poster states: "in Gaza, women are using tent scraps and spare piece of clothing as period products. 50,000 women are pregnant. miscarriages have skyrocketed 300%. pregnant women are undergoing C-sections without anesthesia. israeli forces have killed over 25,000 Palestinians, 70% of them women and children."
there is only one organization we know of that is able to support Palestinian people who need proper period care, and that alone is not enough. i made this post a while ago to support Sudanese and Palestinian people who need this care, and later made a post about contacting several organizations to demand accessible period care in Gaza, so for folks who are able to share and support again, here they are:
it is beyond horrendous that the rampant and disportionate amount of violence enacted upon women and children in Palestine remains silent among major organizations that claim to care for the health, safety, and welfare of all.

It is not that condemnations of gender-based violence by Hamas have been weak or insufficient – there have been none at all. Statement after statement by organizations like UN Women, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) have failed to condemn these crimes. They failed us, and all women, at this critical moment.
As a woman and a mother, my heart goes out to women and children in Gaza suffering the consequences of the war started by Hamas. I believe they deserve aid and support. But this does not mean the erasure of the atrocities committed by Palestinian terrorists on October 7. The silence of international human rights organizations, and the unwillingness to believe Israeli women in the face of overwhelming evidence has been devastating.
For the Israelis who have always been on the forefront of the fight for women's rights worldwide, this was a moment of crushing disappointment. A disappointment shared with me by one of our most prominent women's rights advocates, Prof. Ruth Halperin-Kaddari, a former CEDAW vice-chair.
"I knew it would be difficult to get them to issue a reasonable statement," she said of the UN committee in a Harvard Medical School video conference., "but never did I imagine that when faced with such undeniable atrocities – given the very purpose for which they have been established,– - that they would actually resort to not acknowledging it at all."
Ignoring the "unprecedented, premeditated and extreme cruelty of the sexual violence committed by Hamas," Prof. Halperin-Kaddari added, meant not only failing Israeli women but failing the entire international human rights system. "I still am a believer in this system. But this was a huge blow to this belief."

In light of the bullshit being put out by the UN Women organization, insisting that men should be legally recognized as women, let’s look at the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and see how many of these human rights women actually possess.
Of course it has to be acknowledged this list of human rights is fundamentally a list of ideals rather than the reality on the ground, and often even men in the world don’t possess every one of these rights.   However, i’d like to point out exactly how few of these rights women have.
On a side note, the UN website takes pains to point out that if Hansa Mehta of India hadn’t spoken up they wouldn’t have even thought to put ‘all human beings’ instead of men.  They say this to celebrate Hansa Mehta and to pat themselves on the back about their inclusivity, but isn’t that honestly shameful?  That they had to be told to include women??? more than HALF of HUMANITY, in a UNIVERSAL declaration of human rights?
Anyways, let's get into this.
Article 1 All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
So right out of the gate, in Article 1, we can see what women are stripped of: Women are not afforded equal dignity and rights, neither before the law or within culture, not in any country or place in the world.
And then there’s this stupid ‘spirit of brotherhood’.  Yeah, ‘siblinghood’ sounds weird, but is there literally no other way to express the connections humanity owes each other than through male relationship?
Article 2 Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.
This is a fantasy for all human beings, but yes, at least we’re finally talking about all human beings.
Article 3 Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.
This is attainable by many men currently, but what woman in the world today has ‘security of person’?  What woman alive today does not live with the threat of rape?
Article 4 No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.
‘Unpaid labor’, or women’s constant, unacknowledged, unpaid labor in care of the men, children and elderly in their lives.  Is that not servitude, if not outright slavery?
Article 5 No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
How many women in the western ‘free’ world are anally raped and choked during sex on a regular basis, without their permission?  How many women are forced into degrading clothing and practices of appearance?  How many women are belittled and dehumanized on a daily basis, in conversation, media, religious practice, culture?
Article 6 Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law.
Article 7 All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.
Barely, barely anywhere in the world do we have legal recognition of ourselves as human beings. Not even in the US is women’s humanity defended in the law. Women are not explicitly named as being human beings in the US legal code, but rather are only inferred to be a subset to men.
Article 8 Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law.
‘Effective remedy and national tribunal’ against rape when?  ‘Effective remedy and national tribunal’ against porn (filmed violence upon women) and prostitution (paid violence upon women) when?   ‘Effective remedy and national tribunal’ against child marriage, FGM etc when?
Article 9 No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.
Article 10 Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him.
Article 11 1. Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence. 2. No one shall be held guilty of any penal offence on account of any act or omission which did not constitute a penal offence, under national or international law, at the time when it was committed. Nor shall a heavier penalty be imposed than the one that was applicable at the time the penal offence was committed.
These are still effectively fantasy in many parts of the world, for both men and women.
Article 12 No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.
This is troublesome in a world where men’s honor is dependent upon the socially compliant behaviour of his female relatives, but also when will we begin to defend women from attacks upon her honour and reputation?
Article 13 1. Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the borders of each state. 2. Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country.
In a world where some women cannot even leave their home, much less their own country without male guardianship, this is a farce.
Article 14 1. Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution. 2. This right may not be invoked in the case of prosecutions genuinely arising from non-political crimes or from acts contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
Article 15 1. Everyone has the right to a nationality. 2. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his nationality nor denied the right to change his nationality.
This is also unattainable for many men.
Article 16 1. Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution. 2. Marriage shall be entered into only with the free and full consent of the intending spouses. 3. The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.
1 and 2 obviously not attainable in much of the world.  But also, why in 3. is ‘family’ the natural and fundamental group unit of society, and not 'tribe'?  That is an ideological choice that enshrines the subservience of women to men, and strangely dissonant to the organization of our species in the 200,000 years of our existence.
Article 17 1. Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others. 2. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.
Again, this is one of those laws that is on the books in my country and many other countries but is culturally ignored and actively worked around, to the detriment of women’s financial independence.
Article 18 Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.
Article 19 Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.
Article 20 1. Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. 2. No one may be compelled to belong to an association.
Few women enjoy these luxuries, as they are expected to conform to their family’s and husband’s thoughts, beliefs, religion, ideology
Article 21 1. Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives. 2. Everyone has the right of equal access to public service in his country. 3. The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.
Look at the low, low numbers of women participating in government around the globe, and then look me in the eye and tell me women have these rights in practice.
Article 22 Everyone, as a member of society, has the right to social security and is entitled to realization, through national effort and international co-operation and in accordance with the organization and resources of each State, of the economic, social and cultural rights indispensable for his dignity and the free development of his personality.
yup, pretty much nobody has these
Article 23 1. Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment. 2. Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work. 3. Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection. 4. Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.
Women recieving equal pay for equal work when?
also ‘himself and his family’?    ahhhhh you guys forgot women are people again, didn’t you
Article 24 Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay.
Please see Article 4 above, also women’s 'rest and leisure' when?
Article 25 1. Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control. 2. Motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance. All children, whether born in or out of wedlock, shall enjoy the same social protection.
We’re far away from both of these.  But also why are these in the same article?
Article 26 1. Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit. 2. Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. It shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups, and shall further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace. 3. Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children.
We’re also far from the attainment of this one, but also, isn’t there some fundamental conflict between 3 and the others?   Parents often choose to invest in their sons and ignore their daughters, the UN is fine with this?  Parents can have the right to discriminate among their children?
Article 27 1. Everyone has the right freely to participate in the cultural life of the community, to enjoy the arts and to share in scientific advancement and its benefits. 2. Everyone has the right to the protection of the moral and material interests resulting from any scientific, literary or artistic production of which he is the author.
Womens’ contributions to science and culture fully acknowledged when?  Women’s entitlement to the fruits of their intellectual labor actually protected when?
Article 28 Everyone is entitled to a social and international order in which the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration can be fully realized.
Article 29 1. Everyone has duties to the community in which alone the free and full development of his personality is possible. 2. In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare in a democratic society. 3. These rights and freedoms may in no case be exercised contrary to the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
Article 30 Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein.
Yeah, we’re also not here yet, but again, ‘his rights and freedoms’: you guys kinda forgot women are people here too.
Yes, this document was written in 1948.  Yes, it’s hard to update the texts of documents like this without opening a whole can of worms.  Yes, even men aren't guaranteed a number of these rights. But this document clearly shows us where women’s rights are lacking, and UNWomen, you’ve got a whole lot of nerve to ignore your real tasks in favor of ‘empowering’ a group of men at the expense of what little rights and protections women even have.

Natural disasters around the globe and now a war between Isreal and Palestine and instead of posting about how these issues impact women UN Women focuses on men in dresses and then doubles down when called out.
By Shay Woulahan. October 8, 2023
The official account for United Nations Women is under fire after posting in celebration of “trans lesbians” despite having released no formal statement condemning the violence against women in war-torn Israel. The posts, of which two were made on October 8, were intended to celebrate “International Lesbian Day.”
In the first post made to X (formerly Twitter), UN Women stated that there was “no one way to be a lesbian or express womanhood,” leaving many users confused as to the underlying meaning.
“There is only one way to be a lesbian,” one user wrote. “To be a female exclusively attracted to other females. And there is only one way to express womanhood — to be an adult human female,” user @OneSmallVoice wrote.
“Nah, there’s only one way to be either,” another user responded.
After hundreds of negative replies, UN Women made a second post hours later in an apparent effort to double-down on their narrative.
“Remember, trans lesbians are lesbians too,” the post read. “Let’s uplift and honor EVERY expression of love and identity!” The post was accompanied by an image reiterating “trans lesbians are lesbians.”
Tumblr media
Immediately, UN Women was hit with a storm of backlash from users who called the post “homophobic” and “rapey.”
Giggle Founder Sall Grover said the notice was “anti-lesbian,” stating: “Men aren’t lesbians. Deal with it.”
Tumblr media
Another top reply on the post, written by UK-based safeguarding group Safe Schools Alliance, accused UN Women of propagating rape culture.
“You are a disgrace. Delete this tweet, then delete your account. How DARE you contribute to the #RapeCulture women & girls suffer, from childhood, worldwide. Stand down & let people who know #SexMatters advocate for women & girls including our lesbian sisters.”
Other advocates that fight for women’s sex-based rights similarly called out UN Women, with many noting that the organization has yet to release an official statement condemning the brutality committed against women in Israel.
On October 7, Hamas militants launched a surprise offensive on Israel, targeting civilian areas with violence. Almost immediately, horrific videos began to circulate on social media showing the Islamic soldiers kidnapping and brutalizing women. In one of the most shocking pieces of footage, Hamas militants were seen parading around the corpse of a woman now identified as a German-Israeli civilian who had been in the region to attend a pro-peace festival.
As of the writing of this article, over 700 people in Israel have been confirmed dead and over 2000 are injured. In Gaza, the Palestinian Health Ministry has reported 370 dead, with over 2200 injured. Over 100 people have been taken as hostages by Hamas, a great number of them are women and children.
Jewish journalist Eve Barlow pointed out that despite making time to advocate for “trans lesbians,” UN Women hasn’t discussed the violence committed in Israel against females.
“@UN_Women has not issued a single tweet from their account about the crimes committed against Israel’s women. One [repost] on the subject, one tweet about Afghanistan and two about #LesbianDay. Jewish women deserve your advocacy,” stated journalist and activist Eve Barlow.
This is not the first time UN Women and the United Nations has promoted gender ideology at the expense of women. UN Women has a well-established history of calling for all nations to allow men to be able to self-declare their legal sex as female.
Tumblr media
“Trans women have the right to recognition of their self-identified gender – but in most countries, this is not available or subject to abusive restrictions,” UN Women posted in June.
This was blasted by British Member of Parliament Rosie Duffield who responded to the organization’s statement.
“No, this is not a universally accepted ‘right’ at all. And as a Member of Parliament in England, I will continue to work with other legislators to stop self-id from destroying women’s rights – rights to sport, single sex spaces, same-sex medical care.”
On International Women’s Day in 2020, UN Women endorsed a statement made by a trans-identified male in which he referred to women as “formless.” The man being celebrated by UN Women, model Aaron Philip, bragged about being platformed by the United Nations and referred to women who protested as “TERFs.”

The fact that the UN itself and specifically UN Women post messages diminishing the violence "cis women" (because we can't call ourselves women anymore even if that's what we are because some people are offended by the fact that we were born women) suffer by claiming trans women are more likely to suffer violence?
According to the UN, 6 women are killed in every hour. In Mexico, 10 women are killed by femicide every day. These are two statistics, paling in comparison of global violence against women. Add to that the harassment, the inequality of opportunities, and you're talking about a real shit fest.
But in order to "empower others" all of that violence gets packed up in a little bow to be used as "something smaller in comparison to what others suffer."
Fuck that.
If anyone should know about the violence women suffer in Latin America, in the Middle East, in Asia, in Africa, everywhere in the world, it's the United Fucking Nations. If anyone has any access to raw data and the actual reality of the world, it's the United Fucking Nations, and they hit us with this?
Knowing the violence we suffer, they think it's okay to erase it and put it aside to "empower another minority"?
This is, undoubtedly, one of the biggest middle fingers a NGO could give to women.
If your fight against oppression erases the struggle of another minority, you are becoming the opressor.
No other opressed minority holds this power as much as the trans community.
Stop erasing women. Stop erasing the violence we suffer. Stop taking advantage of us for your social agenda.
Learn to support and fight for your rights without stepping over others.
Trans people have their struggles, of course they do. You have a right to your spaces, you have a right to have your voice heard, but stop erasing women in the process. Trans women suffer gender violence when they come out as trans. Women suffer gender violence since the day we're born.
You can't compare the two, especially not when one of them is merely a man's grasp on what it is to be a woman.

EIGHT WEEKS AFTER THE TERROR AND MONSTROUS ATTACK ON ISRAEL, INCLUDING RAPES AND MURDERS OF WOMEN/CHILDREN AND MEN, THE UN WOMEN CONDEMNS HAMAS.
Eight.
Weeks.
To.
Condem.
Rape.
Because they were mostly Israelli Jews (because you all keep forgetting the Thai/Filipino/Arab who were victims as well).
A kidnapped woman gave birth in Hamas tunnles and it still took you EIGHT WEEKS.
Shame on you, UN Women.

radical facts - short feminist facts
#patriarchy
• Forced Marriage & Child Brides
Forced marriage is still a very prevalent violation of human rights worldwide, especially for women and girls. 88% of victims were women and girls.
37% of victims were under 18 at the time of the marriage. Of these, 44% were under 15 at the time of the marriage.
Each year, 12 million girls under 18 are getting married off. Most of these scenarios consist of the girl getting married off to a much older - adult - man.
The UN report (linked below) states that globally, in 2021, nearly 1 in 5 women aged 20-24 were married before turning 18.
(UN - Report "Gender Snapshot 2022"; general report on women's rights & equality worldwide)

To everyone asking why you tag Palestine posts as feminism, let's talk about:
The 300% increase in miscarriages in Gaza

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Two of these articles are from today, the other is a couple days old.

I cannot emphasize enough how we need to keep talking about why this IS a feminist issue in so many ways -and I appreciate this -thank you for sending me this. I have spoken about this a lot on my page, and whenever anyone asks me I link them to some of the posts I have made or make direct references to these issues and more. It's definitely the tip of the iceberg, absolutely. What is happening to Palestinian people -and disproportionately Palestinian women and children is beyond horrendous. I also have yet to hear anything from all the major organizations I emailed about the lack of period care in Gaza. It's deplorable.
Here are some of the posts I made previously on this, with links to organizations that people can connect with to demand better access to period care for those who need it in Gaza, and also one of the organizations supporting right now:

by Jackie Hajdenberg
(JTA) — Nearly 50 days after Hamas’ attack on Israel left 1,200 dead, and after weeks of criticism over its silence about allegations of sexual violence during the attack, the  women’s rights group UN Women issued a statement condemning the terror group on Friday.
Then it deleted the post.
“We condemn the brutal attacks by Hamas on October 7 and continue to call for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages,” read the initial statement, posted on UN Women’s instagram page. It was soon replaced with a statement that dropped the condemnation of Hamas and only called for the release of the hostages.
Word spread quickly among Jewish women activists and Israelis, reigniting their contention that UN Women — an official arm of the United Nations focused on promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment — holds a double standard when it comes to gender-based violence against Israeli women. Some of the critics — including Sheryl Sandberg, a former top Meta executive — have lobbied openly on the topic. Many have used the hashtag “#MeToo_UNless_UR_A_Jew.”
Reached for comment, UN Women told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the Instagram post had been scheduled in advance and was deleted because the message in it no longer reflected where the organization wanted to put its main focus.
“In any social media team managing multiple campaigns and during a very busy time like the one we are now with 16 Days of Activism, mistakes can occur,” a representative for UN Women said in a statement sent to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
In particular, said the media specialist, the release of some hostages over the weekend as part of a temporary truce changed the organization’s priorities.
“UN Women social media team had pre-planned days in advance [of] this particular post, but then the news broke on the release of hostages and we really wanted to focus on that,” she said. “UN Women has condemned the attacks by Hamas and the deaths of Israeli civilians from the beginning as well as called for the release of hostages, and we will continue doing so until the conflict ends. We have also called for all allegations of gender-based violence to be rigorously investigated, prioritizing the rights, needs, and safety of those affected.”
In late October, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza but voted down a provision condemning the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks. On Monday, Israel’s parliament, the Knesset, held a session on crimes against humanity committed against women during the Oct. 7 massacre.
After an initial statement on Oct. 13 condemning the attacks on civilians in Israel, all of UN Women’s public comments about the war and its impact on women had centered only on Palestinians. Last week, Sima Bahous, the group’s executive director, called for an extension of the current temporary truce into a permanent ceasefire and for the release of all hostages.
The National Council for Jewish Women, which had previously criticized UN Women’s silence on sexual violence against Israeli women, said the group’s second statement last week was inadequate.
“The delayed issuance of a statement that fails to explicitly address the severity of Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel — such as the brutal murder of over 1,200 people in Israel, torture, and rape of women, as well as the targeting of civilians and families — is equally reprehensible,” the statement said. “Immediate and unequivocal acknowledgment of these atrocities is imperative, given the blatant violation of international law.”

VO: 57 days after the October 7th massacre, and amid criticism over its silence about sexual violence, UN Women issued a statement condemning Hamas. The official inquiry started today.
Official 1: The UN Women organization was founded to ensure the safety of every woman in the world and we condemn any act of sexual violence. As a woman, I would like to tell you one thing from the bottom of my heart: I believe you.
Official 2: Me too.
Hamas Terrorist: Uh, thank you.
Official 1: We understand that it's still difficult for you to talk about these events, but it's important that the whole world will know what happened.
Hamas Terrorist: Uh, we raped a lot of women.
Official 1: What --
Hamas Terrorist: Of course. Yes.
Official 1: I understand, okay, but unfortunately it's a clear case of your words against their word.
Official 2: Which is the same word.
Official 1: Yeah, so we don't know if it's enough to prove it actually happened.
Hamas Terrorist: Oh, no problem, we have filmed all the whole thing. Do you want to look? Here.
Official 1: No, no, no, no, no. I don't want to see it.
Official 2: Me too, me too.
Official 1: I think we have a problem.
Official 2: We have a serious problem with a narrative --
Official 1: -- and also the context it's a --
Official 2: -- need something else --
Official 1: Okay, the committee has examined all the evidence and we have reached our conclusion: it was not a rape.
Hamas Terrorist: It wasn't?
Official 2: No, no. It was a Rapesistence.
Hamas Terrorist: A what?
Official 2: A rapesistance. A legitimate act of resistance which applies only against Jewish women.
Official 1: Rapesistance. I like it.
Hamas Terrorist: Me too.
Official 2: Me too!
Hamas Terrorist: Great! So, uh, it was a pleasure meeting you, and may I say you both look lovely today.
Official 1: Excuse me, we don't speak like that to women anymore, sir.
Hamas Terrorist: It was a compliment.
Official 2: it's 2023!
Hamas Terrorist: They have totally killed office romance.

(Long post)
I just had to check the comments under this post.
Trigger warning for a fuckton of transphobia, mentions of murder & rape from my rant.
Apologies for any spelling mistakes and such.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I am fuming right now. I'm not even surprised of all the transphobia, but the amount of it is sickening. One comment was good, that's it.
I'll never be able to love my fiancée in peace without some transphoic asshole saying I can't be a real lesbian if I'm with her, if I love her, if I'm okay with her being pre-op. Shut the fuck up.
I have to live in fear every fucking day that there's a decently high chance my fiancée could end up harmed, raped or even murdered. It all started because of disguising and close minded bigots like the people here. I have to hope every single damn day and every single time my fiancée goes out in public that someone won't attack her. Imagine living with that.
Imagine the families, the friends, the partners that lost someone simply because they were trans. Imagine someone finding out their wife was killed for simply existing in the same room because she was trans. Imagine finding out your brother was attacked and raped by a stranger or date because he was trans. Imagine living with that pain for the rest of your life.
My fiancée is such an amazing woman. She is a talented writer. She loves music with her entire heart. She feeds deer in her backyard. She got so excited seeing bunnies play outside her work. She loves coffee and cheese. She likes to play Animal Jam for nostalgia all the time. She feeds the stray cats in her area. She loves going to thift stores and antique stores. She loves the color purple. She adores horror movies. She tells me facts about the Doctor Who franchise so I better understand references. She's so excited for us to finally see each other next week for the first time. We plan to have a horror movie marathon and eat Halloween candy while wearing matching costumes on Halloween. We plan to be the gayest motherfuckers around.
She's fucking human. She's a sister, daughter, a fiancée, a niece. She wants to be a mom one day. She wants to make music, write comics, have cats and ferrets and bunnies, live in a nice home with a wraparound porch and have rocking chairs so we can watch the sunset together.
Does that sound predatory? Does that sound disgusting? Does it sound like she's harming anyone? Does it seem like she's a man pretending to be a woman to prey upon lesbians?
We are not a straight couple. We are not straight with extra steps. We are both lesbians who love each other and are gay as fuck. She is a talented, beautiful, kind-loving human being that just wants to fucking live without watching behind her back. I'm allowed to love her, I'm allowed to love her body pre-op and post-op, I'm allowed to love her before & after she's on estrogen, I'm allowed to hold her hand and kiss her in public, I'm allowed to marry her, I'm allowed to want a family with her, I'm allowed to love my fiancée. It does not make me less of a lesbian to do so.
She's the love of my life and no one would ever convince me she's just a man pretending to be a woman, she's sick, she's dangerous, she's a risk to children. She is a woman. She always has been. She's my girlfriend, my fiancée, and eventually my wife. We will always be lesbians. No chromosome or genitalia bullshit changes that. She's my girl, she's my beautiful love, she's my whole heart and soul. I'll fight tooth and nail to stand up for her, to fight beside her, to protect her. I'd happily go to prison for attacking someone if they harmed her. Whether that be a complete stranger, a family member, or even police. She can easily stand up for herself, but that will never stop me from being right beside her.
To all transphobes, to all lesbians who think trans women can't be lesbians, to all lesbians that "speak for all lesbians" like this, to anyone that thinks trans women are men, to anyone that thinks trans women can't be lesbians. Sincerely, go fuck yourselves.
