All You Need to Know to Prepare for Clat
With the aim to streamline entrance tests to law schools, the government had some time back devised a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for admissions to candidates in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses. Based on the ranking obtained in CLAT, students are then able to gain admission in the country’s law schools. This also applies for colleges offering llb course in West Bengal.
Over the last few years now, CLAT has become the standard to gain entrance to the top law schools in India which are the 22 National Law Universities (NLUs). Additionally, forty other private law colleges and universities across India including those that offer llb course in West Bengal provide admission to candidates in UG and PG law courses on the basis of CLAT scores. Therefore, with just one law entrance exam, candidates get admission opportunities at prominent law schools in India. Clat is an offline test comprising of 150 questions conducted for a duration of 2 hours. However, there are some colleges in many states which do conduct courses without CLAT. For instance, llb course in west bengal in some colleges are also done in this manner.
