Oparu w/ their charizard Eclipse, Zodiac with Sagitarius the Rowlet, and Tyrael with Yggdrasil the grotle (she evolved recently, I’ll post some art relating to that soon >:) )
He’d gotten to witness something quite extraordinary when his visited Cain next.
The old scholar had a baby. Tyrael had never seen a baby before.
He knew what they were in theory of course, knew that mortals had to be babies before becoming...bigger mortals? Okay, so maybe he was a little fuzzy on the concept too. And...maybe he hadn’t exactly realized that this blobby little thing was actually a human at first.
“What is that?” He’d poked at the bundle of squirming, squawking blankets in Cain’s arm. The whole thing could've easily fit in just one of his guantleted hands.
“This is Leah.” the man’s smile was soft, but radiant. Gently, he peeled back a layer to reveal a pudgy red face that was mostly cheek and a few tufts of red hair.
“Oh.” Tyrael inspected the face carefully, but found he still had no idea what he was looking at. “ ...And what is Leah?”
Cain just laughed. “She’s a child of course. A baby.”
What would you say is the best reason for people to come live in Apricus City?
"If you ask me, our city's growing economy gives a lot of opportunities for newcomers to make something of themselves. Come visit any Cheshire Financial banking or investment firms and we'll show you exactly what I mean."
"There's always work to do. You won't find a lot of people wanting for a job out here. Head to the Union headquarters. We'll set you up."
"We have a united cultural tradition that goes back centuries. Our city may only be free within living memory but its roots are deep. I invite you to see our churches, cathedrals, and charities. The Consecration welcomes you to our services and learn what it means to truly live here."
"The council aren't the only one providing purpose in Apricus. The Bounty Hunters' Association is always looking for new blood. Where there are jobs no one else will do, we are there to do them- and make bank doing it of course. Come sign up if you think you're strong enough."
"The Diamond District offers delights and entertainment galore. We entertain nearly all of the city. We'd be bored without all of you so here's to the creatives! Find your calling at the Diamond District! I'm sure Mr. R will be happy to have you."
For Eph, who requested some Sinoun flirting with Tyrael, from my original series “Tethers”
Dance With Me
Tyrael is entirely too easy to rattle, which is why it’s so much fun.
There’s something enticing about the loyalty Tyrael has for the man he left behind -- a loyalty he’d offered without knowing anything of the wider world and the temptations it offered.
Sinoun loves to see how far he can push Tyrael until Tyrael pushes back. He wonders just how far that loyalty goes.
He wonders if there’s any way to claim that loyalty for himself.
Tyrael requires, in equal measures, a delicate touch and a heavy hand. Quiet moments on watch where Sinoun listens intently, offers shared body heat in a chaste manner to chase away the chill of a long night. More verbose moments on the tavern floor, when the raucous noise of too many strangers and their other party members divide Tyreal’s attention.
He blushes with a compliment. He’s angry when Sinoun is too direct. But he yields when Sinoun plays the game, flirtatious and seemingly benign.
There’s music. There’s dancing. It’s a night of revelry and fun. Even Dakota has conceded to the festive atmosphere, trading tips with a fellow knitter rather than sulking in a dark corner. There’s not a glum face to be found.
Someone has given Tyrael a cup of fireberry ale. That someone might have been Sinoun. But it makes Tyrael friendly, offering small smiles, more open to affection. He lets Celeste hug him. He briefly dances with Tempest before her eye is caught by another halfling woman, half-spilling out of her blouse and looking for a fun romp.
If Sinoun had not been so focused on Tyrael, he might have gone after the halfling, but now Tempest has staked a claim, and Sinoun is content to sling an arm around Tyrael’s waist, press along Tyrael’s side, and enjoy the lazy slouch of Tyrael’s weight against him.
Without his perpetual scowl, Tyrael is even more charming. His hair is loose over his shoulders, thin braids falling in all directions. His cheeks are flushed; his eyes are bright.
He’s not drunk, but he’s far more open, and Sinoun is not one to waste an opportunity when it’s presented.
“Dance with me,” he murmurs into Tyrael’s ear, breathing warm and moist over the sensitive skin, feeling Tyrael shiver. He presses his fingers against Tyrael’s waist. “Please?”
Tyrael is quiet, but he doesn’t pull away. Instead, he drinks from his mug, drains it every drop, and clumsily puts it on the table behind him. He swipes the back of his hand across his mouth, and turns his head to look at Sinoun.
The bonfire reflects in his eyes, and they’re close enough to kiss now. It’s a craving Sinoun resists. He wants Tyrael to close the distance.
“Fine,” he says, and he grins, as though he’s won this round, and he has. Because that smile shoots a dagger to Sinoun’s heart. “One dance.”
“Two,” Sinoun bargains, taking Tyrael’s free hand and tangling their fingers together. He swings Tyrael toward the other swaying bodies, moving to the music. “At least one of which lets press as close as I like.”
His fingers knead along Tyrael’s side before sliding around to his spine, pressing against the curve of his back, urging them closer. They are nearly of a height, though Tyrael is much broader in the shoulder than he.
Tyrael lifts his chin. “One that allows you close, or two that keeps us separate.”
“You drive a hard bargain,” Sinoun breathes and leans in close enough to suggest he might kiss the edge of Tyrael’s jaw.
He doesn’t, but he knows Tyrael anticipates it all the same by the way he waits without pushing Sinoun away.
“One then,” Sinoun says, and briefly brushes his cheek to Tyrael’s before he draws away. “And I get a kiss.”
It’s a gamble.
Tyrael can call the whole thing off and walk away, and Sinoun will have gained nothing. Or, struck by a loneliness months apart from his lover, Tyrael might finally yield.
Sinoun holds his breath.
“One of each,” Tyrael says, and exhales shakily. “But no tongue.”
His gamble has paid off.
One dance and one kiss, both freely given? It’s a greater victory than he has won in years.
“Deal,” Sinoun says, and swings Tyrael out to join the dance.
Tyrael, I love you, but goddamnit, your sword is a b!tch.
I honestly don't know what is up with El'druin's design, but my brain just cannot fully understand it in 3D. It's like looking at a Lovecraftian god, I swear. Took me an hour to finally nail it in a pic, and that's when I realized I still need to paint that MOFO.
“Good evening, Apricus City. For our visitors in the audience, I am Tyrael Cheshire, CEO of Cheshire Financial Group. I apologize for the delay in my speech. It appears I have the last one of the day as a result. Well the order of these never mattered. This year marks a momentous step forward for Apricus City. We have opened the border to immigrants, visitors, foreign business, and wider trade. We have not gone out of our way to hide what commonly threatens our city ever since the revolution ended, but we are equally as proud of what we have on display to defend it. That said, I am not going to harp on about what the rest of the council already has.
“A few taunting broadcasts from a fringe lunatic are of no concern to most of you, I’m sure. I am not here to promise a job well done in exchange for a handful of longstanding inconveniences. I will bring you something far more substantial- something you all can actually make use of instead of one or two districts patting themselves on the back after tracking down one fugitive. My promise to the city is something that will actually give back to the people- starting with your wallets. Starting today, the Cheshire Financial Group will begin operating currency exchanges and international shareholding for all of our partner businesses that come to operate in Apricus. All participating incoming capital ventures will have a segment of their stock available for purchase from approved brokers. Apricus Bank’s CEO, Mr. Daniel Harving, has created a robust team of auditors and accountants to train new staff for this as well. How this affects you should be clear.
“A hiring surge will begin shortly complete with on the job training for entry level staff starting at 40,000 credits per year will full corporate benefits. Salaries will increase with position and experience. Go to any Apricus Bank or accredited stock exchange company in the city and you will find details on specifics. Please, enjoy the rest of the festivities. If you are lucky, you may even see my family present at the Euterpe Concert Hall later tonight for their yearly presentation of Love in the Time of Revolution. But with that, I will leave the floor for the evening. Goodnight, dear city.”
“Of course it’s bothering me. You know what this talk of loyalists will bring.”
“Then you understand why it is more important that I say nothing. I cannot appear reactionary lest I be accused of harboring sympathies by standing too quickly against Hades.”
“Will that not already happen if you refuse to denounce him?”
“Does it truly matter if I do or not? This will play out poorly for whomever moves first. It is better to wait this out. No one truly believes anyone on the council harbors any love for Heliosa’s emperor. Even more now that he and his entire line are long dead. The empire is a relic now- a tale that will one day be used to scare children into going to bed. However, my attachment to the name of Baskerville puts me in a slightly sensitive position.”
“Tyrael, you married me proudly. You saw the blood of the most hated man of the Revolution, the ‘Bloody’ General Dunstan Baskerville, and decided that you would be the one to prevent us from being hunted down. It was that pride and spirit that drove me to accept your offer back when you were still a lowly mercenary. Why the restraint now? Where is the bravery?”
“There is a difference between bravery and recklessness. That man has made the situation quite delicate, especially when the populace will be brimming with patriotic fervor and the stories of General Baskerville and his atrocities will be told again and again. We, moreso than any others, will be under quite a lot of scrutiny- but we also cannot be goaded into playing Hades’s game and commit to unnecessary action.”
“And on what authority do you have so solidly that you know what he wants?”
Tyrael grumbled and kept silent for a short while. He rarely appeared to linger in his thoughts, only staring ahead and waiting for more.
“Do not hide behind silence. Answer me! You speak of friends and contacts but what do you really know? Why do you not trust me with this!?”
“You would not approve.”
“You damnable man!” In a flash, a sword is drawn and several quick slashes flew in Tyrael’s direction. The blows simply glanced off his body as he stood there. “What happens if this caution backfires!? What will the rest of the council do if you remain silent!?”
“That isn’t really their concern now is it?” Tyrael shifted his stance to occasionally deflect blows more to save his outfit than any concern for damage. This was not because Cassandra’s blade was blunt, though. He could merely take the hits. “You know me better than that, Cassandra. This is not just about addressing the city anymore. I will need to make it quite clear that if this man’s threats of the old empire come to my doorstep because of your grandfather there will be a price to pay.”
Cassandra continued her assault, her complaints occasionally peppered with laughter. “Yes, perfect! Don’t just stand there and take it!” Her swings started to get less practiced and more wild, being deflected or even dodged by the otherwise immobile man briskly. “If you make this decision you had best be ready. I don’t want some debating councilman out there murmuring about taking things too far. Don’t give them the man you pretend to be for the crowds. Give them the man I know. The man who will stand in front danger proud and strong, unafraid to pronounce just how inferior these addled masses really are. It will be us at the top, looking down on the rest of these fools who think they understand what it means to live! Forget the city! Forget Hades! They can fight for our approval if they’re so determined. They should not see a businessman today. They should see a WARRIOR!” The slender blade fell to the ground as Cassandra paused to catch her breath and nearly falling over.
Tyrael brushed himself off, letting a few strips of fabric from his slashed shirt fall to the floor, smiling at his wife. He catches her as gently as his strength allowed as she collapsed. “Have you gotten it out of your system?”
“Hahahahahahaha!” Cassandra let herself fall and go limp. “Yes... Yes, I think so...” She looked up to Tyrael with an almost hungry look.
“I almost want one of those lesser bastards to dare and challenge you. I would live you see you put any of them in their proper place.”
“That will not be needed, Cassandra. I will do so by simply watching the rest of them fail and waste their resources. The rest of the council is overplaying their hand for public face. I will not make their mistake.”
“Tyrael, you have not issued a statement about Hades since the broadcasts began. If he claims a connection to Heliosan loyalists things could become problematic here quickly. You know my family’s reputation.”
“There is no need. I have my own assurances about the matter.”
Have the title card art that I made for Iridescent Platinum for fun! (because mock anime lookin posters go brrrrrrr)
Tyrael is the one on the left, Sasha is on the right.
Yggdrasil (turtwig) and Vex (eevee) are the two pokemon next to Tyrael, and Sparx (growlithe) n Emperor (piplup) are the ones next to Sasha.
Eeeey its Tyrael! She’s my Sinnoh trainer, mainly for Pokemon Platinum.
Her background is that she used to live in Oreburgh, and was in the mines when a small quake triggered a collapse. She lost her forearm in the collapse and has a few scars. Afterwards she moved to Twinleaf town and stayed with her grandparents.
She’s technically got two different teams? One of her teams is for the actual run
and the other team is for like... an AU/rp that’s basically me and a friend going ‘Nintendo may not make a Pokemon Platinum Remake so let’s do it ourselves’ that’s called Iridescent Platinum. Her team in that is a bit different because we added more pokemon.
Her vanilia team is
Yggdrasil - Torterra
Vex - Espeon
Vitallity - Stariva
Calamity - Houndoom
Scylla - Gyrados
Kereska - Garchomp
Her Iridescent Platinum Team (Has sprite recolors done by me!!!) is
Yggdrasil - Torterra
Vex - Espeon
Kereska - Garchomp
Nifleim - Argon
Spectre - Aerodactyl (doesn’t have a sprite cause the design for them is from a fan-made alolan aerodactyl!)
The 6th member of her team is undecided currently!
