It's time to d-d-dress up!

Halloween is probably my favorite holiday. I really like horror and being scared. You could say I'm a thrill seeker. Anyway, enjoy this filler while I work on other stuff lol

Notes: Halloween is my favorite holiday. I wish I could do this for every fandom I write for, but that'd be too much for me right now, sadly. I'll probably do one or two more, but that's about it

❥Yugi Muto

You and Yugi would obviously go with a couples costume.

He would be the dark magician, and you would either be dark magician girl or celtic guardian (they get shipped the most with dark magcian)

You two probably wouldn't trick or treat, probably just party with your friends while helping grandpa hand out candy

Would kiss you as much as you were comfortable with, because you just look so pretty/handsome to him

He's also grateful that you decided to match with him this year

Takes a shit ton of selfies to remember this moment and to post on his story/social media

Before Halloween, he probably would have spent all of October decorating the shop with you

Would absolutely want to make certain cut out cookies with you, he thinks the ghost ones are cute

Very wholesome Halloween. 100/10.

You already know mans isn't original with Halloween costume ideas

He'd go as an Egyptian Pharaoh and would like it if you went as his queen/king, though he wont force you

He wont know what Halloween is about until you tell him, he's just a confused old man lol

He would love being in Pharaoh-like clothing again after so long. He'd proably try tanning the entirity of October, then be confused when there isn't much of a difference.

Help him, he's trying his best lol

Would also help you decorate if you asked, but he'd be asking questions non stop about the meaning of lights and window stickers. He doesn't take "tradition" or "it's fun" as an answer lol

A little annoying, but still wholesome. 8/10.

❥Seto Kaiba

Seto isn't crazy about Halloween. It's six days after his birthday, that's the only way he remembers the holiday exists every year.

Because he's not crazy about the holiday, he hasn't dressed up for it since his parents were alive

Mokuba still dresses up, and he tries his hardest to get Seto to as well, but it just never happens. You're not an exception, unfortunately

Unless you get a blue eyes white dragon onesie.

He'll go as himself then, and you're his trusty dragon

Otherwise, he won't care about dressing up and will let you go as whatever, so long as its outside of the scandalous range. He's very much in the public eye, remember? He's also a raging virgin, so leave the risque costumes for private time

He'll probably especially enjoy it if you tell him it doubles as a birthday present

Either very funny or very boring. 5/10.

❥Joey Wheeler

He'd probably be the cheesiest motherfucker out of them all

Would definitely have you two go as matching vampires or werewolves

He has such a generic look on horror and monsters in general

Dude you literally play duel monsters, there's more than just vampires and werewolves-

Would buy cheap fake blood that ends up staining your skin for a week after.

It would also strangely taste like apples?

You should probably go to a hospital after the party

Halloween with Joey is accidentally lethal. My kind of party. 10/10.

❥Marik Ishtar

Dude I have no fucking idea what he'd be, and therefore neither would he lol

He has 0 creativity when it comes to this, so usually he'll turn to you for costume ideas

Would also be like Joey with the cheesy, overdone costumes

I can really only see him being werewolf and you being little red riding hood

He'd probably get a kick out of that, in multiple ways...

Marik doesn't understand Halloween decorations, but if it makes you happy, he guesses he'll help you put stuff up

Absolutely sneaks candy for himself though

Pretty average Halloween. 5/10.

❥Yami Marik

Absolutely a vampire. No. Shh. Shut up. I am taking ZERO criticism on this one.

He takes it all the way. He's basically a blond, Egyptian dracula lol

He'll probably have you not dress up so he can be the vampire that corrupts you

He takes it a little too far, biting your neck with his fake fangs in

He also sprays fake blood on himself and everywhere else, but you're not entirely sure it's fake blood...

Like Marik, he also sneaks candy for himself, but very openly. He knows you can't do anything to him anyways

Yami Marik will help you put up decorations once he learns just how spooky Halloween is supposed to be

If you were hoping for a cuter Halloween, where children weren't afraid of approaching your house, then kick Yami Marik out until Halloween is over lol

Terrifying Halloween, but a great 'afterparty.' 7/10.

I headcanon Kaiba having this cute, yet very unsettling/frightening yawn.

No one sees, except for Mokuba, and when Joey or Yugi asks Mokuba how Kaiba yawns. Kaiba just gives the trauma of them seeing him yawn happening infront them in one of their geek group gatherings.

Which scares both Joey and Yugi respectfully.

Kaiba's mouth has never been so big when he yawns. Its like those cat yawns.

Silly little thing of my Rival Kaiba time travels fic

It wasn't intended to be a time traveling machine.

Seto sighed, yet again. His leather suit felt stiff now that he wasn't in the pod again. He's standing at carpeted floor- colorful with drawings of cute monsters on them- a playground of some sort. He knew this place- years back, this place looks exactly like this.

He did not intend it to be a time-traveling adventure.

Eyes twitching, he felt so ashamed of himself because he just got to fail like this. Of course, the Quantum Cube was still very unstable since the first time he used it- and Yugi had scolded him multiple times about it, but he couldn't help it. He was curious of the possibility of the other dimensions.

It was for science. It was supposed to be just for research. He promised himself and everyone to not ever use it again to cross dimensions and risked his life. He was just going to take little peeks to other worlds and gain new knowledge, new stuff to take notes about.

Certainly he did not expect time-traveling. At all.

And certainly he did not expect to end up in such familiar yet distant place.

"Um, y-you-"

Another twitch to his eye, oh God. His voice sounded so small. He remembers that was how he sounded, back then. He sounded so scared too. What face was he making? He knew for sure he did not look pleasant right now- he's starting to form a migraine- he must be frowning, because this is such a mess.

Truly, this wasn't his intention at all. Truly, he did not mean to meet him of all people-

"Are you- Kaiba?"

Seto closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. Should he just lie? Honestly that might be even more unbelievable, considering the way he's standing right in front of him like this, with his full dimension-travel suit all geared up. And besides, he believed he didn't change much across the years- It would be even more believable to just say the truth.

Took another sigh.

Finally, Seto opens his eyes and turns to look at him.

Purple eyes, as big as ever, working apron that always be a size too big. Mouth agape like he hardly believes it, hands clenched in front of his shirt as if to ground himself from the shock. Hair still as wild and maybe wilder.

It was Yugi, alright.

Only about six years younger- or so.

And this gaudy carpeted floor was definitely Kame Game Shop's little playground before they renovated it to be more tech-friendly.

In other words, damn.

"...Yes. I am. Kaiba Seto. As you know it."

Calm down, Kaiba. Seto told himself, over and over. The ear piece he wore that's supposed to let him hear Mokuba or Yugi- his Yugi- or whoever it was in the control room- was entirely silent. Of course, they were six years apart now. Damn.

"Kaiba..." teen Yugi marveled at him, "...You look different- I mean, uh- Cool outfit!"

"...Thanks."

Did this Yugi not realize that he's significantly older? His Yugi did say he got a baby face, but- really?

"Are you- Really Kaiba?"

What do you think? Seto wanted to say, snipily- but held it back. This Yugi didn't know anything. And they both knew their heated rivalry era- Not that they aren't Rivals now- But 5 to 6 years ago... it was a crazy period of time for both of them.

Certainly this Yugi wouldn't expect to date his rival 6 years to the future now, would he?

"Yes," Seto decided to say the truth. He knew Yugi had to endure a lot crazier thing in his daily life, he assumed time traveling wouldn't be an issue? Maybe. "I'm the Kaiba from another world. There are many similar worlds out there. I am from one of them. I am not the Kaiba Seto you know."

I finished rewatching season 1 of Yu-Gi-Oh. My redemption arc is 1/5 complete. (I have to watch the dub because I don't wanna support Crunchyroll and I don't know where else to watch the sub)

My main thoughts are about voice acting since of all the arcs, Duelist Kingdom and Domino City side stories make me the least angry.

So to start off, a comparison between Dub and Sub acting and which voice I like more as of now.

Yami: His sub voice in season 1 is honestly so cute. He just sounds like he's having a constant blast.

His dub voice on the other hand, sounds so hot 🥵. And Dub Yami is what's keeping me from doing drugs.

Overall, I like both a lot. I do however think Dan just makes the character.

Little Yugi: similar thing as Yami, only his dub voice doesn't sound hot. Just cute. I love both voices and honestly can't pick between them.

Joey Wheeler: I like his dub voice more. That's where the personality is. His sub voice just sounds generic.

Tristan: For the first few episodes of the dub, Tristan has this really stupid voice that I just don't like, so for that alone I like his sub voice more.

But then from the Rex duel and onward it's Greg Abby, and then I like both his sub and dub voice.

Téa: I think I prefer her sub voice. Just a little less grating. (I still love you Téa)

Ryou: He sounds like Gachapoid in the sub 🥺. I love Gachapoid!

His british accent tho 😩

Yami Bakura: Gachapoid doesn't suit him unfortunately. I like his dub voice more.

Pegasus: stunning. Both of them. The performance is impeccable. But Dub Pegasus never said "Jesus Christ".

Seto Kaiba: a hard one. In the sub he screams so much, but in the dub he doesn't sound like he's one insult away from killing himself... I can't decide.

Mokuba: they both sound the same.

Mai: I think I prefer dub. Just sounds deeper idk.

Weevil: I love him and his voices.

Rex: I prefer his sub voice. Just less grating and he doesn't sound like he has bronchitis.

Everyone else: meh. Could go either way.

Now to talk about the characters, and if I relearned anything:

Téa's friendship speeches are so sweet and cheesey I can't believe people don't like them. She is always there for her friends and clearly cares so much. I will never forgive Téa bashers for what they did to her during the great Yaoi Revolution.

Joey isn't as stupid as I remember him being, just a beginner at Duel Monsters. Nothing wrong with that. He's trying. His utter determination to get that money for his sister's operation is seriously so heart warming. I love whenever he says "Time roulette go!"

Tristan threw a dead body at Satan. And grabbed Ryou's leg while climbing the tower because he was getting impatient.

Yugi being uncertain of Yami until the Bakura duel is crazy. Like he wasn't even having memory issues. Bro huh? He's also so supportive! Like baby boy was the one to suggest he and Yami fight PaniK for Mai. He told Yami not to attack Kaiba and send him falling to his death. He gave Joey Time Wizard! Yugi is a bro.

Yami is such a good friend. Helping Joey out with duels, got Mai her star chips back, freed both Mokuba and Kaiba's souls because Mokuba asked, tried getting pink shirt his star chips back, and never believing that Joey couldn't duel by himself.

Ryou was, certainly there. Honestly his impact doesn't really matter. He just explains Duel Monsters to Tristan and Téa whenever Yugi is dueling. His first appearance isn't even that impressive because instead of killing himself to save everyone like in the manga, Yami switches the places of Ryou and Yami Bakura. So even if he tries to help, someone else always helps way more.

Yami Bakura is so hot. I'd suck his dick if he asked. I also just love how his deck can not only do tarot readings, but is also really annoying to go up against. Like boy had 3 morphing jars, an electric lizard, a man eater bug, and change of heart. Those cards were fucking devastating back in the day. He also would have won that duel if he used Just Desserts one turn later, but oh well. Why did he lick the millennium eye tho? I get the tarot reading, but why did he lick the eye?

Mokuba. Oh sweet Mokuba. He just wants to help his brother, but he suffers so much.

Kaiba is awesome. He hacks into Industrial Illusions and causes a satellite to crash into an office. Killing people. He helps Yami win a duel. He rips a Blue Eyes. He annihilates with Crush Card Virus. My man uses Saggi the Dark Clown. His devotion to rescuing Mokuba is amazing and is really what has me start caring for him when I first watched the series 5 years ago. His comebacks and sheer distaste for the Yugi gang are fun and amazing to watch.

Pegasus, the star of season 1. He's in my top 5 favorite characters list. I absolutely love eccentric villains, especially when they love cartoons and are actually threatening. Pegasus is a beast. If we ignore his millennium eye for now, he's a fantastic and fun duelist! His deck is interesting and entertaining to watch, neither of his duels were boring, and the man is so funny. "Do I spin it like a top, or roll it like a ball!" I love him. He's also (so far) the only villain I feel genuine empathy towards. Y'all, I'm a sap. If a villain's reason is being evil because they lost their Significant other than I'm sorry I'm crying. My poor guy.

Grandpa: he trained Joey and Yugi, he gave Yugi his deck, he appeared in dream sequences to help Yugi beat his opponents, and he gave Yugi the puzzle. If this man didn't exist, Yu-Gi-Oh wouldn't happen.

Duke Devlin: I forgot how much I hated him when I first watched his dumbass Dungeon Dice Monster 4 episode showdown. He's so fucking mean.

Rebecca: not much to say other than I like her.

The duels:

Seto vs Yami (first duel of the series): a fantastic way to start off the series. Kaiba finds out Yugi's grandpa has the Blue Eyes White Dragon card he's been searching for, he steals it, rips it, and Yugi challenges him to a duel.

Yami takes control and is surprised by Kaiba's duel arena having the ability to make life-like holograms of the monsters on the cards.

The duel begins and for the entire thing, it's honestly pretty equal. Yami summons a monster, Kaiba destroys it. Kaiba summons a monster, Yami destroys it.

It's a back and forth kind of deal until Kaiba pulls out his own Blue Eyes White Dragon card, shocking Yami. He surprises Yami again by summoning another Blue Eyes, but then gets hit with swords of revealing light.

Kaiba summons Judge Man, and it gets Destroyed by the Dark Magician.

During this, Yugi is having his doubts about winning because of Kaiba's Blue Eyes and can't seem to draw cards. Especially when Kaiba summons his third Blue Eyes White Dragon and destroys the Dark Magician.

This leads into Yami and Yugi having an inter monologue with Grandpa about Exodia. How Exodia is split into pieces. Pieces like a puzzle.

Yami gains the courage to draw and he gets all five pieces of Exodia! Instantly winning the duel!

Kaiba is then given a mind crush and starts to question all his life choices.

Rex vs Weevil (half a duel): in this not really a duel, we are introduced to two characters. Since they have names they are obviously important to the plot.

The duel starts with Rex summoning King Rex and instantly getting vortexed. Then Weevil summons his Basic Insect and equips it with Insect Lazer Cannon. This lets him wipe out all of Rex's Life Points.

Weevil is then named Regional Champion, and Rex is the runner up.

Yugi vs Pegasus (second real duel): this is where we are introduced to Pegasus as a villain.

He makes Yugi duel him on a 15 min time lock.

During this duel, Pegasus is cheating. Not just with his millennium eye, but he's sending subliminal messages to Yami. It's not mentioned in the dub, but it still happens.

Yami finds out that duel monsters was created in ancient Egypt and Pegasus starts talking up a storm so he can waste time.

Pegasus wins the duel due to the time limit and steals Grandpa's soul.

Weevil vs Yami (the third duel): This duel was initiated because Weevil decided to be a little dick and threw Exodia off the ship to Duelist Kingdom.

Yami bets his deck and star chip, Weevil bets both his star chips.

The duel begins, and we find out about field power bonuses. Insects get lower from the forest, warriors get theirs from the meadow, dragons and winged beasts get theirs from the mountains, zombies get them from the wastelands, and fiends get theirs during night time.

Unfortunately, Yami doesn't get many bonuses.

During the duel, Weevil summons a full board of monsters. He gets mirror forced.

Then he plays his Petite Moth and Cocoon of Evolution combo. He gets Burning Landed.

He then summons his Great Moth. He gets Makiyued and Summoned Skulled.

This is a simple explanation of what happened, but Yami wasn't met without struggle.

A lot of his monsters that he summoned got destroyed. They usually only lasted one turn.

Anyways, Yami won and has three star chips. Joey steals Weevil's dueling glove.

Joey vs Mai (Duel 4): this is Joey's first duel! Hooray!

He doesn't understand that his land monsters can't attack flying monsters, and gets demolished.

Mai adds several equip spells and uses Elegant Egotist to multiply her Harpie lady card.

Joey finds out Mai is cheating with perfume.

Joey then summons Baby Dragon and the Time Wizard and uses them to win the duel.

He got a star chip and his first rival!

Mako vs Yami (duel 5): Yami duels Mako Tsunami.

Mako's monsters are in the water and can't be attacked.

Yami attacks the moon and then uses his Burning Land card.

Yami wins

Mokuba vs Yami (half duel): Mokuba is trying to keep Yami from dueling Pegasus because he wants to save his brother's company.

He loses the duel.

Yami vs Ghost Kaiba (duel 6): Kaiba jumped off a cliff and died. Now his ghost is dueling Yami.

He's psychology tormenting everyone except Tristan. Mokuba quickly became distraught.

Ghost Kaiba summons his Blue Eyes one at a time, and they all get destroyed.

The first one is destroyed by the real Kaiba because OH MY! He ain't dead! That's just some fat ass pretending to be Kaiba! (Or he's Kaiba's dark half)

The second Blue Eyes gets destroyed because Yami summoned Mystical Elf and Raised the Attack points of the Blue eyes he stole from the graveyard.

Yami wins the duel!

Mokuba got rekidnapped tho.

Joey vs Rex (duel 7): Rex is dueling Joey because he wants to duel Mai, but Mai will only duel him if he beats Joey.

Joey again gets his ass beat and is saved by Time Wizard.

His spoils are some chips and the Red Eyes Black Dragon!!!!

Yami Bakura vs Yami (duel 8): in this duel we are introduced to two new characters. Ryou Bakura and Yami Bakura.

Before the duel, the gang and Ryou are talking about their favorite cards (important). Then Ryou challenges Yugi to a duel, Yami Bakura appears, takes them to the Shadow Realm, puts the squads souls in their favorite cards, then tries to steal the puzzle.

Yami challenges Yami Bakura to a duel and when he summons the Cyber Commander, he finds out that all of his have had their souls placed inside their favorite cards.

Tristan dies to the white magical hat or some shit and Joey Flame Swordsman gets summoned. Then Tristan Cyber Commander gets resurrected, then Yugi Dark Magician gets summoned, then Téa Magician of Faith gets places face down. (She's a flip monster)

Throughout this whole ass duel Yami and the gang are getting their ass handed to them.

Yami gets Morphing Jared like 3 times, had Man Eater Bug eat Joey, had Just Desserts taking life points from him, and Yami Bakura was looking at him like

(𓁹‿ 𓁹)

The whole time.

Anyway, Yami Bakura plays the Change of Heart card and we get to see Ryou in a dress.

We get to see Ryou in another dress because he betrays Yami Bakura and takes control of his Lady of Faith and tells Yugi to attack him.

Yami then thinks about how Yami Bakura took the souls of his friends out of their bodies and put them in the cards and then wonders if he can do the same. He can he does.

We then see Yami Bakura in a dress but he doesn't slay as hard as Ryou.

Yami Bakura is defeated but he took a page out of William Afton's book because he comes back instantly.

Yami vs PaniK (duel 9): This duel starts immediately after Mai gets defeated by PaniK.

Yugi calls this fucking giant of a man a bully, PaniK tries to kill him with fire, and the duel starts.

PaniK is hiding in the dark and Yami calls him a pussy multiple times.

PaniK sure is a duelist. He loses his temper easily and doesn't think about the opponent's strategy. This Leads his Reaper of The Cards to get caught in a Magic Circle (I can't remember the name) and destroyed by his monster.

PaniK gets Swords of Revealing Lighted and his Castle of Dark Illusions has its floatation ring knocked off. His monsters get destroyed and he loses.

Mai got her star chips back :D

Joey vs Kaiba (duel 10? Does this one even count?): the entire duel is Joey getting annihilated. He loses. Badly.

And Kaiba gets insulted.

Joey vs Bonz (duel 11): This duel happened because Joey got kidnapped.

We also get introduced to Bonz, Sid, Zygor, and Bandit Keith.

Bandit Keith used to be the intercontinental champion, and he hates Pegasus.

Bonz is just a little guy who doesn't really like Bandit Keith, but he wants to duel with his zombie cards. Keith is helping him out. So they just gotta work together.

Sid and Zygor are Bonz's friends. They're just kinda there.

During this duel, they are in a cave and Joey is getting scared because Bonz is ugly (no he's not 😤) and zombies are spooky.

Joey is managing pretty alright for the first half because Keith keeps making Bonz play not zombies and they keep getting destroyed.

However, Keith wanted this. Because he put a Call of the Haunted in Bonz's deck. This means that Bonz can bring his monsters back from the graveyard as zombies, they're indestructible, get stronger each time they come back, and they keep destroying Joey's monsters.

Bonz then summons his Pumpking and makes his zombies stronger, but it gets destroyed by the Red Eyes Black Dragon.

Then Red Eyes gets destroyed by ways I don't remember.

Now all Joey has left is his Battle Warrior and Sword and Shield.

He summons Battle Warrior , uses Sword and Shield, wins the duel!

The Yugi gang are now trapped in a cave and Bonz and his friends get their shit rocked by Bandit Keith.

Joey and Yami vs the Paradox brothers (duel 12): Ryou leads the gang here.

We meet the Paradox brothers. A pair of eccentric twins who can't shut up and keep rhyming.

The duel is a tag duel. Meaning they take turns, if one opponent loses all of their life points that team loses, and they can help each other out.

The duel is in a maze. Each card can move up a space for as many levels as it is.

Beaver Warrior gets destroyed instantly by the Wall Shadow, which gets destroyed by KUNAI WITH CHAIN.

Some other shit happen, Yami and Joey gotta face some tank and a worm and spider.

Don't know what happened to the tank, the spider got stabbed with Mystic Box, and the worm had something something Magical Hats.

Gate Guardian is a thing and Yami says it's in the class of Exodia even tho it's not an instant win. (Shout out Gate Guardian for getting support 😔✊)

Yami and Joey won the duel with Black Skull Dragon and make it out of the maze with some coins.

Yami vs Kaiba ( Duel 13): this duel starts after Pegasus told Kaiba that dueling him was a privilege, not a right.

Yami and Kaiba duel with the new Duel Disk system. They're using the advanced rules, that's why it's one monster at a time.

With the duel system, you can recall your monsters and replace them with a different one.

Yami falls for the Crush Card Virus trap and can now only use weak monsters.

He makes his Kuriboh wall, and Kaiba summons his Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon to try and get past it. He doesn't.

Yami then uses his stupid fucking arrow card that I can never remember the name of because it's so stupid and dumb to fuse his Mammoth Graveyard to the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

The dragon starts to decay, Kaiba has a panic attack and threatens to kill himself, Yami says "Bet", Yugi stops him, Kaiba wins.

Téa vs Mai ( duel 14): Téa wants to get Yugi his star chips back and challenges Mai to a duel.

During this duel Téa summons a bunch of wimpy cards like Petite Angel and most of them get destroyed by Mai's Harpie Lady.

Mai has a bunch of equip spells on her Harpie and Téa Wabokued her once.

Shining Friendship gets summoned, gets an equip spell, and Téa activates De-spell to remove Mai's equips.

Mai surrenders and Téa gives Yugi some chips.

Pegasus vs Kaiba (duel 15): in this duel Kaiba is trying to get his brother back.

Kaiba tries to get Pegasus to use his new Duel Disk system, but it doesn't go well.

The duel begins and Kaiba destroys some of Pegasus's monsters, but then Pegasus steals a Blue eyes and turns it into an Ugly Ass Toon.

Kaiba starts losing.

We learn that toon monsters are hard to destroy because they hide in a book.

Also Kaiba falls for his own Crush Card Virus trap and loses.

Mai vs Yami (duel 16): I'm pretty sure Yami was originally being sexist, but I watched the dub so Yugi is the one actually doing most of the dueling here. He doesn't want Mai getting hurt.

Yugi and Yami keep falling for the stupid Mirror Wall thing and their monsters keep getting wrecked.

Then we see Harpies Pet Dragon.

Yugi Mind Controls it and puts it on a catapult to destroy the Mirror Wall (shit looked epic).

Harpies Pet Dragon comes back and we get three Harpie Ladies.

Yugi let's Yami help and they do the Black Luster Soldier ritual and win.

Joey vs Bandit Keith (duel 17): I love this duel.

Joey gets his entry card stolen and Mai gives him hers, so wholesome.

During the duel Joey is fucking shit up. He's doing so good.

Then Keith starts cheating. But Joey prevails.

He uses trap hole, kunai with chain, time wizard, baby dragon, red eyes black metal dragon, and time machine!

Bandit Keith is using Machines and everyone is wondering why. Like bro, machines are a good monster type with a lotta cards.

Anyway Keith is pulling cards out of his wrist band, tries to use Shield and Sword to wipe out Joey, it doesn't work, Keith loses.

Then Keith tries to say that Joey didn't use his own tournament entry card, but Joey shuts that down

Then Keith gets accused of cheating and is sent falling to not at all death.

Yami vs Joey (duel 18): we have to sit through a long ass montage.

Joey throws some cards away, Yami wonders why.

Yami falls for a few traps, then Joey falls for some traps, this whole time Ryou is explaining the birth of the universe to Téa while Tristan kinda stares off into space.

Joey uses his last Time Wizard of the season to bring out his Thousand Dragon, but Yami planned this.

Yami's Dark Magician has become the Dark Sage and he uses Makiyu to stop Joey's attack and wipe out Joey's life points.

Yami wins and I cried the first time I saw this duel.

Pegasus vs Yami (duel 19): the final duel of the arc.

Pegasus tells Yami that if he wins he gets whatever he wants, but if Pegasus wins he gets his soul and the puzzle.

Yami says he wants Mokuba, Kaiba, and Grandpa's souls to be released and Pegasus says "Damn I thought you hated Kaiba", but Yami just doing that for Mokuba.

The duel starts, and Yami is immediately having trouble. He can't destroy the rooms and the Gorgon's Eye is keeping him from defending.

Pegasus also turned Summoned Skull into a toon and it's being creepy.

Yami keeps getting his mind read and Yugi comes in like "what if we switch places?" And Yami says they should.

This gives Pegasus some trouble. It gives him so much trouble that the toon world gets destroyed and he takes the duel to the Shadow Realm.

Yugi dies.

The Yugi gang feel this and send him some good vibes.

This means Pegasus still can't read Yami's mind.

Pegasus does some shit with Relinquish and Yami tries his Kuriboh stunt and his Magician of Black Chaos is there.

Yami wins and gets the souls back.

Pegasus does like 10 minutes later.

Other shit that happened that was interesting/Important:

During the Pegasus and Yami duel, Tristan and Yami Bakura go off on an adventure to find Mokuba's body. This leads to the ring getting thrown in the forest.

The ring goes back to Ryou because love or something.

In the sub Mai offered Rex anything he wanted during their first encounter. This was changed in the dub.

We still don't know how Ryou snuck in the ship to Duelist Kingdom.

Shadi doesn't even try to find Yami Bakura. He just goes to one person (Yugi) and gives up.

I'll never forgive 4kids for editing out Yami Bakura sexily licking the Millennium Eye.

If Joey had a Magic Jammer he would have won his duel with Yami.

Domino City side stories:

Rebecca's cool. I like her.

Rebecca vs Yami (duel 20): this duel happened because Grandpa got accused of stealing Rebecca's Blue Eyes White Dragon card.

Rebecca's strategy is also pretty good for the time. Her deck is centered around milling cards to power up her Shadow Goul, and she uses cards like Witch of the Black Forest and Sangan to do this.

During the duel Grandpa is having flashbacks because he had a duel go exactly like this. We find out Rebecca is the granddaughter of Grandpa's friend, Arthur.

Yugi drew Soul Release, but didn't use it because... I don't know. We find out that's how the duel between Arthur and Grandpa ended.

Arthur appears, says some shit, and we never see Rebecca again.

That dumbass game thing:

I wasn't paying attention to this because there weren't any actual duels and I didn't like this part.

Duke Devlin:

This bitch really gonna say Yugi cheats in his duels and steal all the girls. Bro.

Duke vs Joey (duel 21): Joey almost wins, But Duke does an ass pull and wins at 50 life points.

Duke vs Yami (Dungeon Dice Monsters): Duke doesn't explain shit because Yami is King Of Games and should know how to play a game he's never heard of.

Duke makes fun of Yami for not knowing how to play the game he never explained, gets angry when Yami figures stuff out, and is just an ass this whole game.

I wasn't really paying attention, until shit actually started to happen because there was just a whole lotta nothing.

Eventually both players have monsters on the field, some are doing magic, others are just standing there.

Orgoth the Relentless is certainly a thing. He gets beat by the Dark Magician.

Yami wins.

Other thoughts on the Domino City stories:

I laughed when Joey told Duke "I like ya game, just not you."

More characters gotta duel like Rebecca.

The existence of Adina is weird. If Kaiba made her, ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ. If the Big Five Made her, then fine I get it. Mokuba is like a damsel in distress. I just don't like it.

I hope you enjoy this long ass wall of text. My redemption is going steady. I have noticed no change other than being slightly more unhinged.

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

Oh geez, I love my Joey boy so much, honestly. One thing that I think is really great, and I know I've seen other people mention this before, is just how real he feels. His characters is so multifaceted and goes through so much development, and he just feels like such a real dude.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Just, everything? He has certified golden retriever energy with his deep love and loyalties, and it's one of the best things about him.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?

I do get annoyed by some of his more obnoxious behavior, and sometimes he's downright embarrassing, but that comes with the territory of being a teenager.

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I do think seeing Joey as a random bystander in a Marvel movie would be a good giggle.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

Ship songs aside, the first song I could come up with was Hall of Fame by Gym Class Heroes. Boy knows what wants. Being at the top, right up there with Kaiba and Yugi, is his repeated goal throughout the series.

6. What's something you have in common with this character?

Brooklyn roots, going by the dub. My grandfather was born there, lived most of his life there. The other thing we have in common is being not on speaking terms with our mothers. 🥰

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

The fandom never lets us forget where Joey started: violent, street-tough bully trying to scrape a life together basically on his own. As much as I love cute happy Joey chilling with the scapegoats and his pals, it would be such a disservice to forget where he came from.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I actually can't think of anything? I think the fandom generally treats Joey well.

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

That's actually a tough question. Depends on how good he is about cleaning up after himself. I think we could probably with something out though, a deal that involves trading chores for meals.

10. Could you be best friends with this character?

Probably, but I'd probably be at least half as naggy as Tea is with him. The "omg Joey use a napkin boi" kind of nagging, but I think he'd fit right in and we could tease and be goofy.

11. Would you date this character?

I'm married, so the safe answer is no lol

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Boy had to get good at taking care of himself, so he shops deals and coupons and plans his meals around those, even when he's more financially secure. It's an ingrained habit.

13. What's an emoji, an emoticon and/or any symbol that reminds you of this character or you think the character would use a lot?

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

90s punk/grunge he could so rock that

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

Aw, I can only pick one? If I had to go based off of the Joey ships I've written, it would be Puppyshipping, but I think Puffshipping is crazy precious. And I can't shut up about Polarshipping anytime he and Mai are in a scene together, their chemistry is too good. So those are my top three. There's so many good Joey ships though!!!

16. What's your least favorite ship for this character?

I don't know that I have one? Not as far as popular ships go. I'm not big into Riskshipping, I can only see it as being unhealthy even with Mokuba aged up. (Irateshipping and Fadeshipping aren't necessarily healthy either, but they're very fascinating.)

17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?

So, on the DM shipping list is Babbleshipping, which is Joey x Kisara, which I just can't imagine working (and I've never seen any fanworks for it either), but I also find the idea of Joey swooping in as Mr. Steal Your Dragon Girlfriend from Kaiba kinda hilarious.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

Joey's got a lot of great pals, but I think Tristan is just such a solid bro to him throughout the whole show (except for hitting on Serenity which is still so weird to me cause she's 12). But the advice he was giving him in Season Four regarding Mai was honestly solid advice: "give up on her, man, you're just going to get hurt if you keep going like this." It's just too sweet. Joey doesn't listen to him ofc because this boy never gives up.

19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?

Obviously I wish he had a better relationship with his dad, but it's Yugioh: good dads aren't allowed.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

I think Duke is actually a godd logical, grounding, down to earth presence for Joey to be around. Duke is not afraid to call him on his crap, and I can just see then getting along pretty well, esp once Joey's matured just a little bit more.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

I appreciate when people write him with the accent, even if it's only slightly. It's just a fun detail imo. I appreciate the details people create to fill in his exact background as a fighter and how he lives and stuff. The attention to detail with the roots of who he is as a person.

23. Favorite picture of this character?

The first thing that popped into my mind is a fanart of his previous small smile, but I assume this is asking for canon images, so... Just look how happy and cool he is!!!!! And his Lord of Red appearance is just too heckin cool for me to not include.

24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?

I think Ashe Duran from FE3H would be able to relate to him with their roots in poverty and both changing (Joey from a bully and Ashe from a thief) into becoming the best, most noble versions of themselves that they can be. They have the sweetest smiles and would do anything to protect their little siblings.

Rock from Nanbaka is a little similar I guess, but Rock comes from money and has a much more refined palette when it comes to food. Rock was still a gang member though, just like Joey, and they both think with their stomachs and are still brawlers. Also literally delinquents.

If I had to compare him to someone in UtaPri, I'd say he's got the same mischief vibes as Reiji, but the better match is the happy sunshine child Otoya Ittoki who's been through a lot and had a rough childhood but won't let it get him down. The future is full of opportunity for these boys.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

Oh geez, let me think back to twelve year old me... I really can't recall. I remember one of my first impressions in fandom was rejecting puppyshipping, partly just because it was popular, and then the more I learned about the characters separately, the more it compelled me, but that's another story.

My impression of him now? I love this man, he is a beacon of love and loyalty and getting better, which is a good example that all of us need sometimes honestly.

26. FREEBIE QUESTION!!

GUYS I KNOW SEASON FOUR HAD ISSUES BUT IT DID GOOD STUFF FOR JOEY. IT GAVE US HERMOS. IT GAVE US ATLANTIS JOEY. JOEY IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS YUGI AND KAIBA IN A METAPHYSICAL SENSE. HE'S JUST AS MUCH OF A HERO THAT SAVED THE WORLD. HE'S NOT "JUST JOEY." HE IS JOEY FUCKING WHEELER, AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT.

Seriously though, imagine how validated that made Joey feel? Surrounded by shadow magic and "chosen ones" and all this talk of reincarnation and destiny, and he thinks he's just along for the ride until wham! No bitch, you're special too! That's gotta warm his heart and make him smile, even after bad days working shitty jobs, or getting second place at a tournament. He's a legendary knight, his soul is tied to the Spirit World just as strongly as Yugi and Kaiba. He'll never lose his confidence ever again as long as he remembers that.

Also, I love the idea of him having all daughters. He's going to spoil them and be so crazy protective of them. He will never let them think they're anything less than gorgeous. He will sit down to tea parties with the frilly princessy one and give fighting tips to the butch one and adore all of them and very publicly threaten their partners with bodily harm if you ever dare hurt his girls. Dad Joey makes me happy. ❤️

Watched a bunch of Disney movie this weekend and I had an idea

Crossover of Oliver & Company and The Aristocats with... PUPSHIP. Seto and Mokuba are well loved cats living in the lap of luxury with their CEO owner (Pegasus) in his Manhattan penthouse. But On the way to the airport for a trip overseas, Pegasus’ car gets in a serious accident caused by men hired by a rival business tycoon. Pegasus is rushed to the hospital, but in the chaos no one checks the wreckage after they find him and his driver. Leaving Seto and Mokuba alone (but relatively unharmed) in New York City. As penthouse cats, they’ve never been on the city streets before, let alone without their caretaker. Seto puts on a brave face for Mokuba, but no sooner have they gotten out of the overturned car does it start to rain. They find shelter in an alleyway amongst some garbage, and Mokuba wonders if they’ll ever get home.

The next morning they awake to rusting sounds nearby, and find a large dog with dirty gold fur with hair head in a nearby dumpster. He quickly notices that he has an audience, and introduces himself as Joey, “King of New York”. (Whether or not he has a musical number is up to you). Before Seto can stop him, Mokuba begs him to help them get home. Seto doesn’t trust Joey, but Joey recognizes that these are NOT city cats, and agrees to help them.

Adventures ensue, and Seto can’t help but warm to this charming street dog. He also encounters Joey’s other friends, Yugi, Atem, Tea and Tristan who are also strays in the city.

It’s ridiculous and cute lmao but I think it would make for a fun AU

I get so shy about asks...my last two (not you, different people) were never answered XD

anyway, I really love your writing! I just finished a 20 chapter fic about Kaiba (gradually and a little reluctantly) adopting Yugi because his grandpa died, and then Anzu dies (she's his GF in the story) so Yugi gets really sad and breaks down

I'm going to write a part 2, of basically Yugi going through therapy while living at Kaiba's house, could I PLEASE have some fluffy head canons of Kaiba and Yugi at the house while Yugi is experiencing depression? Basically he's suffering a bereavement overload (AKA he has trouble grieving for 2 people at a time)

Maybe just Kaiba..."trying" to be a dad, maybe Mokuba helped him with experience, but idk how that would go

I know you're busy, but if you have time, this would be rlly appreciated, and would help me a lot in writing my story!! thank you!

Well, given that I also lost three loved ones in my life, all in the same year, I can definitely empathize with the grief overload. I can say that some of the things my husband did to comfort me really helped. Even if they were small acts.

What if Kaiba found a sufficiently mind numbing game that they could both play to distract from the pain? (When I was grieving my husband and I played Borderlands 2 together.) What if Kaiba and Yugi played Kirby’s Epic Yarn, or Yoshi’s Woolly World, or Secret of Mana, or Pokémon. Games that are cute, and uplifting, and great two player games. And something where if Kaiba gets competative, as he does, it would be ridiculous and hilarious given how Cutesy the games are.

Or there could be moments where Kaiba brings Yugi a hot cocoa, with like ridiculous frills, mini marshmallows in color Star shapes, with whipped creme, and chocolate shavings, and little wafer cookies. Etc. Just such a rich person cup of cocoa. So incongruent with Kaiba’s uptight and grumpy demeanor.

You could have Kaiba cook him dinner, and totally botch it. Like accidentally cooking a meal that’s all potatoes. Mashed potatoes and french fries. Or a grilled cheese with a side of Mac and cheese. Ya know, just like silly things that are basically the same food twice, but Kaiba doesn’t think about it because he normally doesn’t cook food. Or maybe he cooks Yugi some dinosaur nuggets, and before Yugi can acknowledge the dinosaur shapes, he drowns them in molten gravy.

Kaiba could bring home a book. Something random. And just unprompted, start reading aloud from the book. Softly, with a tenderness so unlike his usual manner.

He could buy Yugi a nightlight. People who suffer from loss can often suffer from night terrors. Maybe the nightlight shines little Blue eyes white dragon shapes on the walls. Very on brand for Kaiba.

Maybe he buys Yugi a “Snuggy” the blanket with sleeves. Then grouses and mutters when Yugi doesn’t use the sleeves. But he sees Yugi use he blanket anyway and cocoon himself inside it.

Depression kinda makes you not want to do anything, especially grief depression, so Yugi might not be responsive during all these things. But it would be small feeble expressions, or subdued body language that would show Kaiba the things he’s doing affect Yugi.

Anyway, I hope the ideas help. Good luck on your Hurt/comfort fic. I’m sure it’ll be amazing. I think you got this.

Yugioh New Years Headcannons

Happy New Years! Here’s how you spend the New Years with some Yugioh Characters from Duel Monsters!

Seto Kaiba

He owns a company yk!

So he can’t stay at home cause he’s running the New Years celebration in the heart of Domino City

So you’re also working with him and Mokuba

Yeah it sucks but you get to see a bunch of famous musicians, singers, duelists and other important people

You guys are busy all night long that y’all hardly spend time together

Well that is until the countdown!

Seto finds you three minutes before the countdown starts and hold on tight

Ofc he gives you one of the best kisses ever

You think it’s him being cute a romantic until you see ads of a picture promoting his New Years Sales along with it being all over social media

Yeah he lowkey tricked you into the best spot to get pictures in

Hey, money waits for no one, at least you look good and got a banger kiss out of it!

Also ofc there were blue eyes white dragon fireworks

Joey Wheeler

He celebrates it with you and Serenity

You and Serenity cook and clean while Joey puts out the decorations

He’s so hype man it’s like dealing with a kid

He eventually calms down after seeing how tired everyone else is in the house and puts on the tv to watch for the countdown

You wanted to go to the countdown in person but Joey said that he’s had enough of Kaiba for the whole year so y’all stayed home

It was nice to snuggle up warm at home with family though so you didn’t mind

By the time the countdown came around Serenity was passed out and you almost were too

All you know was that you were woken up 10 seconds to and given a sweet kiss at New Years

Oh also, Serenity woke up at 5 seconds and caught a picture of you guys kissing

Yk for a fact that Joey was fighting Seto with his picture

Marik Ishtar

Mans first ever New Years above ground with his family

So ofc you celebrated it with the Ishtars

He was even more of A hyper kid than Joey because he never experienced this before

Did all stereotypical things plus more because it was his first one

The other Ishtars also helped and they were truly enjoying it and you were happy to be there for them

Accidentally let it slip about the kiss thing so now Marik’s even more hype for New Years

Falls asleep and has to get roughly awoken 5 minutes before New Years to be awake for it

Was fighting to go back to bed until you mentioned that he’ll miss the kiss and he was up like if he drank 5 Red Bulls

Couldn’t wait for New Years again

Gave you the most energetic kiss of your relationship so far at New Years

Ryou Bakura

Was planning to be alone and work on a project

You ofc was not having that

Yeah his family wasn’t there but you were and you were not gonna let your cream puff be sad!

You forced him to sleep since them eyebags were crazy and you wanted him to be awake for New Years

You lied to him saying that you weren’t gonna celebrate with him and that you’re just gonna chill

Ofc you cleaned, cooked, and decorated the place

Yk he was tired bad because he was knocked out even through the cooking and noise you made

You woke him up at 9pm to have him call his family and pay respects to Amane

He was so grateful to you and felt so loved that he started crying

Took a while to stop him as you freaked out a bit first before going to help

After calling and paying respects you guys settled down, ate and watched the countdown on TV

And at New Years enjoyed a nice sweet kiss ready to go into the New Years happily!

Yugi Mutou

He closed up the game shack early with gramps that day to spend it with you

Y’all cooked, cleaned and decorated early in the day and very fast

Then y’all slept in until 10pm and headed to the countdown celebration that Seto invited y’all to

Ofc Yugi dueled and entertained the crowd along with many others

After his piece though he went straight to you and cuddled cause waiting for the New Year and enjoying the events

At New Years ofc you guys kissed

It was sweet and simple

And despite not pushing anything somehow you guys got involved in the sweetest kiss “drama” on social media between you guys, Seto and his S/O and Joey and his S/O

Pharaoh Atem

As the king Atem was ofc very busy in the preparations of the feast and everything that would happen on New Years so you hadn’t seen him for 2 weeks

But those days were made up with good nights 👀

Still you wanted to be with him during the day but you were accompanied with Mana so you weren’t lonely

Eventually it’s the day and all the rituals were taking place

Though the humiliation ritual which you always found funny before felt different when it was your lover and he ended up shedding tears

But yk it meant more time with him as king and meaning a longer life

But you guys get to spend most of the day together, whenever one is the other is right there

And that night was the most special you’ve ever had in a while

New Years is good day

You guys spent the day cleaning and cooking but not decorating

Nope you guys weren’t even going to Seto’s countdown

You guys were going to a party with some close friends outside of the friendship gang

So after having a calm day and sleeping in y’all reached the club that was reserved for the party at 5pm

And man it was amazing

Sodas, champagne, snacks , cakes, food in general!

You two were glad that you guys came to the party

It was a great night spent dancing and eating away

Eventually you passed out from a mini food coma along with Tea barley hanging on

You guys jumped awake at the at the alarm of one minute to New Years going off around the club

Sitting on the comfy couches you guys cuddled together and shared a short sweet kiss for New Years

After whispering happy New Years to one another y’all promptly passed

Eventually you guys get woken up 2 hours later by the host saying the party was over and to go on home

It was a very nice New Years and you couldn’t wait for what the year holds

Tristan Taylor

He was surprised to get an invitation to Seto’s countdown as he wasn’t noticed as much as everyone else in the group but he got one!

Though you guys didn’t get set up in the entertainment section or the vvvvvvvip section you guys were in the vvvvvip section (naming done by Mokuba) and was able to meet cool people but mostly stayed to yourselves

You guys cooked and cleaned as y’all knew where you guys were heading and watched some tv as you guys waited for the time to pass

It was a nice calm day that led into a fun night that you truly enjoyed
