Sansûkh, a 577k-word fic retelling Lord of the Rings from the point of view of Thorin and the Dead Dwarf Peanut Gallery, has the most hits, kudos, comments, and bookmarks of any LotR fanfic on Archive of our Own. (It also has the most hits, comments, and bookmarks for the Hobbit, but not kudos; that honor goes to A Shot in the Dark if you want to ruin your sleep cycle for a couple days.)
Author determamfidd began writing the fic in June of 2013, and finally wrapped up the main story almost exactly eight years later in 2021. So if you ever dipped your toes in the world of Hobbit/LotR fanfic (and weren't against the fic's main pairings of Thorin/Bilbo and Legolas/Gimli), odds are pretty good you read at least a chapter or two.
So now I'm curious. Have you read Sansûkh? Would you like an excuse to talk about it? Did you barely sleep until you'd finally read every word? Did Thorin realizing why he was adding pretty flower patterns to Hobbit-sized pans make you need to stop and take a minute? Then this poll's for you!

This friendship between Natsu and Rogue was kind of unexpected. It makes a lot of sense, given the whole stuff happening.
But I'm pleasantly surprised at their interactions. 😁
It's great seeing them as besties and even if their paths will ultimately diverge (because gratsu and stingue), their connection is undeniable.

Today is Tanabata?
Dang, now I want to get some cute and chill words out with Natsu and Gray walking on a festival or something.
Just cute and dumb boys...

They deserved better.

I honestly don't understand the people who put Mashima's writing/mangas on a pedestal.
He's a crappy writer!
He does come up with great setting and characters but development isn't really his thing - be it for the story or characters. Heck, he even apparently stands for unhealthy relationships (gruvia is that).
Why would you go hard for a writers who stunts his characters' growth like that? Who can't handle a big cast of charas either - he's no Oda, he dropped the ball so bad with FT!
And romance... he should have focused more in the friendship and adventure sides instead of trying to handle something like romance. Because it sounds so hollow, so half-assed and blah. Dude should not touch romance with a pole the distance between the Earth and Jupiter. Yes, it's hyperbole, yes, I stand by it anyway.
I'm not a hater but let's be fair. Just... it's fun to read his mangas and all but, please, he's just mid, not great. There's a lot that needs improvement.

i lost the post i was trying to make so i might as well just ramble as long and bad written as i want to at the moment
all of my right-after/while-watching andor thoughts look ridiculous without context because i used nicknames for each character – my friends i was freaking out to /might/ watch a show later, and i definitely know that our little brains work really different, so the chance of them having the same associations are really low, – and when i revisit them while doing more-detailed-and-just-better notes it is always funny to see "no no NO NOT THE HOBBIT" or "the wolf is actually a fucking werewolf" or "wet fox. he's a wet fox. he's a wet fox that was dumped in the cold water and i don't even know if that is a thing but it makes sense really". Also, yes, syril carn is an "archaic siren system".
and then i have like two telegram limits that i wrote while i paused the scene and just decided to write this shit down and oh my god. oh my god. oh my god there are a lot of them. oh my god i need to rewrite this shit and then maybe rerewrite this shit.
but, okay, the main thing: this is the only fiction that made me write anything this year or made me actually happy in a way when you have something new to genuinely freak to your friends about for more than one dialog/mention or made me think and feel things long after i watched it. it is the only thing ever that had me frozen in fear, delight, horror and utter happiness at the same moment. it is the only thing that lives in my head now and im not complaining, like i do about those things often, im happy. it is the only thing that gave me a reminder of my own thoughts from 2021, when i texted my friend "please, if you can, remind me than i will decide that all this actually not that bad and that i can live with it if i will just close my eyes", because this is exactly what andor will be to me if i will ever need one. and it also gave me a tool that i use to talk about those things to my parents when they are watching with me – from 'from these scenes you can tell vel actually only really cares about cinta, and cares deeply, no, they are not just friends, look, it is told right here" to "can we talk about repression tactics of the empire" because when you give everything some cosmos and fantastical, but fabulously made explicit descriptions of what comes after some words are spoken it is suddenly okay to talk about things and make connections between them and reality and sometimes on those small watching sessions even some "yeah actually... this is what they talk like, isn't it/huh, this is awful/this makes sense" will appear and every time it happens i want to positively cry. it gave me hope and im so, so grateful to it.

Voiceplay-adjacent Visuals: Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold and I See Fire
Yep, you're getting a two-in-one today! Think of it as an Easter treat!
I wasn't sure if I would have much to say about Misty Mountains, but I did want to talk about I See Fire, and felt like I couldn't talk about one without the other, so I'm combining them into one post!
Geoff's cover of Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold was uploaded on July 4th, 2021, and it's currently the most popular video on his channel, with over 20 million views! The song features in the movie "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", and was also in the original book by JRR Tolkien (though note I haven't read any of the books or seen any of the films, so my expertise in that regard is limited). Let's go!
Tumblr media
(Love a good title intro)
This was filmed at Pattycake Productions Studios, and though I can't confirm it, I would not be surprised if this set has been used in a Voiceplay video at some point as well
Also let's take a closer look at those outfits; they look familiar, don't ya think?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Same shirt/top thing! With the silver rings in a diamond pattern!
(Btw massive shoutout to Rick Underwood (again) for hair and makeup, I can still barely believe that all 4 people in this video are Geoff tbh (and shoutout to Geoff himself for both editing and acting, because both those things help as well!))
Tumblr media
The grey fur thing reminds me of what Geoff was wearing in My Mother Told Me, but I don't think it's the same
Tumblr media
Oh and here's the other half of Layne's outfit from My Mother Told Me! See the fur and the patterned sleeve cuff thing? It's the same!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not the best picture, as I just went through my screencaps from previous posts, but yes the chestplate thing that Lead Geoff is wearing in Misty Mountains was also worn by Cesar a couple of years later in Valhalla Calling!
Tumblr media
Group shot!
Also love how second-from-the-right Geoff (idk what character he's meant to be, don't @ me) is fiddling with his little knife/sword/dagger for practically the whole video
Tumblr media
The smug look of "the note I'm about to hit will shake your speakers and vibrate your internal organs!" 😝
Tumblr media
And that's Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold! Told you I didn't have a lot to say about it, but it provides a good foundation for the second video I'll be talking about in this post!
Geoff's cover of I See Fire was released on the 10th of June, 2023, almost 2 years after his cover of Misty Mountains. (What is it with Geoff/Voiceplay doing follow-up "sister" videos two years later? 😅) "I See Fire" was actually originally performed by Ed Sheeran (Geoff takes it in a fairly different direction vocal-wise of course (though not completely without high parts!)), and plays at the end of the second Hobbit film, The Desolation of Smaug. Again, not familiar, but I recommend watching this video if you want a bit more insight into the characters that Geoff portrays!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Guess who got credited with lighting automation for this one? Go on, guess! It's the one and only Eli Jacobson again!
(Oh and also apparently that's a "carpet" of real pine needles on the floor? Goddamn the dedication)
Tumblr media
These two are from the Misty Mountains video! (The one on the right here is apparently Thorin Oakenshield)
Tumblr media
Although Lead Geoff is playing a different character here to the one he played in Misty Mountains, he's wearing the same chestplate (the one Cesar wore in Valhalla Calling). (Also love the continuation of Lead Geoff being the one with little to no facial hair 👌)
(Also you can see his white-grey streak in this one!)
Tumblr media
I mean the lighting choices really make this one. Well done Eli!
Tumblr media
Like goddamn look at this!
(Oh and for the record, I'm still in partial denial about everyone except Lead Geoff actually even being Geoff here 😂)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, well didn't have a ton to say about that one either, but with two videos in one post, it makes a decent length, so hope you enjoyed this Hobbit double-feature!
Some people are wondering if Geoff will at some point make a cover from the third Hobbit movie, The Battle Of The Five Armies, to round out the trilogy, so to speak. Bets are on The Last Goodbye, which I'm listening to right now out of curiosity, and oh Geoff could do gorgeous things with it, make no doubt about it. But we'll just have to wait and see (hopefully not wait too long though!) Next post will probably be a longer one, but also lots of fun! Stay tuned!

Back at it with the Sansûkh readthrough
Yes, I know it's been months since I last posted something on this blog. School and life got so crazy during the second half of 2021 (fuck animal physiology, yo), so this just got put off to the wayside. Regardless, school has been a bit kinder to me this semester and I'm ready to continue reading this wonderful fanfic.
Sansûkh Chapter 6: Reactions, Thoughts and Review:
Hey! I'm finally reading this on my desktop, so it will be far easier for me to read and record my thoughts at the same time. Yay!
Right off the bat, there is a mention of Erebor facing terrible winters, which I really appreciate. I'm a big fan of the "Hobbit Under the Mountain" AU, but I don't think enough fics make note of how hard it would be during those first few months/years after the reclamation of Erebor. While I definitely enjoy the more lighthearted stories that focus on Bagginshield fluff, I always commend the stories that aren't afraid to shy away from that. This fic clearly doesn't. - On a side note, I'm reminded of the fic "The Riven Crown", which also covers the hardships after the BotFA. If you're like me and like your Bagginshield fanfic to have a bit of grit and tension alongside a hearty bit of fluff, I highly recommend it.
I've said this before, but the way Bifur's condition has deteriorated since the start of the story is all too real for me. Without turning this into an emotion dump, I will say that seeing Bifur restored and in a place where he can be reunited with family is very comforting to me.
The whole argument between Dáin, Óin and Dwalin about the gold gives greater significance to the Dwarves' possessiveness over their treasures. While it's easy to brush off their obsession with gold as simple greed, it does have cultural value to the dwarves as well. The gold is a part of their heritage, and to be forced to part with some of it due to an agreement made by a handful of outsiders under the threat of war would be upsetting, to say the least.
I don't have much to say about the tavern scene as a whole. It's nice to get some character interactions and to give Nori a bit of a spotlight. The mentions of Dori were fun, especially the talk of him being "the epitome of Dwarven male beauty". Very unique take on an underutilized character.
Oof, that scene with Dwalin definitely hit hard. Short but sweet, nothing more, nothing less. A very poignant scene about the difficulties of surviving in just a few sentences.
Balin... Nooooo. A part of me forgot about the fact that Balin would have to travel to, and die, in the mines of Moria. This is the first scene, I think, that directly leads to an event referenced in the Lord of the Rings. It's hard reading this scene knowing exactly what happens and how it turns out, but just like Thorin, we're only able to watch helplessly.
We're definitely moving beyond the scope of The Hobbit and moving into LoTR material with this chapter. I don't have a ton to talk about with this chapter, but I do want to mention how much I like the way the author does mid-chapter scene transitions. Transitions are very clear in both tone and writing, making it very clear to the reader when the setting has shifted (e.x. switching from a scene with lighthearted interactions with Bifur to a serious, angry discussion with Dain, Dwalin and Oin). I like the new political focus this chapter had, and giving Dain more time to shine is always welcome. The tension has begun to build and I can't wait to read more.

2021 Fic Year in Review
thank you to @thotinshield for tagging me!!
Total # of Completed Works: 3
Total Word Count: 195103
Fandoms I’ve Written In: The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings
Looking Back, Did You Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, or About What You’d Expected? I would say that I wrote more - just because that word count is surprising to me, but also less, because I didn't really accomplish the goals that I set for myself. For example, I thought I would be pretty much done with I'll Die to Care for You by now, and that just didn't happen
What’s Your Own Favorite Story of the Year?: You're the Only One for this Heart of Mine
Did You Take Any Writing Risks This Year?: I think so? I wrote a whole month of smut! And the only reason I feel like that was risky was because it stretched me to think about different scenarios or how to make the prompts work that felt genuine to me, as well as writing bottom!Thorin more than a few times and getting hate for it.
Do You Have Any Fanfic or Profic Goals for the New Year?: Yes! I would love to finish up some of the WIPs sitting on my computer, and I created a priority list so I still have some movement on I'll Die to Care for You while I do so
Story of Mine Most Under-Appreciated by the Universe, In My Opinion: From 2021, maybe On the Road (to Erebor)?
Most Fun Story to Write: Sweet Talk with a Hint of Sin, Begging You to Take Me, because writing smut was a ton of fun
Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Sweet Talk with a Hint of Sin, Begging You to Take Me again lol revealed a lot of what I, uh, for lack of better explanation, get off to
Biggest Disappointment: My sort of falling out of love with I'll Die to Care for You, I think. I really want to finish it, and I really enjoy the ideas that I have for it, but between losing my stepmom in the midst of writing for it (around Chapter 19 actually) and then the hate that I've gotten on it sort of killed a little of my motivation. Though, the encouragement I've gotten on it and people commenting asking for more has helped <3
Biggest Surprise: I was surprised at how well received my fluffy holiday story was received! You're the Only One for this Heart of Mine was so fun and I'm glad that everyone enjoyed it!
tagging: @thiswaycomessomethingwicked @alienfuckeronmain @sunnyrosewritesstuff and like… the rest of my writer mutual if yall want?

Top 5 lines from your works GO!
DIM!! Lucky for you, I had this all ready to go! (Also, sorry I've taken so long to answer this today! 😅) Last year, I did something like this to reflect on my writings so I thought I should do that again this year.
I'm also going to tag other writers to share theirs because I'm curious but too lazy to jump to everyone's ask boxes. 🤣 @ahufflepuffhobbit @lordoftherazzles @middleearthpixie @nightshade-blues @ragsweas
TOP 5 WRITINGS FROM 2021!
5. Thirty Minutes to Change Your Life- Relief appeared in Bilbo’s face as he accepted the handshake enthusiastically. “I’m Bilbo Baggins. I find overconfidence and endearing idiocy very attractive, although I would advise you to choose your words more carefully. I knew someone once who seemed to think ‘jump’ was an automatic cry for help.”
I feel like I've been talking about this one a lot lately, but yes! This is one of my favorite lines/scenes.
4. Soul Traitor- He heard movement from the far cell, and he zeroed in on the location. His curly haired holbyta stood gripping the bars tightly. His bright hazel eyes were swallowed by the black around him, but were still so readable. It hurt Durin to see such fear in his One, but the longing he saw reflected back was a good sign. Madoc reached out slowly through the bars as if afraid of rejection and let his hand cup Durin’s face. The dwarf king leaned into the gesture relishing the warmth that burst underneath his skin at the touch of his One. A sob escaped Madoc, and Durin realized with a start that the holbyta didn’t realize it was truly him.
SO EXCITED TO REALLY GET STARTED IN THIS STORY NEXT YEAR!! There will be lots of angst, but I really think this is going to be different from other soulmate stories out there.
3. 99 Problems But Our Love Ain’t One Prompt #29- “The best way I can describe it...in the forge, there are times when the metal will explode in the hearth. It’s unpredictable, it’s blinding, and the tiny shards of white hot metal landing on your arm is painful. Seeing Bard with the jewel, and knowing it was you who gave it to him...it was a metal explosion. You were the one person, the only person that my paranoia could never suspect. To realize that my growing...affection for you had blinded me so, and to look over and see that all of my perceived enemies bore witness to my lowest moment...I don’t know how to describe that feeling. But in a matter of seconds, you stopped being Bilbo, and you were a greater enemy than Smaug or Azog for you attacked where I was most vulnerable. You attacked my heart.”
Speaking of angst...there are a LOT of great lines from this series, but this was one of my favorite pieces of dialogue where Thorin bares his heart to the whole Arkenstone debacle. 😭
2. All About Bilbo from the POV of...Elrond- “As I’m sure you’ve figured, I am also uncomfortably familiar with loss. Everyone feels different. It doesn’t mean you loved less or more, just that you loved uniquely. Grief is rather like an arrow at short range. The first strike is painful and can be deadly. Over time though, the distance gets greater and the arrow misses its mark more and more. It still burns when it hits, but those hits become fewer and farther between. I don’t know the struggles you or Belladonna faced, but I can see that your spirit is strong.”
Gosh, it seems like forever since I did this little series of drabbles, but I think writing this from Elrond's POV was my favorite.
1. 99 Problems But Our Love Ain’t One Prompt #26- Thinking about something else. During sex. Mahal help him, this hobbit would be the death of Thorin. He couldn’t even process how that would be possible unless...was Thorin doing something wrong? He had learned very early on in their relationship that his hobbit was a little more experienced than him in this area. What did he do differently? Bilbo tugged at his locks in his impatience to have Thorin back inside him as he rolled his hips to get his hole closer to Thorin’s cock. But the mood was dying quickly. Thorin didn’t even know how to start again from here. Much like a tween, his body responded with a level of mechanical clumsiness in the sense that ‘this part goes in this place’ as he thrust and tugged at Bilbo’s cock simultaneously to get them both to spill their seeds. However, it wasn’t...fulfilling.
I put this as my number one because this was my first attempt at smut...ever, and immediately I decided to write about bad sex. 🤣 Which honestly, I really enjoyed doing. Everyone writes about good sex between their OTPs. I decided to write bad sex.
This was all really hard to choose from though! I feel like I wrote a lot this year, and so I do have some Honorable Mentions:
Home- Thorin projected his voice a little more knowing it would reach his sister below. He sang the boys’ usual favorites. Songs about Erebor, songs about Durin the Deathless, the song of the Erebor Refugees, and finally his mother’s lullaby. It used to be Dís’ favorite. He pretended he didn’t hear the soft sobs echo out of the room below him as he lowered the volume to tuck the sleeping pebbles into bed properly.
All About Bilbo from the POV of...Lobelia- Two impressions stayed with Lobelia at that point. The Baggins name was worthy, and Bilbo Baggins was not.
Ambassador to Madness- At the base of the mountain where they were standing, the natural light was filtered in through crystals and mirrors and seemed to illuminate the main highways that stretched miles and miles above. The silhouette of the dwarves carrying on their way just added to the majesty. Not unlike his cousin’s ant farm, but Bilbo would do well to keep that opinion to himself. However, Balin led him into a tunnel, away from the sights above, and closer to the forges if the sudden oppressive heat was any indicator.

2020 in review...
This year has just been a time. Not an easy one, for many of us, myself included. But I’ve been fortunate enough to find a truly wonderful group of people here on Tumblr, at a time when I most needed to have people around. Even though I’ve only known y’all for a few months, it feels like I’ve known you for years already—and I hope to actually be able to say I’ve known y’all for years at some point!!! Thank you to everyone here who has become a friend, and to the rest of you, I hope to get to know you better and be able to call you friend someday as well!!! Thank you for helping me grow as a person and as a writer, and for all of the love and support you’ve shown over the past months. You all mean so, so much to me, but there are a few people I want to mention specifically.
@the-cowbi Mouse, you’re one of the bestest, most amazing people I know, and I’m so lucky to have met you!!! You were the first friend I made in the Newsies fandom, and I’m so glad we met because I’m not sure I would have met anyone else in the fandom if you hadn’t sucked me fully into it. It’s been truly wonderful to see everything you create; your writing is and continues to be amazing, and I can’t wait to see what else you come up with in 2021!!! Thank you so, so much for letting me kidnap/adopt Cora, and for letting me ramble about AUs and OCs and everything else to you all the time. Most of all, thank you for helping me to be a better person, and for reminding me that it’s okay to not be okay when I need to hear it.
@sour-picklee M&M, I am officially adopting you as my new little brother/sibling. You’re the best, and I truly love talking to you all the time. Thank you for trusting me and telling me about your OCs. You’re so creative and clever!!! I’ve loved hearing about the things you’ve created and done so far, and look forward to lots more stories! Also, your art is amazing and I love seeing it always aonfaopinfeoiawpfe.
@cutesiewooren I already got sappy in your ask box, so I’ll keep it simple and just say thank you for always being up for weird conversations about Hobbit AUs where Gandalf is two scandanavian gnome-dwarves in a trench coat and Legolas abandoning Bard’s children in Laketown if there was no Tauriel to keep an eye on them and all of the dwarves being otters. But also for always being up for surprisingly deep conversations when they happen, too xD
@wormsiewithablog hi yes I love you; you’re one of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you for yelling at me to finish blankets always being such a wonderful force of love and kindness and joy. Your artwork is amazing and I love to see it and everything else you create. Also, your memes??? Impeccable. You’re a beautiful person inside and out and I’ve loved getting to know you!!! (also yes I’m adopting you too, whether it’s as your vodka aunt or whatever else you want)—
@fifty-for-the-racer ANNE!!! You’re wonderful and it’s been such a joy getting to know you the past few months!!! Thank you so, so much for all of your support on New Music—I’m not entirely sure I would have finished it without your tags and comments encouraging me. It’s been awesome seeing how you’ve been honing your art style and improving as an artist—I can’t wait to see what else you create this year, because it’s all been so lovely so far, yet with every new piece of yours I see I’m like ‘oh my gosh, this is even better than the last one’!!! You’re a wonderful person, and you always have a kind and encouraging word to say and that’s so amazing.
I know there are more people, but my brain is dying so I’m just going to say a big general THANK YOU FOR BEING AMAZING and tag a bunch of people and I know I’m going to miss some but this is everyone I can think of right now and I’m sorry if I’ve forgotten you I promise it’s not because I don’t love you its because I’m not good at remembering names and URLs 😅
@clairejaak @logarithmicpanda @santa-fe-bitch @prettyinlimegreenboots @azapofinspiration @newsies-hit-da-streets @surebuyatickettheyletanyonein @h-anon97 @beep-bop-on-a-worm-to-zanta-fe @tea-withnofixinsplease @serena627 @magikarple @katsintriis @petramcbiteybite @that-newsies-obsessed-idiot @nowisthetimetocarrythebanner @birdies-things @your-bread-friend-your-brother (HOW AM I JUST NOTICING NOW THAT YOU CHANGED YOUR URL TO BREAD WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN???) @alice-blue-skies @lemonlimeimprobabilitydrive @papercrocs and anyone else I forgot!!! You’re all amazing people and I’ve been so blessed to get to interact with you, whatever form that interaction has taken. Thank you for being a part of my life!!!

Happy Birthday, Yugi Muto!
@pharaoh-ink absolutely DEMANDED I post this drabble I did while bored at work for Yugi's birthday, so, here you go: original manga arc/season 0 setting.
“(What’s a birthday?)”
Yugi paused in buckling the last of his belts and accouterments; he could hear and feel the spirit moving restlessly inside his puzzle. “What do you mean, what’s a birthday? It’s the day you’re born.”
“(That makes no sense. You were not born today, you are full grown.)”
“Not full grown,” he sighed, glancing at himself in the mirror. Surely he was due for just one more good growth spurt? “It’s the anniversary of your birth,” he clarified, and heard the spirit hum within.
“(You’re excited about it. Why?)”
“Yugi! You’ll be late for school!” His mother was calling from the bottom of the stairs, and Yugi hurriedly shoved his books into his bag.
“I’ll explain it later,” he promised, rushing down.
[The year in review didn't use the "read more" so I've redacted for length]

Mokuba: What do you do if you like a girl?
Yugi: Have you tried talking to her?
Seto: Have you tried building several amusement park attractions to kill her?

I just love that Sauron didn't even really KNOW about hobbits until he figures out the ring is in the Shire. Like the Witch King rolls up like, "Oh dark and splendid lord, we believe the ring rests in the land of the halflings."
And Sauron's like, "The what?"
"The... halflings."
"What in the fuck is a halfling? Is it dwarves, are you talking about dwarves?"
"No, they're like these...half....people... things."
"Was I napping? Was there another strain of the Music no one felt like telling me about? Who the fuck is going around making new things!"
He's gotta be disappointed he never gets to find out, when Sam busts Frodo out post- Cirith Ungol.

Bilbo is both Too Horny and So Done and Thorin meanwhile is, like.....twirling his hair and writing “Mr. Thorin Baggins” in his notebooks.

Kiki (1/2)
Prompt: Their Companion (February 1st, 2021)
Fandom: The Owl House
Relationship: Belos and Kikimora (platonic)
Synopsis:  After some light prodding, Kikimora opens up to Belos.
Author’s note: Hi ya’ll!  I took a bit of a mental health break over the last week but I’m back and ready to celebrate COMPANUARY!  (Shout out to @elixircatstudio for making the prompt list, and to @coventual-interests for helping me brainstorm). I’ll be posting a bunch of drabbles throughout the next month featuring Kikimora and Belos being platonic best buds.  I hope you like this first one!
- - -
Belos crouched over a table lit dimly by the pale-yellow light of several light orbs and the orange light of a lantern hung from the center rafter of his tent.  Spread across the table were maps of the northwestern portion of the Boiling Isles, heavily marked with troop movements, areas of strategic interest, and the locations of enemy encampments.  As he moved one of the large maps around the table, he caught his sleeve on the edge of the table.
“Dammit,” he cursed to himself.  He had again pulled his sleeve into the crevice between two boards.  As he worked the coarse fabric out from between the boards, he noticed a faint spattering of crimson on the underside of the sleeve.  He pulled in closer.
“It’s probably blood.”  He spoke quietly despite his solitude.  Breathing firmly out of his nose, he pulled the fabric free.  He turned away from the maps and stepped towards the chair nearest him.  It was a solid wooden thing, reliable and old.  He took a seat.
Belos lifted his arms up to stretch.  It had been a grueling summer thus far and his skin was slick with sweat.  The vestments that hid the markings of the Titan were heavy and pulled against his skin like worn flypaper as he lifted his arms.  As the fabric fell, he saw them again—a smear of crimson against a dull white backdrop.  He fell out of the stretch and sighed, staring at the maps on the table.
The subjugation of the towns and villages controlled by the Bard and Abomination covens had been swift and he had shown no mercy to those who opposed him.  Opposed the Titan.  The rumors that had spilled from the lips of the few designated survivors were true, of course.  Any town that refused to bow to him, emperor by divine right, had been annihilated.  Its buildings hallowed, its roads dug up, its fields salted, and its elders petrified.  Cleansed in the name of the Titan.  Their lord and savior.  Who had saved him from death, and had given him the power necessary to correct the evils of this savage age.
Yes.  He had presented them with a choice.  He had sent his right-hand to warn them of his coming and give them the chance to surrender beforehand.  They had known the consequences of defying the Titan’s will.
He heard canvas rubbing against canvas behind him and sat up to face the entrance to the tent.  A diminutive, red demon with three-pronged, taloned limbs and blue hair that resembled two hands connected at the wrist entered.  Her robes were white and trimmed with a band of pale gold ribbon—the distinctive garb of his cause.  Like his own, they had become frayed at the edges and dirtied with soil and ash.
Kikimora.  A strange name thought Belos.  But then again, most creatures of the Boiling Isles had strange, foreign-sounding names.  They would have been at home next to Bilbo Baggins of Tolkien’s work.  What was it, The Hobbit?  It had been many years since Belos had read the tome.
He watched Kikimora turn and carefully and deliberately close the tent flaps behind her.  Her hands moved with a deftness unexpected of someone of such a small stature.  Finished, she turned to face him, stepping into a deep bow from the waist.
“My liege, I have a report for you from our scouts to the north and a summary of the battle to the east.”  She spoke with precision, softly hammering the syllables into place.
“Now now, Kiki.  No need for the formality,” he said, lifting his palms to face her.  “It’s just you and me here.  You have permission to speak informally.”
Her lone eye, uncovered by her hair, examined him quizzically.  “Sir, uh, sire.  Did you just call me, Kiki?”  She pointed to herself with her middle talon.
He paused.  He didn’t know what to say.  It was entirely out of character for him to use a nickname for anyone.
She laughed pleasantly.  “Only my mother calls me that.  Well, called me that.”
“Right,” Belos thought.  That wound was still fresh.
“I suppose I did.  Didn’t I?”  Belos said, attempting to recover the mood for reasons he could not understand.  He didn’t have any reason to make her feel better.  But despite that, he felt compelled to.  He glanced away from her.
The young monster was a clever thing, and she had been a good companion while on campaign.  Perhaps it was alright for him to open himself up slightly.  He needed someone he could trust.  Could rely on.
“Of course, that’s alright with you isn’t it?” he asked, shifting back to look at her.
Her eye opened wide as her shoulders rose.  She smiled as she spoke.  “No, not at all.  I mean, of course not, my liege.”
He stood from his chair and offered it to her.  “Please, sit down.”
“Thank you.”  She strode across the room and hopped into the waiting seat as he rounded the table and sat across from her.
For the next half hour, she relayed the details of the day’s successes and failures.  The scouts had discovered several Oracle encampments along the road to the north.  No doubt they intended to ensnare one of his divisions in a trap of horrible visions.  No matter.  The abominations would rip them apart.
A town to the east had agreed to surrender.  Good.  It would save him the effort of having to make a personal appearance.  He would send several of Kiki’s agents to administer the curses to bind the local magic users to a single school of magic.
Once Kikimora had finished her report, she stood to leave, but Belos called out to her before she could reach the entrance.
“Kiki, wait.”
She turned elegantly to face him.  “Yes, my liege?”
“Please, stay for a while.  It’s struck me that despite traveling with you for the past eight months, I know little about you.”
“I didn’t take you for the talkative type,” she stated in return.  “Doesn’t the mouth of the Titan have better things to do than cavort with his followers?”
Beneath his wooden mask he smiled.  Genuinely smiled.
He had done well to choose her as his right hand.

You guys like Dune (2021)?
Tumblr media
To put it mildly: I don’t get it.
I never read the books, I didn’t know anything going in. All I know is that our tiny country’s national news talked about the movie and what a blockbuster it’s gonna be, so I figured “hell, it’s been literal years since I went to the movie theatre, might as well go for a movie that seems to have some effort put into it.”
And… uuuh. I mean, it has effort.
It looks great, the visuals are great, the sound design is great, the CGI is fantastic, it takes effort to make yellow and sand look interesting. So massive props for that, the people who worked on the audio and the visuals did an amazing job!
Aaaaand that’s about all I liked. And I tried to like the movie, I WANTED to like the movie! I think all the actors are really good but they just rarely had anything to work with and that’s one of the most frustrating things in movies ever.
Yeah, no, I’ll just say it, I thought Dune (2021) was boring as fuck.
And yes, I am fully aware that that was the point.
Well, okay, no, the point of the movie was a slowburn epic where the small moments were supposed to tell the big story and the athmosphere of a scene is what was supposed to carry the movie. I could tell that’s what they wanted to do. So why didn’t it work for me?
I like slowburn well enough, I especially like movies that take their time telling you what’s going on but here’s the thing: that’s mostly for movies where I already know the world. Either movies set in our contemporary world or in sequels, movies where most of act one doesn’t need to be spent on heavy world building. I ended up comparing Dune a lot to Lord of The Rings as I was watching because in essence, they’re very similar: both epic stories, both meant for more parts, both need heavy worldbuilding. So if I end up saying a lot of “in lotr they did it like this”, that’s why.
The worldbuilding was one of my major problems with the movie. A lot is told, a lot more should’ve just been shown. There’s a buuuunch of worldbuilding I straight up missed because a character was talking about it to another, using words I’ve never heard before and didnt have the chance yet to learn about. So, cool, this movie already wants me to watch it again later, fuckin hell. All I really remember from context is that the protagonist is the son of important dude, important dude is sent to another planet to… collonise it? It’s already been collonised, so to rule over it? It’s not THAT clear, I assumed they kept it vague for later when we can have a huge holy shit moment when the planet is revealed and- ugh I’m so bored. Oh shit, there’s magic too? And the protagonist is the chosen one? My dad was right, this IS star wars.
I was curious to see more of the magic stuff. The woman holds a poisoned needle to the protagonist’s neck so if he can’t handle his magic brain powers, he’ll die because if he can’t, he’d be too dangerous to keep alive. That’s dope! Can we know more about that? Ah, no, gotta talk governing and protocal- isn’t this why people disliked Game of Thrones?
Well anyway, about… half an hour into the movie, we FINALLY get to the dune planet and, oh, great, more government talk, how riveting.
Remember in Lord of the Rings where we learned the Shire through an old man talking about the home he loves with uplifting music and cozy visuals? And then how we learned to live in the Shire through music and dance and nosy neighbours? Remember how we learned there was more of the world through the eyes of curious hobbits who’d only ever heard stories of the world beyond? Remember how they were constantly in motion and experiencing different things? Yeah, I miss that sometimes.
So yeah, you see where my grievances lie, right? I literally timed it the second something interesting happened. The scene where the dust collector thing gets stuck and the sand worm was going to nom it, that was cool and interesting! Happened an hour into the movie though! I checked my phone and everything. Checked to see how long the movie was and then mumbled to my dad “we’re in trouble”. Had my theatre done an intermission, I would’ve walked out and drink a cola at the bar. There was a scene where Jason Mamoa avoids the firey destruction of a city with a space jet and I was SCROLLING THROUGH TUMBLR. JASON MAMOA ESCAPING WITH A SPACE JET SHOULD NOT BE BORING AND YET SOMEHOW, IT WAS.
It’s also like- the characters are boring. The main character is a thin white guy who’s good at what he does but not good enough that he still has room to learn, even though he’s obviously the best. He’s good with people, nice, social, frowns enough that he looks good on posters. If he has flaws, it’s that he’s very obviously gonna be a destructive messiah. Found that lil spoiler on the internet and was like “yeah…” But also, why else would he get stabbed by his obvious romantic interest. The mom isn’t really interesting, the dad is cool in that he isn’t a deadbeat or mean to his kid so obviously he was gonna die. The character with the most potential was told he died in a (obviously prophetic) dream so there’s no use getting invested in him since he’s gonna die too aaaaany second now. YOU SEE MY PROBLEM HERE??
Remember in Lord of the Rings where by the time Frodo left the Shire, you knew both the strengths and flaws of 5 of the main characters of the rest of the trilogy? That when you get a line from the script, you immediately knew “that’s such a Pippin line” or “that’s a thing Sam would say”? And all of them had already shown at least 4 different emotions?
My biggest, most glaring problem - and this was apparently in the book too - is that the movie ends where act 2 should’ve started. This wasn’t meant as a well-rounded finished movie and that’s all well and good, and it’s a choice they made, but I really didn’t like it. And I’m genuinely surprised not more people disliked it. So this movie was all build up, build up, build up, with no pay-off. We had to wait almst 3 hours of movie to even know where the plot was going and now I have to wait probably a year and ANOTHER 3 hours to get to the 3rd act of this story? Really?? Look, I’m always gonna be one of those film nerds that wants directors to stick to the rules unless it works to not follow the rules. And I applaud this director for drawing outside the lines in a blockbuster Hollywood movie, congrats, I will never know how you got the producers to say yes to that. But to me, it did not work. I had to sit through 3 hours of boring characters doing maybe 2 things of significance each, with no character development and barely any emotions, with nothing but sand and stone for visuals, and I don’t even get a PAY-OFF??
REMEMBER IN LORD OF THE RINGS, where, granted, the first movie was also 3 hours but in that 3 hours, we established 9 major characters, a fuckton of important side characters, established the villains, their motive, why the main characters are their enemy. They survived at least 5 different attacks, all with a purpose in the story, they discovered new worlds and learned something significant about them. They met new people and became their friends, created strong memorable relationships with them. They lost friends and we felt that loss like a knife through our heart. Every second something new was talked about, we ate it up and remembered it, felt like we were living it. Every time the characters experienced something, we were on the edge of our seat, waiting for what could possibly happen next. It ended on one of the most iconic endings to a movie EVER. It closed a chapter cleanly. It had a 3 act structure! It started introducing the plot and the characters, it had shit happen, and it ended having resolved what happened, ready to start whatever happens next.
In Dune, I didn’t learn shit about the characters that made me like them, I didn’t learn shit about the world that made me want to experience it, I was curious about what would happen exactly ONCE, and it ended having resolved nothing that happened before. It ended where act 2 should’ve started. And THAT makes me pissed. Not because it doesn’t follow the rules, not because it’s doing something only bad films do, but because that rule is there for a reason and the movie did not solve that reason despite breaking the rule. I left the theatre extremely unsatisfied, because all the interesting shit the ending promised me, should’ve happened in THIS movie. All the interesting world building of the Dune people, the main character learning about his chosen one-ness, the mother character having to deal with that, both of them dealing with the death of the father, dealing with the bad guys, building a bond with the probably romantic interest, IS ALL STUFF I HAVE TO WAIT FOR??
FUCK. THAT.
AND FUCK. THIS. MOVIE.
I’M GONNA GO WATCH LORD OF THE RINGS AGAIN.

March 1, 2021: The Hobbit (1977) (Part 1)
In a hole in the ground, there lived a Hobbit.
Tumblr media
When I was 9, my school let us read a very special book, originally meant for kids, but beloved by everyone. My folks and I went to Borders Books (FUCK ME, I miss Borders), and we got an illustrated copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. I can’t find that book, but if I ever find it again, Imma buy it IMMEDIATELY, I tell you what. And...oh shit, it’s on Amazon for $12?
Tumblr media
Well. I just made that purchase, I guess. But yeah, I loved that book when I was a kid, and this was during the same year that Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy began, with Fellowship, of course. And I wouldn’t end up watching those until a few years later, but I loved those too when I saw them. And I’ve NEVER seen the abridged version, by the way, I’ve only ever seen the extended editions.
Tumblr media
Although, I can’t call myself a hardcore fan. I’ve never read the Silmarillion, for example. Although, weirdly, I wanted it as a kid at some point, so I was almost there. But no, I ended up getting into comic books hardcore instead, so I can’t tell you the history of Tom Bombadil, but I can tell you about at least one of the fuckin’ 87 tieles that the Legion of Super-Heroes has been involved in. I’m not gonna like it though.
...Yes, I will, who am I kidding, I love the Legion. Anyway, I’ve still always been a fan of the franchise, and I was extremely excited when Jackson announced that he’d be doing an adaptation of The Hobbit! Seriously, I WAS FUCKING PUMPED, you have no idea. I re-read the book, I was super-excited...and then Harry Potter changed EVERYTHING. Kind of.
Tumblr media
See, Harry Potter’s development as a two films made from one book seemed to kick off a trend. Breaking Dawn and Mockingjay are the two that immediately come to mind, as does this film. However, to be fair...that’s probably a coincidence. Yeah, this film was originally developed as two parts, WAY before Deathly Hallows got that treatment. And even then, Jackson and Del Toro had difficulty breaking it up into two parts, and three ended up being easier. Still...the change from two-to-three does feel a little connected to that trend.
Anyway, in celebration of that decision, I’m gonna break this review into three parts! Yes. Really. I want to see if it works. And so, let’s talk about the other most famous adaptation of this book by talking about its creators.
Tumblr media
Yup. Rankin-Bass did 2D-animated cartoons, too! And this was one of their most famous ones, dating back to 1977. But wait! There’s more! This was followed by Ralph Bakshi’s version of Lord of the Rings by a different studio. You know, this one?
Tumblr media
Yeah, that one. It was only based on the first two books, Fellowship and Towers. But it was technically unconnected to the Rankin-Bass version. Which is why it was REALLY weird when Rankin-Bass came out with an adaptation of the third book, Return of the King, right afterwards!
Tumblr media
BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE. Because both of Rankin-Bass’ specials were animated by a Japanese studio called Topcraft, who’d actually worked with Rankin-Bass for years. But then, they went bankrupt a few years later, and was bought by Isao Takahata, Toshio Suzuki, and...Hayao Miyazaki. And it was renamed as...
Tumblr media
So, this is a Hobbit adaptation produced by the Rudolph people and animated by the people who would eventually become Studio Ghibli. Well, uh...holy fucking shit. Let’s DO THIS BABY. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Recap (1/3)
Tumblr media
As we’re wont to do in this story, we head to Hobbiton in the Shire, where we meet Bilbo Baggins (Orson Bean). A simple Hobbit in a simple home, with a happy and simple life. But one day, he’s approached by Gandalf (John Huston), who seeks a burglar to help with the mission of a group of dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Hans Conried).
Tumblr media
We also immediately start off with two songs from the original book, and I have to say that I like them a but better in the Jackson movies, but they’re still well performed here. Anyway, after dinner, the true goal of their quest is given. Beneath Lonely Mountain, the ancestral home of the Dwarves, there was a kingdom ruled by the King Under the Mountain, Thorin’s grandfather.
Through reading the lyrics of the song “Far over the Misty Mountains,” Thorin tells the tale of the takeover of the Dwarves’ great golden hoard by the dragon Smaug. Bilbo is tasked to help the Dwarves steal back the treasure stolen from them. And, while he’s extremely reluctant to be a part of all this, Gandalf basically forces him to, the pushy bastard. And Bilbo’s Greatest Adventure now lies ahead!
youtube
Speaking of, here’s the song “The Greatest Adventure”, sung by Glenn Yarborough, who is the living personification of vibrato. Fuckin’ seriously, this guy’s voice is ridiculous, but I love it so much. As the night passes underneath Glenn Yarborough’s hypnotically shaky voice, and uncertain, Bilbo stares out at the moon. Once it’s over, we’re on our way to the Misty Mountains.
Tumblr media
Bilbo’s having a tough time with the long journey and rough weather, and it doesn’t get much better when they encounter a trio of trolls. They send out Bilbo to try and steal some mutton from them, but he’s IMMEDIATELY a failure, and also manages to tell the trolls that the dwarves are present. Nice one, Bilbo. The trolls catch all of the dwarves, although Bilbo manages to escape.
The trolls argue about how to cook the dwarves, but before they get to do anything, Gandalf shows up and summons the dawn, turning the trolls into stone and saving the dwarves. While they’re initially quite frustrated by Bilbo’s failure, he makes it up by discovering a horde of goods and weapons stolen by the trolls. This is also where Bilbo gets his classic weapon, Sting.
Tumblr media
Gandalf, cheeky bastard that he is, suddenly reveals a map that he’s kept secret from Thorin, its rightful owner. Bilbo, a classic cartomaniac, is able to interpret the map. But there are also runes that they can’t quite read. And so, Gandalf brings them to his friend, Elrond (), who’s wearing a sick-ass glittery tiara that’s hovering off his head. How come Hugo Weaving didn’t have that?
Anyway, Elrond identifies the swords that Thorin and Gandalf grabbed as Orcrist, the Goblin-Cleaver and Glamdring, the Foe-Hammer, because FUCK YEAH, BABY, those are some fuckin’ NAMES! WHOOOOOO!
Tumblr media
Anyway, he also points them in the direction of the mountain, and shows them hidden features to the map. They head through the mountains after this, and rest in a cave. Unfortunately, this cave is on Goblin territory, and the group (sans Gandalf, who’s disappeared to make out with Cate Blanchett or whatever) is quickly ambushed by a group of now-horned Goblins, who chant their song as they go “Down, Down, to Goblin-Town”. Which is a song that I love, unironically. It compels me to sing along.
Tumblr media
The Goblins nearly kill them when they discover Orcrist in Thorin’s possession, but they’re saved by the sudden appearance of Gandalf with the glowing sword Glamdring. He kills the Great Goblin, and the group run out with the Goblins in hot pursuit. Well, except for Bilbo.
Yeah, Bilbo falls into a cavern below the mountain, and the dwarves think him gone for good. However, he’s miraculously safe on the ground, having landed in an underground aquifer, in which lives THE GREATEST CHARACTER IN THE MIDDLE-EARTH FRANCHISE FUCKIN’ AT ME I DARE YOU
Tumblr media
And just so we’re clear, I’m not talking about the film version only, I’m talking about Gollum/Smeagol in general. Granted, I don’t want a film starring him or anything (coughCruellacoughcoughMaleficentcoughcoughClaricecoughcough), but I love this dissociative little dude so much. He’s one of my favorite fantasy characters in general, and is also maybe the best example of a sympathetic villain, in film at least.
OK, to be fair, I love Andy Serkis’ version of the character a LOT, like a LOT a lot, and it’s a great version of the character. OK, so what do I think of this version? He’s...interesting, actually. If I’m honest, I kinda like him. This is similar to how I always pictured Gollum when I was a kid.
Tumblr media
I mean, listen to this description from the book, yeah?
Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don't know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum - as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face...He was looking out of his pale lamp-like eyes for blind fish, which he grabbed with his long fingers as quick as thinking.
I dunno, that does sound more like this version of Gollum to me, just saying. Anyway, while Gollum is off fishing in the water, Bilbo gets up on the shore, where he finds a little golden ring Not important, just a ring, definitely means nothing at all, NOTHING AT ALL, NOTHING TO SEE HERE.
Tumblr media
The hungry Gollum (Brother Theodore) happens upon Bilbo, precious, wonders if Bilbo would taste good, and is basically about to kill him for his sweet hobbit meat, before Bilbo takes out Sting. Now afraid, Gollum offers a game of riddles. The two make a deal: if Bilbo wins at a game of riddles, Gollum will show him the  way out. But if Gollum wins, precious will eat him raaaaaaaw and wrrrrrrrrrriggling!
The riddles commence, in a super-fuckin’-classic moment, and also ends with maybe the most bullshit moment in all of fantasy lore. After clever riddles with answers involving eggs, wind, and time, Bilbo’s last riddle is “What’s in my pocket?” The fuck, Bilbo, that’s absolute BULLSHIT!
Tumblr media
Not that it matters. Bilbo wins, but Gollum goes to find his ring to show it to Bilbo before he takes him away. Thing is, though, that’s what was in Bilbo’s pocket, which Gollum quickly figures out, my precious. He’s about to kill Bilbo to get back his birthday present, precious, but Bilbo discovers the secret trick of the ring: it turns the wearer invisible, AND THAT WILL NEVER BE A BAD THING EVER.
Gollum thinks that Bilbo’s escaped and runs after him toward the exit. This, of course, leads Bilbo towards the exit inadvertently, and he follows Gollum, then jumps over him to get back. To which Gollum screams the following:
Thief! Thief! Baggins! We hates it! Hates it! Forever!
Tumblr media
I hear you, buddy. I hear you. Well, once Bilbo escapes, he reconvenes with the rest, and shares his adventure in the cave, but leaves out the ring. And Gandalf seems to know, based on his dialogue. And I checked, and he figured it out in the book and Jackson movie, too. And I gotta say...WHAT THE FUCK GANDALF
Tumblr media
I mean...DUDE. CHECK UP on that shit. Do you wizard job, man! If you’d been like, “Dude...you didn’t find a magic ring that turns you invisible, ight, because we’re FUCKED if you did”, NONE OF THE LORD OF THE RINGS WOULD’VE HAPPENED, AND BOROMIR WOULD STILL BE ALIVE
Tumblr media
Everybody talks about the fuckin’ eagles, but WHY DO I NEVER HEAR ANYONE MENTION THIS SHIT? Gandalf the Grey: Middle-Earth’s most irresponsible asshole, I swear...
This seems like a good place to pause, actually. See you in the next part!

This is gon be my first post for 2021. I don’t even know how to start this so let me just tell you a glimpse of what I’ve been doing lately.
Oh before that, can we first appreciate my love for the Tumblr app? I’m here since 2011, omg. I know, I know.
I don’t regularly post here ever since I had my Twitter account y’know, daily rants, daily tweets. But man, I don’t have the guts to delete this app.
Anyway, how are you? I hope y’all are doing good! If you’re going through something, we all are. So close your eyes, pause, and breathe. Everything’s gon be okay soon.
Me? I’m taking my time to reflect on what has been happening lately. Trying to understand my different emotions and abrupt actions.
I’m not far different from you or anyone else. We’re all the same persons trying to survive life. I am as confused as you when it comes to understanding why things happen. And, I do question the universe too if my parallel self doing good?
If I’m to compare how emotionally and mentally stable I am today, it’s way better than the past few years. I’ve learned to managed my depression. Gone are the days I battled with my suicidal thoughts because I thought it was an option. It never was and will never be. Gone are the days I’ll cry myself to sleep and feel worthless. I’ve learned to love myself more than ever.
I still get nightmares sometimes tho. But maybe that’s when I think too much of something I’m no control of. Or, when I get too angry or sad over a situation I’m not supposed to overthink.
Physically, not so fit. I’m low of blood, and underweight. My weight has been a problem since day 1 thus I managed to control my blood pressure before. Bad habits will kill me.
January passed by real quick, I don’t remember much detail aside from being promoted to the escalations team. The only promotion I didn’t appreciate at first. Welp, Supervisor role isn’t a bad thing after all.
February was fun. I celebrated my anniversary together with my boo on valentine’s day. I got quarantined for 14 days after so I had enough time to watch Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit.
This month is full of adventures. Went to Lake Bensis and finally broke my hiatus in Wordpress. Yes, I started blogging my travels again. Last weekend, we camped in Mt. Kan-irag and I’m gon write a blog abt it too.
My life sounds perfect bc I only talked abt the positive things which I should only focus at. But it’s just a coverup for the ugly things my life has.
I’ve been dealing with disrespectful relatives, too. Trying to balance my anger and relationship with them to avoid gaslighting our cold wars. It’s pretty obvious that they stopped liking my boyfriend. We can’t please everyone but it’s crazy how their treatment changed suddenly.
I am so pressured with PWC. I never liked the idea of joining bc (1) I have a very limited knowledge about the real photography (2) I just started taking photos using a digital camera (3) I only said yes bc I was asked twice.
Now, it gets real. The themes were rolled out. Deadline is coming. And I don’t feel any support at all from the ppl who encouraged me to join. I somehow think it’s my fault bc I said yes, but I want to backout. Don’t get me wrong. I’m willing to learn but from who? Who’s willing to teach me? No one.
I’m supposed to be working right now but I’m sure my mind is gonna be flying somewhere and I won’t be able to concentrate so I didn’t login.
Oh, I think I wrote enough already for a three months worth update. My TA is open for y’all.
xoxo

Singer Bofur at Rivendell! I drew this to participate in the Character Design Challenge on Facebook, but unfortunately I didn't have time to sign up (in fact I'm still waiting for approval in the group). One of the coolest scenes from the first movie, Bofur stepping onto Rivendell's pedestal and singing a fun tavern song that animates all the other dwarves! Ps: I have also proposed this drawing to The Tolkien Society!!

Aziraphale and Crowley are the blue wizards!!! Who better than them to be the blue wizards??? I watched this series recently and I found it fantastic, I fell in love with it. But this idea came to me when reviewing The Hobbit for the umpteenth time, at the scene where Gandalf talks about the mysterious blue wizards, I thought "It could be them! They would be fantastic as blue wizards! Maybe Aziraphale is friends with Gandalf and Radagast and in Lotr he helps them in their business, while Crowley could be Saruman's bad advisor and Sauron's aide! Then when it all ends they shrug and go home!”. PERFECT!! And it was born this crossover!

I recently saw the Spider man no way home... and that's the result!
I'm madly in love with Doctor Strange and the Ironstrange couple, so I think I'll draw a lot on them 😍

These two are so cute, I can't deny it :3 The Eden scene where Aziraphale covers Crowley with his wing to protect him from the rain while he gets wet is so cute and got me thinking. Perhaps the rain could bother Crowley by being a demon, and perhaps the sun too strong could bother Aziraphale as a delicate angel. Then, I thought of Crowley that he reciprocates the kindness of the angel by covering him from a scorching sun. Yes, their relationship started from here :3

it's cool that we use acronyms for fandoms and stuff but when you've never heard of a certain show or movie or whatever and you come across the acronym on tumbr it gets weird cause some are common like we all know that MCU stands for marvel cinematic universe but earlier I saw a post talking about TMFU and my brain said ah yes, the motherfucker unlimited
