My Perspective

The first time I heard about perspective was when I was in 9th standard and my teacher told us to draw a perspective drawing. There are only few things which I remember from my past (definitely related to studies , haha). And one of them was this incident.

I was there in the school right at 7:00 am . Joined the morning assembly, did prayer and then back to the class. The day started as usual , and there came our drawing teacher, Mr. Paul . He was an old man with no moustache and greyish black hairs having a dream different from others. He was jolly kind of a man. Favourite of every student .That fine day, he came inside the class and we greeted him good morning. He said,” Let’s learn how to draw perspective drawing.” I was loved the word perspective but I loved the piece of art he taught us. I can still see him drawing a footpath with street lamps in front of my eyes. That day was not as usual anymore . As soon as he finished his drawing he starting sweating. He was so much sweating that from the last bench running down of sweat through his blue shirt was visible clearly. The day was a hot summer day too. So we didn’t find anything unusual. Soon he began to breath in and out fast. One of my classmate ran towards him to ask him about his health and what we all saw was very frightening. He was unable to stand anymore , he collapsed on the floor. Immediately our teachers were informed and he was rushed to the hospital. Our teachers then again started to take the other periods. After about two more classes. There came an announcement and I swear I won’t be able to forget the announcement. Our vice- principal sadly announced that our beloved teacher was no more. Every student in the school was shocked and deeply saddened about it. Tears came rolling down continuously.

While he was teaching us to draw he said a line which created a deep impact on me. The line was,” A perspective can change a drop to an ocean , we just need to find the right way.”

He was losing his life, fighting for it. But didn’t forget to give us a new learning.
