Feeling some type of way about the Citizen's Armada again (as I do every time), but especially now after Horticulture Hell
FL goes out of its way to tell us, time and time again, that the people that are protecting the City are the people that live there. Not the rulers, not the agencies, not the people whose job it's supposed to be. The people doing this are people who said "I can do something" and then did
The Ragtag Flotilla card especially highlights that this is anyone who had a ship to put in the water and was willing to answer the call. No structure. No organization. Just hundreds of random vessels that said "I will do my part" and set out on a mission that could kill them
Idk how to end this, just my thoughts

on the topic of cherenverse and all the sharp things being kept in a locked cupboard: do u think cheren kurosawa Knows he’s partially the reason for the cupboard being locked. do you think he thinks that the other cherens might be scared of the possibility of him turning against them. do you think this only reinforces the fear that he’s inherently dangerous: a weapon; inherently unlovable: a witch. do you think a part of him is terrified of having his mind taken from him again. do you think his worst fear is being re-mindcontrolled and turning against a different set of people he cares about this time. do you think he doesn’t trust himself with anything sharp out of fear. do you think he doesn’t trust himself. because i think so

gaang film night headcanons:
- aang is the one who asks questions constantly until toph says something like, "the idea of a film is that you wait and information is revealed." he also mixes up all the characters like if there's more than 2 brunette men w big jaws (and there always is) he can't tell them apart. he likes really over the top silly action films like fast and furious, and he loves studio ghibli. he'll pretty much watch anything although he has to hide his face in a pillow during the really gory bits of horror films.
- toph sometimes has one earbud in to listen to audio descriptions but her favourite part is mocking the dialogue. she finds film dialogue so stilted and unrealistic (mood) and she also gets annoyed at characters making bad decisions. the one always yelling at the screen like "just TALK TO EACH OTHER!" hogs the popcorn. will sit through most films if she's allowed to make fun of them but doesn't like psychological thrillers because they rely so much on visuals. loves a musical though.
- katara also loves a musical but especially loves the classics; anything long and intense w a moral dilemma at the heart of it that she can dissect afterwards. soft spot for 90s teen films, particularly the ones which adapt shakespeare. the type to always go back to her favourite films for a rewatch instead of something new. cries at a knights tale every time. she's the one who coordinates the takeaway order (because of course that's always a mess).
- sokka has *artistic taste* (he likes to think) he watches stuff that wins oscars and critiques the cinematography. the one to get annoyed at aang and toph talking the whole time, and then end up talking himself because he's arguing with katara about the central theme and everyone's like shut up its literally the bratz movie. he also really loves stuff like the bratz movie although won't admit it. always spills something.
- suki also likes action films, and anything historical or political (not like pride and prejudice, like death of stalin). she's definitely seen all the classic 90s teen films and can quote them with katara word for word. the most easygoing about what film they watch although she loves putting on something scary and watching everyone wet themselves.
- zuko loves horror films but no one wants to watch them with him because he always says they don't scare him (he's usually telling the truth. not always). also gets annoyed at people talking through the film, and anyone getting up for the toilet, eating too loudly, or breathing anywhere near him. everyone humours him until it gets too annoying and they try to smother him with a blanket. sometimes they give him the seat by the snacks so he can hand them out and feel like he has something to do.
bonus: uncle iroh occasionally comes in to bring snacks and sometimes he'll get distracted and watch the film with them. he's even worse than aang for talking and asking questions and it makes zuko cringe so hard but everyone else thinks it's hilarious.

The single worst part about working with children is the safeguarding training because you know it's important to do the training, to be aware, but the content involved is so upsetting. Literally no one who works with children enjoys having to learn about the various types of child abuse or harm, and it's miserable when you have to keep doing the training multiple times because you work various jobs involving kids or because you move both from school to school and camp to camp.

workmate was telling me he wanted to buy the hp game, and tried justifying it like ‘i know jk rowling is a terrible person and she pushes for anti-trans laws, but my money would make no difference to a billionaire’
i was just thinking like, ‘babe, i actually agree with her, only thing u should justify is your lame game choices ❤️’

I changed my mind just straight off killing minato wasnt right but the fact that minato killed rin instead of trying to find *any* solutions rubs me in the wrong way. I dont know, they could let her live outside of village in some shelter, if seal activates by arriving to village. And while she is in it, try to find ways to deactivate it. Even if they never find a way to do so, she could like befriend isobu, or anything. Or just live a life outside of Konoha. With kakashi and obito, bc they will never leave her. Is it that bad? Konoha isnt essential to live a somewhat good life. Yet instead minato chooses to agree with his 13 yr student sacrificing her life for village. If i was kakashi i too would be angry as hell i think
*pitch black spoilers* Yeah, I agree it’s a very bad look from Minato and it makes sense that this would make Kakashi mad! But we also saw this through Kakashi’s PoV, so it’s possible that we missed some important info. We don’t know how long Minato and Rin were talking together. We don’t know how much they talked about different options. We don’t know how strong Rin’s seal driving her back to Konoha was. Minato said it “couldn’t be broken”, so maybe it was the sort of seal where if you break it it kills the person it’s sealed on (like extracting the Isobu would). And Rin could have made friends with Isobu but I doubt Minato would have seen that as a possibility; he wouldn’t have understood that the Bijuu could be friendly if you stop treating them like demons… So yeah, of course I don't think he should have made the decision to take her life, and it’s possible that Minato didn’t take the time to think things through, but he also might have tried and we just didn’t see it on screen. (In this answer my find-it-difficult-to-have-a-strong-opinion-unless-it’s-through-a-character’s-eyes is showing. :P).

me and my wife are incredibly right in the fact that p5 would have been a more impactful and interesting game simply if our guys were college/university age instead of high school age like not just bc the game has creepy moments but also because these are adult issues that would be more impactful if young adults who are already expected to be self-sufficient in most ways even if they weren't ready for it were going through them
