Memory/POV : you went on a "girls trip" expecting to wild out & have the time of your life in Miami, only to in actuality stunt for the gram & sit around hotels... *screams* ..... what a nightmare! I didn't plan the trip though, I was just invited. At least I looked cute! I'll probably post more throwback pics from this because I really looked so hawt 😍 my outfits were all coordinated in advance so I could fit "the scene".
I'm sure we've all had that experience where we go on a trip and the expectation does not hit or something alters the whole vibe of the trip. I've gone on trips with now exes where half the trip we're fighting about dumb stuff instead of enjoying ourselves... IT HAPPENS and that's just life. I think the biggest thing I've learned about traveling is that it can truly reveal character. I think traveling is a great way to test the connections in your life and see who's really good for you & your journey. Getting people out of their comfort zone, including yourself can really give you insight into problem solving & conflict resolution skills, overall personalities and ability to adapt. When someone is not attached/obligated by their surroundings it can really expose who they are. Instead of being mad about "bad" vacation experiences it's honestly just a lesson learned and a way that I now know can test the strength of bonds & connections in my life. If I can't travel with ya, I probably can't do life with ya!

Sometimes you need to charm a few snakes to get through the day…
Tumblr media
This photo was taken in Karachi, Pakistan, on my first trip to the country in the fall of 2016. I was walking around the beach with a good friend and we came upon this sight, among many others.
I love this picture.
I have, unfortunately, been working with a few snakes lately. Usually I can find ways to charm them, keep the civility, keep the work moving forward. But I made the mistake of calling out the snakes, asking they stop biting, stop attacking those I feel a duty to serve. Now the snakes are biting me, my students, my colleagues…
I don’t regret calling out the snakes. I don’t regret standing up for what I felt was right. I just wish there weren’t so many snakes to charm at the moment, so many baskets to avoid. Now I have to find a new beach.

This is my fave Seafood Cup Noodles. I first tried it in Japan last 2019 and since then, I like to buy it. There’s available in some grocery stores in Cebu and especially Landers.
During our recent trip, I never tried eating this one in Japan. Instead, my family especially my Papa has been eating this almost everyday. And he loved it too.
My sister bought only 2 pcs considering the stuff we had to bring back home. Our 4 checked-in luggage became 7. Haha
Today, I did eat the last cup. Kinda regretting why I didn’t buy more of it. Since it’s way cheaper in Japan.
But yeah! Maybe next time.😊

One time I was flying out of Tallin, Estonia’s airport. We had a bit of a wait so I went to this little convenience store in the airport because they had a big code and hot drink machine.
I had bags of my favorite tea with me, so I asked the man if I could buy a cup of hot water. He said he couldn’t make the fancy Starbucks machine dispense just water, and everything with his inventory had to line up, so he went into his little back room and he came back with a ceramic mug of hot water, either microwaved or poured from a break room kettle. He asked me to just return it and he wouldn’t charge me anything.
Honestly, such a kind and accommodating gesture. Here’s a picture of the cup.

Quest For Clarity
I’m staring at the screen while sipping my morning coffee. It’s 6 a.m., and I’m sitting on the porch of my Airbnb in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Despite witnessing a beautiful sunrise, I am filled with dread. Actually, it’s restlessness and desperation. Alone with my thoughts, I felt a mix of nostalgia and anxiety, as if each sip of my coffee was stirring up old dreams and present fears. I understand that…

I was on a bus when I snagged this shot, so please forgive the glare. But I’m so glad I was able to capture this moment!

Rann of Kutch - 1
I attempt at blogging again. But this time seriously. So let’s see where this goes eh! Welcome to the Rann of Kutch! I had been quite attracted to it from a few years, especially after the great Amitabh Bachchan advertises it annually, starting from November till March. I had no idea about what it really is, till I finally decided that I wanted to go there. Till then, I thought it was a desert…

Travels with Stephen Part 2
Against fearsome odds King Stephen had defeated the massive armies of the Ottoman Turks but he knew they were likely to return. In the aftermath of his extraordinary triumph, a campaign of building monasteries emblazoned with richly coloured paintings from the Bible commenced. At the same time, Stephen demanded that the monasteries also be able to resist invading armies. Orthodox Christianity…
