So how would the tribes and their leaders react to the grey trolls?

Pacifically Delta Dawn,Queen Essence and King Quincy and Queen Barb.

I read from one of your posts that the grey country trolls were grey because they liked other music genres and were considered criminals resulting them getting kicked out of their home and if I'm not mistaken a few were kids?

How would they react to seeing Delta Dawn since she is mostly likely the one who made the decision.

The (some) funk trolls were researchers that were left behind so how will they feel when they meet Queen Essence and King Quincy,and how will those two react knowing how they became grey.

And how will Queen Barb react to the reasons the rock trolls left and became grey especially since one of them was deaf.

Pop: The Pop trolls try to welcome back the grey trolls with open arms. (They are so happy by the discovery of them Because friendship) Who for some reason aren’t to excited to come back? I wonder why.. (The grey trolls are way to scared of what the pop tribe is like they basically took a break from being “happy”like the others and now see how messed up everything is) The Pop tribe is determined to bring there colors back no matter what (I’m talking loud obnoxious parties, activity after activity, loooooonnnngg hugs that last for days, being braided to another troll who is supposed to be your fun buddy) but after a long time (and tons of reflection) they realize how messed up it all seemed. So they took it slow and let them just get accustomed to everything, a party or two a week and not a lot of loud noises (plus no more tying people together) gradually overtime the grey pop trolls are able to be in the village and not feel overwhelmed (a looooot of insecurity about being grey though)

Techno: Trollex welcomes all the Techno trolls who were lost, left or born in the grey tribe. (He was initially shocked but quickly relieved to find the missing trolls who have been gone for years!! Plus the new editions) He tries to help them as much as he can, ie fixing torn flippers, setting up a new foster system for future trollings, making sure to know who is here or missing every week, overall just trying to help with what he can to make them more comfortable (He didn’t do much wrong with the grey Techno trolls as some of the other tribes besides a few getting separated from the group by currents and no one noticing) but he tries to right whatever wrong there is…..and throw a few raves in their honor he is still a troll he will party. The grey Techno trolls greatly appreciate it and get along well with the other Techno trolls.

Funk: The absolute guilt the royal family has is insane!!! Not only did they leave behind a group of researchers, but they are the ones who asked for them TO BE THERE!!(they did go back and look for them but found nothing) they try to make amends and do whatever to help the trolls, the fact the trolls were grey because of them almost put them in an early grave. They start figuring out ways so that this situation would never happen again (I feel like trackers would be their best option) the grey Funk researchers are a little angry at the royal fam (I mean they left them so it’s a valid response) but they do forgive them on account of why they left (I’m going to say bird attack that forced them to get out of there quickly) and the fact they went back for them🥹 (the fam still does whatever to help like, making therapy a way bigger thing on the ship for others ) they also help the other grey funk trolls get accustomed to the ship and being around more trolls.

Classical: Trollzart would immediately put into action more ways for Symphony Ville to be more accessible for trolls who can’t fly, while also putting in ways for the classical trolls to get around more (I imagine they use walking cane or some form of wheelchairs to get around because like they have the bodies of literal BABIES?!?! Can they even walk on their own?!?) As for the other grey trolls they try to get accustomed to them, maybe put on performances where they show their sorrow and anguish, but also try their best to help them however they can.

Country: Oh boy… Delta is absolutely mortified by her actions. Not only did she kick out a couple of trolls from the flats (sooo much guilt) but they had kids while they were out there, kids who had to survive in the forest for years !!!( I hc that she absolutely loves kids!!) she tried her best to make what she did right (she’s been feeling guilty about it for years) the banished country trolls themselves hold a lot of resentment towards her. I mean who wouldn’t for what she did to them, but after months of holding the grudge and resentment and many many constant apologies and acts of kindness they eventually forgive Delta (there is still awkward tension between the three but they try to put it aside) Delta does absolutely whatever to fawn and show the kids love and kindness since she feels guilty about her being the reason they were grey to begin with. She also helps the other grey country trolls who either went too far away from the flats or got dragged away by predators and got lost cause of it. She tries her best to make amends for all the country trolls and their young. Now she tries to keep track of her people more and has grown a tolerance to all music. The grey trolls greatly appreciate all she does for them and their kids now. (I know I made Delta look like a bad person but this was in the past and to be fair she did lock up Poppy and Branch when she first met them sooooo… I do really love Delta though)

Rock: Barb was angered by the fact some of her people were in the forest surviving for years and grey!??!!! (She seems to be really insecure about being a leader this issue does not help her) she places a lot of guilt on herself because of this and does WHATEVER it takes to make things right!! So she implements a lot of mental health things (more therapy, rage rooms concerts about mental health) anything to bring awareness and to help. For the one deaf rock troll they go immediately to the funk trolls and soon enough hearing aids were made for the little rocker (by the way the deaf troll is like 8, i thought it would make it more angsty that a child left because they felt out of place.. and I was right!!! it makes it sooo much worse) Barb and the rock trolls basically bend over backwards to help their fellow rockers. The grey rockers greatly appreciate what has been done for them and how they got used to their survivalist antics.

It just doesn't sit right with me that in fanfiction whenever Branch and Poppy get married he becomes a king. He would outrank the current queen when he's not even royalty and usually in real world the highest title that he would get would be prince consort. He would be the happiest troll ever if they get married but they would co-lead and he would help her just like now but she would still be the real leader and things wouldn't change that much.

Frostpaw coming to the realization that the Park Cats have a culture that she likes better than the culture of the clans, and wanting to bring elements of it back home with her? That COULD be an actually good use of a traveling book, and it WOULD be an actually nice change to see the clans do any kind of self-reflection on the violence of their culture. Unfortunately, I don’t trust the Erins even a little bit to follow through in any kind of satisfactory way on that plot thread, so I worry it’s going to result in the Clans once again looking at an outside culture and taking a very xenophobic lesson away from interacting with it.

I'm still trying to work out my feelings on the return of the Park Cats... overall, I think I'm feeling pretty frustrated, and it's coloring my perception of them

I also really disliked Riverstar's Home, though. I hated the traveling, I didn't find the Park very interesting in practice, was annoyed by a ton of small things. It felt like the book only got good once we were back in the forest, so, maybe I'm still tasting my sour introduction to the Park cats.

I also don't have any faith in the authors to handle Waffle and Wasp well, or any of the practices Frostpaw is planning to bring home. At this point I'm expecting it. What's really on my mind is... why?

Why did they create a whole little unchanging cultural bubble, a group under glass, exactly the same as it was during the dawn of the clans... when they were just going to blast Frostpaw with The Avatar State anyway?

She can talk to Riverstar whenever. And every ancestor who served under him. And you don't even have to waste 6 chapters on travelling. Could we not have learned about meditation from Riverstar, if the Erins are soooo eager to shove the ancestors into this and write him as her spirit guide?

Like, all this time dedicated to a culture whose one trait is meditating. I have frustrations with the Sisters and Tribe, but they're interesting concepts, with their own spiritual beliefs, government, and customs. So far, the neo-Park has been bland.

Like Guardians, a bare-bones group that showed up once in an SE and just existed to serve the Clan cats for a while, and send Tigerheart back with new characters.

But like, back to the Lesson of the Park Cats, whatever thing Frostpaw could bring home

I just... man, I go off about Clan Culture and its violence literally all the time, but this arc has been ridiculously peaceful. We are 4/6ths of the way through and there was one major battle, at the end of a book, which was bloodless. All the fighting has been arguments.

What exactly is Frostpaw going to learn from the Park cats? How to be passive? Is that going to help RiverClan get rid of the occupying army? Will the power of mindfulness help them un-forget all of their battle training and remind them how to do their own laundry?

If (if.) The Erins have planned all this out, then what they're going to do next is have Frostpaw take what she's learned, and use it to help un-divide RiverClan.

Which TO BE CLEAR would be good for Frostpaw as a character!

But that's not addressing the violence of clan culture or even leaning into it. That wouldn't really be a cultural change, so much as Frostpaw having learned leadership skills... which, again, makes me wonder what the point of a culture frozen in time really was, when they blasted her with this super strong, unprecedented magic connection to StarClan.

Trolls Headcannons (Tribe Leaders Edition)

°None of the tribes knew of the near extinction of the Pop Trolls until their first visit to Pop Village. None of them could believe that the once feared tribe were whittled down to a couple hundred. Their respect for Poppy and Branch continued to rise after learning about what they did.

°The tribes are more technologically advanced than the pop trolls in various ways. Many chalk it up to the tribe's years in isolation. The country trolls, being closer in technology, helped them ease into the new age.

Delta Dawn

°Delta doesn't fully enjoy the pop sound, but is slowly coming around due to "cross-overs" occurring between tribes. She does enjoy Poppy's company as a fellow leader though, even giving her advice on how to handle more serious cases cause of her status as Sheriff.

°Delta isn't a natural red head. She was born teal to match her tail, but believed the colors didn't convince people she was leader material. She turned it red to be taken more seriously, but left her tail alone.

°Delta's niece, Clampers, isn't allowed with the pop trolls alone due to all the candy lying around. Delta can barely wrangle her as is. She doesn't need that job being any harder.

King Quincy & Queen Essence

°The Royal Couple spent a majority of their search for Cooper in the confines of Vibe City. They sent out scouts rather than searching themselves out of fear of the pop trolls.

°Queen Essence handles most of the inner conflicts of Vibe City as well as piloting the place to the next location. She is the main go-to when it comes to large arguments on the dance floor.

°King Quincy oversees all of the music production. He felt a bit of pride when Prince D started developing a new subgenre. He works with his kingdom's scientists to see about the technological developments.

King Trollex

°Trollex always has his little buddy with him wherever he goes. They function like a service animal, reminding Trollex that he needs to get submerged for a few minutes to prevent shocking his body. Though he can function in and out of the water, Trollex's body is too used to being submerged.

°Trollex works with Prince D, Brozone, and Barb to make remixes and work on music production. He helps with the recording process and mixing over anything else.

°Trollex helped set up a few technological items in Pop Village, alongside King Quincy. These items made inter-tribe communication easier and quicker than sending a bat or a bird.

Trollzart

°Trollzart is slightly deaf in one ear due to baby classicals/instruments playing pranks on him and aiming for his ear. He was gifted a set of earplugs one holiday season as a joke from Barb.

°Trollzart enjoys working with the funk and pop trolls, but only those who respect his music rather than butchering the melody.

°Trollzart hardly ever uses his legs due to constantly flying around, so there's little strength in them. He and many other classical trolls will seek help from a funk troll or catch a ride on many of the helpful animals in the Pop Forest.

Barb

°Barb and other rock trolls went on an "apology tour" and rebuilt the damage they caused. It took several months to get most of the major buildings done, but all the base construction was done within a year. The decorating was left to the tribes.

°Barb brought out a new side to Poppy, encouraging her to be more flirty with her boyfriend. Whether or not this was a good idea is debated, but she can confidentially say from observation that Branch doesn't mind.

°Barb took lessons from the pop trolls on utilizing their hair control to constantly update her looks for concerts. She's particularly fond of the multi-colored mohawk-mullet combo.

Choice Bits from the Wanderer's Journal (pt. 2)

After the Fungal Wastes is the Mantis Tribe, of course. This is personally one of my favorite lore bits in the book because it gives us even more insight as to how the different tribes of the caverns interacted with each other and with Hallownest. The Fungal Tribe and Mosskin chose allyship with the beetles, while the Mantids...not so much.

And for more nice flavortext on strained territory boundaries, here's info about Deepnest and the Hive, further proving that Hallownest was not a colonizing civilization at all as much as it was a territory that seemed to try to establish trade routes with other kingdoms, to various success. It seems like predator/prey schisms lead to deep mistrust between some tribes, since the mantises are noted here as 'savages', which is something that must have been conveyed to the narrator by the citizens of Dirtmouth, or perhaps the few mosskin not yet overwhelmed by the Infection (she isn't a void being, so she doesn't seem to face the same level of frenzied violence that Ghost does in their journey). I note the predator-prey dynamics specifically because Deepnest and the Mantises seemed to have outright hostile interactions with the City while the Hive simply had no need to ally itself with a foreign kingdom.

Didn't bother the Pale King, however, given the fact that he allied with the mantises and seems to have attempted to establish ties with Deepnest and the Hive, to no avail. For a god, he wasn't very good at this whole 'conquering' nonsense- if I had to guess, his success with the Mosskin, Moths, and the Fungal Tribe were based entirely on the fact that the mosskin/moths were peaceful herbivores who could comfortably live alongside the beetles (his society), while the Fungal Tribe benefited from all the waste that the city produced.

I love that they make special note of how ancient, noble, and advanced the predator societies are, despite what the prey tribes seemed to think of them. Also, beetle society, while diverse, def. had issues with class divides, lmao. It seems that the Pale King took advantage of this in order to fund city maintenance and pet projects, which is something that I suspected right from the get-go given how high society would have once been placed in the Ancient Basin, near enough to the palace to entice them with a charity fountain.

What do you think Hiccup the younger's relationship is like with his niece and nephew, Zephyr and Nuffink? He lowkey looks like one of those fun uncle who lets the kids get away with alot of things. Younger ADORES those kids. And he comes in a package of three, so Elder's kids not only get Uncle Hiccup, they also get Uncle Fish and Aunt Cami <3

They spoil those kids. Little Fish loves to take them on walks and naps and the kids pick up the bad habit of ankle-biting from their dear aunt Camicazi <3 And Minicup definitely lets them get away with a lot of things, using the royalty card to justify it, of course

He'll teach them dragonese, too, because these kids get to grow up around dragons!

The kids are certainly confused as to why Hiccup and Hiccup share the same name, but they call Elder "dad" anyway so it's not too life changing, lmao. If anything they're going to be mixing up the Fishlegses names! Probably have to call one "uncle Fish" and the other "uncle Legs", lmao!

Nomads AU! PEPPY SUCKS !!!!!!! (And so does POP village)

Pop village basically alienated Branch. He was deemed an outcast by the village standards. Sure there have been grey trolls in the past but it has never lasted longer than a day at most! Branch has been grey for months now and has swore off SINGING?!?!! What troll doesn’t sing?! Anyway the village was cruel to itty bitty Branch, he was seen as a freak always screaming and crying about the Bergen’s, always carrying a weapon, not to mention those hysterical “tantrums” (they were panic attacks😐) The kids made fun of him and pulled pranks that usually were Bergen related (the new generation was unaware how much harm those things caused many of the survivors, but thats not an excuse) The adults talked about him like he was a pest and a blemish on the “happy” village. No one wanted him and those who tried to take him in only wanted to make him happy, and when he didn’t become “happy” they dumped him onto the next family.. Peppy was too busy to take care of the troll and insisted on finding a new home for him,….till he gave up looking after another escape from branch’s current home (Branch kept leaving to build the bunker for his bros sadly the one in pop village was left unfinished) eventually Branch disappeared, no one noticed for a few weeks till he was brought up in a conversation once. Soon Peppy and the older trolls stopped talking about the grey troll. He became nothing more than a forgotten memory, eventually the knowledge of grey trolls also were forgotten (or kept a secret…)
