notes — i'm not much into valentine's day but i had to make this (probably v cliche, lol) post for my valentine's-loving babies !! also this is my first time writing for jouno, tecchou+ like 3 others so bear w / me pls :')) i just wanted to write something special for everyone's favs !!

warnings — fluff, suggestive, some dirty talk.

𝐀𝐊𝐔𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐖𝐀 has never spent valentine's day with anyone, he isn't even aware of the holiday until you ask him to pick up your favorite snack on the way home from work one night and he notices there's a pink and red theme to the aisles—a quick google search tells him it's a "love" holiday, coming up quite soon actually, so he asks you what you'd like to do for it. you insist on brushing it off, saying it's a stupid holiday and a waste of money, but money certainly isn't an issue for him, and he was actually finding himself getting quite excited at the idea of doing something romantic for you, so he pulls through on the day of anyways and you come home to an apartment full of white roses. "umm, aku? what's this?" "hm?" he's sitting on the couch, surrounded by literally hundreds of roses as if it's just another tuesday, his head barely peeking over them, "oh, i thought you'd like them, is it alright? i can throw them away. . ." he nervously moves to grab some of the roses before you stop him, "no- no! i love them, actually." your voice softens, fingers tracing over one of the petals, "no one's ever done anything like this for me." he smiles at that, "so, you're pleased?" you pull him in for a kiss by his shirt lapel, and he blushes, "actually, i have little present for you, as well, why don't you relax on the couch and i'll show you?" as soon as your delicate fingers pop open the button of his pants, pulling them down around his ankles, aku realizes he definitely made the right choice in color—white roses symbolize purity, and there's nothing more pure than his love for you.

𝐃𝐀𝐙𝐀𝐈 has gone on plenty of dates, had plenty of casual relationships—but being in a serious one makes him realize it's a privilege to make someone else happy, and he now jumps at the chance whenever he can. he's always been a romantic, but he goes all out on holidays, relishing the excuse to buy you pretty things and dote on you even more than usual. he's so silly, he always frowns when he realizes you aren't surprised he got you something—even though he always spoils you on holidays. "aww, you got me something, too? you didn't have to, princess, i thought we weren't celebrating this year!" he whines upon seeing the little gift bag hooked under your arm when you walk into your apartment, meanwhile there's a frilly pink apron tied around his waist, a spatula raised in his hand that's dripping red cake batter. "uh, you're one to talk, 'samu?" he looks around, "hm? this? i just wanted to do something nice for you, angel- i only decided this morning!" dazai knew he'd break the promise you two made to not celebrate, he was just excited to surprise you! but now you've gone and bought him a present too, and you don't even look surprised, he's so sad! "so, you're telling me the balloons, candy, roses, heart-shaped cake . . . weren't pre-planned?" you pull him in for a kiss, "it does smell good, though." he whines again, bringing a hand to his forehead for dramatic effect, "you know i'd never betray you like that, my darling angel! but is it really wrong to want to spoil my favorite person?" he's fake crying now, and you pepper kisses on his face until he stops, "mwah, no, not at all, 'samu- i can't wait to show you what i got for you!"

𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐔𝐘𝐀 defaults to buying you expensive things, like flowers and jewelry—it's your first valentine's day together, and he wants nothing more than to make you feel special, to convey how much light you've brought into his life. all throughout the day, he's surprising you with gifts. you wake up to a shiny diamond necklace hidden under your pillow, "y'like it, doll? almost as pretty as you, my sweet girl." you exit the bathroom after brushing your teeth to a bouquet of red roses on your vanity table. he makes you dinner (ranked 6 out of 10 but he tried so hard), breaks out an expensive bottle of red wine to have with dessert (your favorite gourmet chocolate cake that he practically tries to hand feed to you), he rubs your feet, gives you kisses all throughout the day. after a while, you practically have to push him off of you, "chu, don't you think this is all a little, much?" he looks confused at that, "huh? i just wanted to make you feel special, you don't like it?" you frown before taking his hand, "it's just, i'd rather spend time with you just talking, or cuddling. . . i want to hear about your week and catch up like we always do. i don't need all the bells and whistles, i like our normal life." something clicks in his mind, and chuuya thinks he finally gets the whole valentine's day thing—it's a chance to spend time with the person he loves most in the world, it isn't about the material things. however, that doesn't stop you two from enjoying the countless boxes of chocolates he bought you that night, your feet kicked up on the coffee table as you two laugh and rant about work and whatever else comes to mind—it's the perfect way to end the night.

𝐅𝐔𝐊𝐔𝐙𝐀𝐖𝐀 isn't really into the frills or outward displays of affection that often come with valentine's day—he's a very private person, so he prefers something intimate just between you two. even though you assure him he doesn't have to do anything special, he finds a reason to celebrate anyways—because, as he puts it, "each day with you is a blessing, i'll take any opportunity to celebrate that, my love." he decides to take you on a walk that night as the sun is setting, and it's truly perfect the way you two just stroll along in a peaceful silence, eventually revisiting the place he'd first told you he loved you. "do you remember this place, dear?" "of course, yukichi, how could i forget?" you turn to him with tears in your eyes, and he smiles, pulling you close as he wraps his arms around you and buries his face in your hair—it's the first physical display of affection he's ever shown in public, but he's so overwhelmed by his emotions at that moment, he simply can't bear to not have his hands on you. "every day since then has been so wonderful, i'm lucky to wander through this journey of life with you." fukuzawa knows life with him isn't always easy, he's often busy, and you've told him sometimes you feel a little left out from that part of his life, but he tries his best to reassure you in moments like this—"i apologize for being distant at times, for being consumed with work, but please understand, i could never express how much you've changed my life for the better." fukuzawa isn't always the best with words, but there are times when his feelings just flow from his heart naturally, and almost always, those times are when he's with you.

𝐅𝐘𝐎𝐃𝐎𝐑 has so much on his mind, he forgets about valentine's day completely—it just isn't even on his radar. he doesn't go out in public much, so naturally, he doesn't have anything to remind him, otherwise he would've done something for you, really! fyodor doesn't understand the significance of such holidays, or why people would celebrate something trivial and made-up, but he always tries to make you feel special, nonetheless. he knows holidays mean a lot to you, and though he can be distant, he truly cares about your happiness. however, this year, he simply had other things to focus on, and it slipped his mind entirely. he's usually quiet when working, and you didn't expect him to take the whole day off for you, but you're hurt when he hardly steps away from his desk at all that day, only visiting the kitchen to fetch his tea a few times and place a quick kiss to your forehead, "i'll be done soon, is that alright, my love?" "um, sure," you realize as the day goes on he isn't going to celebrate with you, so you decide to go out and have a nice dinner for yourself—a solo date. when you return, he looks a little confused, "where did you go, darling? i wanted to spend time together before bed." you roll your eyes, "it's valentine's, fyo, i took myself out to dinner." you feel bad for the attitude, but you can't deny you feel forgotten. his eyes widen before quickly softening again, "come here, please?" he kisses you, stroking your hair afterward as he gazes into your eyes apologetically, "it is my fault, i was focused on other things. but we can still make the night special, yes? let's go out, you look so beautiful, my one and only."

𝐓𝐄𝐂𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐔 values honesty, so he counts on you to tell him what you want, rather than guessing. he doesn't have time for games, and one thing he loves about you is how direct you are. however, the first year you're together, you make the unfortunate mistake of brushing it off when he asks you about valentine's day—you'd told him it was a stupid holiday, that you didn't want anything, but you were only being polite, you didn't want him to think he had to get you something, but you'd been eyeing the balloons and boxes of chocolates wrapped up with pretty velvet bows. you really wanted tecchou to do something for you, even if it was just something little, but when the day comes, hours go by and nothing happens. you wait all day for him to pull out a bouquet of roses or a box of chocolates, pretending that he'd forgotten just to trick you, but he never does. when he kisses you that night and falls asleep only minutes later, you slip quietly out of bed, sneaking out to the couch and burying your head in your hands—you feel lonely and unwanted, and you aren't even sure why. it's a stupid holiday, but you at least wanted something. "babe?" tecchou sounds sleepy and confused as he flicks the light on, "why are you out here?" "ah! sorry-" you quickly wipe the tears from your eyes, "it's nothing, i'm just being silly." he comes closer, sitting next to you and stroking your hair, "what is it? tell me, please." his eyes show nothing but kindness, and you exhale. "i was just hoping you'd do something for me for valentine's day, i know it's stupid, i told you i didn't want anything, it's just-" he interrupts you, "no- no, i should've known, it's my fault." it isn't, but you appreciate his apology—he's always been so patient with you. "tomorrow, babe, i'll make it up to you, k?" you smile at that, and he kisses you. "come back to bed, i miss you."

𝐉𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐎 was intent on buying you something expensive, but you'd insisted you didn't want that—after everything he does for you, the way he protects you and cares for you, you wanted to be the one to show him how valuable he is. you decide to stay in and make him a fancy dinner, instead of wasting money on a crowded restaurant where you'd probably get slow service anyways. you know everything jouno loves to eat, and you've worked so hard to perfect the recipes over the past few weeks, but after trying everything at least a few times, nothing is turning out right. "my love," he slides a hand around your waist, kissing your neck, "hmm, why don't we just order in? we're running out of time, i wanted to spend the night with you." you sigh, "ugh, 'm sorry, babe, i guess i'm not a good cook, after all. nothing is coming out right." he smiles, and you can't understand why he would be happy about this, but you soon understand when he places a hand on your chest, "i know you're anxious, dear, your heart is telling me so, but you don't need to do all of this for me, i just want you-" his last word is punctuated by a hand gently squeezing your hip. you know him well, and you can feel the way his body calls to you, "ha- is that all you want for valentine's day, babe?" he moves his hand further down, slender fingers toying with the waistband of your jeans. he nods before placing a gentle kiss on your skin, "let's order in, love- i'm sure we can make something happen before the pizza guy gets here, yeah?" you laugh and push him away playfully, "jouno! stop it, you're so silly."

𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐌𝐀 is so sad when you walk into his office with a little heart-printed gift bag tucked under your arm. "huh? o-oh," he practically jumps from his desk and rushes over to you, "u-um, i was gonna get you something, sweetheart, i just haven't had time yet, i thought- m-maybe i'd give it to you tonight at dinner? it'll be bigger than that one, too, much bigger!" he's frantic, and you look a little confused, though he doesn't understand why. "wait, what?" sigma hates the feeling settling in his stomach, he hates the thought of losing you—it's unbearable, even. "it's just-" he responds, "someone gave you that present . . i'm a little disappointed, i wanted to give you something, but now you've already received a gift." his voice lowers in volume, gaze dropping to his hands, "i should've given you something sooner, i'm truly sorry." you're probably going to break up with him since he utterly failed at his first valentine's day with you, someone else has gone and swept you off your feet before he could! he braces himself for the words he's always dreaded most, the moment you tell him you're no longer interested in a relationship with him, but they never come. "babe, no-" your thumb brushes his cheek, soothing the burning heat on them, "i got this for you! for our first holiday together." your smile is so bright as you hand him the bag, but sigma can't even think of opening it as he places it on his desk wordlessly, grabbing your face and pulling you into a deep, messy kiss, "i-i thought i'd lost you, you're still mine?" you nod, wrapping your arms around his neck as his hands roam your body now, "i'm yours, sigma, and 'm so lucky that you're mine."

𝐀𝐓𝐒𝐔𝐒𝐇𝐈 pulls out all the stops—he does all of the cliché stuff he's seen in romance movies, plus asks a few of the ADA members what he should do for you. you're the first person he's ever dated—the first person he's even opened up to since starting his new life away from the orphanage, and he just wants everything to be absolutely perfect for you. after receiving so much advice from dazai, yosano, and even ranpo, he decides he can't make up his mind—so he does a little of everything! he buys you flowers, tons of chocolates, balloons, stuffed animals (one of them so big he can barely fit it through the door of your apartment), and even tries to make you dinner. he burns the steaks and the "baked" potatoes come out of the oven still raw, but even so—the fact he tried so hard makes you melt into a puddle, though you're not sure where you're going to put all of this. "atsushi?! this is all for me?" you look bewildered, and he scratches the back of his head, "ah- is it that bad? i wasn't sure what to do, so i kiiiinda went a little overboard. maybe i missed the mark, though." you stop him before he can continue, "no! i love it, really. i just wasn't expecting. . so much." he's starting to feel a little self-conscious, but your lips on his soothe his doubts. "i really love it, babe. you didn't have to do all of this. i would've been happy just to fall asleep next to you. how was your day?" you brush your fingers against his cheek, and he relaxes a little, "ugh- stressful, honestly. i could hardly get that one through the door," he points to the massive stuffed bear towering over you two, and you both laugh.

𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐏𝐎 loves candy and sweets, so naturally, he loves valentine's day. you were expecting him to completely ignore your first valentine's day together, saying something like, "meh- i can eat chocolate any time i want, why's it have to be out of a heart-shaped box today?" however, he surprises you with an apartment full of sweets and baked goods on the day of. "ta da!" he pops up from behind the kitchen island when you stroll out of your bedroom that morning, rubbing your eyes as you realize what's before you. "ranpo? what's all this?" there are trays of pink, red, and white cookies and candy and pastries laid out on the marble countertops. "huh?" he pouts, "did you actually forget it's valentine's day today?" he laughs a little, "ah- it's no problem. i've got us covered!" as the day goes on, you start to wonder if ranpo is celebrating your love today, or just celebrating for himself. "uh- honey?" "yeah?" he looks away from the bowl of popcorn in front of him to glance over at you, and you smile a little—though you were hoping for a little more affection today, you can't deny how handsome he looks when he's enjoying one of his favorite treats. "hmm- nothing, d'you like the movie so far?" "eh- it's a little boring, i already figured out who the villain is, of course." you giggle, "of course, should we watch something else then?" he grabs the remote and flicks the tv off, putting the bowl down and turning to you, "actually, i wanted to tell you something." you aren't sure what to expect, but he continues before your mind wanders too far. "you know i'm not good at things like this, but. . ." he takes your hands in his, "i've very grateful to spend today with you, i hope it's made you happy as well."

𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐈 never thought he'd feel enlightened from a relationship, rather than feeling tied down by it. as someone who values nothing more than freedom, he was quite wary of getting into a relationship—most he'd seen didn't seem all that fulfilling at all, nothing but arguments and tears and maybe a few sporadic moments of happiness here and there. however, you quickly teach him that that isn't the case at all—we're designed to love, and he gets that now, as his arms are wrapped tightly around you, the two of you lying on a blanket on the soft grass and looking up at the twinkling stars. "are you sure this is all you want to do today, my dear? it's valentine's day, after all." "mhmm," you snuggle into him, "this is where we had our f-" he cuts you off, "our first date, i remember it well, though it was daytime then." you laugh, "yes, it was summer and hot as hell—and you had me running all around this park trying to figure out your stupid scavenger hunt, i almost died!" he pouts at that, "aww, you never did figure out what was waiting for you at the end." you glance at him, finally tearing your eyes away from the beautiful night sky above you, "i love you, nikolai." he looks a little taken aback at the change in subject, but there's nothing he'd rather hear more than that coming from your lips. he sits up, and tugs on your arm for you to follow. you sit facing each other with your legs crossed, your face cradled in his hands, "i love you, too, my shining star. you're my love, my angel, my everything. thank you for showing me that love can be freeing." you start to cry, but he wipes your tears away quickly before jumping to his feet, "now then! shall we finish that scavenger hunt? i'm sure your prize is still out here somewhere!"

summary; when you, a waitress at the local coffee shop, are paired up with the new recruit scaramouche, you’re pretty sure both of you are going to get fired within a week. he’s just quit being a social media influencer and after being forced to work here to make ends meet, he’s ready to let everyone there know how much he hates it. the worst part? you can’t shake the feeling that you know him from somewhere. but as he slowly warms up to you, scaramouche realises that having a fresh start isn’t that bad after all, and perhaps the two of you meeting like this was pure serendipity.

kokomi: you see? he was a drama youtuber and he got clout off of ruining other people's lives - he even got fired from genshin impact! when genshin threatened a lawsuit, he agreed to settle privately by deleting all his accounts. genshin must have paid to scrub all the traces of him they could from the internet too. i knew there was something fishy about him!

y/n: honestly, fuck you, kokomi.

kokomi: what?! why me?!

y/n: because who cares what his past was like? yeah, maybe he used to be a shitty person, and yeah he's still a pain in my ass, but he's changing. scara hasn't done anything bad since he started working here, i don't know why you're so against him.

kokomi: i just don't want you to get hurt, y/n. we all know you're still looking for that mystery guy from when you were younger, and this is the first time you've liked someone without mentioning that. i'm worried he's taking advantage of you.

some of my favorite moments from the 1995 10th Anniversary Concert of Les Miserables bc it's BARRICADE DAY and thus tis the season:

the convicts during Look Down all being Valjeans from different countries

the bishop M is baby faced and has an angelic voice

the clips from the fully staged show that they insert whenever there is too long of an instrumental/to explain things

colm wilkinson and philip quast's confrontation makes me want to chew on my laptop screen. so good. so crisp

baby cosette gets spooked by a balloon popping during castle on a cloud but barely flinches and keeps singing

the entire cast in the background of master of the house bopping back and forth in time. they are so here for it and it's amazing

philip quast's stars. he's so fucking good. i'm insane about him

michael maguire as enjolras's little happy dance when gavroche tells them that lamarque is dead

michael ball as marius somehow gives himself literally heart eyes whenever he talks about cosette. i can see them. it's so funny

during a heart full of love, colm wilkinson and philip quast are so invested in the background. they're leaning over to whisper to each other. they are besties

lea salonga as eponine delivers "i know this house i tell you, there's nothing here for you. just the old man and the girl, they live ordinary lives" like a GODDESS she is EVERYTHING

michael ball surreptitiously wiping his sweat on lea salonga's hair during her death scene. mans is dying a little

drink with me features anthony crivello as a fucking stellar grantaire, and after his verse, enj comes over and puts his hand on his shoulder to comfort him for a very long time. complete with a lingering touch on the arm and everything. fantastic exr crumbs 👍

the clips from the full show of the final battle are hilarious. completely different cast (though only obvious to insane people like us.)

highlights include one of les amis right on the middle of the barricade doing like. a backwards worm he's so into his death throes. he always has me losing my shit

empty chairs at empty tables includes the fucking cruel choice to have the entire les amis cast of actors line up on each side of michael ball and just a step behind so that they're in shadows, all staring sadly at him for the whole song. gives the impression of all the ghosts of marius's dead friends looking on from the afterlife and demanding answers. heart wrenching. THIS IS JUST SUPPOSED TO BE A CONCERT, WHY ARE U DOING STAGING LIKE THIS

beggars at the feast has everyone in the background clapping/tapping along again. love seeing the thenardiers get their due appreciation

the 17 valjeans from other international productions enter after the finale and they all have their gavroches holding their country flags it's so fucking cute

and of course final encore with all the additional valjeans and the whole cast is fucking ACES

ANYWAY if ur looking for a production to watch that is good af this is the top of my list even though it isn't fully staged. it's sooooo. it's some good fucking food. happy barricade day!!

♪ i imagine it'd be very easy for haruka to become.. a little bit possessive over someone he likes. it's actually scary just how little you have to do to make him become obsessed with you. seriously, just be nice to him. give him a warm smile every time he looks at you, never forget to say hi to him, praise him for even the simplest and tiniest things, and that's it, the boy won't be able to get you out of his head. he just doesn't understand why you're so kind to him. he also noticed that even though you're nice to others as well, it feels like you kinda give him.. special treatment, maybe? like, your smile is especially wide whenever you see him and you compliment him more often than others.. there's gotta be a reason for it, right?

and you have no idea that you're only encouraging him to go even more insane while turning back to him, smiling and saying yes.

♪ haruka will try so hard to spend even more time with you from now on. whenever everyone is eating, he always sits right next to you, if you're going somewhere, he's already following you, if you're talking about something, he will eagerly nod and agree with you, no matter what you say. someone like you just can't be wrong. honestly, he doesn't even have to think about anything when he's with you. he can just rely on you, right? he knows he's not the brightest person, but you will take good care of him, right? i mean, it's not like you have a choice.

♪ john doesn't really care about his own feelings. his job is to protect mikoto and that's it. he doesn't have time for other things. and why should he, out of all people, be interested in romance?.. well, uh, that's what he thought. honestly, you're so weird. since the second trial started, he's been the one who's fronting and pretty much all prisoners have been avoiding him, even shidou and kazui, but he wasn't mad or anything. actually, it's better for mikoto's safety if everyone just leaves him alone. but you were an exception. you still were patient with him and you still were nice to him no matter what he said. even if he threatened you, even if he showed that he's more than capable of attacking you and he's totally okay with it, you still believed that he wasn't a bad person. eventually he just gave up and let you do whatever you wanted. as long as you're not dangerous for mikoto, you're okay.. probably.

♪ his trust issues are still bad and he analyzes your every move, but also for some reason your presence feels safer than the other prisoners'. you actually greet him every time you see him, you actually talk to him and you just.. see him as a person? he even tried to ask you about it simply out of curiosity and you gave him a confused look and replied with:

"well, it's true, that you can be a little.. you know, scary, but hey, you're not a monster or anything. just a person who needs a little bit more care and love and that's all, haha." 

.. god, you're weird. how can you just say things like that without a second thought?.. you actually remind him of mikoto a lot.

♪ actually, he's not sure if you still see him as mikoto or someone completely different. how much do you know about him and mikoto? how close were you to mikoto? did mikoto like you?.. well, john doesn't find you suspicious and he actually feels sort of calm when you're around, so that's probably a good sign. and it's also a sign to make sure nothing bad ever happens to you. if mikoto really did like you, he would be devastated if you got hurt. and, um.. john probably wouldn't like it either. he actually feels like you're too nice for this place. sure, he knows you're a murderer as well, but he doesn't really have a right to judge you. so don't be surprised if you start to notice or feel john's presence more often or see john getting visibly annoyed if anyone looks at you in a "wrong" way or says something even slightly mean about you, even as a joke.

♪ yes, he's fine with attacking someone if he gets a feeling that they may do something bad to you. even if that person just doesn't like you that much or they have done something that made you sad, even if it was an accident, it's enough for john to see them as a threat. just don't worry too much about it, okay? it's not like it's your fault or anything. and it's not that hard for john to do it. he's.. uh, used to protecting the people he cares about, so it's fine. and you don't have to worry about him "losing" or anything. he won't calm down until that person gets what they deserve. also, if the guard has anything against you, he won't hesitate to take care of them either. it's fine, you can trust him. just remember to thank him for saving you after he's done.

Back to your point about Silver being the antithesis of Knight of Dawn, and this is where the tissues are truly needed, it shows how much love and environment can influence someone doesn’t it?

Both Dawn and Silver were adopted by someone they care for, but their situation differs.

Dawn was adopted and cared for by his father figure (whom we haven’t met but we know is sick) and this is used as a weapon against him by Henrik. Shouldn’t you be grateful? Shouldn’t you help get the Princess Glow? Don’t you care for your father figure and Princess Leia?

His feelings was constantly used against him. He wasn’t treated as a person but a weapon by those around him. He had no choice in the matter and it was because of this that the Knight of Dawn had to take actions he was clearly against.

Now Silver was raised by Lilia, Malleus, and the Zigvolts. He was raised in an environment where he was truly loved. Silver chose to be a knight who will protect Malleus and Lilia. He wasn’t forced or guilt tripped into it by anyone. He always wanted to do this and he trained for it. 🥹💞

And because of this and because of how well he knows Malleus and Lilia, he was able to stand up against OB Malleus.

He knows Lilia wouldn’t want to be forced to stay, especially if others will be hurt. He knows Malleus is doing this to make everyone happy but it will cost him his life, which no one wants. Not Silver who Malleus did this for, not Lilia who Malleus and Silver doesn’t want to loose, and not Sebek who cares about them and see all the love they have for each other. 💚💚

So Silver is able to make this stand because he had this loving nature and freedom, he’s able to fight back because of it, and he’s willing to stand up for it.

But for the Knight of Dawn? He wasn’t in this nourishing nature. He has his feelings used against him and Henrik was always on him, not only that but he had his comrades who he had to protect. He literally had his hands tied 😔

That’s why the blessing used on Silver is such a big deal, why it’s a show of great love from his parents to Silver.

So Silver would never have to go through what the Knight of Dawn has, so he can live life happily in a world of peace and harmony where all races get along.

Silver doesn’t have to have the heartbreak of what Dawn went through. He can be raised in an loving environment that every child deserves.

We have only known the Knight of Dawn for two chapters so far and the parallels/differences he has with Lilia, Silver, and Malleus is chef kiss and makes me feral. 🫶💚

Y’all I’ve been on a binge and who do u think would watch RuPaul’s Drag Race with Yuu??

Personally, my Yuu is sitting down all the first years. They don’t have a choice. They’re gonna watch this and they’re gonna like it. But I also think Cater, Vil, and Rook would join bc they would love the makeup looks and fashion ofc. Malleus would watch it with them if they asked, I feel like he would be super fascinated like “wow, you humans may not have magic but it seems you don’t need it to entirely transform your appearance.”

After watching like one season Ace just fully adopts the language. At first he tries to catch himself but then he just gives up. He almost looses his head when he offhandedly tells Riddle his pussy is on fire 💀 Cater and Deuce save him with an explanation bc Ace is to busy dying of embarrassment in the background and Trey is losing his mind laughing in the background. After that Trey and Riddle join in on watching, Riddle calls it absurd but he keeps coming back so obviously it’s not that absurd.

Kalim is another one that starts adopting the language! Except he doesn’t try to stop it like Ace does, he tells everyone they look slay and that their pussy is poppin’ and he has no shame. Jamil TRIES to stop this bc “Kalim, you shouldn’t talk like that it’s not proper—” it’s no use, no matter how many times Jamil tries to explain Kalim is on a roll and he is not stopping.

Obvi Jamil was dragged by Kalim after Kalim found out everyone was having movie nights without him :( Kalim was so upset he rushed over to find Yuu and was all pouty like “why didn’t you invite me too :(((((” obvi he is welcome to come so then he and Jamil show up with everyone else ready to watch some Drag Race. Jack doesn’t want to admit that he finds the show appealing. HOWEVER he does go to Epel like “so…. what do you think about that show Yuu made us watch.” EPEL DOESN’T WANT TO ADMIT HE LIKES IT EITHER he thinks it’ll make him seem more girly AND HE CAN’T HAVE THAT so he tells Jack he thinks it’s stupid and he can’t believe it’s such a popular show but he still comes back every weekend just to hang out with everyone.

Sebek goes because Malleus goes !! That’s it !! Not because he finds all the makeup looks pretty who do you think he is ??? Lilia and Silver started tagging along after a while just out of curiosity, Lilia LOVES it. He lives for the drama and def wants to try drag makeup at some point. He asks Silver if he would let him do the makeup on him. Silver says no. Speaking of Silver, he tries to stay awake but he always falls asleep on the couch and someone fills him in when he wakes up. Also Malleus does not get most of the dirty jokes and Yuu is usually the one left to explain them to him 💀 Sebek always tells them not to because “don’t fill his head with such vile and repulsive things !!!” “how do you even know what that joke means ??”— Ace. Sebek doesn’t have an answer for that.

Ruggie enjoys it. I just know this man loves anything messy. He would live for shows like Love is Blind, the Ultimatum, To Hot Too Handle. He just loves trash tv, not just reality tv but like really shitty movies too. He appreciates the sense of community that the queens have though.

Leona literally does not care he couldn’t give less of a shit if someone placed one in his lap he’s just here because the stupid herbivore wouldn’t leave him alone because everyone else was turning up anyway. He 100% falls asleep on the couch and then when he’s woken up just has to sit through someone explaining what’s happened even though he doesn’t care. Sometimes he wakes up and Malleus is just looking over him like “ah you’re awake now, this is what Daya said while you’re asleep,” and then Leona’s eye just twitches and he rolls over and goes back to sleep before Malleus even finished his sentence.

Azul is wondering if this is something he could turn into a business venture. He finds it fascinating. Likes the performance of it all, like the lip sync battles and the fashion show part. He’s wondering if he should implicate a drag night or something at the Monstro Lounge if enough people seemed interested, after all there wasn’t really anything like that on campus. Jade is pretty indifferent, it really depends on what mood Floyd is in if he enjoys it or not. Sometimes he’s just not in the mood !!! He’s just here for snacks and bc he gets to squeeze the prefect.

Ortho loves it !!! He doesn’t get most of the jokes and no one is allowed to explain them to him. Certain parts Idia covers his eyes for. Ortho really started tagging along because he didn’t want to feel left out :( he wants to try his makeup like the queens !!! He thinks everyone is so pretty and it’s abordable. He asks questions about mostly the references that the queens make like “who’s Beyoncé and what are the Spice Girls??”

Idia on the other hand is literally just here because everyone else is and Ortho literally begged him to come out of his room and join everyone. Poor Idia is stressing he doesn’t think Ortho should be watching this bc of all the inappropriate jokes and stuff, he’s also worried Ortho will just start calling people bitches and hoes. It’s ok Idia, he won’t, calm down. He’s pretty indifferent about the show, he brings his tablet or his switch and plays games. Will sometimes look up and spend a few minutes watching before going back to his game.

RIDDLE THINKS THIS SHOW IS RIDICULOUS !!! People are talking so crudely !!! He gets that shocked face that grandparents make whenever there’s a sex joke. Clutching his heart and all. He wonders if this is somehow breaking one of the queens rules because it FEELS LIKE IT IS but he can’t think of a rule that this is breaking and he is mildly fascinated and wants to know who wins the competition. One thing he does wonder about his Yuu’s home world society, in twisted wonderland anyone of any gender wore makeup and clothes weren’t constricted to one gender either. He definitely goes up to them and asks them what their world was like when it came to the divide between men and women. He appalled by everything he hears.

Trey likes the show. He didn’t think he would. He went in thinking it was going to be stupid but then after hearing Ace he decided he needed to at least give it a chance because that was just way to funny. Eventually he gets super invested but will NOT let Cater do drag makeup on him, it doesn’t matter how many times he asks it will always be a no. He thinks it’s so cool and impressive how the queens make their own outfits and stuff.

Vil doesn’t care much for the drama the way Cater does, he loves the makeup and the outfits and the HAIR. He loves the wigs. He acts like one of the judges and gives his input on each of the outfits, he’s super critical about it too and will get so fired up if he disagrees with one of the judges it’s actually kinda funny.

Rook is always backing Vils opinions !!! Adds his own to sense sometimes. Gets so upset when someone he likes is eliminated, he is fake crying and everything. Wait that might actually be a real tear hold on—

The house is mf PACKED and after like three weeks of this Crowley is getting suspicious so he goes over to Ramshackle to figure out what is going on. He gets suckered in too. Despite everything Yuu has a soft spot for the crow bastard now and so he is SITTING DOWN AND WATCHING THIS EPISODE WITH EVERYONE ELSE. At first he’s pretty peeved because what is he doing here sitting with a bunch of his students on a Saturday night at almost 11 o’clock but 15 minutes in he’s hooked and oh my god he needs to tell Crewel about this—

Crewel does end up liking the show and gets super invested but is not an emotional wreck like Crowley is. Occasionally he’s hitting Crowley with his little stick thing because “oh my seven yes it’s sad to hear that they didn’t have a good relationship with their family but quit blubbering you look like a fool.” Crowley is asking Yuu if this is the situation with a lot of drag queens and people of the like and he gets more upset when Yuu says yeah that’s a pretty common occurrence.

(I’m imagining that it’s towards the end of the year and there aren’t any classes happening, the last few weeks are just the entire school chilling because OVERBLOT OVERBLOT OVERBLOT EVERYONE IS TIREDDDD, the staff and specifically Crowley and Crewel are like family to Yuu so they spend time with them outside of school regularly. Who knows one of them might even be adopting them soon 👀)

Yuu has such a good time sharing something from their world with all of their friends and getting to teach them about all the references and stuff that are in the show. They’re so excited when the others express when they like the lip sync songs. They don’t have a lot of their home world left, they’ve chosen to stay and they’re happy with their decision and the life they’ve built here but there’s a part of them that will always miss the little things from their world they weren’t able to bring back with them. They’re only getting to keep a little bit of their world with them so when someone says “hey like that song” they’re overjoyed. They get a little sad when someone asks them to explain something they don’t really know how to, they feel bad they’re not able to satisfy the others curiosity and that there’s something they won’t get to the chance to understand now they’ve permanently moved to twisted wonderland. But it’s ok, it never sticks with them for to long because they’re having to much fun with everyone else.

Now Grim says he doesn’t like the show. And he doesn’t. He doesn’t find any interest in any humans dressing up and saying weird stuff and talking about things he doesn’t understand. But he does like to listen to Yuu talk about the show. He does like listening to the lip sync songs and he asks questions just so Yuu can explain them to him because he wants to know about Yuus roots and where they come from. They’re his only family, he won’t say it out loud but he loves them so much and he loves seeing how happy they get when he shows interest in their home world. He was so scared that they were going to leave him, that once they were gone he would be all alone again, so it’s the least he can do to learn all he can about them since they’re really going to be his family now and aren’t going to leave him.

Also you can totally catch Deuce singing RuPauls entrance song under his breath from time to time. He’s jus doing homework somewhere and then suddenly he’s got a lil wiggle going and he’s muttering “cover girl.. put the base in your walk head to toe.. let your whole body talk..” if you hear him NO YOU DID NOT YOUR LITERALLY DELUSIONAL WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT—

Ok this is what like 4 hours of my brain rot gives you if you have anything to add ADD IT PLEASEEE i tried to cover everyone but yk. Either way I think this is funny and I will be thinking about this for as long as I’m watching drag race 😋

the two of you currently sat on the couch, watching lego batman after you kad lyla give him a powerpoint on why the lego batman movie was a cinematic masterpiece that he was missing out on.

it was all going well, the two of you shared snacks and popcorn. you sipped on your drink of choice.

you smiled contently but then judgementally side eyed miguel who complained that lego spiderman deserved a movie over lego batman.

you were hogging the blanket to yourself because miguel claimed that he didn't need it because he was naturally warm.

you shrugged your shoulders at his statement. the warmth of the blanket felt...comforting, and soon enough, you felt your eyes droop, and your head became heavy.

suddenly miguel felt a warmth on his lap. he looked down and chuckled. you fell asleep on his lap, a small smile was brought to his face at your adorable sleeping expression.

"alright kid, time to go to bed." he lifted you up, but then stopped when he felt something hit him. it was your hand. you had started thrashing in protest.

"kid..you need to go to your room.." he explained gently. you let out a whine.

he groaned at your protest and set you back down on the couch. as soon as he did you protest stopped.

he rolled his eyes and placed you back on the couch, sitting himself back down as well, since he was planning of finishing the movie after putting you to sleep anyways. he hated to admit it but, the kivie was pretty good.

he adjusted the volume down to make sure that it wouldn't disturb you. soon enough, he felt his own eyelids get heavy, and fell asleep next to you.

the two of you peacefully slept until the morning. miguel woke up, confusion and annoyance clouding his vision. why did he feel so warm? and why were there so many spider people surrounding him?

he groaned, and looked around, surprised to see you cuddled into him, still sleeping peacefully. he lightly smiled. his serenity was soon ruined once again when peter b. shoved a phone in his face.

"migs im taking so many pics of this right now" peter childishly laughed, excited to finally have blackmail on miguel.

miguel rolled his eyes and scoffed "whatever" he looked back at you. he was surprised to see that you were still peacefully sleeping despite the commotion.

he covered your ears and then spoke out sternly to the spiders "alright, everybody out right now" he barked at them. the spiderpeople paled and ran out. he looks down at you and smiles softly, uncovering your ears.

by some miracle, you managed to sleep through the commotion. he looks down and sighs, he needs to get up. he poorly attempts to leave his spot without disturbing you but it seems impossible.

he shakes you gently "hey kid..i need you to wake up" he says softly.

you wake up with a yawn, stretching out your arms and then signing a quick sorry to him.

he just smiles at you "it's alright kid" he says.

its almost...weird to see miguel like this.. with a smile on his face, not having work on his mind for once in his life. you want to continue to see him this happy. "i have leftover empanadas if you want some" you sign, offering him some of his favorite food.

he nods "sure kid". the two of you happily eat empanadas together, stuck in your own little world.

Alright so I told myself I wouldn't post anything about it... but I still can't stop thinking about the A!Astarion kisses, Tav/Durge's face during it, and the stupid blow up around it. So here we go

Warnings: This is long and rambly and contains all kinds of spoilers. I am an A!Astarion lover. I will not be responding to discourse on this post. I do not care if you disagree. Make your own vent post.

OKAY so the brunt of the arguments I keep trying to ignore seeing surrounding this are how the expressions are "immersion breaking" for A!A fans, and everyone else clowning on them (sometimes rightfully so tho, ngl) because "the game gives the player expressions all the time! why are u mad now? do u just want ur Tav/Durge to be a blank slate?? lmao idiot" which ??? okay it feels like ur purposefully missing the point.

Yeah, actually sometimes this game gives my Durge some really ooc reactions. And it does, in fact, bother me. That being said, that is to be expected when u take an oc u had for like ten years and try to stick them in a pre-programmed video game. Things are gonna get ooc sometimes.

It also though, is usually smaller moments. Or things that happen Once and then u move on. Conversations where I go "hmmm. he wouldn't say any of these. oh well." or moments where he reacts negatively to terrible things that this evil bastard would normally laugh at. OH. WELL.

Now here's where my frustration actually come in. This game does a really good job, probably a better job than anything else I've played, at letting u play an interesting evil char. Something more than just "I am Rude, Aggressive, and A Dick To Everyone" and thus being punished for it gameplay wise.

I can play The Dark Urge, literal child of the god of murder, a canon necrophiliac, cannibalistic, gore freak that was going to flatten the entire world. There is a whole ass plot line and ending (multiple achievements included!) surrounding doing just that. There's all kinds of nasty interactions/plot options programmed in.

Yet, to the best of my memory, my Durge doesn't look horrified when we choose to slaughter the grove. He doesn't look horrified when we choose to kill the Dame Aylin, or Isobel. He isn't Obviously Distraught when we choose to help Astarion complete the ritual, or when we kill Shadowheart's parents, or become an Unholy Assassin of Bhaal.

To my knowledge, the player character isn't made to look afraid when kissing Dark Justiciar!Shadowheart, nor when they are literally poisoned by kissing Minthara. Sure, u CAN be offended about it in the convo with her after, but its still ur choice as the player.

I mean shit, they even patched in (in that very same patch) a positive, supportive reaction from ur evil partners at the end when u take over the nether brain! (at least for A!Astarion, and Minthara) so now when u do the evil thing that u and ur evil partner have been talking about all game, they don't suddenly change their opinion the second u actually do it.

And I really appreciate that about bg3. I can make evil choices and get interesting outcomes rather than the game just locking me out of all content actually made for that quest. Like ffs u can only get Minthara's romance scene if u slaughter dozens of innocents.

THIS GAME REWARDS U FOR DOING THE BAD THING. And like the evil options do usually have drawbacks and/or are less fleshed out than the good ones, but there are whole ass plots arcs u will never see if u only play good chars. This game makes playing an evil character interesting.

So why is it that I can do all that, and make/have my Durge react (mostly) accordingly, yet the moment the partner I chose acts controlling, now is when my characters feelings are being decided for me?

I can spend the whole game hearing Astarion talk about how spawn are controlled, how all vampires want is power, and I can say to his face "yes! this character wants that! turn me!" and yet somehow... what? the creators think I didn't know?

It just genuinely doesn't make sense to me. Like I can choose, through dialogue, that my Durge is power hungry, and very into the idea of being Astarion's pretty little lap dog. He knew what he was signing up for! And yet he looks terrified when his vampire bf (who has been feeding on him all game) bites his lip?? really?

Idk I just have some really weird feelings on some of the ways they try to Really Emphasize that u made the wrong choice for Astarion specifically, and this just exemplifies that.

Either do the rest of ur characters this service, make all of them (make every choice in the game) a moral lesson for the player to learn, where u hold their hand and say "u didn't listen to what they actually needed :c u could have done the good thing but u didn't :c"

Or let me play my evil bastard. And let me revel in it.

the entire s4 and the build up of byler relationship really convinced me that mike is queer but what bothers me is mike saying he loves el and he can’t lose her again in s3 in front of everyone else what do u think abt that confession scene cuz that scene also convinced me he was indeed in love with el

i feel someone else might be better articulated about this but heres how i feel about that.

when he said that, it was coming from a place of trauma.

mike suffers from survivors guilt from the events of season 1. when el faints in the last episode, her power being [almost] used up, mike realizes he messed up. he realizes he had seen her as some sort of tool for him to use. as the season closes off, we see him realize how in danger el is, and how she needs help. mike naturally being caring and responsible for others (hence ‘the heart’ title), feels this overwhelming guilt once el sacrifices herself for her friends and gets taken away, disappearing in front of his eyes.

because of who he is a person, it’s easy for him to connect certain things, thinking if he had treated her differently then maybe she’d be okay. once she finally comes back in s2, and we enter s3, he begins to become controlling over how and when she uses her powers because he still carries unresolved guilt from the ending of s1.

the thing is though, in reality, it wasn’t her passing out that caused her to disappear. it was el who made the choice to sacrifice herself. but because of who mike is as a person, it’s easy for his brain to connect the wrong things. almost like, “oh i worked her too hard, she ended up disappearing and i lost her, it’s my fault. if i hadn’t done that, she would’ve been here.“ in s2, he believed she could’ve been dead. “she wouldn’t be dead if i had just treated her like a normal person.”

guilt can be so strong that it makes you connect things that just aren’t.. connected.

in the scene you are referring to, he is arguing with max, who believes she knows her own limits and has the right to choose when to and when not use her powers - which, honestly, i agree with her for the most part.

however, i still understand mike. he’s coming from a place of guilt. “i can’t lose her again.” he’s suffering trauma. her simply using her powers doesn’t mean she will magically disappear, but due to past events, that is exactly what it means to mike. he just isn’t communicating that and instead projecting it onto max and the others.

so… why does he say “i love her.” ?

remember, s3 is him trying to be as normal as possible, getting a girlfriend and liking girls and pushing away the things that make you happy - because to him that’s what growing up is about (it’s not, he’s just a repressed homosexual).

this is when things get a bit messy, and the part i have a hard time explaining…. so please bare with me 😭

he remains with el because of the guilt - this relationship is what makes her happy and a place where he can make sure she is safe. he almost feels as if he’s obligated to stay from losing her the first time. he wants to be useful, needed - typical for the type of trauma he’s facing.

because of the ‘normal’ and heteronormative small town and era they live in, and the fact this is the first girl that isn’t repulsed by him, it’s easy for him to confuse all these messy feelings for romantic love. he’s quite literally trying to convince himself it is in s3, and realizes this may not be for him in the end of the season.

so essentially, all these things he’s going through are blurring.

despite realizing how he actually feels, he continues forward in the relationship, despite being unhappy and unfulfilled… sounds familar, huh? (the wheelers need therapy). in the s4 monologue scene, this is where he decides to lie in the hole he dug himself in, lying to el saying he loves her.

mike believes lying about this is the best for the both of them - somewhere where they’re most comfortable. el is happy and safe under his supervision, mike stays away from confronting his trauma and accepting his sexuality.

he’s internalized this mindset. this is his s3-self understanding of love.

so when he says “i love her,” it’s coming from a place of unresolved trauma. the trauma, societal expectation, his own parents’ relationship - it’s all so internalized that his brain has confused this hurt for love.

that’s why in the end of the season he explains it was “heat of the moment stuff.” it wasn’t coming from a place of romantic love, it was coming from a place of hurt. but el understood it as otherwise, kissing him as mike stands there conflicted, unable to move, realizing the situation he’s put himself in.

as i said, there’s probably someone wayy more articulated about this. but thank you for the question! i still liked thinking about this anyway! :D

Neytiri’s song!!!! I connected with her so much in that moment!! What a perfect way to recapture the first movie’s events!! Also her sentiment... her love for her people... her grief. She suffers so much.

That moment where Lo’ak swims into Payakan’s gaping mouth. Whoa.

The use of the color yellow in connection with Kiri. She’s like a warm hug. I love that so much about her and about that artistic choice

the Ikran riding was nothing short of SPECTACULAR. I could have watched that endlessly.

I don’t like the boys being “military sons” because I can’t connect with that. To me, Jake was being way too hard on them. He was mad at them the entire time, yet didn’t look out for them at all. I mean, what was HE doing during all the time the kids spent training to be underwater?? He wasn’t devising any defense tactics, he was just like absent from the plot??? He didn’t even really try to fight back too?

visuals were STUNNING, music was underperforming. It’s like they didn’t even bother to write a new score. that was disappointing...

SPIDER IS EVERYTHING. I know it looks like he’s not doing anything most of the time but that’s exactly the point! He’s a stray. He serves no purpose, no one wants him, yet he exists. He spends his time watching and observing how the circumstances he grew up in came to be. It happened before his time, so he’s trying to make sense of everyone’s point of view. And then he ACTS and it becomes clear that he was never going to betray the Sullys and I’m like aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Neteyam’s burial... I cried. I hate that Jake was waking up to his other kids’ existence only when they lost the eldest son. I’ll say it again, Jake was being way too hard on his boys and weirdly soft with the girls. Bleh. But that “I see you” he spoke to Lo’ak...that was the beginning of something awesome. One of the few emotionally powerful moments of the film.

I love that the battle against Quaritch’s clone happened rather spontaneously like “ok then let’s get this over with” lol. Also with knives only. So intimate. The one-on-one wrestling was so much more personal than a machine gun standoff could have been!!

The Sully kids saved both their parents’ sanity and Idk what to think about that. Yes they have been through a lot. No it should be the other way round - the parents taking care of and comforting the kids that were ripped from their home.

NEYTIRI’S WRATH IS A WHOLE AESTHETIC IN ITSELF TO ME. It was unexpected but so rewarding. It makes sense to me why she would choose this and it’s epic to watch. That moment where Spider hides from her - ,,, AUUUGHHHHH

Also the moment Spider fights back with a fire extinguisher lol. I love how he has both human and Na’vi characteristics. He’s a kid of both worlds and will use the environment around him accordingly.

The moment Lo’ak woke up on Payakan’s back. Also the moment where the tulkun shoots the water fountain and Lo’ak goes like “that’s disgusting” XD

The Metkayina were suuuuuuuuper pretty!!!!!!!! Also tattooed tulkuns WOOWWW!!!!!!

I LOVED the open dislike between Neytiri and Ronal!!! RARELY do you see two women hiss at each other DUUUDE

I’m gonna be really, really honest about something and I hope I won’t track hate for it... look, the use of sign language underwater was obviously really smart. However. I would have much preferred more Na’vi being spoken instead. I felt the use of sign language was introduced too early and too prominently. Like, this could have been cool in the third movie. But I basically hoped for the entire movie to be spoken in Na’vi. I came for the Na’vi, not for sign language. Sure, it could be interpreted as naturally overwhelming to the viewer as it must have been overwhelming to the Sullys... but it should have been addressed as overwhelming then. They adapted more or less seamlessly, the audience didn’t. ...yeah.

It was so good seeing Grace again. Sosososososososo good. 

So many plot holes in the overall movie lol

I missed Norm. And Trudy. I’m really mad that Trudy died.

Having a female officer/General whatever lead the RDA’s evil campaign this time was refreshing though.

The callback to Neytiri’s arrows and that fateful day where she shot Quaritch was really great. I love how he hunted HER, too. 

Leaving all the scrap metal and the corpses from the first battle to rot in the forest felt really insulting to the planet of Pandora and to the Na’vi lifestyle though. Like... would you really want your kids to randomly stumble upon skeletons??? Sure they possibly couldn’t find every dead body to bury, and their priority must have been the Omaticaya casualties, but it seems really disrespectful to the humans AND to the forest to just... leave everything an open battlefield. I’m sure the military base could have recycled the scrap metal, using it for repairs on their technology. Since they were kinda cut off from terran supply ships now, they must have kept their breathing, living and research equipment up to date somehow. And the forest deserved to be natural/untouched again. It shouldn’t have become a constant reminder of what went down. Anyway...

At first, I was a little bit confused by the long aesthetic, atmospheric sequences of the movie. Like, where’d all the action go? But somehow, it was relieving to not have constant battle disturb the visual feast and the relational developments. The Sullys got a little time to regroup. To breathe. Which is a main theme in this movie. I’m glad the action came just in time and didn’t disappoint. The director chose a different narrative structure this time and it confused the heck out of the audience. But the more I let it sink in, it was the perfect choice!!! It’s what we wanted and needed!!!

i'm really struggling with letting go of people and not vilanizing myself. like if they chose to cut me from their life then i must be a bad guy? :( tbh i was just wondering if u had any advice in regards to this?

The simple truth is people are imperfect and will not always make their decisions based off an objective assessment of who you are as a person. Some people just choose the easy way out (avoiding conflict) by cutting you off completely, bc that’s much easier than deliberating over a problem and handling it in a well-rounded way. What makes this even worse is the fact that that kind of thinking is romanticized by pop psychology advice these days—cutoff culture is bigger now more than ever, even when it’s not necessarily the answer. It gets packaged as a confident, no-nonsense approach; the reality is that some people are too weak (or maybe just not emotionally intelligent enough) to deal w your/their feelings. So they remove you from their life altogether.

Obviously I don’t think this is always the ethical thing to do. Sometimes it is the right call to cut someone from your life, but in typical tiktok fashion, people have taken this too far and misapplied it to relationships that simply deserve more than that. You don’t owe everyone everything, but you do owe some people a form of explanation as to why you’re literally terminating them from your life. It depends on the degree of closeness and the situation that instigated the rift to begin with. Deciding when to cut off and when to communicate is an important skill to have—but not a lot of people have it.

Another possibility is just that you did cross their boundaries, you did something you weren’t supposed to do, it was hurtful enough to warrant this recourse, etc… and in that case you have no choice but to review your behavior, vow to yourself not do it again, and move on. This is your first time being alive. Not your second or your third. You’re bound to make mistakes. Everyone is. That’s where healthy self-compassion comes in: with recognizing these mistakes, but with not beating yourself up for them forever. It may read as cliche, but you’re literally human & mistakes are literally unavoidable. It’s when you refuse to adapt your behavior and move on that issues arise.

If you don’t grant yourself the gift of forgiveness, you’ll find it impossible to forgive anybody else. Be graceful and patient w yourself, but don’t make a habit of repeating mistakes. Chapter Four — Truth

Pissed was an understatement.

You knew your sleep felt too fulfilling. You felt it in your dreams that you'd been sleeping for too long.

Link had chosen not to wake you for your night shift, opting to sit on a stool next to your bed with a book lying around the stable the entire night.

You felt off, wondering why chirping birds had woken you from your slumber instead of Link, before shooting up in the bed and looking around. It was getting light outside, the clock on one of the support beams of the stable reading "6:20".

Beside you, Link dog-eared the book page and tilted his head innocently. "Are you alright?"

"You!" Your head whipped around to him, "You didn't wake me up!"

"You needed sleep."

"So do you, asshat."

Link shook his head, putting the book down and standing up to stretch. "I slept for 100 years. I'm fully rested still."

You rolled your eyes. "As if."

Still slightly seething, you kicked the blankets off, shivering as the cool air hit your legs. You quickly put your socks and shoes on, grabbing your bag and getting ready to travel. Link was already outside readying the horses, and he handed you an apple for breakfast.

Taz and Epona seemed to follow the trails by heart now, which made it incredibly easy for Link to multitask looking at the paper map. He lifted the sheet up to you, pointing at a specific spot that was marked with an X.

"This mark is supposed to be Zora's Domain." He explains, "It'll probably take a while to get there, especially if we try to just catch stables to rest. Hate to break it to you, but we might be coming upon our first camp."

You groaned, half playfully and half not. Who could blame you, though?

"Goodbye, warm bed." You slumped into Taz's neck, earning a small chuckle from Link. "Are we going to the tower first? To get the actual map on your little gadget?"

"The Sheikah Slate? Yes." Link squinted at the map for a second time. "Before that, though. I want to head back to Impa to talk to her about my memories, so maybe we can take a shortcut through Kakariko to cut down time."

"We'd have to turn back and go down the other trail." You replied.

"It's like, a 10 minute ride back. You'll be fine."

"I'm not complaining!" You gasped, feigning offense. "If anything I'm, uh, rejoicing."

Link quirked an eyebrow. "About what? You can't be that excited to spend more time with me." He teased. The longer you spent with him, the more sassy and talkative he's become. Your only choice is to rival his sarcasm with your own.

"You're gonna make me hurl." You shot back, "In actuality, I want to ask her some things too." Sensing Link's silence as a motion to continue, you did. "She had to have known my parents before my siblings and I got taken. We lived in Kakariko. So maybe she knows something about the night it happened or anything that could lead me to Hiro."

You were silently kicking yourself in the rear for not thinking of it before, when you were originally in Kakariko. If Impa had been the Chief 100 years before your existence, and has been since then, then surely she knew of your family.

Link nodded, not pushing further. He'd figured out by now that your past was something you weren't ready to talk about. You both turned the horses around and headed back up the road, basking in a comfortable silence as you traveled towards the village.

Impa spoke to Link first.

You were allowed to stay in the room this time, as Link had told her you were traveling partners. It was interesting to watch from the sidelines as the two spoke of Link's missions— the Divine Beasts, Ganon, regaining his memories.

It all seemed so overwhelming to you, and yet Link stood firm. Ready to give his life again for a country he didn't even remember. You admired him for it.

It made your own mission seem smaller in comparison, so when Impa sent Link out to run errands for her for you to speak alone, you felt like a bug. Just waiting to be squashed under scrutiny. But that insecurity faded quickly as the door shut behind Link and Impa regarded you with a warm, familiar smile.

"It's been quite a long time, hasn't it?"

Relief flooded your system. She remembered you.  "Yeah." You let out a breathy laugh, "It has. I, uh, actually have some questions. About that night."

"It seems as if trauma does not discriminate with repressed memories, does it? Whether it be an abduction or a hundred-year-old injury."

Pressing your lips together, you agreed once more. You struggled to make the words come out of your mouth. Too many questions floated through your head, and you couldn't choose which to ask first. As if sensing your unease, Impa spoke again.

"I'm assuming you'd like to know what happened."

You nodded. "It's been so long. Even if I did remember it all, it would be fuzzy."

"You were eleven whenever the Yiga attacked Kakariko. Your brother was eight, and your sister was only two." Impa started from the beginning, her eyes continuously assessing your reaction. "They came in the middle of the night, and lit the town ablaze. The people of Kakariko evacuated and met up at the mouth of the mountain, where the entrance to the town is, and did a headcount. Your entire family was nowhere to be found."

"What happened to my parents?" You were aware of the implications, and figured they had moved on from such a traumatic event in their life. Perhaps they had moved to another village to escape.

Impa averted her eyes, which confirmed the worst for you. "We found their bodies, but we could not find you three. We thought that perhaps the flames burned so hot that you all were gone without a trace, but soon after, a few Sheikah soldiers went undercover at the Yiga hideout for intel. Calamity Ganon is close to being back, so the Yiga have been more active.

We found files pertaining you— they had been watching for years. Waiting for a moment to strike. We wanted to get you out, but the Yiga had you all so heavily guarded. It was nearly impossible. One day, however, another mission went undercover and couldn't find you. That's when we heard of the escape. I figured it was only a matter of time until one of you came home."

You didn't speak for a moment, letting it all sink in. They were actively trying to find you. "Why us? We were just kids."

"100 years ago, before Calamity Ganon's return, your great grandfather was the top researcher of Sheikah technology. He worked alongside the King of Hyrule, Princess Zelda, and myself to prepare for the battle ahead." Impa smiled fondly, as if she was remembering the good times with your ancestor. "For some reason, the Guardians just listened to him. They activated at his touch while dead to everyone else. They were finicky things— still dangerous, even back then. And yet they'd listen to everything your great grandfather did.

The same went for your grandmother, and then your mother. My guess is that the Yiga believed one of you possessed the same gift of controlling such uncontrollable energy that our ancient technology contained. They wanted you on their side, so they could easily control it whenever the time came."

Reeling. That was the only word to describe your mental state.

You'd spent years— captive and free— wondering why. Why such things happened to you, how you played into these little plans that the Goddesses gave you. It almost felt comforting, though, when there was doubt. An idea that the Yiga grabbed you for no reason, or had the wrong people.

"How did you recognize me? It's been eight years."

"You're the mirror image of your father, dear." Impa gestured to the right of her, to a picture on the wall. You cautiously walked towards it, nervous to see whatever the frame held, yet fear was soon replaced with an entire flurry of emotions. 

Happiness, nostalgia. Grief. 

It was a family of five-- your family. You held Kimi against your hip, smiling a toothy, child-like grin as the baby version of your sister sucked her thumb. Hiro sported his signature pout, the picture taken while he was in the middle of rolling his eyes. Very typical. 

What stuck out the most, however, was your parents. Their eyes were shining so brightly, and their smiles matched. Your mom was looking at you and your siblings with absolute adoration. Your father looked at her in the exact same way. 

Your heart ached.  

They loved you so much. They probably gave their lives protecting you, Hiro, and Kimi until the very end. 

"This was taken only days before the incident." Impa explained, "It hangs as a memorial, but I want you to take it. Keep it as your own memorial now, in remembrance of not only your family, but also for your journey." 

"My family isn't entirely gone. I  found Kimi, just not Hiro." 

Impa sighed. "I cannot help you there, but he is out there. An old lady knows it all." There was a twinkle in her eye as she winked. "Another thing. Rely on Link more. He speaks highly of you." 

"He does? I haven't done anything, though--"

"100 years ago, Link was regarded as the Silent Knight." Impa all but interrupted you, presumably to keep you away from the route of self-doubt. "He never spoke to anyone. It took the Princess ages to even get a sentence out of him. I know not if it has to do with him simply forgetting who he used to be, or your presence, but he is open. Talkative. Relaxed. I saw him smile for the first time during our talk today, and it was when he was telling a story about you. Link is opening up to you, and it would help your journey so much if you did the same." 

You looked back at the picture frame on the wall. At first, you felt so much despair thinking about the family you'd lost. You hadn't even thought about what you gained. 

Your family in Gerudo-- Romah, Olu, Ashai, even the newest Chief had made your acquaintance during your stay. Impa. Link. 

People were there to support you, even if they weren't your family. They were found, not given, and chose you. Going out of their way to love you. 

And as you took the picture out of the frame and folded it into your pocket, thanking Impa for her time, you smiled. A real, genuine smile. The first one in a very long time. 

"And don't forget to pull your collar up on the back of your neck!"

Hi Snaily! How have you been? Im here for a pretty serious ask.

My boyfriend has been drawing for a while, I honestly think he's doing real good. But recently he's been feeling down about his art, he doesn't know why he should bother improving his art if his style is *basic* to some people, and it hurts a lot for him. He knows he should be drawing for fun and not force improvement to stress him out, but there's only so much I can do as his loving partner who doesn't draw at all.

So... what was it like for you, Snaily? When you started drawing many years back, how did you not feel like shit looking at how it could be better but you don't know how? What advice can you give to a beginner artist?

I'm gonna reply to this publicly because to be honest i can't resist to give this kind of advice to any and all beginner artists (but i am putting it under a readmore because as you know i love to ramble and this will get LOOONNNGGG and will Truly be The Ramblings of a Mad Man (gender neutral))

firstly, since I hear that he feels hurt by the idea that people out there might find his style "basic". That's a rookie mistake (that literally everyone makes when they start getting Serious about Art). The mistake being Caring Profoundly About an Outside Audience that's Ever Watching and Judging.

Which I literally cannot blame him or anyone for it, ESPECIALLY in this modern social media landscape where newer artists feel like they gotta get GOOD at the VIRAL RAT RACE so you gotta get that sweet, sweet validation in the form of likes, reblogs, retweets etc etc.

So that's my first tip I suppose: don't fall for the entrapment of being obsessed with getting any and all sorts of SWEET VALIDATION during your art process. This is hard to condition yourself to! I myself fall prone to it! It's actually kind of natural. Even if the validation you seek isn't online, surely you're expecting it from your peers or teachers or family members or whoever gets to look at your sketchbook (or you know, your medium of choice).

You want people to notice your art and all the effort you put into it. It's okay! DO welcome those who do!! But never NEVERRRRRR NEVERRRRRR commit the mistake of placing the value of your art on how much praise it gets from others. That's a one trip road on having an Absolute Bad Time. THE ONLY PERSON you should be looking to make happy with your art is YOURSELF first and foremost!!! Always!!! This is the Golden Rule!!!

So people (imagined or otherwise) think his style is """Basic""". Okay! That's literally not a crime anyone can arrest you for!! So what if you're LITERALLY starting and your art looks """basic"""!!!!!!! WHAT IS THE CRIME HERE!!!! CAN'T MY MAN JUST CREATE IN PEACE!!!! LET HIM COOK!!!!!

If he's starting out, i think it's pretty expected of him to just have a "basic" style you know? He shouldn't be ashamed of it! The best chef in the entire world right now didn't start making The Most Delicious Food To Ever Grace Anyone's Plate on DAY 1. They probably started with a goshdang sandwich. Many of them maybe. Until they could make the Perfect Sandwich even in their Sleep and only until then they felt ready enough to explore Further Possibilities In The Kitchen.

(Is this metaphor working? I sure hope it is!)

Anyway.

"How did you not feel like shit looking at how it could be better but you don't know how?"

Well that's a fun question because to this day I get extremely frustrated whenever I realize my Art Level isn't up to my standards. But THAT'S OKAY- even in my case!

If you're Serious About Art (as in, you LOVE making art) you'll constantly feel like you're having to catch up to artists that are doing MILES better than you. Which happens to everyone. Truly it's only the curse of having A Good Taste In Art (so you automatically Set Standards For Yourself based on what you personally consider Great Art).

So again, something to not be ashamed of. But also something to Learn To Live with. I get it!! I truly do!! You see some guy online who apparently is only 14 and they're already making compositions with complex perspectives and an amazing sense of color theory and you'll want to bite off your hands!!!! But you can't let that stop you!!

You're just gonna have to learn to Fail, Constantly. Failing Gracefully! Sucking At Art Again and Again!

You might think this conflicts with the Golden Rule (i mean, if you're not happy with your own art- then what's the point yeah?)

But it's all about Love babey. Loving the process of failing constantly, because deep down you REALIZE you're learning how not to suck little by little.

It's also an exercise in letting Spite guide you. So what if you're bad!!!!!! What if you've somehow committed the crime of being A Bad Artist!!!!!! The cops will never catch me fucker!!!!! SEE HOW I DESECRATE THE HOLY ACT OF "CREATING GOOD ART" AHAHAHAHA!!!! LITERALLY NOBODY CAN STOP ME!!!!! <- the attitude to Have. Yes you gotta be prepared to be Unhinged and to have active Disdain towards 4th Plane Entities that are probably judging your art quality. (Unless my experiences aren't universal and nobody else feels a salacious self-satisfaction whenever they draw something that looks like an affront to The Universe, knowing they can just Try Again).

Anyway those are the benefits of sprinkling a little Spite alongside all the Love for the process of Making Art.

At the start you might feel like you're only making bad art. So! Own it! unironically my life philosophy is that everyone should make more BAD ART!!! ARTISTS OF THE WORLD UNITE TO MAKE MORE BAD ART, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT YOUR CHAINS!

that's for the mental approach at least.

So, what about the technical side? How do you actually take all those feelings of inadequacy and wrangle them into something productive that will help YOU get better at the art you want to make?

with the warning that i am a self taught artist so i might not the the perfect person to ask, but truly the most IMPORTANT skill you want to hone is OBSERVATION and COPYING WHAT YOU OBSERVE.

Basically you're gonna study the artists you like! You're gonna stare REAL HARD at the details in the art they make! And THEN. You're gonna try to copy THAT! Hell, you might even want to TRACE what they do at first** (**THIS ADVICE IS FOR PRACTICING. DO NOT TRACE AND THEN POST ONLINE FOR OTHERS TO GO "hey man wtf this is just you tracing X Artist" DO NOT!!! DO THAT!!!) just so you get a feel for what they have in their art that You Don't and learning how to slowly replicate that.

That's how I learned the ropes at least. Literally printing manga panels and then tracing over them during my Peak Weeb Years. Ah little snaily, how time flies. Another thing i liked to do was watch speedpaints of artists i liked but at like -2x speed. So it was a slowpaint and i could STEAL THEIR SECRETS <- another valuable art skill

Anyway, that's what I think it's the most important (to observe!)

...but also you might want to either take art classes OR watch a buuuuunch of tutorials on youtube for The Basics (basic anatomy! shading! values! color theory! perspective! gesture drawing!!!)

You feel like shit about your art? Fine! Then realize your life is your own and you have the absolute power to change that directly!! GO ON YOUTUBE AND LEARN THOSE BASICS!!!!!! don't be like me and struggle this much with perspective after years of making art!!!! (Though in all fairness, even those good at it struggle with it lol)

So! I am all out of advice for a newer artist.

TL,DR: YOU WILL SUCK A LOT AT FIRST BUT THE MORE YOU PRACTICE AND LEARN ABOUT YOUR FAILURES, THE MORE YOU'LL LOVE TO SEE YOUR IMPROVEMENT AND EVENTUALLY YOU'LL BE ABLE TO DO THE ART YOU WANT TO MAKE.

lemme start off with our favourite Miss Jolly Rancher Unhinged Clock and Victorian-Era HWR Fangirl. I KNEW Ravonna had somehow helped HWR in building the TVA, but him erasing her memories was straight up evil.

Then we come to the absolutely gruesome deaths of Dox and the others. HOLY SHIT MISS JOLLY RANCHER IS AWFUL like she was enjoying every second of Dox and her hunters literally getting crushed to their deaths. B-15 was traumatised, to say the least and you can see on Ravonna and Brad's faces a hint of disgust. But Miss Minutes grinning like that - outright disturbing.

I can't get over OB and Victor fanboying over each other's work - it was so funny yet wholesome.

Now let's talk about Loki and Sylvie. As a diehard Sylki stan you know I am, my fangirling heart was overjoyed seeing these two lovesick ducks working together willingly! I mean, yea, they did have that rather awkward talk in Pie Land (mind you that's it's official name henceforth) but after that they worked together as teammates! Now I must say, I completely agree with Sylvie on snapping on Mobius, because, well, yeah, the multiverse is a bigger priority than pie and I legit don't get why tf antis hate on Sylvie for doing so. Like you hated her for not giving a damn abt the TVA + the multiverse, but now when she stood up to do so y'all are hating on her again?? Like?? Make up ur mind, smh.

Anyways, back to Sylki. Sylvie got stuck in the elevator and the way she and Loki worriedly called out each other's names was so soft! And the "You ok?" trope CAME BACK OMG! THAT PHRASE IS LITERALLY THE BACKBONE OF SYLKI! When I tell you my fangirling heart screamed with joy omg-

The the whole paradox scene which brought Ep 1 back in a circle. I absolutely loved the way our Loki realised what he had to do and went real slow to prune his past self just so that Past Loki could get a glimpse of Sylvie; which would then lead him to be more determined than ever to go look for her. And I quite literally died on Sylvie being confused af as to wtf she just witnessed.

Then there's the telephone scene. OH MY GOD it was literally OB all this time when fans were out here speculating it was Kang or someone lmao. Both Loki and Sylvie yelling simultaneously to turn the security thing off gives out so much Couple Vibes, I absolutely loved it AAHHAHAH-

AND. THE. BRAD. SCENE. OOF.

our friendly neighbourhood lovesick ducks teaming up to enchant Brad was just too good. Loki in his hot, creepy voice luring Brad into a dark area while Sylvie very swiftly just straight up grabbing his face from the back - pure horror. Absolutely loved it, 10/10. Tho I must say, to do execute elaborate scheme, these two must have done some detailed planning (=more Sylki moments we were robbed off).

BUT THAT ENDING DUCKING MURDERED ME BROO OMG

Can we talk abt Victor's redemption? Man had been portrayed as evil since Quantumania, and has been manipulated by both Ravonna and Miss Jolly Rancher, but at the end of the day, he was a sweetheart. Man fanboys OB and basically became besties with him and Casey, worked together to create the solution to a mess he most certainly didn't want to be a part of, and then himself stepped up to fix the Loom once and for all to prove to everyone (and not let Sylvie's choice of sparing him go to waste) that tho he contained HWR's DNA, he wasn't HWR - he was a far better person HWR could have ever been. Seeing him getting spaghettified was tragically heart-wrenching, man deserved so much better :(

BUT HOLY SHIT DID THAT ONE HECK OF A GODDAMN CLIFFHANGER LEFT ME SPEECHLESS LIKE WTF WAS THAT?? U can't just kill off a character who had redeemed himself, and then make our main character and his homies watch literally EVERYTHING THEY WORKED SO HARD FOR GET ANNIHILATED TO THE GROUND-

But we know our God of Mischief isn't dead, and so are his homies eheheh.

However the looks on everyone's face was tragic. Loki knew all was lost and had tears in his eyes. Sylvie looked like she had accepted defeat and her death. Mobius and OB were in denial, refusing to believe that Victor was dead. Casey and B-15 looked horrified, as they realised what was to come now upon them.

Tldr, this episode was an ABSOLUTE BANGER. IM READY TO CLAIM IT SUPERIOR THAN ENDGAME, come and fight me. Its a top cinematic piece, and the suspense to Ep 5 is eating me up.
