NO DUDE IT WAS GENUINELY SO WILD I WAS LIKE “HUH????” basically long story short heejin is god and created the three planes of the loonaverse- earth, the middle plane (forgot what it’s called) and eden- and then yves starts fucking things up in eden and everything goes to shit ! but the best part of all this is that what you said is exactly what happened. jack and i were playing music video roulette (basically just going back and forth and we each show one music video at a time)- i showed him tagx3 on my turn and he showed me new (yves’s solo song) on his. we were both Very Impressed and had a second hangout meeting dedicated exclusively to me walking him through vrvr’s lore and him walking me through loona’s. this lasted about 2 and a half hours. the craziest part is i sent my first ask to you about two days after that meeting! i stalk the verivery tag bc i’m always looking for content and i saw you posting abt gyehyeon and i said “you know what i am So Down to create even more verrers” and now here we are!!

JINO ACCIDENTAL ARSONIST HELL YEA ABSOLUTELY. god i love the idea of the decelis dorms having a kitchen that the students are allowed to just screw around in,, it feels so fun and domestic to me?? also its making me relate back to my OWN family as well because both my parents have been professional chefs in the food industry for multiple decades each, and because of this their heat tolerance (physically, not pertaining to the spice levels of food) is WAY higher than mine. like if i heat something up in the microwave i have to get it out with minimum one, usually two hot pads because ill risk dropping it otherwise, meanwhile ive watched both my parents reach into the oven and pull shit out completely bare-handed multiple times over the course of my life. and im always just like ???? woman HOW are you able to do that. what. i can totally imagine jino, a dude with LITERAL FIRE AND HEAT IMMUNITY POWERS taking that to the ultimate extreme. he has never used a hot pad or an oven mitt in his life. he probably stuck his hand in boiling hot wax once and didnt even flinch (whether it was on purpose to impress someone or on accident because he's a himbo and didnt even realize is up to you). he scares his classmates on the regular with his inhuman heat tolerance, and also helps them with baking projects. i too have a lot of jeelings (jino feelings)

i didn't have anything i wanted to speak on too too specifically so apologies ahead of time if this is all over the place ! first tho, i read a thread recently about vrvr's writing ? / speaking styles from a translator ! and i noticed some of the things they were talking about too... i also ! have the diy version of face you ! where the members all wrote a short message and i felt in those messages and in the letters too you can really see each of their personalities kind of clearly ? for lack of a better description ;;;; like we talked about minchan's ;;;; there's something very earnest and genuine in his ;;;; which probably took immense courage on his part ... and also like we talked about it seems his feelings are a bit difficult to lay out when he describes them ;;;;

and i get this from some of the members too ? i feel like i'm probably most familiar with dongheon fgjhdgjd i haven't been a verrer long but ;;;; i sit in on a lot of his vlives and i've mentioned it before but he has a lot of ?? cuteness in the way he speaks looool i honestly think that's just how he talks normally ;;;; you'll see in his letter too he uses a lot of exclamations points and the TT in one of his answers ;;;; i felt like nothing he said really surprised me, but his genuine interest in song production and that whole process is really endearing to me personally ;;;; he talked about it too in his voice vlive but he's had a lot of worries and struggles for this upcoming promotion and i think you can kinda tell from the way he talks about stuff but it's mixed in with fanservice (?) so,,, not gonna try and project ;;;; but i know he's been working really hard ! and i am proud of him u.u (*cringe cringe*)

hoyoung and gyehyeon LMAO fkjhgdkjfgh ... they both rarely do solo vlives so i haven't heard them talk too much on their own and in their letters too, it's pretty ! straightforward and to the point ! both of their answers are short and concise, no extra add-ons... maybe it's bc i'm gyehyeon biased (now ?? ig ???) but i feel like he's always surprisingly warm in some ways ... really did not take him for the fanservice type at all but i'm starting to see more of it ;;;;; of course take my interpretations as you will as a baby verrer </3 i don't see them both as too talkative to begin with so not much insight i could provide for their letters ! i just thought it was kinda funny, if you removed the names and pics i probably would have been able to point out who's who if you asked kjfghdjkfg oh ig another thing you can really tell that performance is a big motivator for gye ;;;; he's always been kind of an enigma to me so it's hard for me to read past that

“Connect + Thunder” DIY M/V Breakdown

So the first thing I noticed right away was all these red edits that quickly glide over an object the member is holding or is near

Kangmin = His missing poster

Dongheon = Computer

Minchan = A piece of paper on the board he is studying turns red, and highlights the word “SCARE”

Yeonho = Newspaper

Hoyoung = A blanket or jacket draped on the left in his frame

Yongseung = Baseball

It is worth noting that Gyehyeon never has anything turn red near him (unless you count Yongseung’s baseball because I guess he was near it, but it doesn’t really make sense)

Blindfolds

I think we all know by know that blindfolds and eye covering are a common occurrence in Verivery MVs since Tag Tag Tag.

However, a new player joins the blindfold scene as Yeonho picks up a blindfold off the ground and it puts over his eyes

This shifts to a scene of Dongheon alone in a room with a blindfold covering his eyes

This is likely a call back to the end of Photo in which Kangmin covered Dongheon’s eyes with his hand

During the transition between Yeonho and Dongheon a few words are splayed across the screen:

“SIGHTLESS”

“DISCONNECTED”

While Kangmin was seen running in the Thunder MV, Yongseung is the one running away in this MV during the exact same chanting part

During Hoyoung’s part multiple words appear on the screen in a jumbled mess:

“DREAD”

“ANXIETY”

“PANIC”

“INAUTHENTIC”

“BLIND”

“BIZARRE”

“SIGHTLESS”

Hoyoung and Minchan are seen on opposite sides of a fence, but they aren’t looking at or facing each other

Gyehyeon wakes up alone in a room

Now, what is worth noting is that at two points in the MV (in the first half in the second half) there are quick shots of each of the members alone somewhere

However, it is Gyehyeon that is given the focus of being alone

This is where I think the red highlights on the objects in the very beginning of the MV could have some significance as Gyehyeon was the only member who did not have anything near him turn red

“Profitetur et Timuit me” is Latin for something along the lines of “He acknowledges and he has feared me.” (I pulled out of my Latin textbook and notes from last semester for that lol)

Their stage uniforms notably only appear after the words “Deep inside” which could connect to this idea of facing the person, or feelings deep inside of you. Which is sort of the theme that Verivery seems to have been going for, from I’ve gathered in their explanations.

Each member of the group disappears one by one (with the exception of Kangmin and Dongheon), which could possibly suggest that they are all alone and isolated right now (and maybe emphasizing the connection between Kangmin and Dongheon? Or it’s just because they were right next to each other and they had to disappear together for the editing to work.)

Finally, the final scene is shown from what I assume is Gyehyeon’s perspective on the floor and over the corner door a sign flickers to life that reads “Verrer” (it might say “To Verrer” but I can’t fully make out the words on top of “Verrer”)

This verrer sign is notably taking the place of a traditional exit sign, which could suggest Verrers being the exit from whatever craziness the members seem to be trapped in

This is not a theory! This is just a collection of the many things I noticed while watching the DIY M/V that I think could carry some significance. I don’t have an ongoing theory at the moment, just lots of loose threads, but if you have one please feel free to share!!

Verivery Tidbits:

Joining Road to Kingdom introduced Verivery to more people and subsequently increased their fandom.  The survival show was shown on Mnet and ran from April 30 to June 18, 2020.

Their 90-second performance, “Face It”, introduced Verivery’s sharp and synchronized dancing.

They chose to cover “Mansae” for the Song of King challenge, as Seventeen is one of the senior groups that they look up to.  This is where Kangmin’s iconic “Will you walk with me?” line made its appearance.

Verivery chose to do a horror concept with “Photo” for the My Song stage.  Ravi of VIXX gave the boys pointers on how to do their performance.

Verivery was paired with TOO for the Collaboration stage.  Being at the bottom two in ranking, the groups decided that all members will appear/participate in their cover of BTS’ “On”.  Dongheon gained some popularity for showing how he managed to make seventeen people dance in sync, and the existence of his “secret room” was not so secret anymore.

For the Your Song challenge, Verivery performed a song that their collaboration partner (TOO) picked, which was Mamamoo’s “gogobebe”.  The group’s performance was filmed in one take.

For the Finale, Verivery used “Beautiful-x” a B-side track from their upcoming album “Face You”.  The performance is dedicated to their fans, Verrers, and contained spoilers for their comeback song “Thunder”.  Kangmin and Yeonho did sign language in one part of the routine, where they say “we love you and will never change”.  Including sign language was Kangmin’s idea. bro since my big lore convo with vrvr anon ive gotten, like, SUPER sensitive to lore/storyline stuff present in vrvr's mvs. im watching get away rn and lemme tell you MMMM there is some SHIT in this one

i think minchan was out of action this comeback for health reasons, but they still did a good job of incorporating him into the storyline-- there's the person at the beginning of the mv whose face we dont see thats getting kidnapped with the bag pulled over it and everything, who's also wearing that compass on their wrist (?)-- we can presume that this is minchan, since he seems to have flashbacks to it in the trigger mv as well. but what does it mean? im going to assume that it's the clone vrvrs kidnapping him, but why? where are they taking/leading him at the end of the mv (since the same figure with the sack over their head is shown walking down that big spiral staircase)?

according to vrvr anon, the vrvr mv timeline goes like O -> thunder -> tagx3 -> lay back -> get away -> trigger -> undercover. O is just showing og vrvr's lives and the struggles that trigger clone!vrvr appearing in the first place, thunder is kangmin getting kidnapped (?) and subsequently replaced by clone kangmin (unbeknownst to the rest of vrvr), tagx3 is where the clones (lead by clone km) start to screw with vrvr, and lay back is where the clone vrvr and og vrvr all meet. get away is next, in between lay back and trigger-- get away seems to be when the clone vrvr lure og vrvr into their little world for, uh, social experimentation and potential psychological torture purposes. og vrvr get a letter from clone vrvr pretending to be someone else (verrer? i think that's what it says on the letter), inviting them to a party and listing the necessary circumstances for how to get there (stand in a circle in the forest at night and a magic "alice in wonderland"-type hole will appear. yeah, sounds legit lol).

(small sidenote, vrvr anon and i have talked about how self-aware minchan is—being the first to see kangmin's clone and realize how serious shit is, running away from his clone instead of greeting it like the other vrvrs, not to mention very clearly having some shit of his own going on with the pills in O—so maybe thats why the clones kidnap him? he could be a risk to them, being able to figure out much faster than the others that the whole world they're in is fake, and they're just being played with.)

a lot of people seem to be getting suspicious of kangmin in this mv. of course, there's dongheon who literally backs him against the wall and puts a fork to his throat, but earlier in the mv yongseung also looks at kangmin kind of weirdly when he's drinking or eating or something--less severe than dongheon's reaction, more of a "something's going on with you but i dont have solid enough evidence to do anything about it" kind of thing. also, at 2:28, both dongheon AND yongseung are looking at km suspiciously, km looking back warily, as yongseung even holds out some sort of drink (?) to him.

the whole mv also has a VERY intense social experimentation feel to it. the tvs showing og vrvr at the banquet while clone vrvr watched, clone hoyoung stroking the cheek/jaw of his counterpart through the screen? the animalistic feel of the feast? i could see clone vrvr slipping something into the wine to make og vrvr go a little unhinged. all the weird shit only starts happening to og vrvr (with the thermal vision scenes and such) AFTER they drink the wine, after all. they start acting weird, tearing into the feast like theyre animals and not human beings, fighting each other, and so on—I imagine dongheon wouldnt have the guts to actually threaten and (try to) stab km (even if he was suspicious of him) if there wasn't something else in his system.

(sidenote: after re-watching im realizing that a weird fog starts to come into the room, which is probably what ACTUALLY drugs them and triggers all the weird/violent shit-- not the drinks)

there's also the scene where dongheon is kneeled over gyehyeon in the bathroom about to stab HIM, but he gets stopped by hoyoung, which is all sorts of ??? to me. is it just continued conflict from the dongheon-kangmin exchange and gyehyeon stopping them? idk man. idk

dongheon and gyehyeon actually fight a lot in the mv-- a conflict/rivalry between dongheon being suspicious of kangmin and gye wanting to protect him?

(and now into my more miscellaneous, much less organized thoughts)

i just went and actually read the letter over again and. well for one thing it does not say verrer, it says something else, either VRVR or VRtoR (???)-- so they werent pretending to be anyone else, they were pretty obvious actually. and the CONTENT of the letter is so obviously from the clones too... "we are confident that you will remember us, for we have always been with you, and each moment spent was full of delight and wonder" (brings to mind everything that happened in O), "merely imagining the glorious spectacle makes our blood tingle with excitement. we will be waiting for you", and also the fact that the lyrics being sung while the letter is on screen are 'crossing the line so dangerously'

the smoking boots? are they kangmin's? minchan's? and who's the guy that walks up next to them? is it og km (currently stuck with the clones) or someone else?

a lot of the lyrics also fit the being drugged/social experiment idea-- "even stuck in a dream, feeling so sweet" "out of control, im getting weak"

"running from me, running from you, im just a getaway" GOD. the theme is strong with this one. im particularly remembering minchan running from the clones in lay back, and also the whole theme of running from your bad/negative traits in general-- "running from ME" (bad aspects of self) "running from YOU" (bad aspects of self personified into a seperate entity to make them easier to detach from)

(this feels like a stretch, but maybe vrvr CREATED the clones accidentally by trying to run away from their flaws, thereby turning them into entirely different people so that they could justify fighting them rather than accepting them as parts of themselves)

"its already hell here" = vrvr's lives being difficult prior to the clones appearing

also i didnt notice this before, but while that lyric is being sung (timestamp 1:26), dongheon is actually holding/supporting kangmin like he's weak and cant stand on his own-- while also looking at him suspiciously like he doesn't entirely trust him (AND he looks down at his drink later like "idk whats in this i probably shouldnt drink it"--then gives it to kangmin?? and that's when yongseung looks at km weird like i mentioned earlier).

"follow your guts, it's dangerous" 👁👁

"tell me what you wanna do, play secretly" sung BY kangmin (👁👁👁)

throughout the entire feast after the fog (drug? idk) starts taking effect, that same orb that came and "delivered" the letter at the beginning of the mv is hovering around, watching them-- probably what clone vrvr is using to film og vrvr.

"hold up, you're provoking me obviously; get up, venom everywhere when concious."

"can't escape this get away, fantasy already covered my eyes" the party started out as a seemingly nice/cordial invitation, but it turned into something terrifying and now they can't get out (get away seems to be where the conflict with the clones REALLY starts).

Yongseung has just been owning these newer concepts. Noone does it quite like him. I feel like years from now he'll be established as the one with the charismatic stage persona and we'll look back on cute and quiet rookie yongseung and wonder when he became the devil incarnate

omg anon u read my mind?? i was having similar thoughts the other day! it may also already be happening? i think in one of their vlives dongheon said ‘well in our group when it comes to sexy, its yongseung’ and i was like hold the phone??? yongseung??? i dont know if it was just dongheon avoiding whatever prompt was given to them lmAo or if he actually meant it but i do agree i feel like over the span of 2020 he’s really been able to flourish into such a clear defined role in the group as opposed to 2019 where we were kind of still in a limbo almost like the company didnt know what to do with him. i remember being so shocked that despite being main dancer he was hidden in the back so much of the time for their choreos? but a lot of that has changed in this past year its so nice to see him develop and the fact that jelpi or whoever else is letting him have a much more dominant role in their songs and their concepts in general;; seeing verrers lose their mind over a one second yongseung closeup is like !!! amazing;;; he’s growing up so well im always so proud of him;; i feel like newer fans who would know little about the group would think of yongseung as a more charismatic dancer if they didnt know much about him!

First thoughts on VRVRs comeback MV Round: 0 'O'

The beginning when they circled around the car with the bikes somehow reminded me of the Trigger MV where they drove rounds in the car

Dongheon lying in the outline that usually marks victims of a crime scene definitely depicts the 'dead fealing' of a depressive person

Omg, heavenly Gyehyeons vocals are gracing us from the beginning of the song + the shoulder roll (GH biases like me are dead by now😍) and only are topped by Yongseungs rolls🤣

RnB genre in this sing and there's no rap! Very surprising and unique to have the rappers sing in a title track!

Yongseung and Kangmin's singing parts are getting bigger now

The adlib at the end of the chorus consists of 7 'Oh's if you listen carefully (=7 Vrvr members)

I know they are acting, but I somehow can't imagine Minchan and Hoyoung being the most laid back members having a fight haha (Lowkey looking forward to the making-of. I bet they laughed a lot acting this scene..)

All in all: A very laid back song that shows the best color of VrVrs vocals. It doesn't always need powerful choruses to deliver a message. I can imagine a lot of people sympathising with the lyrics a lot. For everyone watching: It is okay to be not ok sometimes, but it is important to get out of this vicious circle. If you can't gather enough energy for doing so, I wish you a certain person of trust or a group of friends pulling you out of this 'circulating washing machine of emotions' and showing you to 'dance in the rain' again
