if it's not completely obvious via ffx-2 and my in-character posts, Tromell harbours a lot of guilt and shame over what Seymour, and subsequently the Guado, did to Spira. even more for what they did to the Ronso & the Al Bhed. they were very much complicit in what Seymour was doing/did, and Tromell can't put all the blame on Seymour himself. Seymour was a product of his environment, an environment that the Guado helped cultivate, and the Guado trying to cover up his first death under the guise of 'the Guado deal with Guado affairs' didn't help matters.

while these feelings don't drive his actions after he becomes the leader of the Guado, because doing things based on guilt and shame won't help matters and might make things worse, he does want to be seen as trying to make amends. he wants to try and put the Guado's best foot forward, to teach future generations about what not to do, and not to be seen trying to cover up their past. what Seymour did, and what the Guado helped him do, was disgraceful, and that's precisely why he wants to make sure something like it never happens again. despite their arrogance, Tromell intends to tell future generations of the Guado about their history, not skipping out on Seymour and his childhood, or on Jyscal and Anna's relationship.

they've kept too many secrets over the years and this is one that he won't let them keep. he knows Spira won't let them forget it anyway, they might as well own up to it and learn from it.

It was created only there too, at the time. Exports to other areas stopped once the Calm started ( for some economic, bullshit reason that wasn't exactly clarified. ) It was marveled by Spirans for its deep, perwinkle color and its taste. Sommeliers called it violet noir, but Virote mostly knew it to be a rosé with a load of lavender notes. An acquired taste for people who weren't exactly alcohol savvy.

Virote was very proud of himself as he slid the bottle closer to Tromell's end of the table with a pointer finger—he was always proud of himself when he could pull one over someone. ❝I used a dress sphere to disguise myself since I have… Well, some temporary issues with the temple in Bevelle. I'm not too wild about this new tech coming out like sphere grids or whatever, but it has usefulness. Let's finish up making dinner and crack this thing open. 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲, forever meant to be restless images of a long gone past, unresolved, unending,  unyielding.  guadosalam’s aura has made it so that her return was often postponed — perhaps in fear of facing the past that was eagerly waiting for the rightful bride to step foot into the widow’s clothes. however, the unstable farplane could not wait for a member of the council any longer, and it seemed fitting that she would be the representative, since she was so rightfully supporting the cause of the lost guado, the only ones capable of truly understanding the many mysteries of its instability.

she was not the long lost girl that once stepped foot inside this decaying mansion; many insisted that it was her right to own it today, after all, the high summoner was the late guado maester’s wife, better — murderous widow. but she gave no word and left the door ajar for today, her stay perhaps longer than she had expected it to be, away from the ( almost ) safe walls of bevelle. the farplane had proved an unresolvable challenge, one that brought her to sit with her knees against the ground of the floating platform that led inside, barely an inch away from its decaying entrance. yuna has tried and tried to make a sense of it, of the pyreflies shamelessly making fun of her life as they brushed against her skin, in and out of the farplane as they pleased — it has been overwhelming even for a high summoner.

her skin now gone cold to the touch, the dead requesting her guidance once more as they swarm around her long hair — and then, suddenly floating away at once, as a warm feeling embraces her shoulders from above. her gaze widens, trying to make a sense of the dissipating pyreflies, who shockingly enough were not scared of the new presence behind her, but familiar with it. her head turns to meet the figure, her eyes softening at the view of tromell looking over her, in the same manner he did back when she was a stranger, a young girl set on to marry his liege. a tender smile creates on her features, and her fingers wrap around the ends of the received blanket, sinking in it with a sigh.  ❝ i could not really sleep, ❞ she justifies herself and her position, as she props herself up with the help of her own staff,  ❝ i have been long gone from here. this place — ❞  words lack to pass the hurt she feels, to think that so much pain and torment has come to spira, unjustified, at the expenses of their recklessness towards the farplane, so sacred. she reaches over, her palm vertically parallel to the decaying shield of the entrance of the farplane. ❝ what can i do to help, tromell? ❞

'The guado found a resilient leader these days. Even though Tromell doesn't see it, I think he was a good addition to oversee Guadosalam. He's really put his all to return their community around and undo the damages Maester Seymour left behind.

'Well. Most of it.

'There are those who will never forgive the guado, throwing the past in their faces by claiming the Guado brought Spira to ruin and followed the leadership of a man who only wished to inflict harm on Spira's people.

'But.

'I think with Tromell at the head of things, Spira and Guado could foster peace again, someday. I'm cheering for you, Tromell.'

how’d did matty and his gf meet? like through his friends co worker?

in my head, Matty has to date someone creative even if its from a different industry. like she's not famous or a popstar/ model/ etc but she's like a museum curator, or a book author, or graphic designer, architect, photographer, etc like something like that. they're different enough that they pull each other out of their comfort zone and expertise but similar enough that they can relate or inspire each other or have creative conversations. I imagine him as needing someone to both ground him and challenge him. Someone who doesn't give a shit that hes some famous important rockstar but totally supports and hypes him up. someone who humbles him.

so i imagine like hes a fan of her work for a while. He reaches out to collaborate or to get her to design something for his tour or to buy something of her work to include for a 1975 thing or to get her to direct a music video or something. Matty's always tryna work with his fav people (see Brad Tromel, Caveh Zahidi, Brett Easton Ellis, etc) so I could totally see it a professional relationship turned friendship turned romance. idk thats the story i've made up for his future hahahah

ooc; other verses I wanna write up/develop:

ffvii verse for Paine: something to do with the Crimson Squad being a test group for Shinra, similar to what they did with Jenova cells and Genesis, Zack, Sephiroth, and Angeal, and Shinra wanting them to be highly trained field agents. obviously it failed, most of the Squad died on a field mission similar to that of the Den of Woe, with only Paine, Nooj, Gippal, and Baralai escaping. they split up, go on the run, maybe something akin to Nooj betraying them due to Mako poisoning, etc. etc. Paine stays on the run for 2 years and maybe ends up joining a branch of Avalanche called the Gullwings, which focuses more on recon, materia, and weapons gathering than anything else? need to flesh this out, but it's an idea.

ffviii verse for Paine: spot the theme. secret group of soliders hidden by one of the gardens, trying to figure out a better way to train child soliders that ends up going horribly wrong for all involved. Paine, Nooj, Gippal, and Baralai are the only ones to survive and go their separate ways. I'm not too sure what Paine would do after this (maybe something similar to a group like Rinoa's?). I need to replay viii at some point to figure this out. maybe she'd still be affiliated with one of the gardens, but in a different area? who knows.

ffxii verse to Leblanc: runs a crime syndicate somewhere. takes in everybody, doesn't discriminate based on where they're from or what they've done. ???. profit. needs fleshing out (obvs.), but it's an idea.

if anyone wants a thread in any of these (or any ideas for how to flesh these out), hit me up, but deets might change if and/or when they get a proper thing done.
