Hey Red! It's Tim's watch anon again! So, I think I've found it ahgairgairtgiart. I went down a hole and did a reverse image search on Google lmao. Prepare for some infodumping!

I really think it's either a Timex self-wind watch like this one https://cdn.watchcharts.com/listings/eb578671-c4fa-46e1-8d77-0ddfccfa4714.jpg or a Timex automatic watch like this one https://www.watchrepairtalk.com/uploads/monthly_2020_05/20200331_104721.jpg.f1f0b0e48234c80ce990c78230b6f557.jpg based on how the numbers alternate with the dashes. Apparently, the Timex watch was released in 1950. I'll bet Tim either treated himself to a new watch as a college graduation present in 1951/52 or it was gifted to him by his grandmother. Or his dad. (Unrelated, I really want to know about Tim's relationship with his dad.)

According to an article I found online (because I'm a fucking nerd), "the Timex watch would be the cheapest watch on the market, thanks to clever manufacturing practices and those wartime innovations". I really think this fits in with Tim's background because he wouldn't want some big, gaudy watch that looked good. He would want something that's practical and will last him a long time. (Also, the article says the Timex watch “takes a licking and keeps on ticking.” Is that not Tim?)

Which brings me to Hawk's watch! artgiartaoirtoart. Considering we saw it close up when he was practicing for the polygraph, it was an easy find. He had a Bulova military automatic watch https://www.ebay.com/itm/185976377415. Apparently, it wasn't the Most Expensive Brand™ but it supplied wristwatches as "official gear" to the American troops during World War 2. So. Specifically, it's called a "Hack" watch, which is a "reference to the hacking seconds function that permitted soldiers to synchronize their watches for coordinated timekeeping on missions." If that isn't Hawkins Fuller in a personal possession, I don't know what is.

Anyways, this was fun aortiotairotirot. I feel like I have a peace of mind knowing what their watches are? Lmao. I may need to go track down Tim's 70s watch. Watch this space.

So he's middle-of-the-road. He can eat some spicy foods, but not others, and this really was what it looked like, lmao—a bit of dickwaving that didn't pay off; the likelihood that he eavesdropped before he came in, like he did in the TV station corridor, is like 99%. He must have been so mad. But the thing is... spice tolerance is learned. It's something he can research, something he can train.

And he's a nerd. So in my head, as soon as he could breathe and think and like, walk, he imported 20 freaky American hot sauces on his phone and began regularly reenacting Hot Ones in the privacy (?) of his apartment. Because he is never going to fuck up like that again. He'll show that soon-to-be-dead ratfucker Joker and the Phantom Thieves and the fucking octopus that evolved into that takoyaki....

anyway for funsies, i did fill out the assessing your parent's emotional immaturity questionnaire for jack & janet (& dana!) because again, i don't feel they were. quite as bad as they're oft accused of. (also. i'm on the side that at least they were probably more emotionally mature than bruce lmao lmao)

(as always this is subjective and based on my intepretation of them)

-My parent often overreacted to relatively minor things

so to start, we have no proof of this for janet (& she doesn't get mad at Tim showing up randomly at a dig site in batman #134. she does get pissy with jack during rite of passage but that's also probably reactionary to jack being jack & being dismissive of her which he shows more than once in the interaction we do see, so no it is. jack is. arguably a yes here bc he does have a tendency to do nothing or take the nuclear option. dana's a pretty solid no)

-My parent didn't express much empathy or emotional awareness

we're going to go no for janet & dana (they both show empathy & emotional concern/awareness for how tim might be feeling in the interactions we see). jack is. hm. *arguably* a no. i think there's a definite argument for yes for him, but jack is generally shown as *aware* and concerned when his son is going through something & often worried about his son. the problem is he never learns from his moment fo clarity, not that they don't exist imo.

-when it came to emotional closeness & feelings, my parents seemed uncomfortable and didn't go there

definite no for janet & dana. very strong leaning towards "no" for jack. whenever there's a conflict they do end up skirting around the real issue between them (tim is robin), but every conflict is often followed up by an affirmation that jack loves his son & is proud of him (see: after tim runs away, the christmas dinner they have during the NML event, jack's dying words) so he might not say it often, but i don't get the impression he's super *uncomfortable* going there, it's just that he only sees the need to go there when there's a Good Reason.

-my parent was often irritated by individual differences or different points of view

gonna go with a hard no for all three of them. janet seems only supportive of tim's interests. dana too. jack is. well. for some reason people seem to picture him as a fire and brimstone evangelical conservative when the fact of the matter is that he's a financial conservative who just doesn't care enough about social issues over his financial concerns (lower taxes). he'll gladly donate to save the rainforest fundraisers because that seems like a good thing. he doesn't particularly care that tim is into computers and he's not? he's vaguely supportive of that & it doesn't seem to bother him tim is a nerd (don't @ me about him misunderstanding tim and taking him to sports games. i assure you. tim ALSO likes sports quite a bit). honestly if tim came home and declared himself a liberal, jack doesn't seem the type to get upset about it (because he would just chalk it up to tim being young--it would probably amuse him more than anything--"i was dumb in my youth too, son haha" sort of deal.). he has friendlyish banter with his wife about how boys are vs. girls are (they have different opinions on that) & takes her poking at his sexism in stride at the circus.

-when i was growing up, my parent used me as a confidant but wasn't a confident for me

hard no all three. we never see janet do this & tim feels comfortable confiding everything in her in batman 134. dana definitely doesn't. jack also doesn't use tim as a confidant *and* we see him explicitly be a confidant for tim least once (when tim is dealing with the gun at school, he decides it is a tim drake problem and goes to his dad for help *because* it is a tim drake problem. robin can't confide in jack, but tim can bring up school issues with his dad and expect he'll be listened to)

-my parent often said & did things without thinking about other people's feelings

debatable one. jack is arguably yes, as he has a tendency to think and make decisions without really considering tim's view. dana no. janet. ehhhh. we don't really have enough evidence to say either way. i lean towards no, because we see her have more concern about tim possibly feeling nervous at the circus && the very empathetic consideration of the drakes to dick in choosing to send him the final photo of his parents so they probably did think about other people with careful consideration & tim says they're the ones who taught him to care about people. however, janet was also complicit in sending tim to boarding school without thinking of whether he was happy (though jack implies janet wouldn't want him to be far apart from tim) & they didn't necessarily notice tim's ruminating on the death they witnessed (altough remember: they *also* have their own personal trauma surrounding this) so. they did do some things without considering their son first.

-i didn't get much attention or sympathy from my parent, except maybe when i was sick

ooooh hard controversial here & could go either way for all three of them! so, obviously the jack & janet going away for long periods of time definitely leans to yes for them as them not being there means tim didn't have their attention. however! hugely complicated by the fact that the times they were home they genuinely wanted to spend time with their son--taking him with them to the opera & art galleries & monstery truck shows, calling to talk to him whenever they arrived back and he was still in school, & they care about his grades and general wellbeing & think of him while they're gone. & jack often is shown care about tim outside of the big events whenever he's home. dana is also arguably yes--she does some nice things like remember tim's birthday & teach him how to make soup when asked but the far larger part of her character is that she's jack's girlfriend/wife & is very clearly *not* tim's mom--she & him both draw the line of she's his stepmom, not his parent--and so she also doesn't pay enough attention to tim & also doesn't think it's her job to intervene in parenting tim affairs to actually notice anything that's going on with him. as much as she likes tim, she is also perfectly happy to go on trips with jack & leave tim behind for holidays, & get engaged without talking to tim first, start secretly dating jack without talking to tim first, ignore jack's treatment of his son so she doean't really notice how hurt tim gets by him.

-my parent was inconsistent--sometimes wise, sometimes unreasonable

okay. hard yes for jack. 100% him in a nutshell. no for dana. we truly don't have enough evidence either way for janet, but leaning towards no as she's never shown to be unreasonable with tim.

-if i became upset, my parent either said something superficial and unhelpful or got angry and sarcastic

debatable yes for jack on the angry part, but i'm personally leaning towards no, actually. like jack gets angry with tim's perceived disprespect (ie/ the TV incident). but when tim gets mad at him, really mad at him, or is genuinely upset about something jack does at least attempt to be understanding and comforting. like, he was super afraid tim would be upset about dana & didn't try to diminish his feelings at all about that or expect he'd be okay with it or get mad if he wasn't (i mean. tim was fine with it. but.). surprisingly, a fairly solid yea from dana here because while i like her she's queen of the superficial and generally unhelpful kindness that doesn't usually actually fix things, just tries to smooth ruffled feathers. the easy way out. janet, we can guess a fairly solid no given she thinks about tim being upset first & getting him out of that upsetting scene asap above all else at the circus.

-conversations generally centered around my parent's interests

fairly solid no all around. we know that janet listened attentively to tim's story in batman 134. jack does sometimes prefer to talk about his intetest but he also does try to understand and talk to tim about computers & school so, you can't say that in general he only talks about what he cares about. he just sometimes talks about what he likes. like all people do. did you know that just as parents should listen to their kids about their interests, kids should do the same for their parents. it's the basic two way street of relationships. and a no for dana. she likes when tim talks to her about anything.

-even polite disagreement could make my parents very defensive

no for janet & dana. we have nothing to indicate that was the case with either of them. debatably yes for jack, he does tend to go on the defensive when tim is accusing him of bad parenting but he also almost always realizes he's in the wrong and ends up agreeing with tim (he just. never learns and grow. but he does have the capability of recognizing he's wrong sometimes and trying to make amends). also there's nothing that imo indicates he would upset at a polite disagreement (since his and tim's disagreements tend to get very heated on both sides). like if tim were like "i don't want to go here for dinner, i'd rather go here" he doesn't seem like he'd get all "oh, so my dinner choices aren't good enough i guess", he'd probably be normal about it. he's shown disagreeing with dana (& janet at the circus) & he's fairly normal about those times.

-it was deflating to tell my parents about my successes because it didn't seem to matter

super hard no, all three. they're all extremely proud of tim when he chooses to do the right thing. jack brags about tim to randos at bars. they're clearly the type to be very exuberant & effusive over tim doing well at something (i hate to even bring n52 jack & janet in here but they were very proud of his gymnastics achievements there.). think of how happy jack was when tim lied and said he joined footballm tim's successes matter to them.

-facts and logic were no match for my parent's opinions

leaning towards no, all three. dana and janet we don't know for sure, but there's nothing to indicate this was the case with either. jack. jack does have strong opinions but tim was also able to very easily convince him to move back to gotham during NML after tim ran away. dana is able to change his mind quite easily by talking to him. he's definitely my way or the highway but not near as unchangeable as people like to imagine.

-my parent wasn't self reflective and rarely looked at his or her own role in a problem

once again, no all three. janet and dana we have no proof of this (actually when janet was kidnapped she did seem to reflect on everything, so). jack. hm. this is definitely a more debatable no, but the problem with jack is that he's not allowed to grow in the narrative so he can keep conflicting with tim. but whenever they have a conflict he's constantly questioning his own role in it (tim runs away, finding out tim is robin). however war games + identity crisis show that he was finally able to mature enough to accept he was part of the problem so even if he did have some immaturity around this, this was on it's way to getting better. then he died. so we never got the chance to see if it would stick.

-my parent tended to be a black & white thinker, and unreceptive to new ideas

definitely a no for janet, per batman 134. also a no for dana, she tends to be a little more flexible. and even a no for jack? homeboy was rooting for the side of child heroes during sins of youth. he probably likes status quo as much as the next person, so i don't think he's near as inflexible as one would think.

so idk. like, do they all demonstrate some emotional immaturity? yea. a bit. jack's the highest for sure. he's definitely got at least a couple of these, maybe even as high as 5 or 6, depending on how shitty you interpret jack to be. also consider we only ever really see him after he's been through several highly traumatic events (which does not excuse by any means, but can help explain). dana & janet both demonstrate a couple each, but aren't necessarily huge offenders on the emotional immaturity checklist.

which. i guess with doing this it's like. i don't think their parenting needs to be pathologized or anything truly. they were just. not great parents at time. & i'm not diminishing the harm of the neglect on tim, i like talking about that too. but sometimes it seems that people want to diagnose them with like "oh, they didn't really want tim/kids after all, they hated responsibility, they were too immature, they didn't see him as a person, they couldn't handle parenting, they had these issues that meant they sucked, etc"

when realistically. they just probably made some tough choices trying to consider what would be better for their son (stability and good education of boarding school vs. traipsing all over the world with them while they fought constantly), which did end up giving him some trauma *despite* what was probably their best intentions. they can be doing their best & still cause hurt. they were probably very unprepared for the *entire family* to witness an incredibly traumatic event & the long-term issues that would cause for all of them. nobody wants their marriage to start failing & that adds another issue to try to manage within the family. parenting wasn't a skill they naturally excelled at. it doesn't need to be some huge thing. they're just humans. and they make mistakes. they don't act in ideal ways.

#i mean i'm sorry i genuinely don't get the pervasive idea that they didn't want kids when they're both #shown to be extremely happy he exists.#did they struggle with parenting tim yes. but that doesn't mean they didn't want him.#anyways dana got counted in this too bc while i love her #she's not the perfect unproblematic best parent ever tim had #she also got to suck a bit in her own unique ways #and hell. half the times she doesn't count for these is because she definitely saw tim as jack's son not her own.#did she like him? immensely. was she his mom? no they mutually agreed on that #she was his step mom who came into his life when he was a teen & happy with that.#and happy to defer to jack as tim's parent

i'm super late to the astv discussions, but i wanted to add that peter ramsey was only directly involved in itsv as one of the directors. he's only the exec producer for astv and btsv which is just a fancy title and the writers for astv and btsv wrote for the voltron series, so like it's NOT looking good lmao. peter ramsey is a black man and he GETS it and he honestly was the key itsv was and still is so good!

it also explains why astv doesn't have the same beats as the first one and feels less cohesive and more disjointed. i think the writers and current directors do not have the nuance to write miles' (and the other spideys of color) properly. gwen getting the first what 20 minutes of the film and probably more character development than miles in his OWN story is proof of that. and honestly gwennie deserves her own post bc i got feelings about that girl and why she and peter b. are perfect examples of how yt (and non-black) fandom as a whole continually center yt characters to propel their narratives while characters of color are either sidelined, mistreated, one-note, or susceptible to racist stereotypes

also, i think one of the directors stated that he openly hated miguel and used him in the film as a means to make fun of him and like miguel in the comics is white passing (half mexican / half irish), so saying this about a now visibly latino man I C K.

this series should've been peter ramsey's project and have up and coming black directors / directors of color really bring a new breath to further the spiderverse franchise. i keep thinking about how much work and love jordan peele, boots riley, nikyatu jusu, RYAN COOGLER, etc have put into their works. i'm not saying that yt writers / directors shouldn't make stories about characters of color, but they need to put in the work and make it a collaboration with the ppl who are these characters.

like i'm just tired bc black nerds / fans can never have true escapism in media and when we do it's barely supported and regaled as it should be. i love miles, like that's my boy fr! spider powers are so cool so seeing characters that look like me have them was supposed to be something i can truly get lost in, but honestly can't :/

i feel similar about wakanda forever and wakanda being in the mcu, but that's a different issue since ryan and his team still committed to making something i can still at the very least enjoy.

Something definitely changed in the writers’ room here, because this movie’s message went into a whole other direction(s) from where we left off of ITSV

Miles and Gwen’s relationship in the first movie was at best a mild one-sided attraction. So how’d we get from that to now all of a sudden they are constantly in each other’s minds? They had to stretch this belief that Miles and Gwen’s relationship was so unique and important that we ignore everyone else crucial to Miles’ character.

I get Ganke is practically MCU’s Peter’s best friend, but they could’ve involved him more. All this talk of how Miles feels alone, when the guy he told his secret to(to ease that load) is right there

It doesn’t help Voltron writers were also involved in the project, and from the looks of it a significant portion of the story

Also wtf is with the Miguel bit I never heard of that. I wouldn’t be surprised, but I’m curious where thwt information came from

YALL WTF i watched a movie ab alan turing yesterday and it made me sad asf like poor guy and poor will having to research all that im jst imagining him being like "guess what this happens to ppl like me☹"

BUT ON THE BRIGHT SIDE:: they show alan and his bff christopher that alan ws also in love with (but christopher then died :() and they ALWAYS TALK IN CODE like sent eachother letters in code (and alan was WORKING W CODES bc that was like his job (nerd))

so this got me thinking... what if wills alan turing poster that hes carrying around in ep 1 couldnt find pics sorry😭😭 ISNT (just) A HINT TO HIM BEING GAY (bc we would know that even without the poster imo) but ALSO a hint to him and his love interest (MIKE) talking IN CODE... when they say goodbye in that s3 scene ("what if u join another party" what if u replace me) or like some of yall say when theyre talking ab "el" theyre actually kinda using her name as a stand-in (when mikes talking to will about his and els issues; that could be him talking ab will too), esp in wills van monologue but in other scenes too... this is actually the same anon who sent in the ask about music after your thoughts on aemond made me obsessed with him (should I have a sign-off? Re: his favorite food .OH, omg. I hadn't been asked this before! this is a tough one! For one, I think he'd definitely have a taste for very refined things and this extends to food Canon!Aemond would enjoy meals rich in protein because of how hard he trains, and he likes his meats very buttery and juicy, with his bread soft and well seasoned, crispy on the edges. He'd be a lover of good wine. Vegetables rich in flavor. And I'm loving the image of him taking to pastries (in secret!). Maybe we can base it on Mr. Ewan - I take my coffee with 7 sugars - Mitchell lol!

Modern!Aemond would be the type to go to very high-end, expensive restaurants and tries all the food trends that all the famous cheffs are experimenting with. In terms of his favorite cuisine, his favorite might be french food? For comfort food, he's giving me the type to enjoy a really nice tomato soup with cheesy, fluffy bread on the side. Or a very indulgent, super creamy and flavorful plate of pasta. Something he can eat on the couch while watching his favorite films. For comfort, other type of cuisine that I feel he might love is Greek. Give him a plate of Spanakopita's with all the freaking cheese, and Gyros that are just super fillled, and he'll be happy. Guhhhhhh I'm salivating just thinking about food. And also, I just HAVE to bring this up, but @dumpsterfirecee and I aren't from the U.S. so we have this running hc of introducing Aemond to our traditional foods that are naturally spicy. And because he wants to be a good boyfriend, he tries it all, but in the end he's a white boy who can't deal with spice and is suffering inside 🤣 (please look at the hilarious art Cee made). In the end though, I think he'd develop a taste for it lol!

re: his long hair. I think the consensus is because he's proud of his Targaryen heritage. Don't quote me on this but I think Tom Glynn-Carney (who plays his brother, Aegon) said that they kept Aegon's hair shorter than Aemond's because of his reluctance to rule and him wanting to separate himself from what his family has imposed on him. Unlike Aemond, who desperately wants it, who is proud of his lineage and wears the emblems of his house with pride.

lillian’s her best friend slash partner in crime slash platonic soulmate. she’s the believer to bianca’s skeptic, but she would actually kill a man to see a ghost. uh, no pun intended. she’s witty and sarcastic, but really does love her friends, even if she doesn’t show it. on top of being the number one ghost stan, she’s also the head of the newspaper club, and she’s always on the lookout for a scoop, so this is the perfect opportunity for her. she’s trans and a lesbian!!

taylor’s the other part of this detective trio but not the third friend of one thank you very much. he’s a believer, too, but more in the way that he thinks a ghost could kill him, so he’s terrified of them. he has issues with emotion, and he argues with lillian a lot, but he really is a sweetheart. when his crush makes a dare to go down to the supposedly-haunted boiler room and never returns, he pushes aside his paranormal fears and cracks down on the case. he’s trans + bi!

elijah’s a soccer star and one of the only decent popular kids… and also taylor’s crush. he’s a closet theatre nerd, too, but despite the rumors the theatre is haunted he’s a skeptic. not that that stops him from pretending to be a believer - which ends up being the thing that throws the entire school into chaos, anyway, since he’s impulsive and bold enough to risk a bet to go into the haunted boiler room, but never ends up returning. fucking loser (i love him). he’s gay!

dani’s the president of the environmental club and dear god just needs a break. she’s caring, the single braincell of the group, and nearly always tired from the ongoing shenanigans, but also always ready to lend a hand. she’s not exactly a believer, though not exactly a skeptic, either, believing that there’s no real proof either way, and she doesn’t exactly have time to think about ghosts, anyway. she’s an aroace icon!!

sam’s the school’s resident cryptid. it’s not that he isn’t there, he just lurks in the back, showing up places he probably shouldn’t be, and somehow always seems to know things. things he… shouldn’t know, really. no one knows how he does. he has a dry sense of humor - and speaking in general, really - that scares people off until you get to know him better. he’s bi!

hailey’s… not in any of these quotes and honestly not overall super important to the story (as of now), but she’s the girl’s swim team captain and student council vice president and definitely has her apples in way too many baskets. she’s a literal ray of sunshine, the absolute sweetest person you’ll ever meet, and the holder of the biggest case of comphet this world has ever seen. she’s a lesbian, if that isn’t clear enough.

☠️Poison Type☠️ ~ When one of us is sick, how do we take care of the other?:

I mainly just try to make sure Sasha lays the hell down and relaxes, lol. Get him some meds if he needs, and at ANY sign that his head is being affected, I do whatever I can to make it go away. Like, headaches and stuff suck as is, but that stuff gets SO MUCH WORSE when your brain is essentially your weapon. Trust me, I know- Sometimes classical music helps him sleep, so I’ll play some of that until we both pass out.

I suppose I don’t do much differently than she does. I’m much too busy to keep an eye on her 24/7, but I still try to check on her to make sure she’s staying at home to rest. She has a tendency to work even while she’s sick, and though I don’t pressure her to stop her efforts (or else I’d be a hypocrite), I try to gently remind her that she needs the rest.

after @ponyboyatreides gave me permission to respond to the “five of your own fic recommendations” game on their blog with a few of my original vignettes, i decided i would ... especially considering the people reading this blog pretty much already know me lmao. so, like, here are five vignettes i’m especially proud of from this blog, in no particular order:

1. give him a great big kiss: this one is so good to me. it’s these two very close and very thoughtful girls having what i think is a mature (and age appropriate!) conversation about sex and sexuality. like, i think they really sound as young (and as old) as they are here. they’re very much in this awkward in-between phase, lucy’s marriage and baby aside, which i love. i’d been looking forward to writing this one for a long time, and i’m really happy with the way it turned out.

2. fear: i think this one best encapsulates the parallels between sadie and will that i didn’t realize i was going to have. it’s the first one i wrote after realizing they have parallels (i don’t count the one where lucy is trying on the red dress at the mall, since i deciphered the parallel in the middle of writing it). i just think these two get each other on such a real, familial level. they’re both so interested in helping other people that they fear they don’t know themselves or that they’ll never be enough for the world. they understand each other in a way that their significant others can only try to imagine. i’m so glad they have such a real friendship in this universe.

3. the boy i’m gonna marry: this is when will started to become will, you know? like, before he felt like an existing character with a funny coat of paint. but here ... here, will started to have his own voice. he’s not a cool guy. he’s not tough. like, he can be, but in his heart of hearts, will o’connor is a nerd, desperately in love with his wife. and she loves him so much.

4. things you said on the phone at 4am: for whatever reason, i’m usually quite pleased with steph scenes. she’s such a fun yet very tragic figure ... she’s been through so much (losing sam in so many ways, sleeping with charlie, dealing with the guilt she feels about daniel, having strange regrets about never seeking out her father). but this vignette really, really gets to me. it’s proof that sam and steph were probably going to find their way back to each other -- for good -- if he hadn’t been killed. they were always finding each other, anyway.

5. caravaggio: daniel is such a good character, actually. he’s a lot like steph, actually, which is probably why he’s so drawn to her at a young age. there’s so much going on under his very cool, nonplussed surface. he’s filled to the brim with turmoil and uncertainly and this need to be loved. he’s also very smart, which people tend to skip over because he’s not as vocal about it as lucy, sadie, or even will (even though will misspells common words at an alarming rate). but daniel is smart, too. this vignette is really good proof of that.

I feel bad for parents with demonic children cause you can tell some of them are trying yet the kids are just evil... but many just don't give a fuck CAUSE THEY'RE KIDS LET THEM HAVE FUN, well Melissa your kid is throwing M&Ms at everyone...yeah that happened actually, one kid hit my glasses and I almost unleashed hell. Ok so first of all, I was inclined to say that Ross' list about rachel fell more into the "thinking she's kinda vapid" category than in the "bad person" category but I didn't remember the scene so I gave candy the benefit of the doubt and checked the scene on youtube and lol the bad things he says about her are: ditzy, too into her looks, spoiled and "just a waitress" lmao he doesn't even call her selfish, self centred, snob, or whatever other combination that would be more alligned with being a "bad person". The things he calls her have more to do with him thinking she's "below" him intellectually and financially, not with her being "bad". And that perception of her by him makes sense for their specific dynamic, because they're supposed to be the "opposites attract" kind of ship, the polular girl and the nerd. They're supposed to have an antagonistic dynamic, they're not "supposed" to like each other. I'm sure if rachel were to do a list about ross she would call him a loser like she did many times in the show. This is not a "tobin" thing, this is a characteristic particular to thig type of dynamic. Not all tobins have this dynamic.

But even if he did call her selfish, would that erase the good things he says about her during the run of the show too? Why do the bad things have more weight and are the Real indicative of how he sees her? The same goes for the angelus comment. Even ignoring the fact that he was trying to get on her nerves, even if we believe angel with a soul does see buffy as self absorbed (lol), how does that erase all the good things angel said about her? Does candy know that we, humans, can see flaws in the perople we love without thinking they're bad people? LOL

— before they know the next avatar is korra, zuko hopes and prays the next avatar is a swamp bender, because he knows if they’re from the north water tribe it’ll be a whole thing and if they’re from the south he’ll literally never stop hearing about it

— in the beginning, zuko has no qualms about courting sokka. he’s the son of an ally country’s leader like yeah classic political marriage like what’s the issue (other than his own stifling awkwardness of course.)

— — sokka has the brain cell so he’s probably hesitant to jump into a relationship. they’re both public figures and gay marriage was just decriminalized— zukos already a contentious leader. not to mention, sokka has dated royalty before and the devotion to duty only lead to heartbreak.

— not really a zukka head canon but when zuko first starts sleeping with the group at the air temple, he looks over and sees aang just levitating a few inches off the ground and is like “what the fuck” sokkas like “oh yeah that’s how he sleeps you get used to it”

— when katara finds out sokka helped toph have suyin, she’s like “it’s so touching that you want our families to be forever intertwined and for our children to always be connected!” and tophs like uh totally yeah

— — nobody tells her the interaction went “sokka be the father it’ll be funny” and sokka said let me ask my husband and zukos went “lmao do it it’ll be so funny”

— izumi ice dodges when she comes to age and crushes it, which makes hakoda and sokka both cry.
