Victor Noir's grave in Père - Lachaise cemetery by Patrick Magaud, 1984.

Noir is perhaps more famous for his death and grave than work.

He was a journalist who was shot dead; the grave consists of a full-sized bronze statue of the man laying down as if he was just shot.

The statue became a fertility symbol - the story says those who kiss the statue on the lips, leave a flower in Victor's hat and rub the genital area will find themselves with enhanced fertility, a great sex life or find a husband within one year. The lips and trousers' bulge on the grave are noticeably shiny from people kissing and rubbing them.

SMASH CUT TO: DICK HAVING PLAYED 60 HOURS OF A RACING GAME IN THE CIRCUS I cannot express how hard I lost my shit at this, because they are currently in the middle of trying to outrun an actual firestorm being rained down on them by Firefly, Dick just broke his promise to save himself if things went down, he dragged his 280lb mentor into the Batmobile and probably barely reaches the pedals because he's still like eleven years old and Batman is FULL FORCE YELLING AT HIM for disobeying direct orders and this CHAOS GREMLIN CHILD HAS THE ABSOLUTE NERVES OF STEEL TO SAY RIGHT TO BATMAN'S FACE "Relax, I've got sixty hours in the simulator!" when he knows Batman knows Batman doesn't have a simulator and HE MEANT THAT HE'D PLAYED A BUNCH OF RACING GAMES. Let's be real, Bruce didn't put that kid on a dangerous path, Bruce put a fucking leash on that kid so he was maybe 5% less dangerous and likely to get himself killed and HE WORKED A MIRACLE TO GET THIS FAR.

Ghost legends in England: The "Grey Lady" of Weltham Manor has been sighted for six centuries. She's a lady wearing grey. Though Weltham Manor burnt down in 1904, she haunts the ruins, and is said to wail over her fate.

Ghost legends in Japan: The "Nails-Hand Lady" haunts schools in Japan. If you are in a bathroom and hear nails running along the other stall - stay still. The Nails-Hand Lady is coming for you. If you tell her she's beautiful, she'll make you a Nails Hand Lady. If you say she's ugly, she'll kill you, with her nails in her hands. If you say you think all women are beautiful, she'll thank you for respecting women, before killing you, with her nails in her hands.

Ghost legends in America: The old bar in Icetown, Michigan gets cold sometimes, even when it's only -13F outside. This is theorized to be the previous owner, or perhaps the tragic victims of the incident in the early 1900s where the bar exploded and killed like fifty people, whose fates were not reported in any newspaper. Sometimes they lament their fate by tossing over ashtrays
