#UWSA1
Text
40 minutes left of UWSA1. I heard it went poorly for many people (thank God for Reddit), which is the only thing keeping me sane right now. The first block was awful, and the other 2 were only slightly better.
Kind of scared to see the score, but also excited. Hopefully things will only get better from here.
Side note: why is Starbucks so freezing cold?! How can that guy be in shorts, when I'm sitting here in long socks, jeans, and a fuzzy jacket zipped up to my nose?

Today is the 26th? OK, that means I have 16 days to study including today (6 days in May + 10 days in June so I can take 6/11 off completely). Today is gonna be stressful cuz I'm so busy!!! I knew I wouldn't get much UWorld done but my blocks yesterday weren't spectacular, plus I have my second practice exam (UWSA1) coming up on Saturday. I just feel so much pressure to finish UW but I'm missing so many days of UW questions. Like I said in an earlier post I'm already 200 questions behind, and if I do no questions today that'll bump up to 360. And every day I take off, even if it's just once per week, is another 160 questions I didn't do. Why did I decide taking Step so early in June was a good idea???
Oh right, cuz I'm tired AF and want to get it over with.
I have my first pole dancing class (like REAL class) today at 11. I even get starter heels!!!!! So far I've done a trial class and a more "fitnessy" type class at the place. After that I'm gonna come home and clean up real quick and then I'm meeting a friend who just moved to town for lunch. And then tonight I have a meeting for the free clinic. In the meantime I have to juggle studying and doing edits for my manuscript in preparation for a meeting on Friday, and it needs INTENSE editing lol.
Today I've studied for an hr so far and it's the earliest I've woken up and started, so there's that. 8:30 ain't too bad considering I've been sleeping in so much since M3 ended. I've reviewed 1/4 blocks from yesterday, done some Anki incorrects, and also did a few UW questions on tutor mode. I'm going to TRY MY BEST to do 2 blocks today, but reviewing yesterday's is sooooooooo draining lol.
16 days. That's only like two weeks. And then I'm DONE. So close.

Step 2 CK Studying
As always, here is a disclaimer: I took Step 2 CK before the news about Step 1 being pass/fail came out. This means that the landscape may change and that the curve will shift (and probably become harder, unfortunately). And once again, this is just my personal strategy - please take this advice with a grain of salt!
The one (yes, one) resource I used: UWorld and its self assessments (UWSA1 and 2). Again, my tip with UWorld is to really, really read the answers, even the wrong ones, through and understand them.
Time spent: 1 month, with each Friday afternoon off. I just divided the total amount of questions in UWorld by the total amount of days I had to study (~26 days) and went to town. For my Friday mornings, I would take self-assessments aka the mock Step 2 CK exams.
I made a “guide/encyclopedia” of sorts to Step 2 based on the UWorld answers: https://drive.google.com/file/d/19TInieAHHhzQBiu8kKYVC2CHjvecmdGF/view?usp=sharing
This is not to be read straight through! It would be way too confusing and it is not organized well. The way I would use this document is to use the control-find option on topics that you realize that you way be weak at or need a quick refresher on. For example, say you are getting confused by pulmonary embolisms (PE), I would search for that term in the document and skim the notes.
It is basically a consolidation of all the information in UWorld on a certain topic in one place.
As always, feel free to ask me anything :)

Right now, my pre-dedicated/dedicated plan is...
To finish UWorld a month before dedicated, making anki cards for all of my incorrects. Currently planning on running it on timed tutor, so that I’ll have the benefit of learning from the explanations while still simulating test conditions. Hoping that Zanki, BnB, Pathoma, Sketchy, Goljan, Rx, and Kaplan will put me in good stead to get at least 80% on my one and only pass of UWorld.
During dedicated, I’m just going to be banging practice tests. I’ll start with UWSA1 to get a baseline, then it’ll be straight NBMEs until the last week or so. The last week, it’ll be the Free 120 and UWSA2 . Apparently, the UWSAs are the most predictive.
When I’m not doing UWorld/practice tests, I’ll be keeping up with my Zanki (and UWorld incorrects) reviews and hammering any weaknesses that come up from the tests.
We’ll see if my plan changes two years from now, which I’m pretty sure it will, at least a little bit, lol.

Step 2 CK
Step 1: 242
3rd year shelf exams: average of 85% raw
UW first pass: 70% correct
UW second pass (only completed like 70%): 76% correct
Goal CK score: 255 initially, but 260 after UWSA1
UWSA1: 259
UWSA2: 249 - I had a huge headache during this one and I made careless mistakes looking back on what I missed because I was so ready to just be done with it
Step 2 CK: 259, 17 points up from my Step 1
Resources used for CK: UW, FA for CK, some OME especially for OBGYN, no NBMEs used for CK, sketchypharm for psych/neuro drugs
Worst subject: psychiatry, I wish I had time to reread the FA for psychiatry book
Best subject: OBGYN because I spent a lot of extra time on it because I hate it with a passion
If I could go back: actually complete the second pass of UW which I told myself I would do because I didn’t complete the second pass of UW for step 1, read the FA for psych book
