The WWE Women's Division

This division is a mess and yet it is still somehow head and shoulders (maybe just shoulders?) above the AEW equivalent. The problem isn't the talent, I should hope that much is obvious, but rather the way in which the talent is utilised.

So, here is what I'd do with the division.

Scrap the Women's Tag Team titles. Vince McMahon is not a fan of tag team wrestling and these titles have never been anything close to a priority. The division is non-existent, with challengers hastily thrown together when they need to fill a spot on a show, or if they want to turn someone using the old "you've been holding me back" trope.

Keep the belts. Yes, I think they should keep the belts and, provided they reconcile with the company, keep them on Naomi and Sasha. I'll come back to this idea.

Unify the Raw and Smackdown Women's World Championships. Sorry, but the division isn't strong enough or deep enough (thanks to budget cuts!) to support two world champions. Also, the writing team seem to really struggle to come up with more than one coherent story for this division which, now that I think about it, doesn't bode well for the rest of my suggestions.

Put the unified title on Rousey, turn her heel and have Bianca chase her until Wrestlemania, with some distractions and obstacles along the way, obviously. I know people want or at least expect Becky vs. Ronda at Wrestlemania 39, but Bianca is great at chasing and the narrative of her winning three different world titles at three consecutive Wrestlemanias in three MOTY calibre matches is just too good.

This is the most 'shouldn't be but is' out there suggestion, bring back the current tag team titles as brand exclusive midcard titles, keep Naomi and Sasha as the initial champs and put some actual effort into booking them. Just do a better job with them than you have with the IC and US titles. After the current holders have had a reasonable run, transition them onto younger superstars (oh hi there Rhea Ripley!).

TBH, I'd let Naomi hold onto her title a little longer than Sasha, partly because she'll need a title when she joins the Bloodline and partly because Sasha should be World title picture again sooner rather than later.

That's it, from there you can consistently have three major Women's programs, utilising 6 - 9 of the crazy talented performers you have on your roster at any one time. Plus, it's easier to progress storylines that have a title involved, so that'll save the creative team from having to use any of that creativity.

As with every WWE booking situation, the key thing for them to remember is, that you don't need to make every other competitor on the roster look ridiculous/helpless/weak, just to make your top star look strong. Booking for a sports-entertainment show isn't a zero-sum proposition. And we know they can make it work when they want to, as seen by the Raquel Rodriguez/Ronda Rousey match they recently had on Smackdown.

LAS VEGAS - Spettacolare e ruvido combattimento tra Emmanuel "Vaquero" NAVARRETE (38-1-1) e il brasiliano Robson CONCEICAO (17-2-1) già oro olimpico a Tokio e già avversario di Shakur Stevenson. Dalla sfida ne è uscito un sorprendente verdetto di majority draw (114-112 per Navarrete e due 113-113) che consente al 28enne messicano di mantenere comunque la corona WBO dei Superpiuma.

Conceicao ha iniziato forte mettendo in luce un difetto già visto altre volte nel campione e cioè la necessità di carburare qualche ripresa prima di entrare in azione. Poi, durante il quarto round, il sinistro di Navarrete mandava al tappeto lo sfidante che incassava per ripartire in avanti. Nella settima ripresa un duro montante al corpo da parte di Navarrete rimandava "kd" Conceicao il quale, anche questa volta, ripartiva a testa bassa disputando un decimo round incredibile, momento in cui il campione messicano è apparso prima sull'orlo del baratro e poi ad un passo dalla vittoria. Quando per Navarrete sembrava ormai fatta, Conceicao aveva un colpo di coda durante una dodicesima ed ultima ripresa di fuoco che gli permetteva di salvare il salvabile strappando così il pareggio.

Molto probabilmente assisteremo ad una rivincita tra i due. Per Navarrete, campione in tre categorie di peso differenti, si è trattato del tredicesimo combattimento per un titolo mondiale.

Palestine Film Index is a growing list of films from and about Palestine and the Palestinian struggle for liberation, made by Palestinians and those in solidarity with them. The index starts with films from the revolutionary period (68 - 82) made by the militant filmmakers of the Palestine Film Unit and their allies, and extends through a multitude of voices to the present day. It is by no means a complete or exhaustive representation of the vast universe that is Palestinian cinema, but is only a small fragmentary list that we hope nontheless can be used as an instrument of study & solidarity. As tools of knowledge against zionist propaganda and towards Palestinian liberation.

The century long war against Palestinians by the zionist project is one waged not only militarily but also culturally. The act of filmmaking, preservation, and distribution becomes an act against this attempted cultural erasure of ethnic cleansing. The power inherent in this form as a weapon against the genocidal project of zionism is evidenced in the ways it has been historically & currently targeted by the occupation forces: from the looting & stealing of the Palestine Cinema Institute archives during the siege of Beirut in 1982, through the long history of targeted assassinations of Palestinian filmmakers, journalists, artists, & writers (from PFU founder Hani Jawharieh, to Ghassan Kanafani, Shireen Abu Akleh, Refaat Alareer, and the over 100 journalists killed in the currently ongoing war on Gaza).

It is in this spirit of the use of film and culture as a way of focusing & transmitting information & knowledge that we hope this list can be used as one in an assortment of educational tools against hasbara (a coordinated and intricate system of zionist propaganda, media manipulation, & social engineering, etc) and all forms of propaganda that is weaponized against the Palestinian people. Zionist media & its collaborators remain one of the most effective fronts of the war, used to manufacture consent through deeply ingrained psychological manipulation of the general public agency. Critical and autonomous thought must be used as a tool of dismantling these frameworks. In this realm, film can play a vital roll in your toolkit/arsenal. Film must be understood as one front of the greater resistance. We hope in some small way we can help to distribute these manifestations of Palestinian life and the struggle towards liberation.

This list began as small aggregation to share among friends and comrades in 2021 and has since expanded to the current and growing form (it is added to almost every day). We have links for through which each film can be viewed along with descriptions, details such as run time, year, language, etc. We also have a supplemental list of related materials (texts, audio, supplemental video) that is small but growing. We have added information on contacts for distributors and filmmakers of each film in order to help people or groups who are interested in using this list to organize public screenings of these films. The makers of this list do not control the rights to these films and we strongly urge those interested in screening the works to get in touch with the filmmaker or distributors before doing so.
