The urge to write an S1 au where Steve is pursuing Barb instead of Nancy and Barb is like this fuckin guy but is, admittedly, charmed by his goofiness he only seems to show when they're alone or with just Nancy and/or Tommy/Carol. And she does like him, quite a bit. She plays it coy but Nancy is there giving her side eyes like girrrllll you just made out with school heartthrob, little bit of a slut, Steve Harrington? He's giving you dopey smiles in the hall?? Was that a flirty little finger wave I saw? And Barb is going shut up Nancy it's not like me to go around making out with boys or whatever he's just cute and kind okay he's bitchy too tho it's fun to flirt I guess and Nancy is like you are also bitchy? They sleep together and it's nice and she even got him to help her take her bra off while she felt him up under his shirt and she's pretty proud of how smooth she was. But she does have to go home, so she nudges him awake and he kisses her again and she tells him she's heading home but is also stealing his sweatshirt. He gives her a lazy smile and asks if he's picking her up for school tomorrow and she's like nu uh I'll see you AT school bucko. And he gives her a little pout but says goodnight and she starts walking the few blocks to her car.

She never makes it.

The next day at school Nancy is like Steve. Where is Barb. And he's like Nancy. Where is Barb. And both go ???? WHERE IS BARB!!

Cue them both kinda freaking out, and then finding out Jonathan took pictures of the backyard and had at some point looped around and taken a picture of Barb fiddling with her Keys with Something in the background. Steve still smashed his camera because what the fuck Jonathan, the picture he took was like. Ten seconds before her bra came off? But now they're all stuck together because they've gotta find Barb and Will.

Idk what else I just think Steve/Barb is an under used ship but it's cute.

Little Marc character development thing

He never wanted to let Layla know about his disorder and even after she knows he still feels shame about it. Throughout the episodes he still tries to hide from her how it works/what it really looks like.

In episode 3 some people asked why Layla didn't stay with him when they were inspecting Senfu's sarcophagus. It's because he didn't want her to see him talk to Steven.

Same for the end of the episode. Why did he take off the sideview mirror to go further away with it? Because he didn't want Layla to see them switch.

And then we get to episode 6. Marc has accepted his disorder and has no problem letting Steven front, switching right in front of Layla

Sleepy 1:30 am OC ramble tiiiiiiime

I've got a group of super powered teenagers because I wanted to explore the dynamics of baby superhero teams and what happens when the former teen heroes grow up and realize there's a new generation of loud spunky twerps who want to help

And I set them up about 20-25 in-story years ahead of what I think of as the present in comics (my baseline is... 20-30ish irl years ago bc I'm still playing catch-up here) because I felt like that would put them far enough ahead to not mess with the timeline, but also not so far ahead that they interrupted canon. Nice little window of ambiguity

Anyway, the three of them I can talk about without a lot of context:

🛡️🟥 [???] | Liora of Kandor - A young girl who spent sixteenish years living in the infamous Bottled City. As part of the Labor Guild, she had a clear window into the city's infrastructure and resource management. She knows they can't live in the bottle forever, and the longer they try to stay and wait for Kal to find a solution, the more strain will be placed on the city and the people. They're already losing biodiversity. Unrest is growing. Something has to be done, or they won't last another two generations. So, after getting kicked out by her father and a protest-turned-riot, Liora leaves the bottle. She vows she won't return until she's found a solution.

🟦🤸 Madcap | Blythe [???] - Blythe is the daughter of supervillains, though I haven't settled on who yet. But part of the deal for their pardon was that they live ordinary civilian lives. Blythe -- genius, engineering prodigy, talented acrobat, sweetheart with more empathy than sense -- decided there was a loophole. She did not exist at the time of this deal, and she had sworn no such oaths. Therefore she was able to do what her parents could not, and decided to start making amends for her family's more criminal actions. She's not ashamed of her family by any means, but she has to keep these two parts of her life separate, or they all go to jail.

🟩⚡ Trent [???] | Kickstart - Three years ago, he was a normal teenage boy who chased after his baby sister, Audra, when the little girl tried to run off. As soon as they were out of their parents sight, unfortunately, both children were kidnapped. They were subjected to experiments that Trent couldn't understand, even if he hadn't spent most of those three years in an anesthetic haze. But the experiments gave both of them abilities beyond human capabilities -- Trent became a speedster, and Audra unlocked phenomenal aerokinetic abilities. When Trent was finally awake, his advanced metabolism burning through the anesthesia... There wasn't much left of the lab when the storm was finally over. He grabbed Audra and the two found their way home -- only to discover their parents had moved away in the time they were gone. Now Trent doesn't really know what to do -- he's got no money, nowhere to go, and a little sister to take care of. Also they have superpowers. And he's seventeen.

I think the reason Sean's reveal as shiney just doesn't work for me is because Sean is completely forgotten about as a character after pv trip, so when he was revealed to be shiney it just didn't hit as hard cause most people have honestly forgotten about him by that point

jessis (dh00) reveal worked because he was constantly in the series up until that point, to the point I honestly thought he was gonna be another main character

and then there's Jessa (emh) who despite disappearing pretty early on is still a memorable character due to the way she haunts the narrative for the entirety of that arc

idk I just feel like Sean's betrayal could of hit a lot harder if the audience felt it as much as Lee
