Hey, are you still bitter about the treatment Thingol gets in the fandom? Because I am, even if it's 2023. The fact that people have such visceral reactions and threw a huge hissy fit in response to Thingol banning Quenya as if his banning is equivalent to a mass slaughter when said mass slaughterers are claiming lands in Beleriand and mocks Thingol's kingship is funny to me. And the fact that people mock and shit on Thingol for being pissed at the kinslaying at Aqualonde because he wasn't even there, like hello? That's his brother's people tf? Who wouldn't be pissed when you find out your brother's family legit got slaughtered? He has flaws but like so do many characters in silm, yet he gets so much hate and is never written with justice because he's against the noldor/feanorians.
Am I still bitter about [X]? yes. The answer is always yes.
People's attitudes towards Thingol in this fandom are a perfect illustration of character-centric morality: the things the Feanorians do are excusable because they're liked, and anything Thingol does is worthy of scorn because he is not liked. That's how you get people acting like the Quenya ban is on par with literal mass murder (and no, I don't think his asking for a massive number of foreign troops coming into the area to show him respect as the local ruler, as a display of good faith if nothing else, was unreasonable).
Look, I get why Thingol is not a big fan favorite. He suffers from "show not tell" where although Tolkien tells us he was a wise and beloved king, most of what we're shown in detail are things he fucked up. He also plays the King Triton role with Beren and Luthien, and no one likes a guy who stands in the way of ~true love~. Additionally, some of his most likeable moments come in Children of Hurin, which is, of course, not a part of the core Silmarillion. We get a lot less detail in Silm about Turin's time in Doriath, which is when we see a lot more of Thingol in CoH and where we see his attitude on mortals make a complete 180 (he is in fact the only Elf lord to ever foster a Man). But even within Silm, it's rarely acknowledged that in the end, he does support Beren and Luthien's marriage.
"And it seemed to Thingol that this Man was unlike all other mortal Men, and among the great in Arda, and the love of Luthien a thing new and strange; and he perceived that their doom might not be withstood by any power of the world. Therefore at last he yielded his will, and Beren took the hand of Luthien before the throne of her father."
He seats Beren at his left hand--it's hard to overstate the significance of that.
"Then Thingol's mood was softened; and Beren sat before his throne upon the left, and Luthien upon the right, and they told the tale of the Quest..."
I think it is relevant to remember that in accepting Luthien's marriage to Beren, Thingol is necessarily accepting her death--the death of his only child, whom he holds dearer than all the land and wealth of Doriath. That doesn't make his actions in B&L right, but I think it makes them understandable.
Later, when the forces of Doriath go to hunt Carcaroth, Beren and Thingol hunt together.
"...Huan leaped from the thicket upon the back of the Wolf, and they fell together fighting bitterly; and no battle of wolf and hound has been like to it, for in the baying of Huan was heard the voice of the horns of Orome and the wrath of the Valar, but in the howls of Carcaroth was the hate of Morgoth and malice crueller than teeth of steel...There they fought to the death; but Thingol gave no heed, for he knelt beside Beren, seeing that he was sorely hurt." (Emphasis added)
But also, simply because he repeatedly comes into conflict with the sons of Feanor, he was doomed to be recast as a villain by the fandom because the sons are so popular that anyone who dislikes them is going to get shafted by the fandom. Hating on Thingol is so accepted in this fandom people don't even seem to regard it as character bashing to come onto posts or fics about Thingol and share how much they don't like him/think he's an asshole/whatever.
I really don't think there is an overreaction to hearing about unprovoked mass murder. I really think most of us would react very badly to finding out that someone we'd had dealings with had slaughtered a bunch of people, whether or not we were related to the victims. It's been said before but I'll drag it out again: Thingol had to do something. As king, he did not have the option of not reacting to that--that it happened, or that the Noldor tried to conceal it. The Quenya ban was arguably a mid-level response (Furthermore, it was a pretty deft display of Thingol's soft power--Maedhros scoffs at his claim to be king of Beleriand, yet look how instantly and totally the Sindar adhere to this directive. With this one move, Thingol displays for the Noldor how far his power reaches. If they were thinking about armed conflict with Thingol and Doriath, they now know how many of the Elves of Beleriand they would have to deal with.) It's not like Fingolfin was going to turn his people over for a trial, and accept whatever punishment Doriath's court ruled on, not least because Fingon himself was a significant part of the Kinslaying at Alqualonde. The Noldor, hand their crown prince over to a foreign justice system? Not gonna happen.
I will link to my tag for Thingol metas, if you want to see more of what other people have stated more eloquently about his character and his actions!
Long story short: I like Thingol, flaws included, and it's kind of laughable that of all the characters in the book, THIS is the one people find irredeemable.

I'm on the record as saying that I never care when white characters get recast as POC (like with Namor and MJ in the MCU); however, there is one distinct exception to that. I believe Charles Xavier has to be white. Hear me out.
I'm approaching this with the characterization of Charles Xavier in the comics (not the Fox films, as it has been so long since I've seen them) and my own interpretation of the politics surrounding his character. I would love to hear some alternate perspectives, provided that it is all polite discussion ofc.
As I alluded to in an older post I see Charles Xavier as a very liberal character. He is always for assimilation and has a tendency to prescribe the "model minority" mindset. He uses his most attractive and human passing mutants as the face of his team. Never in the comics did he publicly identify himself as a mutant- Cassandra Nova was the one controlling his body when he publicly came out as a mutant. Charles' wealth and his whiteness prevents him from seeing the reality of the mutant situation, it is the reason why him and Erik are always at odds. Erik, as a Holocaust survivor, understands the patterns of discrimination and bigotry. He understands that no matter how much the submit to the mold of "well behaved mutants" they will never be treated the same.
Charles, in my mind, encapsulates the liberal fixation on both the aesthetics of bigotry and the individual. Bigotry is bad when people yell slurs and commit hate crimes. Slurs are yelled by individuals, and hate crimes are solitary events perpetuated by individual bigots. Erik was always a character who attacked the system. He wanted to dismantle the systems responsible for the oppression of mutants. Charles is someone who has benefitted from that system, even as a mutant, and on some innate level is afraid of changing that fact. I think being white and wealthy contributes greatly to the philosophy of Charles Xavier. The politics of mutants and the X-Men universe has always been something of great interest to me and this is just the way I see it. But, what do you guys think?

The real reason that nonviolence is considered to be a virtue in Negroes—I am not speaking now of its racial value, another matter altogether— is that white men do not want their lives, their self-image, or their property threatened. One wishes they would say so more often. At the end of a television program on which Malcom X and I both appeared, Malcolm was stopped by a white member of the audience who said, “I have a thousand dollars and an acre of land. What’s going to happen to me?” I admired the directness of the man’s question, but I didn’t hear Malcolm’s reply, because I was trying to explain to someone else that the situation of the Irish a hundred years ago and the situation of the Negro today cannot very usefully be compared. Negroes were brought here in chains long before the Irish ever thought of leaving Ireland; what manner of consolation is it to be told that emigrants arriving here—voluntarily—long after you did have risen far above you? In the hall, as I was waiting for the elevator, someone shook my hand and said, “Goodbye, Mr. James Baldwin. We'll soon be addressing you as Mr. James X.” And I thought, for an awful moment, My God, if this goes on much longer, you probably will.
James Baldwin - The Fire Next TIme
Man, man I followed a chain of links and found that paper, "Decolonization is not a metaphor" and I read like three quarters of the dang thing before I realized that we all already got mad at it because it is morally insane.
This is less about the idea of a literal mass expropriation of land, and therefore wealth, from the current owners in the US, which A) is not going to happen any time soon (Land acknowledgements are acknowledging that you ain't giving the damn land back to anybody); and B) if you tell me that the land I live in will be given to the local indigenous people my first question is,
"So will they be raising the rent as much as the previous owners did?"
What's morally insane is... Okay, no, I object to the idea that the question is irrelevent, although the authors of the paper do say fairly explicitly that it is wholly irrelevant.
What I find morally insane about the paper is not the idea that the authors wish to ignore my feelings on the matter, but the very strong suggestion that I should train myself not to have an opinion on the matter.
I linked the paper up there, I don't want to summarize too much, but essentially, it posits a triad of indiginous person/settler/slave, which in the US context maps more or less onto Native American/white/black.
Indigenous peoples are those who have creation stories, not colonization stories, about how we/they came to be in a particular place - indeed how we/they came to be a place. Our/their relationships to land comprise our/their epistemologies, ontologies, and cosmologies. For the settlers, Indigenous peoples are in the way and, in the destruction of Indigenous peoples, Indigenous communities, and over time and through law and policy, Indigenous peoples’ claims to land under settler regimes, land is recast as property and as a resource.
Settler, in this paper, is not meant very literally. The settlement of the US involved not just the theft of land specifically, but the creation of certain narratives about who has rights to use land and in what way. My ancestors in this country go back hundreds of years but they are, to our best knowledge, legally white, and I am therefore a settler in the sense of having a certain relationship to certain racial and conceptual categories.
Don't get me wrong: the history of this country makes at least certain versions of that idea very plausible.
So what am I supposed to do with that?
If I take the authors of this paper morally seriously, (And once I took similar views very seriously, in some ways I still do) where does that put me?
Settlers in a country like the US do not and cannot have a creation story about how we came to be in a certain place. That I am a settler in the US very much does not make me somehow indigenous to Brittany where many of my ancestors come from; I do not have a story of how my people came to be in Brittany or Great Brittain any more than I have one for how we came to be in the USA.
What I can become, perhaps, is an immigrant:
Settlers are not immigrants. Immigrants are beholden to the Indigenous laws and epistemologies of the lands they migrate to.
Here's a question: How, as a settler, would I acquire the moral right to influence the laws and epistemologies of whichever land I should migrate to?
I don't have the legitimizing moral narratives that indigenous peoples do, am I doomed to simply occupy a subordinate place in a new hierarchy?
The authors, I should note, explicitly say no, but also explicitly say that they basically can't explain why not and so I just shouldn't worry about the question for now.
Honestly I think a tremendous amount of American history involves attempts to deal, psychologically, with the fact that the question of who has power and who doesn't has been decided in a way which is at odds with most of our country's moral pretensions. I think that shame has been one of the great psychological factors driving white attitudes in the US, both racist and anti-racist.
Think about what the "moves to innocence" that the authors delineate would mean if you took their moral position seriously. Those moves to innocence are attempts, I am quite sure, to find a way to act in the world for your own benefit without feeling shame. The indigenous person can ask for the control of the land they occupy without shame; for the settler, even to occupy the land is to make yourself part of a shameful process.
"Decolonization is not a metaphor" treats the desire to express oneself without feeling shame around it as essentially a distraction.
The settler is simultaneously morally obligated to exercise a tremendous amount of power and effort, because how could the non-metaphorical expropriation of all US land and the end of the USA as a functioning state take anything other than a tremendous amount of power and effort, but also to have no thought at all about what the ethical exercise of power from a settler would look like.
It is morally imperative that the settler begin to act and use his power in a moral way and at the same time the very question of how the settler would do so is understood as a frustrating distraction from more important questions.
The only possible response for a person who takes this seriously and conceives of themselves as a settler is to just fall back on an entirely incoherent self-image because the demands being made of them are fundamentally incoherent, to feel a kind of shame without shame.
I have probably over-explained this and yet not quite gotten to the central problem. I really disagree with this paper, and I think it is fundamentally unserious and fundamentally poisonous.
Not because the authors propose a massive reorganization of land but because they are utterly unwilling to think about what that would mean on any level whatsoever.

— THE KING and the admiral ʾ ⋆
Tumblr media
summary ; requested by @cedricsleftelbow
with no war between the greens and the blacks, lucerys velaryon has found himself as king of driftmark. despite having almost anything he could need at his disposal, there is one thing that he cannot yet have.
pairing ; pre-established!lucerys velaryon x knight!reader
notes ; in an au where lucerys doesn’t get offed by our favorite one eyed prince 💔 reader is a high commanding officer in the velaryon fleet and lucerys is also a lot older here,, i also can’t bring myself to recast luke 😔🔫 rhaenyra is also queen of the seven kingdoms as the greens surrendered peacefully
the towering splendor of dragonstone is quick to come within sight after mere hours of leaving the docks of driftmark. without kind winds or waves to carry the ship faster to his brothers castle, the supposed short journey took a turn.
lucerys velaryon eyes his ancestral home carefully from the forecastle deck, his stomach beginning to churn as he recollects his thoughts on the nostalgia that surfaces–he was a boy growing up here and now it was no longer home.
“my prince,” a feminine voice tears him away from the thoughts that blister his feelings. he turns his head, his face lifting at your presence, one of the many admirals within his garrison. “we should dock dragonstone within the hour, your brothers men have already flocked to receive us.”
he takes a deep breath to stagger the sickness that’s surly building bile within his throat, “good. i fear the sea doesn’t agree with me today, admiral.”
“the sea never fares with anyone, my prince. it’s nothing to be ashamed about,” you say earnestly. he gives you a smile at this and nods his head, his appreciation shown through the wild sparkle that's noticed from the distance between you two.
you two stare at one another, a stare that is a little too long that’s fit for a prince and his fleets admiral. you clear your throat, suddenly growing nervous under his bashful watch and bend half at the hip, taking your leave after a moment.
when the ship docked and lucerys was rowed to the shores of dragonstone with yourself, you two were accompanied by the men of dragonstone. the giant gates of the castle open and the party leads you through the corridors, pictures of dragons swirled across the marbled walls.
tall gates open to the throne room where a party has gathered. from your recollection, the queen rhaenyra sits atop the dragonstone throne and beside her, prince jacaerys and his wife, princess baela, are awaiting. jacaerys is the first to break into a smile, rushing down the steps to greet his brother lucerys with open arms. you can’t help but smile at the interaction.
“and who might this be?” it’s the queens voice that dances into the air. eyes turn to finally acknowledge you and you grow shy underneath their observant gaze. you slowly bend into what you thought was a curtsy, something that lucerys quietly snickers at.
it’s lucerys who speaks on your behalf, “this is admiral (y/n), she’s one of the many commanders of my fleet.”
“forgive me, your grace, my prince and princess, but i fear i’m not dressed for such an occasion,” you say, your voice softer than usual. speaking to royalty was more nerving than speaking to foul-mouthed sailors.
rhaenyra waves her hand as if dismissing the notion, “have no fear,” she pauses in between the phrases, “i’ve heard of your many feats in the velaryon fleet, you’re more than welcomed at court the way you are.”
with the queens leave, a guard approaches you and lucerys. you turn and watch as he turns on his heel, seemingly prompting you to follow his lead. you do as your bid, eyes scaling up and down the endless decorations that were cast into the walls.
“i think that’s the worst curtsy i’ve ever seen,” lucerys speaks up after a moment. a grin parts you lips and you send him a playful glare.
“you didn’t tell me i would have an audience with the queen.” you reply, thus beginning a short, heartfelt spurt of bickering remarks. you laugh and shake your head.
you both arrive at a room, where the guard stations himself outside. lucerys bids you farewell, lingering for a moment before taking off. you enter the room and take a look at your surroundings. it’s grand, for sure, with a balcony that oversees the bay. it’s more comfortable than what you’re used to.
you take your time to clean up; a warm bath is drawn up by the servants of house velaryon. you carefully scrub at the grime, the smell of lavender and sandalwood filling the air as the soap you lather in your hand become soapy with suds. you rub them into your hair and do care to wash it. you dry yourself off with cloth that’s given and you wrap a thin linen over your naked body as you approach the small chest that was delivered while you bathed.
you pick out the most appropriate dressage. the closest thing was riding pants and a corset over a long-sleeve. you supposed you could make it look out to be a dress, if you put a shawl over it. you dress and pin your hair back to make yourself seem more presentable.
there’s a knock at your door that surprises you and soon after, a voice calls out from behind the door, “her grace, queen rhaenyra.”
your heart feels like it’s in your chest and you smooth out any wrinkles on your clothes and in your hair. you wring out your hands before crossing the room and opening the wooden door. you smile at her and do your best to curtsy.
“your grace, what can i do for you?”
the queen smiles at you and dismisses the queensguard with a wave of her hand.
“i want to talk about lucerys,” she begins, doing a round about the room and touching various things that decorated the space. was she curious about how lucerys was as lord of driftmark? how his accomplishments are?
your hands join together at the front of you, “what about him, your grace?”
“you two seem to be close,” she says in a hum, her eyes catching yours. she searches them, as if the truth hid behind the color of them, “very close.”
“ah, yes, your grace, our titles require us to work together.” you rock from your heel to toe underneath her watchful gaze.
she seems dissatisfied by this answer, so she continues to probe, “i’ve seen the looks you’ve shared.”
your brows furrow in confusion, but then when clarity hits you, you open your mouth to protest. the queen is quicker to speak, “don’t fret, my dear. i just–” she sighs, sitting down on a nearby chair.
“i want him to be happy,” she says, looking up at you, “and you seem to be the cause as of late.”
warmth fills your belly as her gaze softens on you after her words. you didn’t have the heart to deny it. you remember vividly the day you had your admiral ranking celebration, or rather, the day your newfound love had blossomed for the prince. lucerys was there, adorning the admiral pin on your lapel, his hands lingering on your coat longer than expected. you look down at your feet. was this her way of rebuking you? telling you that your status was too inferior for her son? was she going to send–
“you should tell him sooner rather than late,” she says, rising from the chair and moving towards the door. “with the life you two live, you never know when the next moment could be your last.”
the queen dips her head in farewell and leaves you, open-mouthed, standing in the middle of your room.
you take a moment to collect yourself; a deep exhale leaving your lungs barren. you inhale and tuck the stray pieces of hair behind your ear. you smooth out your outfit once more, moving towards the door.
the guard stationed outside your door acknowledges you once you exit your private quarters. he stands at attention before wordlessly leading you to where the feast was surely being held. you two arrive at another hall, one that is decorated with targaryen and velaryon joined heraldries. you’re one of the first to arrive, sitting at one end of the table where your name was written on a placard.
slowly, the room begins to fill with other members of the royal family. you rise and attempt to curtsy at each arrival, only smiling once you lock eyes with lucerys. you should tell him. your mind wanders back to the queens message, was this endearment really shared?
lucerys sits on an adjacent side to you and the feast begins. you dig into the plates happily, servants walking to and fro from the table. your attention is turned to the queen once again when she entraps you into a conversation. you can’t help but toss your head back in laughter at something she says.
lucerys notices that you two are laughing together and he can’t help but smile himself. his stomach bubbles with tenderness at the interaction. beside him, a chair scoots and the scrape tears him away from himself. he looks to his side, the toothy grin of his brother taking up the space.
“she’s very pretty,” jacaerys says, his voice bordering a tease.
lucerys rolls his eyes and elbows his older brother, “don’t.”
“don’t, what?” his brother responds, his nose crinkling as he raises his cup of wine to his lips. he takes a thoughtful sip before speaking, “you two would make a handsome pair.”
luke wants to groan at the notion, but he can’t help but feel his heart flutter. at least someone else acknowledges it, he just wished it wasn’t his brother.
“enough, jace,” luke complains. jace raises his hands in mock defeat and gets up from his chair, moving back to sit with his wife, baela.
later that night when the dinner is done, lucerys paces back and forth in his room. he’s determined to end his suffering; the suffering he’s been enduring since the day he named you one of the admirals of his fleet. his hands clench into fists at his side before he tuts, throwing on his coat and leaving his quarters. he makes his way through the halls of dragonstone and makes his way easily to where your room was located.
he stops at the door, eyeing the guard that was stationed. he mumbles a quiet word of leave, to which the guard nods and leaves wordlessly. luke feels regret coil in his stomach. he holds up his fist and hesitantly raps the door three times.
there’s movement inside as luke stares down at his shoes. he only looks up when the door opens, his breath leaving him when he finally faces you.
“luke,” you greet, almost happily. “to what do i owe the pleasure?”
pleasure.
“i– i, uh,” luke stumbles upon his words. he curses himself mentally, his eyes squeezing shut as he shakes his head to rid himself of the self doubt. “i came to wish you good night.”
luke watches a flash of disappointment cross your face. you nod your head slightly, leaning on the door for support.
you give him a small smile and a noise of content, “well, good night to you as well, my prince. is there anything else?”
the prince of driftmark could’ve mistaken this for annoyance on your part. yes, there is something else. he opens his mouth to announce his feelings, the feelings that have plagued him all summer. however, nothing comes out. you both stand there, gawking at each other in obvious disappointment.
“no, my lady. that’s all.”
lucerys nods his head in leave and turns on his heel, marching back to the comfort of his quarters.
the journey back to his bed feels like it takes a lifetime while he’s thinking. he feels regret, resentment, and a callousness to himself for not ending his own agony. he finally reaches his room and slumps on the bed, a groan of disappoint being silenced by the sheets.
he stays like this for some time, mind without thoughts and even breaths occupying the small space between his face and the bed. a knock at the door, one that he almost doesn’t get up for, forces him to his feet.
“i don’t wish to be disturbed.”
there’s another set of knocks. lucerys sighs to himself before moving toward the door, opening it. his mouth hangs when he realizes that it’s you.
you two share a look, one that’s full of hesitance with the fire of an undying yearn. you’re the first to close the gap.
the collision is less than perfect and your lips crash onto his with a force that you’re sure will bruise tomorrow morning. his hands fly to your waist and you both stumble backwards into his room. you shut the door behind you with your foot, his hands fiddling with the lapels of your coat. you both work together to tear it off, the kiss becoming feverish enough to ignite a flame between you.
as warmth blossoms, you two shed layers of your garments. his was his coat, his tunic, and with your clothes, he did the best to tidily untie the laces of your corset. soon, the corset falls off with ease. only then, you two pull apart to catch your breath. lucerys is the first to laugh, something giddy that shows his excitement. you two are like kids again; flushed faces with wide grins.
lucerys crosses the short distance that’s between you and places his lips are on yours once more. you two stay like this for a moment before you slowly stumble towards the bed. you both fall on to it, luke on his back and you on top of his.
the next morning, you’re nestled into his side as sunlight seeps in through the balcony. you’re awakened by the light, a yawn parting your jaws as you blink through the sleepiness. lucerys stirs next you, his hold tightening on your naked body. you hum gently, observing the serene way he looked; the light from behind him highlighted the peach fuzz on his face, the small, dark hairs of a growing beard beginning to show. he looked ethereal, almost.
you sigh in content before snuggling deeper into his side, closing your eyes to savor the morning.

Rewriting some of the Winx Club villains (for fun)
Tumblr media
I actually had a fun time with rewriting the Winx, and it seemed to have gotten positive reception! Thus, I thought I'd do rewrites for some of the Winx Club villains. Just like with my last post, this is NOT a "what would've made them better" post, but just my own interpretation of the characters based on the show (mainly the first 4 seasons as applicable) and some of the comics. And since I never did a post about recasting the villains (I only did so with the Winx and the Specialists), I'll include my dream voice cast here. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Ancestral Witches--In my rewrite, there's only one ancestral witch; I feel like it fits the primordial vibe more, but this is also because the witches don't have distinct personalities, and the Trix claim descent from all three of them, but this feels like they were moreso their reincarnations than their ancestors (though it could be both). This sole witch would be named Carabosse, named after the wicked fairy the Ancestral Witches are based on. She is created by Darkar as the first evil mortal (albeit with an extended lifespan due to magic, both hers and Darkar's), but she isn't his servant; she's his consort, and they exist as a twisted version of Hades and Persephone from Greek Mythology. Rather than having the same powers as the Trix, Carabosse has the ability of corruption, being the first mortal queen in the magical dimension (and ever, probably), and seen as doing her husband's dream of spreading evil throughout the world. The descendant of the holders of the dragon spark, Oritel, formed the Company of Light to defeat her, but they only managed in destroying her physical body, with her spirit still lingering. She is the first witch, as you may have guessed, and even in death, we are never truly rid of her, due to her divine marriage and long-forgotten magic that makes her influence permeate the most evil parts of the magic dimension.
I'd imagine she dressed in dark blue/black with orange-red gems and patterns, almost like she's made of lava. My ideal voice actor for her would be Colleen Wheeler, who did an AMAZING job of playing Mystique in "X-Men: Evolution."
Tumblr media
The Trix--No need for introduction, the sisters of the Ice Kingdom are the most persistent villains in the series. In my rewrite, their realm wouldn't be known as the Ice Kingdom (since it kinda discards Darcy and Stormy, but Distorsione, Italian for distortion), said to be the base of Queen Carabosse. You'd think that being descended from her would offer the Trix some leverage, but the royal family has much closer ties to her while the Trix are distant relatives. The people there are reserved and standoffish, but not necessarily evil, though the Trix essentially ruin that perception and now it's a demonized location in the magical dimension. It's confirmed that the Trix are triplets and were abandoned by their family for the perceived threat they could pose in the future, and upon discovering this, they vowed to take over the magical dimension and retake what they believe to be their birthright. And it's worth noting that for most of the first season, no one knows who they are when they attack the winx; they have a "Superman" thing going on because of the makeup and clothes change; when in disguise, they dress similarly to their fairy disguises in issue #123 of the comic.
Icy has an on-and-off romance with Darko throughout the series (it's implied that they could've been something positive, but Icy is too focused on power and is willing to mistreat Darko, who, despite having his own issues, cared about Icy but is now mainly just courting her for potential power that he could wield as her consort). She also has a distaste for Bloom, given their powers are polar opposites, as well as the fact that Bloom was automatically revered for her potential while Icy was discarded for it. She also takes particular interest in tormenting Flora and Ariel (my rewritten version of Roxy), since I'd canonize the 4kids statement that she derives power from dead planets, and the fact that she doesn't really have any particular respect for animals and plants. I'd probably base her design on Taylor Swift, particularly during her "Reputation" era. I know the Trix weren't based on celebrities, but I thought it'd be a nice touch. I'd I'd like her to be voiced by Salli Saffioti, since I really liked her performance as Cleo de Nile on Gen 1 and 2 of "Monster High," albeit something a bit less regal. As usual, she wears shades of blue, though I like the idea that she keeps the lighter/brighter tones for her witch look that she does in her civilian clothes.
Darcy is the middle triplet, and is quite interesting due to her relationships with others. While Icy is somewhat conflicting with how she feels about others, sometimes abusing them and sometimes praising and adoring them, Darcy cares about others but believes that abusing them is the best way to show it (influenced by her abandonment and the fact that she's been lied to a lot by people who claimed to care about her growing up). She's attracted to danger and doesn't really understand the typical concepts of love and care, which Icy jokes is influenced by her power over darkness, which will prevent her from ever seeing the light. She often takes delight in torturing Stella with darkness and causing friction between Musa and Riven--she even tells Musa that they can share Riven; Darcy takes the evil half and Musa takes the good half, even going as far as to offer splitting them into two separate people, but Musa points out the unethical boundaries of that (duh) and how her love for Riven meant that she loved him in spite of his flaws and wanted to help him improve on his faults, but only if he recognized them as so. This perplexes Darcy, who has a similar corrupting power to Carabossa (albeit much less powerful) and she believes that she must change those who don't like her or think like her. I'd base her appearance on Olivia Rodrigo, and also have her voiced by Tasia Valenza, since I enjoyed her performance as Poison Ivy in the "Batman: Arkham" video game series, and I feel like her deeper voice captures Darcy well (4kids bias).
Stormy, being the baby triplet, is often left the hand-me-downs of her sisters and is the most mysterious, despite sharing her sisters' interest in chaos and power-seeking. Unlike the more composed Trix, Stormy is much more upfront and aggressive, not usually bothering with manipulation unless she thought it could stir up an immediate reaction. She doesn't really have a love interest, but she does note that if things fell apart for Stella and Brandon, she could pick up the pieces and "see which way the storm blows." I'd also see her as the Trix member who's most likely to choose physical violence (in contrast to Icy, who's most likely to rely on her magic), and feels like she has the most to prove, insecure and afraid that she and her sisters were discarded because of her (being the only one who's powers were apparent and uncontrollable from a young age). She also has it out for Aisha and Tecna, as storms know how to stoke an ocean's ire, and can cause blackouts. I'd base her appearance off of Tate Mcrae, with her voicework being done by Selah Victor, AKA Chloe Bourgeois from "Miraculous Ladybug."
Tumblr media
Diaspro--Just to be clear, I'm keeping the "Sky and Brandon swapped identities" subplot, but this lie is revealed BEFORE Bloom and Sky get together. It's also revealed that both Sky and Diaspro are political pawns; they were childhood friends, and when it was revealed that Diaspro was a fairy of gemstones (what's with "the"? Can't there be more fairies like her?), she was betrothed to Sky under the belief that her wealth would enrich Erakylon. While Diaspro submitted to this--being from a poor family and "encouraged" by her relatives to accept the betrothal--she became cruel and callous due to the political games she had to play, as well as never wanting to go back to poverty. She had a crush on Sky, and the betrothal heightened this, but she failed to realize he didn't feel the same, as he became more withdrawn when the betrothal became official. Since he was doing his duty as a prince, he tried to submit to his family's wishes, but rebelled when he developed a crush on Bloom, as well as making friends with the Winx and the Specialists. Diaspro misinterprets this as his friends talking him out of marrying her, and she lashes out at them and tries to tear them apart. Sky is the only one who has sympathy for her at first, and eventually all his friends realize she was dealt a bad hand in life. Until it's revealed Bloom is a princess with the power of the dragon flame (she's originally just said to be a fire fairy to protect her), Sky and Diaspro go through with the illusion that they're engaged. When it breaks off, Diapsro's family has been compensated and rises to the noble ranks, but they still want more. Diapsro informs Sky of their plotting, and she pretends to continue to be villainous to her family and other villains, acting as a double agent for the Winx and the Specialists without turning anyone against her. For her design, I'd base her on Ariana Grande (for obvious reasons), and surprisingly have her voice by Ellen Wong; I think her sweetness as Knives Chau would be great for Diaspro's vulnerability, and it'd be fun to see her act stuck-up. I'd also give her an outfit reminiscent of blue labradorite (you'll recall with my rewrite of Bloom I'd give her a black base with colorful accents reminiscent of the cosmos).
Tumblr media
Darkar--Much the same, the dark dragon that contrasts with the great dragon that created the world. I'd make him a bit more nuanced, with his nature being chaos rather than outright evil. In fact, to make him different from other Winx villains, I'll make him lawful evil--which is the Dungeons & Dragons way of saying he's a bad guy who follows the rules. These "rules" would essentially be the laws of nature, that light cannot exist without darkness and vice versa, but one can reign over the other. With his wife gone, he sees the Trix as his daughters/granddaughters (and they are his descendants) and attempts to teach them his ways--though they are puzzled by his lack of unecessary cruelty and restraint, as well as his respect for those who align with good. He reveals that his wife was not constrained by the rules that governed him, and that is likely why the Trix act they way they do. He's also known as the "shadow phoenix" because he'll always be reborn, and there will be an age of darkness once more, and Bloom's descendants (or another descendant who holds the dragon flame; Bloom's extended family is sizeable) will fall into their grasp. Plus Bloom's witch heritage makes her fall into his distortion, bringing out the duality of the dragon flame, both light and shadow. I'd love for him to have a larger-than-life deity appearance to him, and taking inspiration from X-Men's "Dark Phoenix" arc feels natural--thinking on it now, they may have already done that. For his great voice acting as Trigon, I'd love for Kevin Michael Richardson to play him--though Paul St. Peter is a close second.
Tumblr media
Valtor--He's iconic as-is and the greatest Winx villain (partially because of how involved he is in every episode, in contrast to previous villains), I'd make a change to his origins; instead of an older being created from the dragon flame and raised by the Ancestral Witches, he's the biological son of Darkus and Carabossa. Similar to Diaspro, he was used as a pawn all his life, and is only slightly older than the Winx and Specialists. He essentially does everything the same in my book, but there is a sympathetic angle; he was designed to bring about the age of chaos Darkus foretold, and thus has been emotionally, psychologically, and physically abused by his caretakers (since his parents weren't physically around to raise him) until he became a beast of darkness. However, due to the fact that light cannot exist without darkness and vice versa, in a similar way to Bloom being made into Dark Bloom, Valtor is capable of love and light, albeit in a very standoffish, aloof way. Bloom recognizes his loneliness, and for a second it makes her reconsider wanting to be reunited with her own family, who she only knows through second-hand sources. With the power of the Winx, Bloom defeats Valtor, but instead of killing him, she uses her divine abilities to take some of the darkness in his heart and accept it into her own, giving him some of her light in return, knowing that he didn't choose to be who he became, though he's still imprisoned with the Trix in the Lightrock Monastery due to his crimes. It's implied for the rest of the series that he's an antihero, though he tries to be discreet due to the legacy he created. For his voice actor, I'd love for him to be voiced by Neil Newbon; the Astarion parallels are too delicious to ignore.
(NGL, Valtor is a great villain, but I did feel bad for the circumstances surrounding his creation, thus my sympathetic take.)
Tumblr media
Tritannus--Due to his repetitive nature in season 5, I'd make Tritannus a supporting villain in season 3, helping to give more focus to Andros as well as keeping his goals streamlined. For a good deal of the season, the merpeople are curropted, with the pandemic eventually reaching King Neptune and Queen Ligea. Nereus also becomes infected, leaving Trittannus to rule the seas. However, when he welches on his promise to help Valtor take over the magical dimension, Valtor pollutes the ocean, transforming Trittanus into a monster. He then helps Valtor in order to regain his original form, as well as having a thing for Icy (who admires his evil tendencies, but his newfound appearance makes this a manipulative relationship only, as she sees a great deal to gain by becoming Queen of the Seas, this being one of her off periods with Darko). His family eventually defeats him, and he is banished to Oblivion, though both his siblings hope to release him from there with time, given his young age and their merciful natures, though Aisha remains skeptical.
I'd probably want him voiced by David Gallagher; I could totally hear RIku's voice when I see him.
Tumblr media
Cassandra and Chimera--Amazing side villains, and pretty underrated winx villains overall, Cassandra is the new wife of King Radius and Chimera is her daughter, and both of them treat Stella cruelly and put a spell on Radius to make her resent her. I'd include them a bit more, and make Cassandra seem a bit kinder than she really is, with Chimera viciously tearing down Stella and Cassandra passive-aggressively trying to cheer her up, only to make her feel worse. I'd also make it less obvious that Radius is under a spell; since Stella argues with him frequently following the divorce and now with his surprise marriage, Stella believes that Radius thinks she's turned against him and wishes to take the throne by force, possibly with her mother. Radius IS under a spell, but it's easy for Stella to buy that after all their arguing, it's affected her father's perception of her, especially since his new wife and stepdaughter appear demure and submissive. They're still vain and spoiled, but they know how to curry the kingdom's favor in order to make themselves likeable, craftily working with Valtor to stain Stella's image as a selfish, entitled princess, and convince the nobles that her behavior could result in a coup that could destroy the sun kingdom, convincing them that Stella has become a puppet to Luna (and that Solaria itself could become a puppet state).
I'd base their appearences on Gwen Stefani and Jenna Ortega respectively, with Cassandra being voiced by Jennifer Hale (using a voice similar to her Bayonetta performance) and Chimera being voiced by Diane Guerroerro (since she has "evil Isabella Madrigal" written all over her).
Tumblr media
Wizards of the Dark Circle--In my rewrite, they wouldn't be present villains (not that I've written the whole thing out, but that's my current headspace), but instead beings of legend, with their own unique backgrounds. Two of them are fairies, so I guess "Lords of the Dark Circle" would be a better title.
Ogron--Nicknamed the Stormy of the Wizards by the Winx and the Specialists, he's moody and quick to anger, but when he is in his element, he's calm and collected. As a child, he was a precocious wizard who surmised that fairies were the most powerful beings in the magical dimension (outside of the dragon creator), and realized that no matter how powerful he'd become, they'd always win, inspiring his quest to destroy all fairies on Earth, becoming so powerful that he became the Wizard of Negation, capable of stripping powerful creatures of their abilities (which varied by creature, of course). Despite his rage against fairies, he seems to have love and care for other beings, including his fellow wizards. He was eventually defeated by non-Earth fairies and sealed in a stone statue in Gardenia, and with his defeat, no more wizards were born on Earth. Similar to the Winx, I'd give the WOTDC celebrity inspirations, mainly celebrities who were (arguably) at their most famous decades ago, but are still widely respected now. For Ogron, I'd base him off of Johnny Depp and have him voiced by Mark Hamill (he gives me Ozai vibes, what can I say?) I'd also change the group's color scheme to be more individualistic, making his a mix of reds and oranges in a sophisticated, upper-class style rather than his punk aesthetic in the OG version.
Anagan--I'd make him the most "likeable" of the lords; he shows respect for others, flirts, and socializes, being known as the life of the party. He is known as the Wizard of Time, which allowed the wizards to stay ageless and find the Earth fairies (he joins this quest because he sees fairies as inferior to wizards, and not deserving of their power). It's implied that he can also time travel, and that the Winx may encounter him one day, or that they may already have. Due to his skill at seducing fairies, it's stated that he's sired many descendants, but due to Ogron's petrification, no magic came of his descendants, wizard or otherwise. While he escaped the fate of his contemporaries, it's said he's lived a lonely life without them, being known as the shoulder they could cry on and an expert secret-keeper who they consulted. His celebrity inspiration would be Usher, and I'd make his clothes trendy and have a stained glass style and multicolored, highlighting his colorful personality and friendliness (just not to fairies). Keith David would be a fun voice actor for him, in my opinion.
Gantlos--Originally a wizard of destruction, I'd rewrite him as the fairy of memory, and thus the one responsible for erasing Earth's recollection of magic ever being real. He also is the most protective of the group, throwing himself in danger to keep the others safe and being akin to the Pied Piper of Hamlin due to his mesmerizing flute playing. He was ignored as a male fairy within his family, lacking the ability to progress to different forms (likely because he was sheltered and thus could never overcome his insecurities or make a sacrifice), and took on a dark fairy transformation, giving him a new form, but locking him out of the forms other fairies have. Being raised by a rather strict, traditional family, he doesn't share compassion for animals, making Ariel detest him as she learns more about him. However, he does have affection for the elderly. When trying to wipe the entire world's mind of fairies, he became overwhelmed and it destroyed his mind (and failed, thus why we still have fairy tales), making him the second of the Lords to fall and thus buried in a magical crypt by Ogron and Anagan. I'd base his appearance on Leonardo DiCaprio, and have him voiced by Zahn McClarnon, since I enjoyed him as Olrox in "Castlevania: Nocturne." His fashion sense would be very similar to Dante from the "Devil May Cry" video game, albeit blue.
Duman--Also a fairy in my rewrite, he was a fairy of shifting (ie he could shapeshift). He often downed himself as a loser, not strong as other fairies and eventually fell in with the wrong crowd, making his way into the Wizards of the Dark Circle. He strives to be useful, and due to insecurity, almost never appears as himself unless he's with the other lords. Unlike the other lords, he acknowledges that what he's doing isn't really ethical, but is fine with being bad because he has community. He's quite lonely, and it's mentioned that if he never met the wizards, and thus the lords are like family to him. He has a tendency for gambling, and it's noted that after being tricked by a clever fairy, he was forced to give up his magic power. The lords erased his mind of them, deciding to spare him the pain, and he married a human woman and had a family, which they knew he always wanted. His legacy in the magical world was not forgotten, but the mortal world never knew of him. I'd want his appearance inspired by Brendon Urie, as well as being voiced by Noel Fisher (who I know as Toad in "X-Men: Evolution") would be perfect for this. I'd probably keep his punk aesthetic, though I love him wearing green.
Hope you like these takes. Lemme know what you think, and if you ahve any questions. Next post for this will be the specialists!

How in the hell is Red Dwarf going to work without the Cat? (No harm to Kryten but the first 2 series were good without him)
And how in the hell are they going to be able to replace Craig Charles and Chris Barrie? Like I literally don't know how they're going to manage that.
And I'm not someone averse to a recast for iconic characters. I had zero problem with Star Trek recasting Kirk and co. They've done it twice now and I like all iterations of those characters.
But I've always honestly thought that they struck absolute gold with the casting of Craig and Chris (and also Danny), and I wholeheartedly believe that the show would probably have flopped without them (because let's be honest, Craig was right when he read the first few scripts and didn't find them funny - if you scratch too deep with a lot of the jokes, they weren't all that funny at all, it's how they were delivered by the actors that actually made them funny)
And I mean that's probably how Red Dwarf USA flopped (no, I've not seen it, I've vowed never to see it) - they openly said they couldn't find anyone that must have hated themselves enough to play Rimmer (poor Chris!). Cos let's be honest there's plenty of guys who could tick the boxes for Chris Barrie physically - fairly tall, white, solidly middle class, good comedic timing - but there's an x-factor at work there from Chris that turns a character who should never have amounted to anything other than a complete arsehole into a guy we almost universally love to pieces.
And with Craig, I might be wrong (forgive me if I am) but I don't think there's that many short, mixed race Liverpudlian actors out there, so there's fewer people who could play Lister and make us believe physically that it's actually Lister to begin with, and that's without taking into account all of the qualities Craig brought to the role along with - again - that certain x-factor that made a poorly educated juvenile slob into a surprisingly bright, believable leader and all round good guy.
Plus the chemistry between Craig and Chris themselves...that cannot be replicated cos a lot of it is rooted in the dynamic between the two actors themselves (them being complete opposites, really not liking each other at the start, who then slowly became good friends over many years), cos that parallel can be seen in their performances, and it was all to the show's benefit.
And to me the Cat was the perfect counterbalance to the main duo, especially at the start. Without him breaking up the show a little bit, it might have gotten too much just watching Lister and Rimmer antagonise each other. It would have been a two-hander of two men obsessed with irritating each other. The Cat brought a totally different and very welcome vibe to the show and his nonhuman behaviour really helped solidify the sci fi element, especially in a show where there's no aliens. I know the Cat won't be in Titan (cos if Lister does have a cat in Titan it'll be Frankenstein). That's maybe just as well because I think recasting the Cat would be even more difficult than recasting Rimmer and Lister.
Also, if they do go ahead with this recast, the very least they can do is consult Craig and Chris about it and get their input. After all, they've been playing these parts for 35 years now!
Just having a moan, feel free to disagree.

Here's my poster of my official version of my version for my DisneyElseWorld's Pixar's...
INSIDE OUT 2!
Tumblr media
I saw the new Inside Out 2 trailer, and they made Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Envy bad by betraying the old emotions. Lots of crazy stuff is about to happen! We don't know what's going on, lots of details are there too. But what would the ElseWorld version be like?
SO!
For my idea. I have 6 new emotions, the OC emotions like, Courage, Surprise, Pride, Trust, Shame, and Frustration.
MAIN VILLAIN
I am using on of my oc's Ego de Spite, to be the main villain of the au second movie.
OTHER CHARACTERS
Characters like Zee, the assistant of Ego, she runs the business with him but she tries to avoid him to help others. Bud, Courage's blood cell buddy, he doesn't speak but he's sweet, nervous, cute and got some attitude. And Brain, the big boss of Riley's mind, and the emotions need his help to stop Ego. And Mother Esteem, sweet old mind lady but very big (Disclaimer: Not in the poster).
Returning Cast like...
Amy Poehler as Joy, Bill Hader as Fear (YES! I'm bringing Bill Hader back! He's so much funnier then I expected), Lewis Black as Anger, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Kensington Tallman as Riley, Diane Lane as Mrs. Andersen, and Kyle MacLachlan as Mr. Andersen.
Recast Alert!
I actually like Liza Lapira playing Disgust. After what Mindy Kaling did in Velma, it wasn't enough for me. Because the show and her are piles of shit to me.
With All-Star Cast like...
Chris Pratt (The LEGO Movie 2) as the new outsidd leader emotion Courage, Sam Richardson (Hocus Pocus 2) as Surprise, Karen Gillan ( Doctor Who & the Jumanji films) as Frustration,
Andrew Rannells (Trolls Band Together) as Trust, Randall Park (Ant-Man And The Wasp) as Pride, Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh) as Shame, Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men films & Underdogs) as the villainous and hilarious, Ego de Spite,
Aubrey Plaza (Monsters At Work) as Ego's sarcastic female assistant, Zee, Michael Cera (Barbie & Superbad) as Ego's nerd assistant, Yes Man, Peter Sohn (Ratatouille & Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse) as The emotions new blood cell buddy, Bud, Wanda Sykes (the Ice Age films) as Mother Esteem,
with David Wain (The Bob's Burgers Movie) as Chairman the Mind Councilman, Yvette Nicole Brown (Drake & Josh) as Riley's middle school P.E. coach, Ms. Roberts, Brady Noon (TMNT: Mutant Mayhem) as Jordan, Jack Bright (The Good Dinosaur) as Riley's bully, Francis, & Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2 & Monsters University) as the smart, wise cracking, and big-headed mind boss himself, Brain.

There's something interesting going on with Aquaman 2, which is going to be overlooked, but I think it's a bellwether for this coming year.
Now, AM2 is flopping and you can go for the obvious reasoning that WB dumped it with barely any advertising because they're eager to have the DCEU done with and to launch into the Gunnverse. I'm not saying that's not a factor; clearly it is.
WB tried to have it both ways in the culture wars by not recasting or cutting out Amber Heard, but also minimizing her in the advertising. And what this has led to is both sides claiming victory, or 'victory.'
Abuse apologists are saying that Aquaman flopped because WB gave the impression that Heard was getting the boot, while Johnny Depp's supporters are saying it flopped because, actually, people aren't dumb and can just read a review that will tell them if Amber Heard is in the movie or not, whether or not she has a character poster (she doesn't).
And already we have Marvel ending the Krakoa era of X-Men comics with a nostalgic announcement saying "hey, we're going back to normal!"...
Tumblr media
But also insisting it'll still be as 'progressive' as ever.
Tumblr media
And I just can't help but think this is not going to prop up dwindling box office, comic sales, game sales, what have you. The woke stuff is cratering, but executives and 'creatives' are still gaga for it because they think being a feminist ally will get them laid at parties, so they're going to throw a figleaf to the fans who actually buy comics, while also talking out the other side of their mouth and making it clear it's just a figleaf and they're really still pushing the same old crap.
I don't think this mealy-mouthed two-facedness is going to win any fans. The woke are going to be upset that Marvel is backing off from the far-left queer utopia fantasy, even if it's only verbally (you can hear the rants about the death of Krakoa already), while sane people aren't going to be impressed by a literally surface level change of putting the old X-Men in their old costumes.
Tumblr media
So I think we're going to see a lot of companies lose a lot of money because they think they can serve two masters.

Have u seen about the Russo’s brothers saying they would like Chris to play Wolverine?
https://comicbook.com/marvel/news/russo-brothers-chris-evans-other-marvel-character-wolverine/
And this website says Chris could be a good Gambit
https://fandomwire.com/hes-nothing-like-captain-america-avengers-endgame-directors-want-chris-evans-to-return-as-wolverine-but-another-x-men-role-is-tailor-made-for-the-actor/
I don’t think Marvel would hire him to play another character after Steve Rogers, but I wonder if Chris would be interested in another comic movie.
*******************************
Okay, I adore Chris but absolutely not to both of these. First of all, if and when the time comes to recast Wolverine, it’s going to be VERY hard to top Hugh Jackman. That’s just a fact.
And Gambit? No. Remy LeBeau is from Louisiana. I believe even Cajun? (Someone can correct me if that’s false). That’s a VERY distinct accent that I’m not sure Chris could pull off. (I also didn’t love Taylor Kitsch as Remy)
All that being said, Chris has basically built his career on comic book/graphic novel movies (that’s not a bad thing!), but I’d like to see him move on to something else. 🧜🏻‍♀️

the various marvel-related concerns over whether canon is a cosmic imperative are interesting because the movies have generally been marked by an at best shaggy approach to a canon. the death of a captain is only in the sony spiderman movies, the x-men movies were actively at war with their own history, the mcu has recast actors and jettisoned unsuccessful plot points, the various marvel tv projects were siloed off from the movies for years, to the point where they were functionally separate universes, etc etc. it's maybe notable that both loki and ATSV aren't so much about the timeline being actually sacred so much as how trying to impose a sacred timeline is both impossible and megalomaniacal. weird that people are in here saying that's a middle finger to fans?
So in general, I would agree with you that film "universes" by their very nature tend to have a looser approach to canon, because actors aren't always available, creative teams change, different divisions of companies don't get along, rights issues come up, etc. Indeed, the whole idea of a film "universe" with a consistent canon is very new.
However...the "death of the captain" in ASTV isn't coming out of nowhere: the death of Captain Stacy was a big deal in 1970, and the idea of it loomed over Spider-Gwen in the comics, it was a big deal in the Garfield Spider-Man movies, and so forth.

1962 X-Men: First Class
X-Men!
A few changes for the ISC MCU version.
Moira and Hank work for S.H.I.E.L.D., not CIA. While they have been aware of powered people and mermen etc (and the dialogue should change to reflect this), they were not aware of a new type of human.
Alex Summers (Havok) is actually 15 pretending to be 18 so he can be tried and incarcerated as an adult as he thinks this is safer for everyone. Before his arrest Alex was living with his young divorcee mom (36), who went back to her maiden name, Summers. Dad disappeared.
The mutant gene can be carried or passed by either parent btw.
Angel could wear a halter neck as she does later on so she doesn't need to go topless to show them her power.
Darwin is a scientist/engineer instead of a taxi driver. And he DOESN'T DIE! He can't die, he just adapts, that's his whole thing. He eventually adapts to Havok's energy blast and survives, but is severely injured. We see his body's miraculous recovery during the training montage. OR…he just shoots Shaw back and Shaw's like…'Well, we could do this all day. Toodles.'
Moira helps the first class with fight training (except Charles, he is "not a fighter").
Must find a way to get Darwin and Angel Salvatore more involved with the plot. Give Angel some proper motivation for switching sides and some dialogue afterwards.
Recast Emma with Margot Robbie and give her more attitude and agency.
Eric does not kiss Raven as he just said she is too young for him and noted that she is just trying to get back at Hank for something. He still says that her natural form is nothing to be ashamed of, but they do not have a romantic relationship. Moira is revealed early on as a mutant and has a vast wealth of knowledge from several lifetimes. She knew she had been reincarnated but didn't know it was due to a mutation. She agrees to not go back to X-mansion so as not to give game away. And that means you can cut the '...a kiss...' line. She will be pleasantly surprised to see Charles in Apocalypse instead of mind wiped. It's best you forget about me er, us etc. adds Charles but without the mind wipe.
