Vinnie is a born and bred NC streetkid. His families origin lies in Chile, a couple of generations back. He is an only child and loses his parents early, gets taken in by his grandma, and stays with her until he's 12ish . His grandmother loved him but couldn't handle him, he got into lots of streetfights, roamed the streets of Night City on his own, getting to know every nook and cranny in the process, getting into all kinds of trouble - stealing, brawling, breaking and entering. After his grandmother's death (she passes while he'son one of his day-long random disappearances), he lives on the street for some time, going hungry a lot of times. He makes a meager living by doing bareknuckle fights for money. On one of those fights, a gang member of the Valentinos sees him and takes him under their wings. He gets shelter, food and training to become a merc. He leaves the Valentinos to become a solo merc. He had been working the odd small jobs for various fixers around town while in the Valentinos, but all the money from these gigs went to the gang. Wakako offers him his first serious money gig under the condition that he leaves the gang and works for her exclusively for a time. He agrees before he knows what the job is, because he feels very drawn to Wakako - she reminds him of his grandmother - just deadlier, of course. He learns that the job is to take care of her 4th husband. He does not hesitate to do it - and becomes her favorite merc in the process.

Despite his childhood experience and through meeting/living with good people (him and his grandmother have a very loving relationship, he loves and cherishes her) he keeps a positive outlook on life in general, knowing he can always get by and take care of himself.

Once upon a time I promised 5 facts about V, so!!!!

1. V is actually a professional katana wielder. She was taught by Tanaka-san, an old ex-Tyger Claws member, since she was a kid. She's been introduced to him by Wakako who saw potential in a Heywood street rat. He also taught her an art of throwing knives and some martial arts. Old man was doing it for free since he didn't have any family and lidol V was kinda cute and also kept him a company. V trained under his wing until he died of old age when she was 18.

2. V's mother, Martina, was a carjacker and an auto mechanic and she taught V to drive a car when her lidol legs finally reached the pedals sjhdksksksksks so V's a pro at driving cars but mostly prefers bikes even though she learned to drive them much later and now and then she still DOES fall off her bike which keeps her awake at night sjdhsjshshss she's super embarrassed every time.

3. V actually has stepsiblings!!!! Since her mom was kinda a mistress of a married man her stepdad already had kids - Raphael and Lynda. V's stepdad made her go on family gatherings (Martina never went tho) and boy that was always tense. The kids hated V's guts for her being now dad's favorite kid. Considering V's temper I'd say she was really trying to make it work so she finally broke Lynda's nose in like just a year. Raphael and V grew closer after their (step)dad dying and were helping each other with the grief and remained kinda civil with each other but Lynda never changed her mind and would sell V for a corn chip.

4. V's obsessed with soda. I often sneak a soda can in the shots dsjfsfkjsfkhj she can drink like 6-7 cans a day. SHE SHOULD WORRY ABOUT DIABETES I KNOW..... At least she doesn't eat anything sweet besides that😭

5. V was convicted for vandalism and robbery when she was a teen💀 then she learned how to run from the badges sdjsahkjla

1. Demons of War: Is there a job that has left a permanent mark on your OC?

This is going to sound cheesy, but Vincenzo would say the one job that changed his life was the job where he met Jackie and took him to Night City. It's the first 'solo' gig he ever took, right after leaving the Bakker clan after they turned Raffen. He'd smuggled live animals plenty of times in his nomad years, even with a few tense border crossings, but not often did they lead to shootouts with corporate drones. Even his first few jobs with Jackie, under the watchful eyes of Regina and Wakako, pale in comparison to that fateful night.

5. Where the Bodies Hit the Floor: Is your OC vengeful? If not, what would it take for them to seek revenge?

Vincenzo is almost worryingly easygoing in contrast to his relatively cold sisters, and even when wronged it's second nature for him to forgive and forget. Everybody has their own problems, right? It's a rough town, no need to get worked up over somebody trying to get theirs.

The exception to this are Wraiths. He blames whole banished lot of them for what happened to his old clan, and even before their dissolution he had seen plenty of what was left after the Wraiths had taken their due. As far as he's concerned, they're all guilty of the same crimes.

6. Bloody Ritual: Does your OC have any pre or post mission rituals or superstitions?

This is more of a superstition, and one that comes from being a kid who tinkers too much: he's named all his favorite guns and cars, and will frequently talk to them when he's alone on the job or doing any maintenance. He's a little embarrassed by it but at the same time, he can't help but feel attached to the tools he's put so much time and effort into maintaining. He frequently dismantles old gear to improve his favorites and takes pride in customizing everything to his needs. This only gets worse once he finds Skippy...

Ty for the ask! :3 <333 I also just want to say I love your work and how welcoming and uplifting you are to so many folks. Honestly, I've been feeling kind of good lately about what I've made, which is a nice change of pace. And I'm most invested in my longfic the damn things overlap. Posting the first few chapters is what got me to really commit to writing again, and then to actually stop lurking and join fandom, which has been a blast! This fic is especially near and dear because creating and writing Valentine has been... so self-indulgent. An enby character who is just a total mess, and particularly one who has so many conflicting traits and is always at war with herself. She loves being a corpo, even though it requires her to put so much effort into playing her role. She defaults to being friendly and pleasant and is entirely ruthless. She's mean but not evil, so sometimes she helps people out just because. She's morally flexible and all she really wants out of life is to embed herself so totally in someone else's that they can't or won't function without her. She continuously chases things that she knows are bad for her and will continue to do this with a surprising amount of self-awareness until she finally blunders into trouble she can't blunder out of. She's the kind of absolute mess of gender and addictive personality that I desperately wanted to see and I got to make her!!

For the fic itself, I'm really pleased that I've managed to consistently write scenes that make me laugh, which before this I didn't know was possible? It makes writing such a blast, and now I purposefully try to weave in humor and a little bit of mundane ridiculousness throughout, particularly to offset the darker or more distressing scenes. I'll share one of my favorites:

Though conceptually V knew her apartment was a bit of a mess, it wasn’t until she saw Takemura looking it over that she really remembered. Jackie and T-bug would have loved it. Saburo Arasaka’s bodyguard performing a security sweep on the perpetual sprawl of electronics that covered her desk. The stack of screens and speakers she’d scavenged from an old job. A pile of clean clothing dumped in front of her half-empty closet.

“You are sure this place has not been searched?” His tone was deadpan, expression grave.

V pretended to be offended. “Here I am, granting you shelter. You should be nicer to me.”

“Perhaps I am not very nice.”

“To think Wakako called you a gentleman.”

He laughed – it was definitely a laugh, tugging at the corners of his eyes – and drifted towards the window and the sight of the city in twilight.

I just– I'm imagining being in Takemura's shoes: he's had the worst few weeks of his entire life, he's on the run, hasn't had a decent shower or meal or rest, finally found an ally who's offered him a place to crash, and her home is just filled with junk and a total sty. He can't be totally rude about it, but like, come on. Give the poor man a break.

Rachel has a complicated relationship with her mother, Esther, but there was always a thing they were on the same page about — musicals. Rach was a kid when her mom took her to her first musical show (it was 'Wicked') and since then she became unbearable: she would be singing her favorite parts for hours, driving her elder brother mad. Moreover, every family ride ended up with Rachel and Esther singing in the car, maybe that's why Rachel's brother became a musical critic after all shdjlsjhfdshdjf

∇ -. old age/aging headcanon

Like her fixer role model Wakako Okada, Rachel refused to join the mass insanity of chasing youth and hasn't done any rejuvenating treatments with her aging. Don't get me wrong, she cares about her looks and her health (life-prolonging treatments are okay in her book), but she decided to look her age.

7.) What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling?

Hiro's earliest memories are seldom good ones, the smell of dirty water, and the almost human quality it took, the scent of too many people living in too small of a space--standing in it up to his knees and looking for things that had been dropped on the shores, or hidden in the murk. Things to be sold to ensure a full stomach for a night, and a temporary moment of security. But he also remembers dragging pieces of wood into piles and making driftwood fires on the shore, and looking at the lights of Night City across the water. There were tiny moments of happiness, in a lot of bad, and they kept him moving forward. Or the taste of bean buns, still hot and nearly burning fingers and trying to judge whether or not you wanted to risk burning your mouth on them too, but too impatient to wait. For better or worse, there are a lot of memories of Wakako too, of sitting rooms where everything seemed like he wasn't supposed to touch it, and investigating tea cups, and delicate china bowls, and an ornate incense holder, and wooden screens painted with gilt and scenes of nature--birds in the top corners.

Nostalgia bittersweet for him. There are a lot of things he’d rather just forget, and move on from and never finds it as easy as he might like, despite how much he likes to pretend otherwise.

9.) Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?

Unless it’s one of the few people he’s attempting to behave himself around, Padre, Mama Welles (or reluctantly, Wakako), he has a mouth like a gutter, and doesn’t particularly care who hears him. Asshole, or fuck was probably the first swear word he learned, courtesy of his older brother, although there were plenty of other unsavory bits he picked up from the Tyger Claws lingering near the Kabuki docks. He tries, not to swear around kids but isn’t the most successful, and usually catches himself badly/tries to hide it, to no avail.

B.) What inspired you to create them?

One of Hiro’s inspirations was Bladerunner. I’d never seen it, until I had a movie class in college, and it was my first introduction to the Cyberpunk genre, and I wanted to create a character that would fit into a similar world. Hiro existed as an OC for several years before CP77 came along, and although there were differences in personality/backstory, it’s where he came to be. He wasn’t super well-thought out, just someone who I enjoyed designing and worldbuilding for. Cyberpunk was really what turned him into a more three-dimensional character, and he’s become one of my favorites. It’s hard to point to a specific influence, because there’s so many little things that helped create him, including input from friends, and bouncing ideas off others. I like to think he’s still developing though, and has room to grow as a character~

Tainted Love | Shoji Trial 2.1 | RE: Wowie all that.

Shoji felt like he wasn't here. His body was physically standing at his stupid podium with the stupid candle and stupid matches, but his mind was elsewhere. When things felt too much, Shoji had a habit of hiding away. He was halfway through his mental playlist of his favorite songs when the demonesses called for a vote. Shoji couldn't vote, let alone begin to process what's going on.

Alou is... a serial killer. Who serial killed Poppy's family. Who loved Poppy... the assassin. Who killed Wakako in what sounds like a fit of rage. Poppy's unwanted(?) love Alou proceeded to kill them and move Wakako's decapitated head back to the lounge where he slept, and tucked it in like Wakako was sent to bed.

Shoji's face was unmoving, but anyone close to him could notice that his eyes aren't focused on the trial. They're looking at something very far away that no one else can see. He mouths words to himself, a song playing in his head to block out the voices, the anger, and the hurt. Shoji didn't want to approach this pain... how would he stop it? He doesn't have the faculties to come to grips with this betrayal...

Sometimes I feel I've got to run away, I've got to get away-

That's what this is, right? A betrayal. A man who, in practice, was warm, kind, understanding, and nurturing, took the trust that Shoji's dear friend had, and thrusted her into a dangerous situation. He played with her life like she was the game Operation, and he just couldn't get the funny bone out. Could Shoji had been a target? Did Alou consider convincing Shoji to try killing Poppy? Why did he think so little about life and death? Why is he so fickle with suffering? Right. The whole... serial killer thing.

From the pain you drive into the heart of me-

Disillusionment is something Shoji's used to. His father, a Navy hero, was merely a man with an ego problem who thought he knew what was best for his children. His mother was one part strong, independent woman, and two parts tiger mom, more willing to tear her sons apart to excel than to tell them she loves them. This kind of heartbreak took a lifetime to bear. Why was Alou's actions so gutting? His eyes drift upwards to stare at the chandelier decorated ceiling. He called him brave, for embracing himself and standing against the tides. He called him Lovebird, for how openly he cares for others. He gave advice, and held him, and cooked for him, and made him feel like someone actually truly cared. Were those lies? Sweet, saccharine half truths used to make Shoji some kind of pawn? Why does it hurt so much..? When did Shoji let it hurt him this much?

The love we share seems to go nowhere-

Maybe this was a sign. Heather's breakdown of who he was, Alou's betrayal, Poppy's disappointment... All these little pieces come together to make Shoji realize... he's caring too much. He has to stop caring. He cared too much as a child as he became a star student to make mommy and daddy happy. He cared too much in middle school when he aced all the tests he could despite the lack of validation, and he cared too much now, seeing someone he dared call uncle lay out his twisted, very ethically concerning love. His clever plans... Why did Alou have to sound like some messed up comic book villain? Alou's love might be fucked up, and Shoji doesn't know how to deal with that. How does he begin to cope with how fucked this all his?

"Take my tears and that's not very all... tainted love...."

Shoji mumbles to himself as the song in his head continues to play. Oh, Soft Cell, what would he do without you? He weakly grabs the matches next to his candle and lights one. Finally, for the first time this trial, Shoji looks over at Alou, and his voice croaks out.

"What a fucking bummer."

And he casts his vote, quickly returning to his thousand yard stare once his match was safely put out.

Alice perked up and set down the box she was carrying. Down at the other end of the bar, Claire was helping - huh. Jackie. Her friend was chit-chatting with him and -

“Thea!” She grinned, jogging over to them. “What’re you guys doin’ here? Thought you guys were having dinner with Mama tonight?”

The tall solo gave her a small wave. “Hey, Al - we uh, got a job.”

“Major leagues!” Jackie grinned.

“Fuck yeah!” She paused. “Who y’all workin’ with? Major-major or…?”

“Bigger than Regina and Wakako?” Thea shrugged. “We have a meeting with Dex in a few - we’re waiting here till he’s ready. ”

“Wait–”

Jackie’s grin was almost infectious - almost.

She’d heard of Dex. There was a reason he left, a reason Rogue was so reluctant to rent him the quiet room in the back. Even Johnny wouldn’t have fucked with him back in the day - the man was just… Bad news.

Thea gave her a reassuring smile from across the bar. “It’ll be fine. It's just at Konpeki, I used to go there all the time when I was with 'Saka. We’ll meet you back here after, okay? Get drinks ready for us!"

“Breaking news!”

Some wanna-be solo edged in from behind her, motioning at Claire. “Turn it up!”

“Saburo Arasaka was found dead tonight at Konpeki Plaza. He was 158 years old.” Gillean Jordan read off. “He is survived by his children Hanako Arasaka, Yorinobu Arasaka, and –”

Konpeki.

Thea, Jackie –

Her stomach dropped.

“Claire, I’m gonna pop in the back - I need - I’ll just be a sec.” Alice didn’t wait for Claire to respond before ducking under the bar and through the door to the storeroom.

[10:56pm]

Alice: i s2g if you don’t answer this text

Alice: just lemme know everything’s good with the job

Alice: konpeki’s all over the news. the fuck happened?

Alice: if you don’t answer soon i’m gonna call

“Hey.” Alice looked up to see Rogue standing next to her. “Everything okay?”

She shrugged. “I– Fuck, I don’t know. Thea’s on a job.”

“With Dex.”

“Yeah. At Konpeki. She wouldn’t tell me what for.”

Rogue raised her eyebrow. “You think she was –”

“God, no. I mean, her and Jack have done hits before, but they’re - I love ‘em, but they’re not good enough for that big of a hit. But.” She took a deep, shaky breath. “Fuck, I’m worried. Something’s wrong. I just - know.”

“Go lay down. I’m closing the bar early.”

“Babe—”

“Go.” Rogue shook her head, gently shoving Alice in the direction of her apartment. “Nobody’s going to get any business done tonight. I’ll help Claire close up.”

Alice looked at her partner, then down at her phone. “I – fine.”

“Worried about your friends.”

“Just a lil.”

Rogue nodded, absent-mindedly petting Lord Byron. “Just go to bed. I’ll be here. If I hear anything, I’ll wake you up.”

Alice frowned. “If I miss anything on my phone –”

“I’ll let you know.”

Rogue was still there when Alice woke up hours later, asleep on the couch with Lord Byron purring on her lap.

“C’mere, you oaf.” Alice whispered to him, and smiled when the orange cat slowly stretched and rambled over to her. “Didja keep your mom warm last night? Huh?”

The cat purred in response.

“God, I wish I was you.” She muttered. “Now where the fuck did she put my – ah.”

Her phone was sitting next to Rogue’s hand.

One notification.

[6:40am]

Misty: Alice, call me when you wake up.

Misty: Or meet me at Vik’s.

Well, fuck.

[10:32am]

Alice: omw. going to feed mr nib first.

Alice: have you heard from our favorite solos?

Misty: Just hurry. Have Rogue feed Mr Nibbles. Thea’s here.

Alice: okay. see you in a min

Shit.

Okay.

Alice grabbed the first piece of paper she could find and scribbled a note to Rogue on it - at Vik’s. Feed by and nib? Call when you wake up.

It felt like it took no time at all to walk from the megabuilding to Vik’s. Less people than usual were out and about, and it seemed like there was a cop on every corner.

Misty was sitting at the top of the stairs to Vik’s shop, waiting for her. Crying.

Fuck.

Fuck fuck fuck.

“Mist, what happened?”

Misty looked up at her. “Vik’s still working on Thea. Jackie’s –”

Shit.

“He - he didn’t…”

Alice sat next to her friend, carefully wrapping an arm around her.

Rogue: How’s it going?

Alice: uh. not good.?

Alice: thea’s hurt. bad. vik just finished working on her. said it might take a while for her to wake up. if she does.

Alice: jack’s gone.

Alice: i texted pepe. delamain showed up with his body last night

Alice: mama isn’t doing good. gonna head over there later.

Alice: can you give me a ride? don’t wanna deal with ncart

Rogue: Yeah. Let me know when.

Alice: thanks

ValVarez headcanons, pt 3

Here is the final part of the Judy/Fem!V headcanons. Thank you for checking these out, and as always, if any of this sparks interest have at it.

V deals with a lot of fixers. She's the hottest merc in town right now, and everybody knows her name. Judy has opinions on them, based solely on how V talks about them.

Rogue is a bitch, but she's Johnny's bitch so V resolves to just not speak about her much at all. Apparently she and Johnny made a deal not to talk about outputs, former or current, and Judy does not want to know what Johnny thinks of her.

By far, Regina is V's favorite, and Judy's too. Judy has seen the text messages between the two, and never once has Regina insulted her girl. Regina praises V and tells her she did a good job even if V can admit her performance was less than preem. When V talks about her day, she saves the Regina gigs for last so she can always end on a high note.

Wakako sounds every bit the Tyger Claw she is. Judy doesn't like her, in fact she is Judy's least favorite fixer in all of night city, and V can't deny feeling that way as well. V relays that Jackie always told her she would never get a "Good job" out of Wakko, but that's never stopped her from trying anyway.

Mr Hands sounds like something out of a cartoon. Even V admits he's a bit eccentric for a fixer, but she's only worked with him a "HANDful" of times so far so she doesn't really have a read on him.

El Capitan is a professional, through and through. V can appreciate that, and respects the way he cares about his mercs. Judy can appreciate that if her girl goes missing while working for him, he won't just write her off as a deadbeat who skipped town.

Dino is a character. V says he's loud and enthusiastic, always quick to openly tell V when he is impressed by her skills. He's the only fixer V has ever gone drinking with, and the first person since Jackie to drink her under the table.

Padre is someone V knew before she moved to Atlanta for two years. V seems to have a lot of respect for the way the man conducts business, and based on what V has told her, the man knows more about honor - true, Night City honor - than Takemura ever will.

When Judy meets Johnny for the first time later on, he will admit that was the moment he realized he was wrong about her. Judy won't ask him to elaborate, and he won't offer.

Dakota values family above all else. When V does a good turn for her in the Badlands, she is quick to offer solemn thanks, but when V makes a mistake she is even quicker to criticize. V makes a point to avoid Dakota whenever she swings by the Aldecaldos camp.

Sometimes V's fame is a double-edged sword, no pun intended. V admits while bandaging a gunshot wound in her arm that when gangoons see a woman sprinting towards them with a blade in hand, their first instinct is to shoot without thinking. They know they're outmatched and by reputation, V rarely shows mercy. V only laments that sometimes she isn't fast enough to reach them before the trigger gets pulled and an innocent is executed before her eyes.

V disappears on a mission for Johnny with Rogue, and comes back from it with an altered perspective. Johnny isn't the leech in V's head anymore, but apparently a broken man that against all odds has gotten a second chance. V tells Judy she is going to give Johnny the space to make amends, give him control for a while if he needs it. Judy disagrees, they argue, and this time it's Judy who shows up at V's door with an apology and an offer to watch Nibbles at her place, in case Johnny forgets to feed the cat.

V agrees, but only after relaying - through tears of laughter - a series of indignant rants from Johnny about how he can take care of a simple animal. There are also increasingly specific instructions from him about what she does and doesn't like.

Later, V will admit some worry over how Johnny knows so much about the cat's likes and dislikes, since she isn't sure they've ever interacted at all before. Not that she remembers, anyway.

Misty always seems to know when Judy is having a particularly bad day. Maybe that one dinner was enough to tune her into Judy's aura, or maybe Misty just has impeccable timing. Either way, Misty has a way of clarifying things that Judy has been stewing on in the most indirect manner Judy has ever experienced. Whether she has mystical powers or not, Judy can admit she has a strange knack for helping people.

V goes with Takemura to find a way to clear her name with Arasaka and get rid of the construct in her head. Instead, a parade becomes a battle ground, the Arasaka princess is kidnapped, and Takemura dies. She doesn't hear from or about V directly, but she does see her gonk of an output sprinting past Gillean Jordan's report moments after the reporter goes live.

When Panam shows up with a bottle of tequila and a bag of takeout the next day, Judy expects the worst. Turns out Panam had just been craving something other than nomad food, and Judy's apparently near one of her favorite hole-in-the-wall wonton shops.

V finds them later, giggling over trash TV and ineffectually trying to shoo Nibbles away from the empty containers. V is just glad Panam hasn't pushed her down to fourth favorite human in the cat's opinion.

After V relays the tale of the parade, Judy is grateful it's Panam expressing relief that Takemura died instead of V. Johnny must agree, or at least say something that V can't argue with, because she spends the next 15 minutes pouting on the rooftop. She comes back smelling of cigarettes and helps herself to any leftovers Nibbles has abandoned, grief shelved for the time being.

At some point in the night, Panam swears a blood-oath on-her-mother's-grave pinky-promise-guarantee that if anything happens to V, Judy has a home with the Aldecaldos and they will take her wherever she needs to go. Drunk Judy starts crying and can't stop, both touched at the offer and gripped with dread at the prospect.

Judy is also relieved that should her worst nightmare come true, at least she won't be alone.

V shows up after a day or two of running errands for Johnny with Kerry freaking Eurodyne's autograph and an honest to god pair of prescription glasses. Apparently Kerry gets a mild thrill out of making Johnny - in any form - wear the ridiculous square framed glasses. It's also the least he can do for V after literally getting the band back together.

V is ecstatic when they look out over the city and she can see more than just an admittedly impressive blur on the horizon for the first time since she was 14 or so. Judy is not so subtle about how sexy she finds V with them on.

They're both very disappointed when they break just a few days later.

Judy meets Johnny, and it goes as well as can be expected. Nibbles notices the difference first, and then Judy picks up on the differences. Really, the dark aviators around her neck and the frequent crotch scratching should have been a dead give away.

They have a meal that Judy throws together, Johnny polishes off the rest of the whiskey V brought over some nights ago, and the conversation is stilted but civil. Judy makes him sleep on her couch, and it takes a lot of coaxing from V - her V - to share a bed again after the strangeness of seeing a stranger watching her from V's face.

It really shouldn't be surprising that V has a lot of money saved up. Not only is she amazing at her job, but V picks up everything unclaimed that she finds lying around to sell, she doesn't buy cars because she sucks at driving anyway, and unlike most people in Night City, she doesn't really bother with adding more chrome to her arsenal. By that logic, it's no surprise at all.

Judy supposes the real shocker was finding out her output is officially a multimillionaire that runs around the city wearing two different shoes because she couldn't find a matching pair that didn't have blood on them.

It takes a lot of convincing, but she does manage to get V to go clothes shopping with her. In ends with V's new outfit getting ruined by a cyberpsycho attack. Zane can't issue a refund, but Judy is very appreciative of him calling V back in with the promise of a discount a few days later. Who knew her adorable murder machine would look so sexy dressed up like a corpo?

Judy finds a collection of shards in V's apartment, in a box under her computer desk. It should be creepy that V has dozens of shards from random dead people she finds in the city. V explains that they're all victims, not of her, but of various unfortunate happenings in Night City. They all seem to be either right before they died, or something that jumped to the fore of their mind as they were crossing over.

V explains, as gently as she can, that the shards remind her of how Evie kept replaying the fight she and Judy had during her darkest moments. V didn't want them to just get tossed away and forgotten so she kept them. Judy may not be able to say it yet, but she makes sure V at least feels the love Judy has for her in that moment.

Kerry turns out to be a needy bitch, if Judy gets to have an opinion on the situation. He only seems to call V for things at 2 in the morning, when they've both just managed to fall asleep after a very long day. Maybe she's just aggravated that V is always willing to drag herself out of bed to help a friend in need with his stupid rivalry. Nibbles isn't nearly as warm a bedmate, but somehow hogs more of the covers.

V sends a selfie of herself and River, a mountain of chopped veggies between them and Judy can't help but think it isn't fair. Nothing is fair in Night City, but that V is dying now, when she's making friends and learning new skills as though she isn't close to flatlining at any moment is just Not. Fair.

Judy fixes her makeup before calling to tease V about how her chopping skills need some work. V is indignant at the very thought, and River assures her they've been practicing. V promises to bring some over later, and Judy's heart swells with affection.

Kerry and V destroy a yacht, and V announces it's officially the most expensive vehicle she has ever destroyed. Johnny is insistent that the Porsche she wrapped around a pole 30 seconds after taking the wheel was priceless, and the internal argument is apparently so intense that neither notice when Judy goes to bed for the night.

Everything happens fast, or at least suddenly. V's condition has progressed too far, and if something is gonna happen it's gotta happen now. V still makes time to call Judy before she goes off for what could be her last gig.

Judy spends the next few days occupying as much of her time as she can with editing their BD. If she stops working, she starts worrying, and she can't afford to lose faith that V will come back to her. Not now.

When she gets the call from Panam, she can't help but physically sag in relief. V did it. There isn't much time though, so Judy grabs the already prepared bags - one for her, one for V, and one for Nibbles. As she shuts the door to her apartment behind her, she feels like she's finally going home.

The second they get a quiet moment alone together, Judy informs V that she is not going to be the one to tell Mama Welles they ditched the city.

1. When did you buy the game?

It was actually a pre-ordered Christmas gift from one of my best friends. I think it was maybe about a month or so before it launched? I had expressed interest in playing the game a few times and my friend kept that in mind lol it was probably one of the best gifts I've ever gotten because it completely sparked my obsession with Cyberpunk 2077 (and the rest of the lore), which lead me to my current hobbies and my new friends.

2. When was the moment you knew you loved the game?

Definitely the montage of our time with Jackie right after we meet him. There's just something extremely endearing about him showing you around, taking you into his mother's house, climbing up the mercenary ranks, etc. There's also the scene were we see Johnny's engram in V's apartment for the first time. His smug ass just standing there, thumping his head against the wall. Ugh, I fell in love immediately.

3. Which character did you romance in your first playthru?

Imagine my disappointment when I found out Jackie was already dating Misty, and Vik was unromancable. Then I go and fall in love with Takemura (and my urge to un-corpo him) only to find out that he is also not a romance option. And of course, neither is Johnny, who I feel my V had developed a VERY strong bond with and can easily see them being in love. 😭

So, finding out all my options were off limits, I eventually fell into bed with resident beefcake River. I liked him as a character and I like his voice actor a lot. But it wasn't really fitting with my V.

4. Whose your favorite NPC?

There's so many I really enjoy and REALLY wish we had more interactions with. I liked Dum Dum a lot and I always try to spare him if I can. I like Mateo and wish he had more lines. Takemura was my favorite right alongside Johnny, both two characters I love deeply. Misty endeared me immediately too, with her soft spoken ways. And of course, I'll do anything for Rogue.

5. Did you have inspiration in mind when designing your V(s)?

Not really, to be honest. Paola wasn't my first V. My first one was unnamed with zero backstory, she was mostly my tester run while I got used to the game and saw what decisions resulted in what end-game. I just slapped together some sliders I thought looekd good (spoiler, they didn't now that I go back and look at her screens lol)

But I accidentally deleted her when I saved over her playthrough lmao! So I created Paola (who was also unnamed at the time). I just experimented with the sliders and was lucky enough to have fallen in love with her look. The mods also really helped lol

6. What's your go-to vehicle?

Admittedly, my driving in-game is not the best and I feel cars are way too janky to maneuver, so I stuck with using bikes for Paola. She uses the Arch Nazare we buy from Wakako (customized via mods) for pretty much everything, both in-game and in character. The times I am using a car though, it's usually the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech we get from the Sex on Wheels quest.

7. What's your favorite gig/mission/job?

Oh man, it's been so long since I've replayed the game again (mostly spend my time in photomode now lol), but I really loved Kerry's quests involving Us Cracks. He just has huge boomer vibes with them, it's very hilarious to me. I also really like the quests were Johnny gets his date with Rogue because I ship them hella. It was just a sweet touch which showed that he truly did change for the best, imo.

8. Which NC radio station do you switch to the most?

I often switch between Los Principales, the Dirge, Radio Vexelstrom and Morro Rock Radio. I pretty much browse through all of them, really.

1. When did you buy the game?

I didn't buy it, my partner gifted it to me on XboX for my Christmas, an early present. I remember we downloaded it in advance and we were in front of our TV at midnight to launch the game! We spent a long time just creating the character to see all the options and I started playing! I started with a first V until the end of act 1, then I created Vanessa. I did two full games on XboX, then bought the game back when we got a pc !

2. When was the moment you knew you loved the game?

Immediately. I loved the decorations, the character design, starting slowly, then being plunged into the action... I loved walking around the city. I found the environment immersive and so beautiful! I have so many pictures on XboX, completely silly but so much fun, in unlikely places. And the characters? Even the ones that aren't used much have a personality, they are unique and I love that !

3. Which character did you romance in your first playthru?

I was disappointed that FemV couldn't romance Panam, then I met River and loved the character.

But I was disappointed with the romance.

So I redid the endgame by choosing Judy, but .... For me, Sun Ending for FemV is not a happy ending no matter which romance you choose (this is of course my opinion, if you have a different opinion, you are entitled to it!)

That's what disappointed me the most about this game, the lack of romance, or even just one night stands. So many characters could have been romanced: Vik, Takemura, Claire, so many others ... and Johnny of course!

4. Whose your favorite NPC?

As I said, they are all unique in their own way! I love Johnny, the character development is crazy!I love Panam, Kerry, Jackie (I would have loved to have more interaction with him), Misty, Evelyn. But also people we see less like Pepe, Wakako, the Aldecaldos, Dum Dum, ... Playing it again on PC and seeing them again, I feel like I'm rediscovering them ♥

5. Did you have inspiration in mind when designing your V(s)?

I had a first V, blue-haired nomad, no name, no backstory.

But on December 24th, I created Vanessa! I had in mind a badass streetkid, hardened by a poor life, looking for glory and to show the world that she is stronger than the corpos. Of course, I made friends with Jackie. Why wouldn't they know each other? I've always found that absurd! I didn't want too much drama, there is enough in the game, just the story of a girl next door wanting to touch the stars! I mentioned her looks in this post, this doll maker really created Vanessa without intention! I wanted a colourful, flashy person to match the Heywood area and Valentinos inspiration. She's evolved over time, but I've always kept the pink/purple hair, the brightly coloured clothes and very little visible cybernetics.

I always play stealthy in combat, I liked the idea of being a shadow in the night during her jobs and a flashy party girl the rest of the time. And his lifepath chose the street weapons, the baseball bat and the machine gun, if not the silenced pistol! ---

I created Virgile to romance Panam x) and I also wanted to play differently, I wanted to test hacking and katanas. That's the basis of Virgile, I didn't have more in mind. I created him one sleepless night, his sad face and his puppy eyes have big influenced his story ! I don't like to have multiple canon characters in one game, so Virgile is not a V and with my partner we linked our characters and that's how I was able to develop him.

I like having different characters, Virgil is the opposite of Vanessa. He is as shy as she is confident, quiet, very intelligent, calm and introverted.

6. What’s your go-to vehicle?

BIKES !

I started with Jackie's Arch, then the yellow Arch Nazaré (i felt bad to destroy the other). But for Vanessa, I chose the Nazaré Istumade (from Highwayman quest) and the Kusanagi. Virgile prefers the two Apollo, the Brennan and Nomad.

7. What’s your favorite gig/mission/job?

Automatic Love was great, the moment with the doll gave me chills, I think it's brilliant! The quests with River are so cool and creepy. An old secret club a really deranged serial killer? Yes! And there was a bit of a film noir feel to it. I love "Killing in the Name" with Swedenborg, just for Johnny and his reactions ! Same for "Raymond Chandler Evening", Johnny as a narrator is chef kiss !

8. Which NC radio station do you switch to the most?

Principales my beloved ♥ Then Body Heat and Pacific Dreams. Night FM is cool but not so long XD I don't know who tag, but i try ! No pressure of course : @bnbc @lavendermilkandhoney @pheedraws @elowmojo @breezypunk @valheri ♥
