! And it's gorgeous! 😍
It will be available first to those who ordered a copy of OwlCrate's exclusive edition of Moira's Pen (still available!).
They will send out an email to purchasers of Moira's Pen and current subscribers at 12:00 PST noon on Friday, April 14th. After 24 hours, newsletter subscribers get access. And once that has been open for 24 hours, it will open to everyone!
You do NOT have to purchase the whole collection - individual pieces will be for sale.
I'm so excited!

King of Attolia is still my favorite of the series but I don’t think I can accurately describe the joy I get from Sophos “Two Guns” Sounis and the “you shot the ambassador?” “you told me to shoot the ambassador!!” exchange

So, I've read A Conspiracy of Kings, and I gotta know...
Which TQT book is actually the best??
I got two more to go (no spoilers please!) and I guess I'm nervous about whether it'll still be good or just decline from there on.
Just gotta say that the titles are BANGERS. I would read each of the books again even if they were bad simply because the choices of titles are phenomenal

He said, “Sounis is lost. I know what comes of the Mede occupation. In a generation, or perhaps two, Sounis and Attolia and Eddis will be gone. Only Medes will serve in the government, only Medes will hold public office, only Medes will own land or hold wealth. They will knock down the old temples and control the guilds and the trades, and the Sounisians will be left okloi, or worse, beggars in their own cities.
I love this part, it's so telling. Are okloi not Sounisians? It gives you a sense of why Irene's army reform, even if it sounds so timid, had such a dramatic effect in society
