Chapter eight, Not one's enemy

*1.st p.o.v, Tuesday,*

‘Come on…! Ring already!’ I thought in anticipation as I looked at the clock on the white wall.

And frankly the bell signalled the end of the class. “Alright students, see you tomorrow!” the maths professor waved her hand and walked out.

I got up, dusted off my skirt and opened the classroom doors.

When I walked out, the hallways were crowded as usual. I tried to squeeze between the students without accidentally stepping on anybody.

All of a sudden a hand grabbed my shoulder and pulled me aside,

I didn’t even have time to see who it was because I was slammed into their chest.

“Y/n-chan… Glad I grabbed you just in time, or else you would be toppled over by the other students.” said a familiar voice.

Wait

Akiyama?

I looked up and I was met with Akiyama’s piercing dark blue eyes. “Oh, Akiyama-san- You didn’t have to…” I said as I tried to move away from him but his grip on my shoulder didn’t budge.

He laughed softly and a few of his bangs fell over his eyes, “Oh, Y/n… You’re always in a hurry to be somewhere.”.

I laughed dryly at him and tried to wiggle out of his grip, “Yeah, what can I say? But seriously I need to go now, Akiyama-san.” I told him.

This was getting more and more uncomfortable…

The halfway was now empty, since everyone went outside or went somewhere else. And now, it was just Akiyama and me.

“Why don’t we go to the yard and we can hang out with my friends? And don’t worry, they’ll like you in a matter of seconds.” Akiyama said as his hand travelled down my arm and wrapped around my waist.

Just as he was about to pull me closer, a gruff voice stopped him,

“I think she told you to let her go , jackass.” said Jotaro as he walked near us. ‘Thank the heavens and everything above! ’ I thought as relief washed over me.

Does he have some kind of sensor when I get in trouble?

Akiyama didn’t budge at his words, “Oh? Well hello Jotaro, quite rude of you for interrupting our conversation over here, right Y/n-chan?” he said as he smirked in my direction.

I furrowed my eyebrows slightly at him and now I used more force and wrenched from his grip on my waist.

Akiyama scoffed at us, “Oh come on, would you rather choose to go with that imbecile Kujo than me?”. I raised my eyebrow and looked at Akiyama and then Jotaro.

“You’re really asking this question?” I asked Akiyama in beliverment.

He shrugged his shoulders, “I’m just curious, that’s all.”. I scoffed in disbelief, “Alright, if you want to know so badly- Let’s go JoJo-” I said as I walked to Jotaro, grabbed his arm and tugged him with me.

“Alright, have it your way Y/n-chan…” Akiyama snarled as he was left standing alone.

The good thing was that the stairs to the rooftop were in our direction. “What in the fuck was that…” I puffed out loudly as we entered through the doors.

Jotaro closed the doors and I let go of his arm. “Hope that is enough for an answer to him.” I said.

Jotaro stiffly nodded and sat by the wall. I sighed and sat next to him. “Are you alright, Jotaro? You seem a bit too quiet even for yourself…” I asked Jotaro who only sighed,

“I’m fine, just that dumbass getting on my nerves…” he exhaled as he tipped his hat down. I nodded in agreement, “After talking to him at the aquarium, I’ve been seeing him more and more around school.” I told Jotaro.

“Eh, probably because he is a pest or something.” Jotaro rolled his eyes. I laughed at his remark, “Hahaha, you’re right… I thought he was, y’know, a normal person… But that reminds me, when will we be doing our investigation at the aquarium?” I whispered the last part to him.

Jotaro neared my face a bit and looked me into the eyes. “We can go on Saturday, but of course at night. I’ll ask the old man if he has some flashlights- I know he has a bunch of bullshit with him.” Jotaro also whispersred.

I slightly gulped, “Alright… Just don’t leave me alone there, okay?” I pleaded with the best puppy eyes I could muster up.

I probably looked so ridiculous because Jotaro raised an eyebrow at me in confusion,

“Why… are you doing that?” he looked at me, a bit weirded out. “I’m begging you to not leave me on my own at the aquarium…” I said as I clasped my hands together in a pleading position.

“Good grief, for the last time I’m not leaving you. Even if somehow you do end up alone, you do have your stand, but you still need more practice. You may end up hurting yourself.”

I nodded in agreement, trying not to blush, “Yeah, that makes sense…”. After a few quiet minutes passed we decided to get up and go our separate ways.

“See you after class, Jotaro!” I exclaimed as I waved at him and entered my classroom.

*time skip to end of school*

After all the classes ended I walked out of school and saw Jotaro waiting by the gates.

“Hey, JoJo!” I waved at him and he nodded his head, greeting me back. “How were your classes?” Jotaro asked me as we started to walk towards my house.

I sighed and groaned, “It was awful… Our maths teacher gave us a pop quiz and I didn’t even study anything!”

What I wasn’t expecting was to hear Jotaro laugh.

I looked beside me and sure as hell he was smiling and laughing quietly. “Don’t laugh at me! It’s not my fault I have other priorities!” I fired back, trying to defend myself.

He calmed down a bit and sighed, “That’s why I skip…”

I rolled my eyes at him, “Another reason why you shouldn’t be laughing at me…” I puffed out my cheeks in annoyance. Jotaro shook his head and chuckled, “Whatever you say, Y/n…”.

I rolled my eyes jokingly and sighed. We had about 5 minutes until we arrived at my house. None of us said anything, the comfortable silence filling in.

“Are you completely sure you’re ready to go to the aquarium on Saturday?” Jotaro asked me once we arrived in front of my house fence.

“Pfft- Of course! It will be a piece of cake!” I reassured him, even though I was kind of scared going there.

Jotaro nodded - “Alright… But I need your number.”. I looked at him curiously and he coughed a little. “If I need to call you about our investigation at the aquarium, of course.”

He filled in as he slightly blushed.

I laughed a little, “Of course! Let me grab a pen-” I said as I set down my bag and pulled out a black ink pen. As I got up I reached over his arm and rolled up the right sleeve of his gakuran.

“What are you-” “Shush! I’m writing down my number.” I shushed down Jotaro who only grumbled. After I wrote down my number, I drew a little heart next to it.

I giggled slightly, “Heheh, here you go, JoJo…”. I let go of his arm and he looked at the written number.

He mumbled something but I couldn't hear it, “What was that JoJo?” I teased as I looked him in the eyes.

“N-Nothing.” He replied as he rolled down his sleeve and tipped his hat. “I’ll be going now-” he said as he speedly walked away from me.

“It’s time for me to take revenge for you laughing at me, JoJo …” I smirked evilly. “Angel Eyes!” I whisper-shouted and surely, my stand was summoned next to me.

It was still a weird feeling when summoning her, but I’m sure with more practice it will feel normal.

She looked at me with the same smirk and giggled quietly. “You see that pile of leaves, Angel?” I asked her and she nodded. “Well, let’s see how Jotaro would like them…” I said and she nodded.

Angel waved her finger a bit and the leaf pile that was near Jotaro flew up and circled around him, making him stop and try to swat them away.

“Star Platinum!” Jotaro shouted and his stand appeared, making Angel stop swirling the leaves with the wind around him. “Oops-” I said as I quickly made Angel disappear and rushed into my house.

Once I entered I slammed my doors and started to laugh. “Oh- Oh God-” I wheezed as I clutched my stomach.

‘I think I found my new hobby…’ I thought as I took off my shoes, greeted mom and walked to my room to take a big nap…

*Time skip to Friday night, 3.rd p.o.v*

Jotaro sighed as he walked over to the little table with the phone on it. He could hear the loud TV show that Joseph was laughing at even all the way up to his room.

“Good grief-” Jotaro groaned as he wanted to break that TV remote that Joseph was holding.

He was wearing a dark grey tank top with black sweatpants and a pair of fluffy bunny slippers.

Jotaro looked at his right arm to read the number Y/n wrote for him.

He rotated the digits on the dial and as he came to the last one, he noticed the little heart. Jotaro smiled a little and pressed the phone to his ear.

It rang a few times until somebody picked up.

“Hello! Who is this?” asked the voice of an older woman. Jotaro panicked slightly but calmed down, “...I’m Jotaro Kujo… is Y/n here?”. The woman softly laughed.

“Oh~ You’re that Kujo guy that Y/n’s been gushing non stop about? And yes she is here, let me just call her over- Y/N L/N! A BOY NAMED JOTARO KUJO IS CALLING AND HE SAYS HE NEEDS TO TALK TO YOU!”

Jotaro could hear distant shouting, which was probably Y/n.

“-Okay, thanks, now go away-” a breathy voice rang out. “Hi, JoJo!” Y/n greeted as she took a deep breath.

“Hi… You probably know why I’m calling you.” Jotaro said as he ran a hand through his hair.

Y/n sighed, “Yeah… I found a flashlight in the basement, but my mom needed the batteries for the TV remote… Do you maybe have one that I could borrow?” she awkwardly laughed.

“As I said, my old man carries a ton of shit with him. Not only did he have two flashlights for some reason but also rabbit food-” Jotaro shook his head. Y/n laughed, “It’s probably for your bunny slippers-” she snorted at her joke.

Jotaro groaned and ran his palm across his face, “Good grief… You know what, I’m reconsidering bringing you a flashlight now-” “No! Don’t! I was only joking!” Y/n interrupted him quickly.

He rolled his eyes, “Whatever… I still don’t know why you are panicking so much. The aquarium is temporarily closed, so nobody is even supposed to be inside.”.

Y/n sighed, “Yeah, you are right… Then it’s settled. See you at your house at 10 p.m.?” .

“See you, then… And… goodnight, Y/n…” Jotaro softly whispered. “Goodnight to you too, JoJo.” Y/n replied back as she put the phone down,

Jotaro put the phone in its place and exhaled deeply. He walked back to his room and laid on his bed. Tonight it seemed that we won't sleep a wink….

* Time skip to Saturday at 10 p.m.*

Y/n waited before her mother went to sleep and she quickly snuck out. She ran to Jotaro’s house and panted while she neared it.

“My lungs-” she wheezed out as she stopped in front of Jotaro’s huge house.

She saw a figure approaching her, and she figured it was Jotaro.

“Oh, JoJo! Hi!” she waved at him. “You’re ready?” he asked as he tossed her a flashlight, which she swiftly caught.

“Ready as I’ll ever be!” Y/n quietly exclaimed as they both started to walk away from his house. The crickets were making the ambiance more calm, but the eerie full moon didn't make it any better,

“We’ll just look around for some clues, and go out. Nothing special…” Jotaro said as they walked slowly. Y/n nodded as she clutched her flashlight, “Arlight…”.

Once they arrived at the aquarium they were met with closed doors and a sign.

DO NOT ENTER

UNDER POLICE INVESTIGATION

-All the fish has been transported to the Aquatic Sanctuary for the time being-

Jotaro rolled his eyes, “Stupid sign-” he said as he teared it off and opened the doors. “And they didn’t lock them…?” Y/n whispered as the both of them entered the aquarium.

What they didn’t expect was that the floor was wet and slippery.

“Oh jeez- I should’ve bought some boots…” Y/n quietly groaned. Jotaro turned on his flashlight and scanned the aquarium entrance.

Besides the floor being completely wet, there was a stream of water leaking from where the glass tunnel was.

There was some light coming from the dolphin tank on the other side.

As Y/n was about to say something a loud shouting echoed around, stopping Jotaro and Y/n in their tracks.

They both looked at each other and Jotaro immediately shut off his flashlight.

They quietly approached the wall and listened closely to the screaming voice.

“COME ON, TELL ME, WHERE IS IT ?!” a male voice hollered out.

Y/n’s eyes widened in panic as she grasped Jotaro’s hand without thinking. He glanced at their intertwined hands and slightly squeezed her hand, trying to comfort her as best as he could.

“I- I don’t know, Akiyama-san… Aiko was supposed to have it and give it to me-”

Jotaro slightly peaked from the wall and he was met with frightful sight.

The one and only, Akiyama Kenshin , with his clothes and hair wet, towering over the brown haired girl.

Jotaro’s eyes widened at the scene. Thank goodness that Akiyama’s back was facing them…

“WELL SHE ISN’T HERE, IS SHE!?” Akiyama roared furiously as he neared the trembling girl.

Tears welled up in Yamaguchi’s eyes, “I’m so sorry, Akiyama-san…” she whimpered as she cowered away from the fuming student.

“You useless harlot! I gave you one task and your incompatible arse couldn’t even do it properly!” The black haired guy grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and brought her closer to him.

“If I knew you would be so worthless to my plan, I would have gotten rid of you months ago…” he sneered and Yamaguchi cried out.

“N-No- Please don’t-” “SHUT UP!” Akiyama shouted as he roughly threw her on the flooded floor.

Jotaro was debating on whether he should intertwine or not, but all of a sudden he felt Y/n peek below him.

“O-Oh God… We have to help her, JoJo…!” Y/n whispered to Jotaro who grasped her shoulder and tried to pull her back but she slipped up and fell forward.

Akiyama swiftly turned around and his eyes widened, giving him an even more maniacal look.

“Y-Y/n… What a pleasure to see you here…” he said sweetly as he started to approach her. She panicked and her breathing picked up pace. “Hi… Akiyama-san…” she quietly whispered as she tried to get up.

In a flash a string of watter tied around her legs, preventing her from getting up.

“Good try, love… I bet that your prince on a white horse isn’t here to save you is he?” Akiyama taunted the h/c haired girl. Y/n tried to wrench from the water strings but to no avail.

“He should be your last concern now- Angel Eyes!” Y/n shouted and her stand appeared next to her.

Akiyama gaped at Y/n’s stand, “Is this the work from one of my Stand Arrows…?”. Y/n rolled her eyes, “It seems so- Now get ready to feel it!” she shouted and Angel blew a strong gust of wind towards Akiyama, sending him flying until he slammed against the glass barrier of the dolphin tank.

“GAH- You wrench-” Akiyama cried out as he got up. ‘Why didn’t the water strings come off!?’ Y/n thought in panic as she saw Akiyama slowly approaching her.

“Well… you certainly have an interesting stand. It would be a good addition to my plan.” Akiyama said as he clenched his fists and from the flooded floor rose a liquid human-like mass.

“Meet my stand, Blue Lagoon…” Akiyama said with pride in his voice.

His stand was closely similar to Aiko’s, but unlike her stand it was see-through and it had more resemblance to a human being.

It had a pair of dark blue colored eyes and metal platinum pieces of armour all over its body with much of its body still exposed.

“Good thing I don’t fucking care-” Y/n groaned and Angel Eyes sent another gust of wind towards Akiyama, but this time he blocked it with a water shield.

“Huh, rather interesting…” Akiyama rolled his eyes at Y/n’s failed attack.

“You still have time for practice, sweetheart… But I guess I’ll be teaching you an important lesson now…” Akiyama shrugged his shoulders as his stand waved his fingers and tied her wrists and neck with the water strings, making her completely imobile.

Akiyama laughed but was soon knocked out on the floor by a familiar purple stand.

“Go eat shit, you lunatic.” Jotaro’s voice boomed through the aquarium.

Y/n sighed in relief, well as much as she could, due to the ropes of water that were tightly tied around her neck. Akiyama groaned in pain as he got up on his arms and legs.

As blood dripped down his mouth and nose, it diluted in the water. “Jotaro… Good timing…” Akiyama coughed up more blood as he shakily got up.

Jotaro rolled his eyes, “What can I say, I hate being late… Star Platinum! Finish him!” he shouted and as Star was about to punch Blue Lagoon, it melted making Star fly past it.

Akiyama smirked at Jotaro, “That’s all you can do? Punch like a baby?”.

Blue lagoon pulled out more water strings and they wrapped around Jotaro’s wrists, neck, and ankles, forcing him to the ground.

“Remember you two, you’re in my domain now…” Akiyama snarled as Blue Lagoon appeared beside him and tightened the rings of water around their necks.

Both of them tried to wrench out but it was impossible.

Akiyama laughed as he observed the two stands. “I guess I’ll be getting rid of you two too…” he rolled his blue eyes.

“A-Angel…” Y/n wheezed out and her stand nodded her head. This time, Angel twisted her both wrists in Akiyama’s direction, making an even stronger blast of wind that sent him flying into the glass barrier.

As his body was sent into the glass barrier, he broke through it. Making millions of glass shards scatter around the floor.

His stand, Blue Lagoon, melted back into the water on the floor, making the water strings around Jotaro’s and Y/n’s bodies burst off. They took deep breaths in and out, appreciating the oxygen.

“C-Come on, JoJo…” Y/n got up, her clothes and hair all soaked up. She walked over to Jotaro and outstretched her hand for him to grab it. Jotaro smiled lightly and grabbed her hand and got up.

They headed over to the dolphin tank, which was half empty and had Akiyama’s body swimming in it. “Star Platinum! Go grab him!” Jotaro instructed his stand as Y/n went to Yamaguchi’s unconscious body.

Star pulled out the unconscious stand user and placed him next to Yamaguchi. “What are we going to do with them now, JoJo?” Y/n asked as she stood next to Jotaro.

“We’re tying them up here…” he sighed as he walked away to find a substitute for rope.

“Alright…” Y/n mumbled out as she stayed with the two unconscious bodies. Once Jotaro returned with a crime scene tape in his hands, they placed Akiyama and Yamaguchi in a sitting position so that their backs were facing.

Firstly tied their hands together, and then then bodies together.

“This will have to do…” Jotaro sighed as he cracked his knuckles. Y/n nodded tiredly, “I hope it does… But now we have to go out before anything more happens…” she mumbled out as she reached out to feel round her neck.

This would definitely leave a bruise…

They walked out and started to walk home in their soaked clothes. Shivers went down Y/n’s spine, but she tried not to show it.

After a few minutes of her constant shivering, a strong arm was placed across her shoulder and pulled her in.

“Can you stop shivering now? It’s getting annoying…” Jotaro mumbled as a slight blush covered his cheeks. “U-Uh, thank you JoJo…” Y/n mumbled out as she smiled at the kind gesture.

Once they neared Y/n house, Y/n yawned. “This was… certainly interesting I must say…” Jotaro said as he still had his arm around Y/n’s shoulder. Y/n hummed in agreement as she slightly snuggled into his arm.

“And… I don’t say this often so don’t expect me to repeat myself… But you were really tough out there…” Jotaro mumbled as he slid off his shoulder from Y/n.

“Thank you, JoJo. You two were really badass!” she complimented him and he smiled.

“But- Before you go-” Y/n muttered out as she placed her hands on his cheeks and brought him down to her level. “Take this as a thank you gift…” she whispered as she placed her cold lips against Jotaro’s.

His eyes widened in shock, his whole body froze on the spot. As if time had stopped right there, as they stood in front of her house. Her lips were soft and cold against his slightly chapped ones.

Jotaro closed his eyes and pulled her closer by wrapping his arms around her waist. After a few seconds, they pulled away, both panting a bit.

“I… This … This was my first kiss…” Jotaro swallowed as fiery red blush climbed up his neck and cheeks.

Y/n giggled, “Heh, mine to…”. They stayed in the embrace for a few minutes until Jotaro unwrapped his arms and coughed.

Y/n smiled as her cheeks got even more red, “See you on monday, JoJo…” she waved at him gently and quietly entered her house.

Jotaro was left standing alone in front of her house. He softly placed his fingers over his lips as his breath trembled.

His heart was racing against his chest, making him think that it would jump out.

“See you on Monday too…” he sighed as he slowly started to walk back to his house, with a soft smile on his lips.

Once he got to his house and changed into his pyjamas, he laid on his bed and exhaled.

The moon shone its bright rays into his room, illuminating it in a soft white glow. Jotaro imagines how Y/n was snuggled into him and closed his eyes.

His thoughts carried him into the land of dreams and made him feel even more warmth as he hugged one of his pillows.

Love truly is a bizarre thing, isn’t it?
