i hear you like vampire whumpees. got a trope for you:
plant a human in the vicinity. have said human ingest a vampire-only poison. then, order the human to offer their blood to your vampire whumpee. vampire drinks. vampire is poisoned, and has no idea who, truly, was behind the whole thing--so finding a cure is gonna be a wee bit complicated, donchya think?
[bows out graciously] - @whump-kia
Holy frick yes I absolutely need this in my life
That’s so twisted in the most delicious (ha) way??? Like, you think you’re finally getting something you need, and it’s been tainted and now it hurts you and you don’t understand why or how, all you know is it hurts and it won’t stop. It’s like such a cruel way to exercise control, if you get my drift? Like “look, I can take this thing that you need and make it hurt you.” Just…wow.

so, i can't be entirely sure of when the junon / shinra war happened. not sure a time frame is given. but im still retaining the idea that the pcm owned by heidegger's father worked closely with and assisted shinra constantly. i am going with the idea that the pcm helped shinra fight in the war against junon, and heidegger's father went along with it entirely due to financial motivation. ( this is despite heidegger being originally from junon. i see him as the kind of person, from many places but not really based anywhere. his mother being wutain and his father being from junon. heidegger would more than likely call midgar his home - but he's sort of from everywhere ).
this is something that heidegger would grow up resenting though because he remembers growing up on the shore of junon. before going into the military, he would play for junon's rugby team and spend his time fishing as a boy. so, when his father essentially sells out his home to assist shinra in the war - heidegger is rightfully a little resentful of his father's money-grabbing decision making / selling his soul for power.
part of the reason heidegger himself would later leave the pcm he's a part of FOR shinra - is that they were becoming too money obsessed for his liking - i like this because it's a delightful twist of irony.
heidegger's father worked for shinra FOR money and because he wanted the power that comes with riches.
heidegger joined shinra because he wanted to escape from a war that was solely fought for riches & power. heidegger was a blood knight who wanted to fight for honour & shinra offered it to him.
i especially like this because of the implication that shinra can be anything you want them to be. to his father, it meant money and power. to him, it meant honour and strength.
either way, it meant being under the heel of shinra or ultimately corrupted.

Genuine question, how do you think wukong or macaque would approach one of their kids having a really really bad day?
Like I feel like it’d be more anxiety for qxtn and more depression for nezha, whilst lxjo has a bit of both
Macaque and Wukong have a tendency to joke during situations when they’re not supposed to (Wukong more lightheartedly, Macaque more off standish)
Wukong approaching them would be trying to calm them down and offer comfort if they want it, not trying to force himself onto them and gives verbal encouragement and reassurance. He listens if they want to talk about it and he gives small tidbits of advice when he thinks about how, Hey I used to do this to help myself calm down, and it sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. But he tries.
Macaque is like the type of parent who tries to distract from the problem but it doesn’t work so he tries advice and it’s.. rather bleak? At first. Are you actually that torn apart by a little thing? and is stunned when the kids reply with, Yes I am!, so he attempts to talk about it and it’s a little shaky — probably gets them to walk with him or move someplace else, and they make slow process together. He’s trying, even if all he gets is a quiet, thanks, he tries his best.

Mondo does not find the phrase "I would die for you" to be sort of romantic. If anything the phrase just panics him because of Daiya, works either Daiya alive or canon dead

I hate when I want some fluff from an angsty romantic relationship but there's only angst and then, I have to create content but I don't know how to write them and then, I have to draw them, but it is just not the same :(

tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"

"life doesnt get better, you just get stronger" does NOT include ages 11-17. life does in fact just get better from there. those years are dogshit. like, you do get stronger but its mostly just a factor of not being 11-17 anymore. positive thinking helps but it doesnt fix whatevers going on at 15, you have to brute force through that one raw

If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)
At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.
Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.

Guys.
Y’all.
I…
I just. I just… i have discovered something. And I have laughed too much. I have laughed every time I have tried to explain it to someone. I cannot get through this.
Look. Okay.
There are two things you need to know, here.
First: There’s a style of Greek pottery that was popular during the Hellenic period, for which most of the surviving examples are from southern Italy. We call them ‘fish plates’ because, well, they’re plates, and they’re decorated with fish (and other marine life).
Like this one, currently in the Met:

Or this one, currently in the Cleveland Museum of Art:

They’re very cool. We’re not 100% sure what they were for, because most of the surviving ones were found as grave goods, but that’s a different post.
The second thing you need to know is that when we (Classics/archaeology/whatever as a discipline) have a collection of artefacts, like vases, sculptures, paintings, etc. and we do not know the name of the artist, but we’re pretty sure one artist made X, Y and Z artefacts, we come up with a name for that artist. There are a whole bunch of things that could be the source for the name, e.g. where we found most of their work (The Dipylon Master) or the potter with whom they worked (the Amasis Painter), a favourite theme (The Athena Painter), the Museum that ended up with the most famous thing they did (The Berlin Painter) or a notable aspect of their style. Like, say, The Eyebrow Painter.
Guess what kind of pottery the Eyebrow Painter made?
