Raika - my Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc V OC - Synchro Raika is a duelist from the Synchro Dimension who loves dueling and dreams of one day having a duel against Jack Atlas so she can become the Duel Queen. Raika is friends with Yuugo and Rin and often helped them building their D-Wheel. She is a decent mechanic and services her own D-Wheel as well. Raika has a hot temper but she is extremely outgoing and friendly. She can be quite excitable and sometimes get's carried away when she is passionate about something, such as dueling or working on her D-Wheel. Raika uses a deck full of Yang Zing cards and, upon meeting Yuya and the Lancers, even learns to Pendulum Summon.

Do you have any favorite ARC V characters besides Yuya and any Yu-Gi-Oh! ships, characters, etc. for ARC V and outside of ARC V for Yu-Gi-Oh!?

Oh yeah, definitely! I may not talk about them as much (if at all- haha, whoops), but I'm more than a little fond of Zarc, Sawatari, Serena, Yuugo and Rin... for a veriety of reasons that range from "god the potential they had to be so good in the show" to just "I think this clown is neat".

As for the other series, some of my notables faves are Manjoume, Ryouga, Ai and Yuuou. As you can tell, I gravitate to theatrics, comedy, and any combination of both.

[fanfic] Shiny!

"Rin!  Rin!" 

Rin looked up as Yuugo scampered towards her, bearing a Pokeball in his hands.  Yuugo almost always had a brilliant smile but right now, it looked fit to light up the world.  She leaned back from where she'd been brushing out her beautiful icy Ninetails, running a light hand over her head before setting the brush aside.

"What did you catch?"  Yuugo always got so happy when he caught a new Pokemon.  He wasn't very competitive on the battling scene - though he was pretty good at it - but he just liked making new friends, and there weren't any better friends than one's Pokemon.

He grinned even more.  Rin suspected if it got any wider than the top of his head might very well fall off.  He tossed the ball once, then opened it, letting the Pokemon out.  There popped out a small Pokemon, that looked around for a few seconds before focusing on Yuugo.  She knew it for a Merrill right away; she'd seen them before.  But this one was different from the others.

Every other Merrill she'd seen in her life was a cute shade of blue.  This one bounced around just like the others, but instead of being blue it shimmered a bright green.  Her eyes widened.

"You found a shiny Merrill!"  Shiny Pokemon were rare.  She'd never seen one of any kind before outside of a book.  She reached out her hand and the Merrill sniffed gently before brushing against her.  "It's adorable!" "I know."  Yuugo agreed, rubbing the back of his neck. "It - it kind of reminds me of you.  I mean -"  Yuugo gestured from the Merrill to Rin herself, specifically her hair.  Rin blinked.  She'd never thought about it like that before.  It sort of matched. 

"You're not wrong,"  she allowed.  "Have you decided what you're going to name this little one?" 

Yuugo turned red, eyes flickering downward. "Well, kind of.  If you don't mind."

Rin tilted her head.  "Yuugo, that's your Pokemon.  You can name it whatever you like." 

"I know.  But it reminds me of you so much.  I kinda want to call it -"  Yuugo fidgeted again. "Rin-Rin."

The Merrill perked up the moment the name was uttered, cheeping happily.  Rin laughed, shaking her head a little.  "Well, I guess that's her name then."  It wasn't always easy to figure out a Pokemon's gender but this one appeared to be female.  And named after her. 

Yuugo petted Rin-Rin on the head and the Pokemon at once snuggled back into his hand.  Rin hadn't ever known anyone who got along with Pokemon the way that Yuugo did.  She had a pretty tight bond to her own team, but Yuugo was in a class by himself. 

"Well, let's get Rin-Rin something to eat,"  Rin suggested.  Yuugo's eyes lit up all over again and he darted to the kitchen, yelping about how Rin-Rin would just love what he had in mind for her.  Rin chuckled softly before going back to take care of the rest of her team.  That was life with Yuugo.

Yuugo trained Rin-Rin very well.  She learned mostly water-type attacks, and seemed to favor a couple of ice ones as well, including Rin's own favorite of Ice Beam.  While Yuugo did most of the training, sometimes he and Rin=Rin both watched as Rin worked with her own team, that lovely ice Ninetails and her Vanilluxe, Glaceon, along with Walrein, Froslass, and Lapras. 

Rin-Rin's evolution came without warning, during a sparring match against Rin's Vanilluxe, Sweet Stuff.  Yuugo could tell Rin-Rin wouldn't take another hit, but had just enough energy left for one last strike.  Sweet Stuff was on their last cone as well.  All that was needed was the right opening.

It came - just a single choice of attacks.  Rin-Rin blasted out Ice Beam as strong as they could get it to go.  Normally Ice attacks didn't do much damage against Ice Pokemon, and it wasn't really that damaging anyway.  But it damaged enough - just that little bit.

Sweet Stuff drooped down, eyes clouding over, and Rin hurried over with a Revive and a couple of Potions to get it back up as quickly as possible.  She never let her Pokemon stay out of it for long, not when the nearest Pokemon Center was at least two hours away.  They made do for themselves out here in the back of beyond.

"All right!"  Yuugo cheered, patting Rin-Rin on the top of their head and offering some berries to help her recover her strength.  "You did great!  I'm really proud of you."

Rin-Rin trilled happily, smiling up at Yuugo, before a sudden glow enveloped her.  Yuugo caught his breath, eyes widening, and Rin caught his hand automatically.  She'd seen Pokemon evolution many times before, having raised most of her Pokemon from either eggs or when she first caught them, but she always adored watching them get stronger and bigger, showing their development.

Yuugo's jaw dropped as the light faded and he saw the new Pokemon that stood there. Rin-Rin now was a full blown Azumarill - and it wasn't a bright apple-green anymore.  Still shiny, of course, but -

Rin dropped down next to the Pokemon and held out one hand gently, smiling.  "She's still beautiful,"  she declared, even as Yuugo kept on staring as if he had never imagined such a thing could happen.  "Looks like she got ripe?"  She teased him.  More than once people had likened her hair to an apple.  She didn't think it was worth smacking them about.

Yuugo swallowed.  "Rin-Rin's yellow now?"  He whispered before he shook his head and dropped down next to Rin, hands held out for Rin-Rin.  "You're right,"  he agreed, that brilliant smile flickering strong and true..  "She is still gorgeous.  You're still gorgeous,"  he added, addressing Rin-Rin directly.

Rin glanced from Rin-Rin to Yuugo, a thought occurring to her.  "You know - I think Rin-Rin should get a new name."  Her eyes drifted to the slash of golden yellow on the top of Yuugo's head.  "She looks more like you than me now, after all."

He tilted his head up to look at her.  "Huh?  A new name?"

Rin nodded, grinning.  "What do you think of - Ringo?  Partly you, partly me?" 

Yuugo could and usually did look surprised at just about anything.  This was something else altogether.  His eyes lit up and he grabbed for Rin's hand, all but glowing in joy.  "Really?  You want to name Rin-Rin after me and you?"

"Of course.  What do you think, Ringo?"  Rin addressed the Pokemon that stood there, glancing at both of them.  At first the Pokemon didn't react, looking more than a little confused.  Then Yuugo spoke.

"I think Ringo's a pretty cool name.  But if you don't like it then that's okay, too."

Ringo chirped loudly and flung herself into Yuugo's arms, snuggling happily.  Yuugo gently stroked her, and Rin didn't think she'd ever seen him looking happier in all her life.

So, the final pre-release reveal of Duelist Nexus was Duelist Genesis, which made the Synchro series into a full blown archetype.

For unique Special Summons, currently only Rituals, and Links lack their own dedicated archetype. Links are fairly easy since they use the Katakana spelling, but Rituals use both the Kanji name (Gishiki), and Katakana spelling (Richuaru), which contains the Japanese name of Gishki archetype (Richua).

Currently, all Richuaru cards are also Richua cards,  so they are technically covered with the existing Gishki cards, but only in a hypothetical sense. (Thankfully the English database already recognizes them as part of the archetype, so nobody will be bamboozled.)

I don’t know if they will go Polymerization/Fusion route with these cards, or just use the Kanji name, since there are only two Richuaru Spell/Traps (Ritual Weapon, Ritual Buster), and everything else uses the Kanji name.

For Links, technically the word Link (Rinku), and Linker (Rinkaa) are spelled differently in Katakana, so this will be troubling in the localization, if we get support for “Link” monsters. But if it is just the Spell/Traps, then the issue will be avoided for a while. Otherwise, expect lots of errata.

Yuya’s skill, Fusion or Advent, also considers the word “Advent” for Rituals, since Odd-Eyes Advent uses the word. This is because early ARC-V considered Rituals as an advanced form of Tribute Summoning (Advance Summon in modern OCG), which is kinda sorta still a thing in ARC-V related stuff. Other “Advent” cards are unrelated to Rituals.

Speaking of Advance Summoning, that is also one Summoning type without a dedicated archetype, but it suffers from a similar issue to Rituals, because the older card text uses Tribute Summon, but the modern text uses Advance Summon, and Release for Tributing. So ehh. Advance/Tribute Summons will likely get their own support, since we got tons of recent Tribute Summon support, and we are getting even more stuff, including the recent event exclusive skill for GX Legacy Duels, which allow you to Tribute Summon in addition to your regular Normal Summon. So Konami, much like what they did in ARC-V, wants you to accept this as a different, dedicated form of Summoning.

I don’t expect anything from Main Deck Special Summons, since it would require TCG to finally update to the OCG standard, and a lot of fanboys will be groan about it, despite clearly being the superior, more readable form (which is not always true for Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh!, surprisingly enough, localization can sometimes be superior). Also, they have a similar situation to other classic Summoning methods (Katakana Spelling, Speshiaru, and Kanji Spelling, Tokushu, are both used.) But there are no cards with Tokushu in their names that are related to Main Deck Special Summons, and there is only one card name with Speshiaru in their name that is related to Special Summons, Special Hurricane, and it is an Anti-Support.

Don’t get me started on the advanced forms of each Summoning methods (Gattai/Combination Summon, Contact Yuugo/Contact Fusion, Accel Synchro, Delta Accel Synchro, Limit Over Accel Synchro, Dark Synchro, Chaos Xyz, Reincarnation Link etc.) Contact Fusions are likely to get their own archetype, though there are “Contact” cards unrelated to Contact Fusions, but rest will likely take decades to get their own archetype, since they are kind of limited (except Chaos Xyz, which already has two archetypes, and Xyz Evolution has the Rank-Up-Magic/Rank-Down-Magic archetypes, but both might be expanded I guess).

Also don’t get me started on common naming patterns for some Summoning methods like Oaths, and Contracts for Rituals. We already discussed the word Advent. That should be enough.

Yugioh Arc-V: Run like the clouds(working title)

Summary: In Maiami city there are two types of people, the ones who follow their fate, and the ones who carve their own. Being a turbo duelist has been Yuugo's biggest dream, not even being unable to ride a duel runner has crushed his dreams. If anything, it's only strengthened it. Wasn't trying to make this story all about Yuugo but it kinda ended up that way. Oh well! Anyways i make this is a simple i was imagining if i animated a come back or something next at yugioh vrains or idk how they called it just making the characters as a chibi's and if they do something that is a cute or like(Idk again) something they always do and then if they do it the anime voice actors two or one of them saying "YU-GI-OH! VRAINS!" or "INTO THE VRAINS!" i mean if they do it its gonna be the perfect idea ever! So i wanted to know if you agreed with my idea or not tell me in the comments!
