Let's talk about Sakamoto Days...

After the trauma and anxiety the JJK manga gave me for the past two weeks, I decided to indulge myself in something new... Just finished reading chapter 136 of Sakamoto Days manga and now I'm finally caught up with it.

And man, this manga's so fucking amazing!! 🤩🤩🤩

There's no dull moment in this series 😆, the comedy is on point 😂, and the action is peak in every single chapter 👌👍️!!

In other words, everything in Sakamoto Days is just pure RAW.

Talking about favorite characters - Sakamoto and his wife and daughter, Shin, Lu, Heisuke, all the Order members (except for Kanaguri, that filmmaker guy, cause he's fucking annoying), Satoda sensei, Byodo, Akira, Amane, and the Seba brothers (Natsuki and Mafuyu) are those characters that I really enjoyed and care about them.

The grannies and grandpas in this series are no joke, for real, like that one time when a mob of grannies beat the shit out of Sakamoto at the shopping mall, oh god!!

The most robust character in this series - good ol' Takamura - yeah, he's also an old dude working for the Order. And the fact that the old man just fights half-asleep with a simple katana, slicing buildings, cars, bridges, and towers in half?!?! Crazy!!

But, among all of these crazy ass characters, there needs to be a "BAE" character, no??? And that "BAE" character for me is none other than - NAGUMO. 💘💖💕

Like, y'all, I just can't express how much I love this man!! 😍

He's goofy AF with that smiley look he always has on his face... So unserious!! 😂😂😂

The duality of this man though...😳😳😳

His fight with Minimalist is so fucking RAW, y'all!! Like here he's goofing around and teasing that big dude... and the next thing you know...

I've loved Uzuki since I first played TWEWY as a teenager on my tiny light pink Nintendo DS. I never had the skills to make her outfit though, so when I got adult job money, I commissioned my friend Harv Cosplay to make the bodysuit dress and waist cincher for me! The wings were made myself with craft foam and wire and I'm super proud of them :') My wig is from either bezosmart or ebay and I styled it myself.

When NEO: TWEWY came out, I was so excited to see she had normal clothes 😂 I just got a blazer, corset and the neon laces on bezosmart, and cut the blazer in the back to shove my wings into the corset.

CAREER: The most fearsome enemy who stops at nothing to purge assassins. He goes by the alias Slur (X). Together with his group of skilled assassins, his goal is to overthrow the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA). Most of Slur’s abilities and background are shrouded in mystery. His hobby seems to be reading.

Slur seems to be a leader with unifying power.

In just a span of few months, he has reduced the number of professional assassins to about a quarter (of what they used to be). The recentmost incident being the attack on JAA Tokyo Branch, which he carried out together with Gaku and Uda. Slur will always leave an X at the scene of the crime. Apparently, he has many supporters all over the country, who treat him like a religious figure that will bring about change to the assassin world that is presently dominated by the JAA.

→ RELATED TO SAKAMOTO AND NAGUMO…?

Judging from how he talks to Sakamoto, as if they’re old acquaintances, and the way Nagumo speaks and behaves (when talking about Slur), it can be surmised that Slur was indeed the duo’s acquaintance from their JCC school days, under the name Uzuki. It also seems that Sakamoto and Slur had a special connection in the past…?!

TL Note: the word used for “special connection” is 因縁 (in'nen), and as per what I researched, this is explained as “dependent causation.” It basically dictates a person’s encounters and relationships with friends, lovers and the people around them. Plus, everything in this world comes into existence in response to causes and conditions. Nothing exists independent of other things, or could arise in isolation. So in a way I think Suzuki-sensei is saying that Slur’s existence is a result of Sakamoto [his actions and/or interactions with Uzuki in the past]. The term also broadly defines the binding force that links two persons together, or in other words these two are connected by fate.
