Nickname: The only one who gives me nicknames is my husband, and his idea of cute isn’t generally agreed upon.

Average hours of sleep: Around 6, which is not enough.

Dog or cat person: I grew up with dogs, so that’s no fair question.

Blankets you sleep with: Two. They tend to get stolen.

Dream trip: Rome sounds fantastic.

Dream job:  My present one, ain’t I lucky? I’m a psychologist, presently teaching and giving practical supervision to social care workers in training. It’s interesting, fulfilling, a chance to meet awesome people, and I have a great degree of flexibility and responsibility (i.e. my boss doesn’t breathe down my neck.)

Why I made a Tumblr: That’s where the Hobbit fandom met.

Reasons for my URL: I just wanted to join the holmesslash mailing list - around nine years ago, I think? All the names I’d thought of were already taken. Eventually I chose something random, based on a discussion about cats the previous day, because really, it wasn’t that important, was it?

Only then I met a bunch of awesome people and followed them to LJ, and so it stuck. I don’t like it much, but changing it probably means that no one will recognize me any longer. (I do like maine coons, though.)

Favorite music artist: There are so many, but when it comes to all-time favourites, probably Depeche Mode. Presently I’m on a Blind Guardian binge, thanks to @gaolcrowofmandos. (Thanks indeed, hubby always turns the radio off when he gets into my car.)

Song stuck in my head: Niii-iiiight-faaa-aaall ...

Last movie you watched: Moana, on DVD. Worth every second.

What are you wearing right now: Jeans, hoodie, warm socks. Comfortable work-at-home (distracted-by-tumblr) outfit.

What do you post: Fandom stuff according to present interests (mostly Tolkien, occasionally Sherlock Holmes, X-Men, Harry Potter or Star Trek), meta, pretty pictures, now and then some science stuff. I dislike posting about politics, but needs must, sometimes. Rarely.

Do you have any other blogs: only on LJ.

What did your past relationship teach you: If someone gives you the impression of dodging commitment in general, it doesn’t bode well. (Luckily, it’s been a long while. :)  )

Religious or Spiritual: Spiritual, yesh. Christian, because I believe it’s a kind and positive religion in its core, as long it’s not perverted (which is true for most religions, really). Casual worshipper of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Generally convinced that all religions are essentially looking for the same truth and none gets it entirely right.

Favorite Colour: Blue, turquoise, magenta.

Favorite character: Where to begin? Thorin Oakenshield, movie!Dwalin, and the other dwarves of the company in no particular order. I may have mentioned once or twice that I’ve developed a massive crush on Celebrimbor? Silm-wise, the sons of Feanor take turns in ripping out my heart and stomping on it. (Something else I’ve googled recently: Caranthir, because poor darling what did you ever do wrong apart from being a kinslayer and an arrogant ass you did not deserve this.)

Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, though I prefer the ACD version to BBC Sherlock. And, of course, pre-HBP Remus Lupin is one of the most inspiring characters I’ve ever read about, and now stop me before I write a two-page essay just about him.
