I love how ominous such basic names like "The Organization" or "The Institute" or "The Initiative" or "The Facility" or etc. are when placed in like a shady sci-fi context, like there's no reason for them to sound that suspicious, but without elaboration, it's like here is a place where they are doing things™ and I am like ooohh, because the blank state, the refusal to give you any more detail makes you think they're hiding something on purpose and leaves the darkest corner of the imagination left to fill in the rest.

honestly this isn't like, to say herbert is super niceys in canon BUT. i feel like if he actually succeeded in bombing the player, rookie, gary (and likely dot as well- i dont remember if the original epf command room was destroyed when the psa hq was) he'd probably not feel 100% happy about it. murder is in fact, a big deal! and while i'm not saying he'd instantly regret it i wouldnt be surprised if he'd feel SOME kind of way if he did succeed, even if he was mostly like "YAAAAY THOSE ANNOYING BIRDS ARE FINALLY DEAD". like yknow, even if i write my herbert to be Meaner and Nastier post blackout its not like i see even my herbert and especially not canons as someone who is Only Evil All The Time, i genuinely think this man would be at least slightly conflicted once the whole 'i actually succeeded in killing them' thing kicked in. and while he was obviously thrilled to bits about taking over the island and freezing the epf's leads, freezing them isn't exactly the same as killing them since as we know, even though it can have negative effects like gary saying he'd been having medical issues after being dethawed it's not permanent like being Killed-

I generally have a grudge against Halloween decor, because I think a lot of it is cute, but then it's all cheap plastic crap that's already chipped or will start to the moment you take it home. With that in mind: look, Michaels, if I wanted to decorate my house with dirty legbones I'd just go find some real ones in the woods or something.

Something that's always bothered me when talking about villain redemptions, specifically the idea of "people don't need to forgive them for them to be allowed to be redeemed" and such is a specific scenario of, say, an evil dictator/supervillain/high profile person (such as the Diamonds from SU, among others). That they can (and certainly should, imo) be allowed to live on and find their own happiness and even find ways to help undo the harm they caused.
But, you know. Having positive connections and relationships with other people is a huge part of having a good life, and is certainly some kind of motivation to keep helping others, to stay good and redeemed. But if you were known (and resented) by enough people (a whole country, kingdom, planet) and nobody forgives you... what are supposed to do?
If nobody wants to be your friend, wants you around them, wants your help, what's left for you then? Do you just remove yourself from society and live as a hermit for the rest of your miserable lonely life? Is a life without friendship and forgiveness one even worth living at that point? Why bother going on if no one can find it in themselves to like you even after you saw the error of your ways? At best, what's there to motivate you to not hurt people anymore if it doesn't matter to anyone that you don't hurt people anymore?

Dude I'm just going to stop fucking masking if people keep looking at me like I'm a homeless creep when I wear one. It's literally not my fault I have dark skin, don't want my ears to freeze off, am trying to survive the COVID wave without causing myself more respiratory issues, and my thickest winter coat is dark green. I've been able to avoid flak the rest of the year by wearing a wide-brimmed sun hat with the mask and masquerade as some kind of pseudo-goth but that's not an option in a New England winter. Anti-maskers DNI I'm just pissed off, and white pro-maskers or poc pro-maskers from anywhere that doesn't suffer freezing winters also DNI unless you're willing to drop the "but" at the end of "yeah that was wrong of them".

Just watched Nimona. I genuinely don't know what to comment about, this movie was unrealistically good. What. I laughed, cried, FELT SEEN??, got mad, got very happy, basically the full package. 10/10 will be forcing every human being i come across to watch it.

Do you think that the whole Sunfire arc is extremely unnecessary? A lot of people including myself believe this arc diverts attention away from the main arc
Hobbit critics when Thranduil captures the dwarves and generally acts as a snare, slowing their progress toward their stated goal and the resolution of final plot: why did they even come here, this guy's an ass and he serves no narrative purpose except to get in the way
Me, knowing Thrandul Oropherion's full character arc leads him to participate in the War of the Ring and help save Middle-earth as a direct result of his character growth in the Hobbit:
